For all you football joneses ...
Spring practice is coming up in about a month, and there will be another Top 10 posted for it. Also, I have good reason to believe there will be a coaching vacancy real soon at a local school and the replacement will be made very quickly and possibly with somebody whose been mentioned before on this blog.

14 years later ...you're the classless a-hole. Look in the mirror at your disgusting comments.
Get off YOUR ass and ask to coach...opps ...you have no field experience....stop bragging about the players that don't even remember "YOU"!
Move on and stop being a cancer at Amat. NO ONE MISSES YOU!
(Bringing his mom into this? Other than football..what do they teach at Amat...it sure is not dignity and respect.)
As a Amat Grad. from the 93 team I must say this coach is a complete I@#%$. He does not know how to coach and he got the job because his old Lady works in the main office. This reason why Amat was great in my day was Parades had complete controlled of the team and their respect. There wasn't any fights in the locker room at half time or after the game. There wasn't any lying to player or misleading them. At the end of the Coach P. put the hardest working and ones with the most talented (Dylon, Rodney Sermons, Ralph B., R. Huma, Kory Minor, Joey G., Derrick D, etc.)on the field. Maybe that why we were 15-0 that year and contended for a few years after.Maybe the next coach won't have mommy going to bat for him to get a job.
Amat insider, your right. Much more goes on at Amat than meets the eye and that is going on in all sports at Amat and it all starts at the top. It is time for a change, Msgr. Carroll must go!!!!!!!
Great News Flash!!!!!!!
Damien's Daniel Harper signs with USC.
Apparently he was a last minute recruit by the Trojans!
Imagine that!
Congratulations ...."How you like me now!"
For you SGV folks.
DE Dominique Austin and LB James Mead both of Bishop Amat were named to the LA Nike All Camp Team. The info is listed on ssfootball.rivals.com. Congrads to both players.
Actually, it's cheaper to go to Damien that it is Amat...not by much...but it is cheaper...Ya know, I do do some research before I post anything.
Ok ill give you he went to 3 schools but did you ever look how expensive it is to go to Damien maybe that was a reason you are just thinking it was all about football infact i believe he played at Damien. With the Dad thing man you guys are something else i bet you were not saying all of this to his fathers face were you? You say he was begging Gano for his son to go to the combine so you know that for a fact he went to coach Gano and said an you must recomend my son to the camp and if you dont i am going to be very angry with you. LOL That is halarious you need to get some help, and when was their hell to pay at Amat when his mother went to talk to Verti wow Dorian Wells's mother talked to Verti you are not talking about her but i kno i know that was different. And you are putting all your eggs in one basket with wells i mean he has gotten hurt these last two years on varsity what are you going to do if he gets hurt the first few games their goes your season. Another thing how many possitions is he going to play qb, rb, wr, db, so you expect him to take the snap hand it off to himself or throw it to himself this is halarious. Who uses cheerleading for symbolism? the only person i have heard do that is Verti.
oooo...I Forgot!
Wells ran for almost half of McBrides rushing yards, caught 500 yards and top of this and more importantly...
Wells was injured and DID NOT PLAY againts Notre Dame AND Loyola!
You're wasting your breath MAT...
These people will learn the hard way about Tillis AND Co. These people probably are not even aware that Tillis was at DAMIEN before transferring to Amat because of lack of playing time. I guess Mr. INSIDER forgot about this fact..LOL! Los Altos was this family's 3rd choice and you and I both know that if Tillis does not start....there will be complete hell to pay at LA...like there was hell to pay at Damien and then Amat. We can sit here and try to explain to these gentlemen that the only reason why Tillis went to the Combine in the first place was because his dad wanted Gano to send him but this would not only be denied but it would fall upon deaf ears. Let them believe that one kickoff return play againts Notre Dame is significant. And passing leagues? HAHAHAA! Passing leagues are a joke. Let them learn for themselves....Los Altos traditionally schedules weak opponents so it probably will not matter as much who is the starting QB. Anyone care to post LA's schedule?
I believe Amat will be a running team next year and because of this, Amat would have had to field its most skilled running athlete. McBride does have talent but Gaisie was a much better natural back even when he was a junior. I think McBride and family were scared off by the competition that Amat faced last year...I mean, McBride barely broke 500 yards for the season. This is probably because he had to share playing time but the point is, when you are a good enough RB, you don't have to share playing time! And Amat had some pretty good hogs last year. I believe McBride and family knew that Amat's offense would be led by Dorian Wells next year. WELLS not only RUSHED for almost HALF of McBride's total yards but he also CAUGHT 500 yards on top of this. It would not surprise me at all if Wells was to become our starting RB. If anyone remembers, Daylon McCutcheon was a WR/CB his soph and junior years only to be converted to the starting RB his senior year. The McBrides would know that there would be no competition between Wells and McBride. I too, would have transferred my kid to LA if academics took a back seat to athletics.
Which leads me to my last point...If things were so bad with the coaching and football in general at Amat, the FIRST two players to jump ship would have been Austin and Wells...As of now, these two players are Div. 1 recruits so why in the world would they stay on a so called "sinking ship?" and jeopardize their statistics or possibly increase their chances of getting severely injured???
Take a look at the transfers people...Tillis was a 3rd string QB (behind a 5'7'' and junior Tamayo) and McBride was 2nd string that had to share playing time with the 3rd and 4th string RBs and also a WR (Wells...who again...rushed for half of McBride's yards). But again, let them believe that the transfers of these players represent and prove the downfall of Amat football..hahahaa! Silly rabbits!
What else needs to be said other than Mighty Are The Men That Wear Blue And Gold!
