Slow your roll there Joe Amat, they played one non-league game that was against a ranked opponent (NORTHVIEW, ranked 4th in Div 4 as of yesterday). Going wire to wire as #1 in Trib, cuz Aram says so (who didn't even know Amat was in Div 5) and playing this schedule against a buncha scrubs that even Coach Gano would be proud of lining up, isn't quite the same as finishing in the LA Times Top 5 in May/June. They won't play any ranked team in league either. We'll see how they do at the Bishop Gorman tournament, there will be some national ballas there. They are 9 an 0, against 8 bitches and one good team. Dont count your chicks before they hatch (girls hoops?)!!!! They came in today at #23 in the LA Times poll, the only Div 4/5 team in the poll. Its March, relax blohards!

We'll see in Vegas how they stack up against some stiff competition, on a legit field, not some sandlot. We'll just have to wait an see.....

I'll be there to give you nerds some updates, I just happen to be in Vegas that weekend anyhow, and being the complete sports nut that I am, I'll find the time to see how the enemy is doing.

No worries pal. I'm not taking sides with your Bagpiper war. I couldn't really give a rat’s ass what’s going on over there on that side of the 210. It's interesting to me to read about all the turmoil that some of these programs seem to be having or are perceived to be having by some of these posts. For those of us on the outside of these personal wars some bloggers have with their respective schools, it makes us (or at least me) thankful that our programs are relatively quite, blog wise. There may be rumblings about our programs from time to time, but for the most part our fans choose not air out our dirty laundry for all to see. Does this mean our fans are any less fanatical? No. Does it mean we are less educated about our sports? No. Does it mean we do not have the tradition that some bloggers wear on their chest? Shit, I don’t know and I don’t care! The purpose of this site if I remember right is for all of us to express our thoughts and opinions on the local high school sports scene. With the one rule being we do not bash the players personally. I believe for the most part Aram has been very successful with this blog. Now if some of the bloggers choose to call out the coaches or the A.D.’s or whoever they feel is responsible for the demise of their programs, have at it. This is the place to do it! But there will always be those who can’t take it as much as they can give it. They are quick to call others out when they find someone who has a different opinion from their own. That is the saddest part about this site. The adults who feel the need to be heard above all others. The fact that if you don’t agree with me then you don’t know shit! Or who the hell are you to tell us what’s wrong with this coach, this team, this player. What are your credentials? This shit is hilarious! I really only follow the local football teams and I am not clued into the other sports as most of you are, but I continue to read this blog daily for the rants and raves of all you Nucking Futs! SHUT UP with the parents and coaches comments. We all have lives and know that our kids are just doing the best they can. His high school days are over and even he wouldn't appreciate the scrutunity that he places on the parents and coaches and administration of our community. Volunteer to coach at the freshmen level. The truth is people at Glendora have refrain from exposing him to the same scrutiny he places on everyone. Why? because what's the point. He has a son that does not control him father and therefore should not be reduced to undue humiliation.

The Intervention post has just opened my eyes to what Mike the clone have been saying all along. These people are so myopic that they can't see whets going on.

But after reading the intervention post I have come to realize you guys have some really serious problems over there. With people trying to as you say, "justify mediocrity".

You were once a competitor I think you once said and obviously a very intense one at that it appears. I have no problem with anything you have recently posted.

Mr. Intervention when you say the coaching staff doesn't read this blog or what anything Mike the Clone say's. I beleive your not being totally honest. I tend to believe that you are on the faculty or staff at Glendora. And Mr. Clone has ruffled your feathers a bit and in your own little world you don't like your feathers ruffled. Just my opinion sir, just like Mr. Clones opinion. Obviously there are others at GHS that agree with him.

Mike the Clone is entitled just as much to his opinion as you are to yours. Besides why don’t you be the better man and if calling some one out is so important to you I sure didn’t see your name on the bottom of your post. As a matter of fact I haven’t seen any of these gentleman post their actual names when posting to call the Clone out.Once again don’t throw stones if you live in a glass house.

Mike the Clone was a fun loving blogger who has become the story at Glendora. The coaches to their credit have ignored him on this blog. In some twisted way that has given Mike the Clone the belief that if he was wrong they would have confronted him in person or on this blog. But the truth is Pasquerella doesn't have to sink to Mike's level. He wins everywhere he coaches (Covina, Damien,Glendora), has the credentials and respect of players and coaches in this Valley. Futhermore the position coaches at Glendora have also ignored Mike the Clone. No one has ever said that Mike's kid was being treated unfairly or singled out. That has never happened. Yet Mike the Clone in his desire to be BACK IN HIGH SCHOOL keeps making himself the issue at Glendora High. What a complete loser.

See Mike no one really has sunken to your level at Glendora High. No one brings up your kid, his playing abilities or how you embarass him. NO ONE! Yet you can not seem to get it. People are on to you. You don't really care about Glendora as a city, as a community or as a school. You're a transplant. You don't get how things work here. We have class. We teach our kids to respect authority, to respect their teammates and ultimately to respect themselves. If your comments are acceptable and do not create shame and humiliation then do us all the favor and come clean. Tell us all why we should continue to have to listen to your over blown comments about the "button wearers". Is it wrong to love our school and players unconditionally? Is it wrong to show, by example, the respect for authority that will serve them well in life. Is it wrong to place sports in it's proper perspective? Sports is about character building. You have exhibited none. Sports is about being a good teammate. You are not a team player. Sports is about pulling together for a common goal. You are nothing more than an out of control, over the hill, living in the past self centered egomaniac. Sports is also about good sportsmanship. And you are a bad sport and in your mind that makes everyone else a loser. How incredibly sad.

What happened to the Mike the Clone that used to entertain? What happened to the Mike the Clone that could take as well as he took? I'll tell you. You became a bully. Which is what you really are. Power Guard (L/R depending on offense): Intelligent/footwork, Primary Trap, Aggressive Drive/Base Blocking Personality, Capable performing all primary blocking techniques, tradeoff technique for aggressiveness

Finesse Guard (L/R Depending on Offense): Intelligent/Footwork, Secondary Trap, (see Power Guard)

If you are coaching you should have already known some of this stuff.

Are you saying Glendora athletes have "Heart" and "Desire" but no "Talent"? Kind of like being damned with faint praise Mike. Your post certainly dosn't boost the confidence of the players in themselves or their coach. Not that your assesment of the coaching staff is wrong. But if you really want to make a difference,if that is your intention, perhaps this forum which the kids seem to participate in, is a inappropriate place. Maybe you could share your views among parents at practice or in a booster meeting and build a consensus instead of adding to a already mutinous situation.

Hey Look,

I know some at "bagpiper U" say I'm a (blankedy-blank) but who cares. When I see fine young men who just want to play and enjoy their high school years playing the sports they love not playing them, then something is wrong.

There are kids that want to play that aren't and basically because of Henly. I have met him a couple of times on occasion and yes he's a little too cocky for me. But that's just me. But obviously the kids see him in a different light.

When I was coaching at the high school level each year at the end of the season we were all hauled into the principles office for evaluations and ask about our thoughts of the season and where we needed to improve. Boy I’d love to be the fly on the wall in that office at GHS if they are doing that here.

It’s beginning to look like A.D. Lopez is running a Good Ole Boy’s Club at “Bagpiper U” eventually Lopez should be held responsible. But if the “button wearer’s” are willing to accept the status quo then hey …want are you going to do?

Quit selling these kids short at “Bagpiper U” they may not be the most talented bunch right out of the box, but give them the leaders to guide them and inspire them and they just might surprise you. Why can’t you people see what I see in these kid’s. I know they have the heart and they have shown you guys they have the desire.

Come on administration at “Bagpiper U” get the leadership on the field that the kids will play for. Evaluate your athletic department programs, and ask the question. Do we really have the best staff on the field and courts for our student athletes? Are we satisfied with what’s going on? Or do you guy’s just want to hide behind closed doors and act like you are now, like nothings wrong. You better start communicating and asking questions of your athletes who once played a sport but now are not.

Instead of worrying about what the “pit” is yelling and cheering at basketball games turn the mirror on yourselves and open your eyes at to what’s really going on in your athletic department. You have some voids in your football program and from what I’m hearing from the kids you definitely have serious problems with your baseball program

These “Bagpiper Kids” demand and deserve better. Balls in your court folks time to step up………..or maybe out!

HENLEY MUST GO! What more proof do you need of a mental meltdown? Ten runs in one inning and no pitching change. Even the most inexperienced LL coach would not let that happen. Glendora parents and boosters do not give any support to this cancer to the great tradition of Glendora baseball.

Coach Henley reallys has NOT been in the game for years! He showed up to practice and pretends to know what he is doing! Same old practice everyday! Does not prepare his players for the battle!

Ask yourself the real question “Does Coach Henley really inspire you to be the best you can be”

Quite frankly, he has lost his enthusiasm, isn’t keeping pace with the competition, and he coaching skills need an MAJOR overhaul!

We need a new engine! Wake up Administration, he can still keep his teaching job, just fire him as the coach!

You want to know why Mike the Clone enlightened you, it's cause he has balls and is not afraid to see the faults of the school he chooses to root for...the guy calls out coachs at that school but backs it up with fact, not like others here who just want to complain without basis.... i should by him a beer...he is very much VIP in the legends lounge...BJ's Brewery every friday night if you want that big fellow...