Insider,
If you have so much inside then tell me why he bolted to Los Altos if he was so great....hey if your good you play...Passing league..good lord if you go by that you are just not comparing Apples to Apples...game situations with 11 on 11 is where it is at.......Tillis 15 yards on that kick off return...I dont know what game you were watching.....unless he has changed, his passing stance and his release is the most awkward I have seen from a QB...He just may be better suited playing for LA but he was not going to cut it at Amat as QB....he may have done better at Amat as a receiver or a DB since he posseses such speed but no he wants to QB and that is where he is losing PT...he is not a QB.....if he was that of highly touted QB he would have started for us his Junior year....Carrillo was not that good so if Tillis is the superstar you claim he is then why was he not on the field...dont play the politics card...that is a cop out...face the facts he is not what everyone is making him out to be....unless some dramtic change has occured......and if he was all that for sure he should have beaten out Junior Tamayo..what happened there.....JV Tamayo started over him....Varsity Tamayo was #2...thats right politics?....you either have it or you dont and if you dont find somewhere else dont stay in the same spot and achieve nothing...I know it is the most glorified position in football but you have to know how to play it.......not every cheerleader becomes the homecoming Queen because of beauty some win it because they are more well rounded in other areas and deserve it.....
MAT....
I have to disagree with your evaluation of Tillis.
First, lets start with the kick return. You say he froze. Untrue, he gained 15 yards on the return as noted by Verti in the team stats. Thats against ND!!! He had the 3rd highest return average behind Wells and McBride with just 1 return. Again in the team program, stats provided by Verti. The numbers don't lie. I think you need to come clean.
Second, you say he was horrible in practice. Lets see. When Amat went up against competition in passing league, he played well. He threw multiple TDs against Valencia. Against Canyon Country, in the first game we played against them, we were getting beat by 3-4 TDs when Tillis was put in. Our offense then scored 3 TDs and lost because time ran out. He threw well against LA last year with scoring drives. Against Culver City, he also played well and the O scored with him in. He also never threw a INT in a passing league game that I remember. Remember, running the ball is not a part of passing league. So if thats your definition of horrible, then I guess so.
I'm no friend of the family or Tillis fan, but I will give Tillis credit for playing well when he was given the opportunity.
Realist you amaze me with your knowledge or lack of. Tillis did not get the opportunity in a game, yes, your right there and for reasons. If you were at any of the practices, when he did get his turn he was horrible..I mean horrible...Now I do wish him well and I hope the overnite Fairy turned him into the next coming of a slash between Joe Montana and Michael Vick...Because you want to play the star position and thats where Mommie and Daddie want you, does not mean you can play the spot.. you must earn it, and at Amat he did not earn one thing based on his performance in practice...Call Verti what you want, and he did make bad decisions I agree, but do you know what a diaster it would have been to put Tillis in a game stiuation....case in point...Tamayo got the chance against ND and got crushed. Tillis got a chance also against ND, since everyone claimed he had speed to return a kickoff..well he got the ball in his hands and froze....come on give me a break....To play at the varsity level you have to earn it and size does matter in Pac5 D1 whatever you want to call it....it is the best vs the best there ,and there is no room for a coach to make a decision based on Mom or Dad lobbing for PT....INSIDER: Lack of preparation I will give you but come clean on the details....Some kids left ....heck they leave all the time....That sideline was still full of players the last time I checked and Verti will play the best players he has which today is not much from what most are saying...this is a new year and I am hoping Verti learned something from that first year...Too many cry babies over PT....players must earn it, and parents suck it up.. if your kid is not that good, he is not that good in football, PERIOD!..find him another sport or chess club....dont knock the players chosen by the coach because your kid cannot compete with them and or has lack of size or ability....Transfer them, go ahead it does not matter Amat goes on and will continue to do so without you....Loyal to the Blue and Gold win or lose with my kid playing or not playing...you are soldier to the golden A thru and thru....Turncoats not welcomed.
MAT...,
Most parents were not upset about playing time, Tillis included. McBride proves that theory wrong. They were all upset about lack of coaching preparation and experience. But most importantly, they were upset with the lack of integrity of the staff with Verti being the main offender. I will not go into details, respecting the new blog rules, but starters and non starters were affected in various incidents last season. Remember, Tillis and McBride were not the only players that left from Varsity and there were players that left at the lower levels as well. There are also players who have not left Amat, but will most likely not play this coming season as well. This goes much deeper than PT.
You dont hope he does well so stop with the bs and like i said when a MAN says he is gong to do something he should stamd by his word period. Another thing you did not watch him for 2 years because he did not get the opportunity to play so i dont want to hear that. Well they were upet because Verti cant win he does not put the best players on the field. He does not even give them a shot like Tamayo, he did not get a fair chance they pushed him to the side and said he was to small. They then pushed that kid Tillis to the side because they said he runs to much but then go with Dorian Wells who did nothing but run so thats bull. Their is no way you can say he has a better arm than both f these kids. Bottom line is Amat was not in the running to make it to playoffs so they should have givn all these kids a chance to show what they could do. Why is this because he felt they were not good enough well not to badmouth anyone but the starter did not do to well and niether did Verti as a coach he does not deserve the job.
I dont understand why the mcbrides would be upset bryce started most all games because of gaise injury and was returning to start this year....tillis mom went JAA on verti and that does not go in HS...........if he was that good I could see that but he is not and LA you will find that out............I mean I hope he does well...........but I watched him for 2 years and he was not that good...........
Kiss a--,
You act like Tillis's dad was the only person who was upset with the coaching. Obviously the McBrides were unhappy as well they left. No get your facts right the mom did not chew out Verti she just wanted to know why he says things and did not come through that is called a lier. He is not the only one that happened to.