You know I sat here wondering how could henley do that to steven chakarian,a fine young man with a great set of parents. And then I read your take and as usual it all made sense to me. Thank you for making sense of it all and enlightening me. Maybe this is why you dont see any three sport players anymore. Glendora booster or parents please tell me who else could have pitched in that situation, I know for a fact that they have about seven or eight GREAT pitchers. They could not have run out of pitchers could they?

If a coach is so unpopular that each year petition's are circulated that attempt a regime change because of a personality conflict, I am not for it. But, if a coach loses a game that is almost impossible to lose ie: a nine run lead in the last inning because he/she hasn't played out scenarios and doesn't make changes/adjust to game situations, he/she should go. Leaving Chakerian in that long was a travisty....we were all sitting there watching the game thinking "ok, he'll come out and make a change now" and it never bleeping happened. I was embarassed to walk away from that campus after my alma mater blew chunks and to see that celebration Damien had was humble pie that no one wants to taste...but, they deserved it. Their coach made changes, has a positive message..you can see the way he relates to his boys when he talks to them...and they respond because of it. They're not afraid to make mistakes and that's how winning teams play. To have a center fielder not know to cut off a ball instead of gamble and dive for it and cost the team a chance at another inning is a pure lack of fundamentals. Before more great athletes decide not to take up baseball at Glendora, please make a change. The writing is on the wall in bright red color. This isn't over one just one game. This has been brewing for years and those not willing to change and asjust to the kids will never be successful. I am TIRED of seeing what used to be a proud baseball school a program that lacks fire, wins and coaching.

AS A PLAYER MYSELF, I READ THE ARTICCLE ON THE GAME AND IF A COACH EVER COST ME ONE OF MY GAMES I WOULD WANT HIM IMMDEIATLY FIRED WITH NO ?'S ASKED!!!!!

Hey Damien and Glendora,

Here is how it breaks down, you are not the only two teams fighting for the title. Chino is very good,in my opinion db looks like the best, chino hills is never very bad. Ayala is the only team not in contention. Very good game,props to Damien for not giving up, and shame on glendora for yapping way too soon. Hey coach henley how many pitchers did you have on the bench that didnt get to pitch. I am sure the lefty henderschott sp? could have pitched,any glendora fans could you tell me who else could have pitched? Was all eight or nine of his pitchers used up? If I didnt watch the game with my own eyes I would never have beleived it. WOW, what a clear cut case of a coach losing a game. In no way should that loss be pinned on chakarian, he is a gamer,coach why would you let him struggle out on the mound for so long?

I guess you are right Aram, but i will tell you this it WONT be a cakewalk in Brahma land . I was surprised at the DB/Ayala game that Ayala went through its entire bullpen by the bottom of the 5t;(I counted atleast 5 pitchers). Brett Miller didnt pull out till bottom of the 6th. All in all , i can pretty much bet or atleast i can give an opinion on behalf of DB, and thats that defense, pitching , and timely hitting is whats going to keep them in championship hunt. Brett is thus far has been stellar, and Gary Brown amongst others has provided excellent leadership.

I think it's because Damien and Glendora are such big rivals that the fans relish wins over each other more than anything else. I think even they finish 5th and 6th in league (which won't happen) they'd still be smiling so long as they beat the other guy. That's what happens in big rivalries.

HA HA HA.....to that fat pig standing next to the Glendora dugout who kept taunting coach Vasquez when he walked out to make the pitching changes in the eighth...for those of you not there, the porker kept saying "no, leave him in." How ironic is it that his own coach took his advice and never made a change? Listen dude, stay away from Krispy Kreme, Coldstone Cremery, Mc Donald's and maybe find your way to a 24 hour fitness center. This victory was PHAT!

Glendora middle infield is very inexperienced and the coach needs to find the answers!

Henley does need to make the adjustments!

Personally i think both Damien and Glendora better hop of the soap box and quick because unfortunatly they have atleast 3 other league foes to deal with and i dont understand how and why they are letting one game, and the 1st game at that make or break their season....SAD!

Way, I saw it...It was a good game by two evry talented teams.I am a member of the losing fanbase here but it jsut amazes me that Damien continually acts this way.Absolutely no class there.Really, if gelndora fans were popping off then all this Damien popping off is just as bad...If Damien is supposed to ahev so much more class, then why sink to Glendora fans level if they are as bad as you all say.Good game to both teams, tough to swallow this one....Really can't pin it on anyone in particular.....Chakerian got the two outs and things lookied fine but then he just lsot it.Not really Henley's fault, the plaeyrs shouldn't have allwoed this to happen.Six errors is truly inexcusable but the program is very talented and poised to compete this eyar regardless of being a less experienced team.Glendora is poised to ahve a good eyar adn have proven they are a team to be reckoned with on any given night with the Monroiva win, Amat/Damien losses..Damien should be good, Pertusati is a great all-around athlete.