AMAT HOME GAMES:
LOS OSOS
ORANGE LUTHERAN
ST PAUL (HOMECOMING)
SHERMAN OAKS NOTRE DAME
LOYOLA
All Amat football games at home and on the road will be huge this year....Oluth lost some key players but they are a true machine....it will be a big game....this game I thought was on the road but if in fact it is at home it will be a sellout.......Los Osos in zero week will be a good game to kick the season off with at home.
EVERYONE BE THERE SEPTEMBER 7TH. 2007. BISHOP AMAT VS. ORANGE LUTHERAN AT AMAT. BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR IN THE SGV!
I was at SC for the baseball game and I saw several SGV players at the Nike Camp. But the one who was getting attention was Dominique Austin from Amat I watched the lineman one on one competition and he looked very good against bigger & stronger offensive lineman. In fact the Nike coaches were calling his name and giving him praise every time he went up against an offensive lineman. I think that camp will help him get exposure. I also saw some of the other players but Austin stood out "big time". Nothing wrong will getting exposure.
WOW!!!!
Mark down the date. Everyone is talking about whats going on at LA and not Amat in regards to football. What is the world coming to? My how times have changed.
Jairo,
You talk about kiss a--....heck you just inherited Mr. Tillis....he is no kiss a-- but he will bash your coach if son does not play...his son is a senior this year and he places him on a very high pedestal.. it will be intresting to see how they(the Tillis both mom and dad) react if Blake does not start at QB or does not start at all.....I understand his mom chewed out Amats Head Coach Verti for lack of playing time for Blake at QB.....Verti still did not play him and thats why you have him....things could get sticky around Los Robles come QB competition time. Stay tuned.
In regards to the Fresh QB from last Years LA team I hear the dad is a big ass kisser, and from what I heard from some of his team mates he is scared to get hit. he went down in either the first game or second game and the kid tha took over did better. Go figure there will be a QB battle here and one will come out conquering all!!!
All this talk about who is going to be LA's QB, Stop nocking the kids hopefully Gano gives the job to the most deserving kid out there. I hear that there will be a surprise from one kid that has been working out all winter and gave up baseball for a year to get stronger and work on his game, and from what I hear he is looking awsome. remember there will be atleast 5 Qb's competeing for the job and the best one will get the job. Lets hope this does not get political because some kid will get assed out and that will not be right. Gano take a look at all your Qb's and judge them by what they show you on the feild and give them a fair shot all of them, one will emerge as your Qb you might have a diamond in the rough. Do the right thing and don't let those cronies that stand on the side line do nothing influence you just because some kids dad is kissing their butt I think coach Curtis and coach Fair are your only ligit coaches.
What if,
In response to your blog, putting time in and attending LA from day one does not mean you get to start. These transfers from Bishop Amat put in their time elsewhere... it is not like they just walked on with no experience and said "hey were from Bishop Amat and its our way or the highway."... You LA team is very fourtunate to get these transfers to come to your school....they could have gone to CO or SH and you could be competeing with them....they chose LA and thank them that they did....Bryce McBride is a excellent RB and is going to give LA a big lift if he stays healthy and does not get hurt...Maciel ans Seanez were instrumental in your offense and defense last year.... belive it or not these kids from Bishop can play the game...give them your support and do not play the politics card with them....Gano knows he got some talented kids from us and he is making work....altho they moved on to LA we at Amat still look to see how they are doing over there...I will be following Bryce McBride this year....He is a good individual...take good care of him because he is going to get in that end zone for you allot this year.
forget all this nonsense about tillis starting QB at Los Altos spring football is coming up in a couple of weeks and will see who is the man at the QB spot personally i think Ryan Howing is the most proved QB that LA has
What if Tillis does start? McBride is already penciled in at RB and two Amat transfers from a year earlier were starters as soon as they got there (Saenz and Maciel). How would loyal Conqueror parents and their sons who have been with the program for so many years react to these transfers from a school they don't like receiving playing time without having to put time in? Politics are everywhere.
Jeremy,
That is so dead on. Gano is not just going to give Tillis the job, combine or not, he has to earn it. My concern is if he did not even get one play of action at the QB spot as a junior at Amat, then what gives?....Is our coach that naive to think he can lead us just because he came from Amat, which is not much nowadays... or were the coaches at Amat blind to this combine talented QB.....this is what I mean when I say the jury is still out on this Tillis Kid....from what I can see Amat is not stock loaded at the QB position last year or this year to let a good one get away.???
p.s. I was rushing, I meant a scouting combine. Anyone can attend a camp, with a couple exceptions, Nike being one, I thought.
LACONQ,
that's what I'm saying. I didn't think anything was written in stone just yet, spring 'ball is barely going to begin. The thing is, if Tillis was at a camp/combine, then SOMEONE(who??)thinks he's the starter. who?-I honestly don't know, but showing up at a combine or camp is a pretty bold statement. You don't show up to one of those things if you think you're going to be riding the pine, or a SENIOR back-up, and from has been said Tillis and family have their hearts set on the QB spot. I'm not at all saying Gano sent him to rep the Conq's, but someone did. I highly doubt Gano has dubbed ANYONE a starter at ANY position before August, let alone before Spring practice. I'm just curious.
Jeremy,,
Just because Tillis is at a combine does not make him the starter. Jury is still out...If he did not take a snap at Amat as a junior is he all that? Just wondering>?
I personally thought that the Frosh. QB would be the starter, and Tillis would be moved to WR. Any info on that scenario?
Forget the camps and the nonsense. Camps put players into check...that's all.
Unfortunately it also puts parents into lala land.