The Lady Conquerors win The Arroyo Tournament. They beat a very good La Serna team who by the way, was underfeated and coming off a tournament championship in the Brea Tournament. The Conquerors keep on rolling behind the great pitching by Dianna-Lynn Patterson (tournament MVP). Way to go Ladies.

Such a surprise, shocking really, that Glendora fans would talk out of turn, Who would have thought it, huh?

To compare a good high school like Damien to the attrocities of the third reich is such a joke I am flabbergasted. I dont even like either school,but damien is much classier,and certainly doesnt need to be compared to hitler. Wow, what an insult to the Jewish race and any right thinking people. Get a grip on reality,it was a baseball game.

It blows my mind how the Damien faithful act, no matter what sport it is. Look back at this page and see if any of the Damien fans had a single good effort or any kind of respect to the opposition at all.

Yeah, thats right there is nothing but arrogance and I continue to preach the fact that the only thing Damien High School produces is selfish, arrogant kids. I envision that school like a big factory that marches in new Hitler youth(Freshman) and sends out Gestapo(Seniors) every year.

It truly was a remarkable event watching Damien come back to beat Glendora yesterday!

Every player, coach and parent should take notice, that is not over till the final out! This type of a game doesn’t happen very often, but once in a while it does and what an exciting moment for the team that comes out on top!

Both teams will have to evaluate their pitching staffs, and make the right adjustments sooner! Coach Henley should be embarrassed for not making the proper adjustments.
How do you let a team back into game like that without reacting sooner! Critical coaching mistake!

I love it. No matter how hard Glendora tries, Damien just owns them. It's fun watching damien play glendora and just mess with them! Glendora nice try though you guys should be proud you came within 1 run

All you Damien honks need to realize its only one game even how crushing that one in the loss column will be. You are still just one game ahead of us. Granted, I have never been more disguested at attending a sporting event in my life, but it is just ONE GAME. What I can not overlook are the changes or lack there of. Are you kidding me coach? Six errors? Misplaying the fly ball? No pitching changes in a 10 run inning? Holy crap. I could make better decisions and I've never played or coached baseball before. I saw with humble pie...congrats Damien, but I don't think we could ever possibly choke a game away like that again....or with this crew....who knows? Bounce back big Steve. You can only do what your coaches make you/ask you to do...even when you're struggling and have run out of gas.

Did I read the paper right today? There were 19 runs scored in the eighth inning of the Glendora/Damien game? I am so happy to have cruised through our opener to see that both Damien and Glendora will have pitching issues all season long. What I didn't understand in reading the box score was how Damien made four pitching changes and Glendora left their pitcher in the entire eighth inning. Wow......brain fart to say the least. Someone needs to check themself, but I hope that kind of decision making continues when we face Glendora. Damien on the other hand must be on cloud 9 after probably the biggest comeback for them and the biggest choke in league and area history by Glendora and their arrogant following. Unbelievable.

I've been very hesitant to bad mouth Henley as so many have done in recent years, but this game made me sick. I sat through four Damien pitchers in the eighth inning and yet Henley leaves Chakerian through this catastrophe. To top that, it was Chakerian's position in center that gambled for Ortega's line drive that ended up being an inside the park, walk off homer. You can never justify to me how a coach could not make adjustments to save a nine run lead and I can not finally say this was VERY poor coaching. I was embarassed to walk away from the field last night knowing we had been out coached and couldn't figure a way to protect a NINE RUN LEAD. The writing is on the wall at GHS. Move on.

For those of you that weren't there, you probably missed the greatest game ever played in the SGV. Glendora scored nine runs in the eighth inning and were celebrating and their fans were obnoxious and my Spartans bounced back with 10 runs in the bottom of the inning to shut up the yuppie nation. The look on the Glendora coaches faces were priceless. They realized that they had been part of the biggest meltdown in the history over this rivalry. Nice going Tartans! Try and live this one down. You can win 20 games and not get over blowing this! Pertusati OWNS Glendora pitching. 3-5 with two doubles, an HR and three runs scored and two runs batted in. Thanks Glendora for giving us the single most memorable game I've ever seen and for blowing chunks at the end.

Haha gelndora thought they had the game one after they scored 9 runs in the top of the 8th. The glendora fans started talking smack and laughing at us but us spartans were taught never to give up so what do you think happend 10 runs in the bottem of the 8th to win the game baby

No surprises at Northview. Valle Vista League will be tough. Young Northview team, but typical, they win big games.

The DB game wasn't as exciting as the softball game betwwen Damien-Glendora, our boys just dropped the hammer 18-4...plenty more where that came from!