Most players can not compete at the next level...and don't want to really and subconsciously bail out. Are there diamonds in the rough? Yes. Natural ability, natural size and un-natural explosion. That's what the scouts are looking for. If anyone is really interested in you/player...then that scout has already had a conversation with your coach and has your film...if not ..you're you'll be disappointed come senior signing day.
Look at Mendrun, Travis and Hile from well publicized Damien. No film, too slow and too undisciplined ....in that order. And they were all ALL CIF, ALL AREA, Player of the Year caliber players in their leagues yet nothing but a ticket to JC, JC and walkon at Davis...maybe. Mendrun is a kid who fell thru the cracks. If a kid with his credentials, heroics, character, athletic versatility doesn't get signed somewhere what chance does your kid have. Travis on the other hand is too used to being catered to and has a poor work ethic that caught up with him (maybe that'll change in JC but I won't hold my breath)Travis could have been a solid SS or beefed up TE but hey he was groomed to the slot and nothing else...well slots are quicker, faster and in abundance. His big play instincts are impressive but he's not a team player and that came back to haunt him. Hile well he's a mystery. If he ever learns that he's a part of a bigger picture he might make it. When he's disciplined and steps up he's solid when he's not he disappears.
This ain't to slam parents or players it's just these camps do what? Show the parents how much their kids lack in fundamentals and conditioning? Look at Travis. He ran a 5.19 40yard for a 2 year starter that's slowwwwwwwwwwwww at the combine before his senior season so please come into camp in shape and ready to go or else just send film. In basketbal they say "you can't teach height" well in football...speed kills! Imagine Lucero, Harper, Taylor at the wides/slots and Travis at TE in the spread offense? Wow Mendrun would have thrown for 3,200 yards! Make it rain Scotty!
D Harper on the other hand...great explosion. 4.35 speed consistently and a body that coaches love plus he's strong and is coachable with great grades. He can play slot, WR, RB, CB and he's on his way to Georgetown! Great job D Harp....word to Chapelle Brown..."How you like me NOW!!!!" lol
Camps are great stroking for the maybees and never wills but the true ballers with natural size, natural athletism and "un-natural" explosion shine even if they are playing with "nerf footballs"!
Good luck to Austin...from what I've seen at Bishop he's the only one who has a chance...if he ever toughens up and matches his body to his potential. Great feet,decent motor, bad stance. If he realy gets mean and adds strenght he's a monster if not he'll be at Mt. SAC getting a reality check instead of the PAC 10. I've never seen him dominate but have seen great potential to do so...maybe it's the coaching or maybe it's him pacing himself but with his experience he should be dominating this year. Best of luck to a great kid from a greater family. Keep your ears open..his little sister is something else and will star for Bishop Amat's girls basketball team in the next xouple of years.
Nothing is guaranteed until an athlete gets an offer. Heck nothing is guaranteed in life PERIOD. I do know from watching that the QBs were broken into groups and both Parham and Tillis were placed in the lead featured group with the "big boys". That would be based on camp coaches views of ability and I believe they would be better judges than any of us here. But, I still say regardless if its Parham, Tillis or anyone else, give all these players their just due because they ARE part of the process. Not many in the nation, let alone the SGV can say that. Congrats again to ALL of the invitees.
Going to a combine or a camp doesn’t guarantee one thing! If you do well, it gets you on the radar. If you have a bad camp, guess what, you done! Athletes better be in top shape before you get marketed into the Nike crap. Sure scouts come, but it’s a much bigger process to the FINAL signing day!
You must perform during all your seasons and show student-athlete characteristics throughout your high school years to reach that final reward!
Gano has to show numbers???what numbers?...Tillis is a transfer from Amat..there are no numbers he did not play the QB position at the varsity level..not one down....well maybe he has his 40 timed but true raw numbers I doubt it.
Scouts looking at a player does not mean they are impressed. Did you see what they wrote in their clipboard reguarding Tillis?...thats right you didn't...does not mean they were impressed..they could have also been dissappointed....just because a scout looks at you does not mean your going to the next level...get a grip Realist 24.
Realist 24,
Like I said some miracle could have happened overnite...Time will tell about Tillis as QB of LA...As far as Amat having a QB there, I am also a realist.. we need to get a QB first...I will be the first Amat backer here to admit I am not happy about our current QB situation. I will bet dollars that if Tillis stayed at Amat he would not be our QB....again good luck to Tillis I hope he achieves greatness there at Los Altos.
MATMTWTBAG
If that Tillis kid is that bad in your opinion why were thier scouts looking at him and why would coach Gano just stick his neck out for a kid? Just so you know you have to do well at a sparq combine to make it to a nike camp. Even if Gano did have connections he could not just send a kid he has to have some kind of numbers to show he should be their with players like Dane Crist the qb for ND who killed Amat last year and Blackmen from Carson. Bottem line the kid is doing something right no qb from amat made it.

hey aram when are u gonna post the position SGV rankings? or what do you all on this blog. have to say about the linebackers in this valley?
The best way to be seen nationwide by all colleges is NATS. This is the SAT of football. www.nats.us Check it out it's the future of recruiting. NATS makes the athletes internet profile available to all college divisions so if you want to continue playing beyond high school NATS gets your info out to all coaches who use it. Division I schools have all the resources available for scouting this levels the playing field for all players to be seen via NATS website. Also automatic Core Course Calculator to be sure you are academically eligible and NCAA qualified.
MAT
Your right!
I did not say I dislike the Tillis kid or his family my opinion is he is not a QB..........Of course Gano like all coaches has connections to those camp affiliates and he will send what he thinks is going to be his QB......You know I hope it pans out for Tillis and I said that earlier good luck to him and LA.........I just am of the opinion that he is not suited to play the position........like I said unless some miracle happened overnite...
Wrong?,
Sparq only sells gear though Nike. There are trainers that are certified with SPARQ, that do training of athletes. They have their own individual and independent training businesses. There is no Sparq training company or facility. You have to seek those individual trainers out.
MATMTWTBAG,
Some Camp? Are you serious? LOL You Amat guys are hilarious. Ask Wells or Austin and their parents if the Nike camp is just some camp. As far as Tillis goes, you don't have to like the kid or his parents, but him and Parham their due. Only they were invited out of the QBs the SGV. They must be doing something right.
Here is a great image that stresses the importance of height in the Pac-5. The following photo that I'm going to point out may offend some of the Amat faithful...but I feel that it is an important one to show.
Please go here....The Lancer in the photo is either #28 Carlton Fletcher (Army) at 5'11'' or it is #29 Frank Lopez at 5'8'' (same as LA's Castaneda). Amat is considering starting a 5'7'' QB....no way.
http://www.crespifootball.com/artman/publish/cat_index_47.shtml
Again, I do not mean to embarrass any Lancers but this photo speaks many an important word. May our Men in Blue have a most productive spring practice! ON BLUE!!!
Kit From Carson,
At 5'7 once you decide to throw and those tall defensive lineman put their arms up there are lots of batted down passes which lead to lots of 3 and outs with the punting team having a busy nite.........Speaking of Castaneda and height..El Dorado made him work in that championship game due to Batted down passes...Amat needs a tall QB back there a 5'7 is not the answer....5'10 and up....and that is stretching it in todays game....
Why do you think SPARQ is there. Do they sign up athletes to train for free.
Your sadly mistaken!
5'7 is not going to get in done in pac5 that is totally correct...Dorian Wells is at least 5'11 and has a chance of seeing over 6 foot o-line and a tall line that is rushing him...at 5'7 Tamayo will struggle if he decides to drop back and pass......we are doomed if we try to use a short QB in the pac5.....Carrillo or Castaneda..in the pac 5 you still go with the taller Carrillo.......castaneda would have been in the same trouble that Tamayo will find himself in this year if Verti starts him.....Yes Jeremy your team is in rebuilding.....you have Bryce and that is a good runner but your defense is so so this year and if you guys are planning on starting Tillis at QB just because he was at some camp think again..He is not a QB and you will find that out in a hurry.......I hear Longoria younger brother is not a bad QB and your freshman was pretty good too......Tillis good luck you will be asking for his head after game 1.......I am not knocking Tillis as a athlete and I am sure he can contribute to LA at another position but handing him the job of QB you better be ready to have a early hook and good back up.......I know your coach is smarter than to put his eggs all in one basket with Tillis....I still think it makes no sense to even consider him as a QB.....unless some overnite miracle happened....
Marketing $, I'm sorry but the Nike Camps are by invitation only, but the combines anyone can go to. SPARQ is part of the combines and its scoring, not the camp. The NCAA has made a distinction between the two and thats why D1 coaches can only attend camps now and not the combines. The Nike Camps are the premier event and benchmark for college success, ask any D1 coach. In regards to taking your money, both events cost nothing.
ARAM, WHERE IS YOUR UPDATE ON THE NEW HEAD COACH POSITION? WE ANXIOUSLY AWAIT.....
GO BRAVES !!!!!
Don’t kid yourself
Nike Combines and training camps are not by invitation only. Any athlete can register on line and go. They are not the benchmark or guidelines to success.
Then SPARQ will love to take your money!
Jeremy
Charter Oak will destroy you! Your young athletes that you speak of will not carry to to win league.
You barely made it to playoffs last year with the outcome of coin flip.
Yeah Jeremy,
They gots to be joking. Besides looks like only our QB and LAs went to the Nike Camp, so we know where the skill really is in this valley. You cant deny or blog that away.
Blu,
I'm pretty sure that you would have much rather had "tiny" Castaneda at QB, rather than Carillo. You know, and I know that the golden arch may have rep'd the SGV in the Pac-5 playoffs, he had NOT transfered to LA, but stayed about 3 miles and $8,000 down the street.
Matmwatabag,
no.8??? San Dimas over LA, LOLOLOLOL LMAO!!! Are you serious? OR the true question at hand; are you thinking with your logic, or your disdain for your SGV brothers and fellow local power at Mauch Memorial. Don't forget we got a lot of D coming back, and our young guys are SERIOUS athletes!
bluorca,
May I suggest the following for your consideration..QB's don't have to be tall, or have great arm strength, nor do they need to roll out on passing downs. If a boy can learn to execute great fakes from the tee, and pepper the secondayr from the shotgun, he can be a very successful QB. Further, passers don't read coverages, receivers do.
It just takes someone to teach him how to do that.
At 5ft 7in, a QB would have to roll out every passing down...you can only roll in two directions. If you look at the size of lines Amat will face next year (Lutheran, Loyola, ND, Crespi) it does not take a football expert to tell you that these defenses will tear an offense, led by a short QB, to absolute shreds. And anyone that tells you differently has probably never been to a Pac-5 game or has seen teams like last year's Lutheran, Notre Dame, etc....Heck, even with their crappy record, Loyola's line was massive in both height and weight!
Sure, Los Altos was able to do ok with a short QB at 5ft.8in, but this was againts sub-par competition and no where near as tough as the competition Amat will face. If Amat must start a short QB, this season will be over before it starts. It's a sad fact of life but a short QB has no business competing in the Pac-5...Almost every team Amat will compete againts next season has genuine Division 1 recruits...We need a QB who is at least 6ft tall.
Colts
Wow, you really are so cool! Nice sentence structure!!
South hills was faced with a very hard decision last season of chooseing Brandon Parham or Nick Lamaison at the qb position...Nick eventually took the spot away...Brandon has been determined to start this year and he has been workin very hard to improve his game...he is more mobil than nick and has better accuracy...the only thing between them close is their arm strength...Brandon will have many weapons on offense: Dimitri De La Fuente, Damon Kuklinski, Evan Herd, Marcus Broughton, Juan Salcido...
south hills offense is full of explosive and stong athletes
on behalf of covina football players not all of us dont know how to spell like the guy below me...i was a senior this year and i think the team could still take league with the players that they have..but it wont be easy baldwin park san dimas and northview have the majority of their stars returning and who knows how good pomona is going to be..and ganesha well...there ganesha..we're losing 4 of our 5 o-linemen 2 recievers our qb and rb our starting corners our FS and SS and 3 of our 5 linbackers...3-peating is going to be difficult..but theres no way were missing the playoffs
yo covina is going to win it all and all the other skool suck cuz we are going to shock all yall this year and trust are qb is good and wr are grate and lb are good and line will kill all yall foo cuz all you guys suck so just shut up and fu** northview and fu** a brave they are bitches like all the others skools
MATMTWTBAG
Just a thought Dorian Wells is not that tall he certainly does not have a strong arm either. I think if you just give him a chance he may surprise you. And Dorian Wells just rolled out last year so Jr might be suit a little better if you want a stay in the pocket qb.
Ed,
I was at the baseball game at SC also. I snuck down the back side to see the goings on at the Nike Camp as well. Aram you would happy to know the SGV was represented well. Parham, the QB from South Hills was there, as well as Blake Tillis, QB from Los Altos. They both looked very impressive, stood out and were grouped with Dominique Blackman from Carson and Dane Crist of ND Sherman Oaks.
I also saw Dominique Austin and Dorian Wells from Amat and Bryce McBride from Los Altos on the field. Austin and McBride were said to be standouts by scouts as well. Diamond Ranch was represented also, but Im not sure of the players names. There may have been others, but these are the players that I saw and heard about throughout the event.
Congrats to all of these athletes for being invited to and putting on great performances at such a prestigous event.
Coach Verti
Here is a suggestion I think this will help with the problem as far as QB postion . I had the pleasure of meeting Jim Kunau @ Orange Luthern
at the Frank Glazier clinic in Long Beach , then at the Usc clinic in the month of March . He is a sharp tool in the shed and if your wondering if I am coach at a local High school football the answer is No.So lets get back to business give Junior Tamayo a chance to start the 1st game ( orange luthern) if you guys WIN or stay up with that team . He should start the whole season . The last thing is I as a parent/coach I'm Very Happy to see that you stepped up and accepted the Challenge for the 1 st game of 2007
Good Luck
that answers all the questions
This weekend we drove to see UCLA at USC for a three game series. (UCLA swept SC for those that want to know). The baseball field is next to the practice football field. Nike and SPARQ held a combine at SC. While I was there I noticed a tall slender QB throwing with incredible accuracy. It turned out to be Brandon Parham from South Hills. I'm not familar with the football program at SH, but I was suprised to hear that Brandon did start last year. He look very good, accuracy and arm strength. Does anyone know if he will start for them.
Football Fanatic,
Junior Tamayo will not be Amats QB...He has the know how but lacks the height and his arm is not that strong.....but you may be right ..Tamayo may be the only real logical choice...there is no great qb there so we may have to make due....Dorian Wells may take it over and they may change the offense gear around a running QB....Tamayo must roll our on passing downs he is no way shape or form a drop back stay in the pocket QB....
When do you think we will hear about this new coaching change locally Aram?
As far as anyone is concerned in Amat Football, the starting quarterback is most likely Junior Tamayo.
I am the Original FOOTBALL JUNKIE!!
Find another name BIATCH!!
Aram
DO NOT DROP THIS HEADING, REPOST AND KEEP IT GOING! TIME IS GETTING CLOSE........
ARAM, MATMTWTBAG, Early Picks and LUVTHISGAME
What is really exciting about this coming year, is the talented group of athletes coming out of the SGV. Hoping everyone stays healthly, its going to be an fun watching all these kids mature.
Really interested in your take Aram on the upcoming season and the talent at these schools!
Lets play some football........
Aram,
This time last year you posted team analysis and schedules. Will you be posting information soon? Can't wait!
Thanks.
Anonymous,
Going in right now Amat has 5 candidates to choose from for the QB spot. from what I can see senority wise it breaksdown like this
#16 Nicholas Iglesias - 3rd on the depth chart last year but is 6' and has a good arm
#18 Junior Tamayo is 5'7 and is a good leader and knows the QB spot but unless you gear to the run you can utilize him as a QB. If you plan to throw the ball he is not the answer. Not a knock on Junior he just cant see over his lineman..may want to roll him out of the pocket to be effective.
#13 Blake Tillis (glad to see that he is at Los Altos now... was never a factor I wish him and Los Altos the best of luck)
#2 Dorian Wells (played at QB last year and gave Amat a different dimension with his running skills but can he pass the ball is a question mark..He makes for a better reciever.)
Then there is transfer kid no one knows about a freshman and sophmore coming up to compete..
Besides Tillis ...Wide open for any the above to take the job.

Amat's QB will be the guy who wins the bidding between BA and LA.
anyone no who amats qb will be this year..?????
No comment for G'Dora or Do Artie. Nice!
Early top 10 Football List.
1.)Bishop Amat - Lancers bring back 17 starters and a good Senior crop this year, unlike last year.
2.)CO - Got to the dance last year and did not drop off much.
3.)So Hills - Good group of Seniors return. They will be a force
4.)Damien - Got some size up front and the QB is pretty good.
5.)San Dimas - Nico left , Nico right, Nico up the middle
6.)Glendora - n/c
7.)Duarte - n/c
8.)Los Altos - Bryce McBride running behind Longoria and that line nice fit...QB and defense BIG question mark.
9.)Northview - Robles impressed last year can he do it again..may get injured
10.)West Covina - Darkhorse here but may surprise teams.
Yes there were several different weight classes, but BP had the most overall points in the competition. Different guys from different schools won in different lifts. I believe the lifts were the power clean, bench press, and squat. For the heavier guys, Jon Garcia from BP and a linemen from Covina were the only won to win in each event in their class, but Garcia got the trophy because his maxes were higher. For the lower weights, a player from Ganesha (yes Ganesha!! I was shocked too) was the only one to win all events in his class and received the individual trophy for the lower weights.
Los Altos won't be as big as recent years. They will be a small team with Huge talent. They lose there star reciever and QB but do return the core of there Offensive Line and the others who will start are mostly seniors. A lot of experience and skills will take them far. Can't wait till the Season!
GO BP
What weight class are your talking about. The kids were divided into different weight classes.
Be careful, I was there.
THERE ISNT GONNA BE NOTHING INTERESTING FOR THE SAN ANTONIO LEAGUE THIS YEAR...BOTOM LINE SOUTH HILLS
ROWLAND AND WEST CO GRADUATED ALL THERE LEADERS...
AND AS FAR AS LOS ALTOS...SH GOT EM ON THERE SCHELDULE
WE'LL SEE WHATS UP...
JUST BE CAREFULL...CUZ THIS SEASON SH IS REALOADED AND WERE FLYIN TO THAT FOOTBALL...
I would be careful to doubt Covina. Coach Thomas is a damn good coach and knows what he's doing. Those kids aren't just gonna roll over.
Covina held its annual valle vista league lifting competition that my cousin was in. BP WON IT!!! San Dimas was in a distant second and covina was in third. Ganesha finished fourth, but Pomona and Northview weren't there.
Early Picks,
Not a bad call, I would make a few changes though.
1. Charter Oak - probably the most complete team in the valley
2. Los Altos - consistent contender. Could eventually be #1 this season
3. Bishop Amat - Not a knock, just not proven winner last 2 seasons. Questions remain on both sides of the ball. Inexperienced youth and coaching remains unproven, needs to step up as well.Looking for much needed turn around.
4.South Hills
5.Duarte
6.Damien - better overall talent than schools ranked lower
7.Glendora
8.San Dimas
9.Northview
10.South El Monte/Baldwin Park - toss up
Whats the School and Whos the Coach????? COME ON ARAM!!!
Thanks Aram,
Keep all of us Amat Alumni, Parents, Boosters and fans informed...also the Haters...I think Verti will do his best work this year now that his rookie season is behind him. Tough schedule for us this year but not one that this team cannot handle...6-4 at worst 7-3 at best...Thanks Again, I know how much flak you take for the support you show Bishop Amat.
I haven't spoken to Coach Verti, but I'm sure I will as football activities pick up over the coming months.
this will be the year of the TARTANS
the new qb for covina will be jacob olivas, and yes, he'll lead us to the playoffs
Maggiore isn't going anywhere. Please stop.
Word is Maggiore is leaving
You Covina fans have to cut the cord with McD..he is gone and now is the time to see what your team can do without him...give the next guy (QB)in line the respect....Covina will slide down allot this year..I do not know if the playoffs are even going to happen for the colts this season.
Aram,
Have you had any conversations with Coach Verti and his thoughts for the upcoming season.? I know they have been doing some awesome conditioning in the off season...Allot of the players look yolked up.
well two seasons ago when mike was a junior, colts were predicted to get 3rd in league and look wat happened. im just gonna say that alot of guys r working really hard and ready to step up. this next year is going to be very interesting for the vvl and i cant wait to get it started
Wow all those want to be football coahes better take a long look at Caoch Wyatt's post...and you think you could X and O at the Varsity level?
Yeah RIGHT!!!!!!
I dont think it will be the year of the Colts either, but i know they will show up and be in most games. The VVL loses a few big time players, and that will make the league competitive all across the board, except for the 2 pomona schools.
GO BRAVES !!!!!
Covina losses too many seniors. Theres holes in every position imaginable. The lines are gone on both sides. LB+QB+RB+Corners+WR. Covina will be lucky to come in 3rd next year in the valley vista. There is potential , but I just dont see it being covina's year in 2007
There is no doubt Covina will be ok next year. They have good coaching and decent talent coming back. San Dimas, I think has to be the early on favorite to win league, with Northview, Covina, and B.P. following closely. Should be a very interesting league race.
GO BRAVES !!!!!
Covina Player
We had alot more good players graduate than just McD.
man mcdonugh leaves and covina falls off the map?
Aram kill the suspense!!!!!!! What school and what coach are you talking bout... My guess is, SEM and Urias?!?!
Okay Aram:
I know it's early but I am going to stick my neck out first. Some may not like it but I think there's going to be some big surprises this year given the talent in this area.
Spring Season Favorites:
1. Bishop Amat- Even with some exits, they have some young talent that if given the opportunity will step up. Injuries last year hurt them.
2. Charter Oak- 10 starter back on D, but good experience coming back on offense with Allen, Snowden and Crepo.
3. Los Altos- I think they made some good moves in the off-Season. Probably will have the best team speed in their league.
4. South Hills - Six to Seven good leaders coming back this year and the lower levels were good. This team was young last year and they are going to be stronger this year!
5. Duarte - This team has a solid QB and running back coming back. Will put up alot of points. I think they will be the big surprise this year.
6. Glendora- Great defense coming back and will have to really step up this year and kept things in check. Big question mark is QB spot and speed in the back field.
7. San Dimas- I heard only seven starting seniors that leave this team next year. They will be a force to be reckon with. How can you not like this team with an athlete like Barbone.
8. Damein - I like Pertusati, but not sure the leading cast around him. They will be big upfront, but an RB is still in question.
9. Northview - Another one of my surprises. Great team speed with a good QB and LB's. They will be tuff and return to form this year!
10. South El Monte - This is Cogburn year to really shine. Pretty solid unit on defense and offense. They will surprise us all!
Good Luck to all the teams this year and stay healthly and have FUN!
Markham also sells instructional videos. I own Volumes I and II. Hope I get number three (passing) next Christmas. HAHA!
This year is going to be interesting but we will be nomber 1.
Wow - that was some breakdown.
It does seem, at times, like amat is the "Kevin Bacon" of the sports world - as all things come back to them. Don Markham, the "creator" of the Double-Wing was a one-year experiment (but went 11-1) as Head Coach of the lancers when we were Mighty in the mid-80's. After his release is when he went to Europe and, apparently, this coach was introduced to the high scoring offense.
Whether you are a fan or not, and many lancers weren't (although I kinda liked him), the offense is amazing. I've heard Markham say that every play is designed to score. Markham gives clinics, seminars, and staff retreats on the Double-Wing at his ranch in Moreno Valley. The same ranch that he commuted to amat from for a whole year.
If amat had kept him they may have 10 more banners instead of 2.
Is Duarte now included in the East? In 1997 Duarte's coaches coached the West team. Rumor has it that Murphy from Maranatha will coach the West this year.
YEAH... FOOTBALL IS BACK!
THANKS ARAM!!!!!!!!!!!
Not the following has anything to do with what is being discussed but I thought you football junkies might find it of interest and perhaps it'll spark a comment or 2. The following post was left on Roger Murray's blog as a response to what type an offense a particular coach might run at a particular school in order to make them more competitive.
(A graduate of Yale, I have been coaching football since 1970. After two years in the World Football League, as Player Personnel Director in Philadelphia and Assistant General Manager in Portland, I have been a high school coach in the Pacific Northwest since 1976. I have coached internationally, in Finland and Denmark.
Championships on two continents...a national high school single-season scoring record using it ...a pair of running backs on the same high school team rushing for more than 4,000 yards between them... a state rule passed because of large margins of victory.
All because of an offense. An offense I've been running - and developing - since 1990, and I'm as enthusiastic about it now as I was then. In principle, it's as old as the Single Wing, but if your opponents haven't seen it before, it's as new as today.
Actually, the Single Wing was the first offense I ever knew. My high school ran it from the seventh grade on up, and in college, I was pressed into duty to play scout team tailback whenever we played Princeton, a legendary Single Wing team. (We always gave our defense fits.)
Years later, I rediscovered the deception, the double-teaming, the angle and trap blocking of the Single Wing, modernized as the Delaware Wing-T. Maybe it was old-fashioned, but it was out of cycle, and therefore new to our opponents. (Ara Parseghian won a National Championship at Notre Dame in 1973 running the Wing-T, when it was also "out of cycle.")
Its ball-handling and blocking schemes looked intricate to others, but the unique numbering system and terminology we had developed while using the Run-and-Shoot made it relatively easy to teach the Wing-T to our kids, and the Wing-T enabled us to compete against schools which consistently outmanned us. The only thing missing from the Single Wing was raw power. I was about to find it - in Finland, of all places.
I'd been spending my summers coaching American football in Finland, and there, in 1987 and 1988, my team was hammered by a team called the Helsinki Roosters. Actually, the Roosters were hammering everybody. They were the defending European champions, and their coach, a Californian named Don Markham, was running up scores with a unique variation of the Wing-T.
It was a Double-Wing - a lot of us who've run the Wing-T have lined up in it on occasion. The wingbacks, turned in at 45°, were in 3-point stances; and the fullback, so shallow he could reach out and touch the quarterback's tail, was also in a 3-point stance, practically invisible to the defense. Finally, the line splits were tight - real tight. In many cases, shoe-to-shoe.
On nearly every play, one or the other of the wingbacks went in motion, but the ball was snapped so quickly that it was difficult for the defense to react to the motion. The mainstays of the attack were a power off-tackle and a fullback trap - run to either side.
The main difficulty with stopping the power was getting enough defenders to the point of attack. But at the same time, your backers couldn't forget about the hidden fullback, or the trap would kill you.
That power play would really set up the rest of my Wing-T package, which leaned toward traps and misdirection. But it appeared to demand such a radical change in my basic offensive set that I went on running the pure Delaware Wing-T.
Then, in 1990, I was offered the chance to start up a Finnish team from scratch - teaching the game to thirty-five young, strong athletes, only two of whom had ever seen an actual game of football before, much less played in one. This meant not only teaching them the fundamentals we routinely expect junior high kids to have, but it also meant teaching them an offense and a defense - the perfect chance to experiment with the Double-Wing! What could I lose? There was no sense splitting an end - nobody on the team could throw or catch the ball yet, anyhow.
So I installed it, and I've never regretted it. My numbering system and terminology helped make the offense comprehensible, even to the non-English speakers on the team, and within two seasons, running the Double Wing, we won the Division II National Championship.
Returning to the States, I introduced the Double Wing in Ridgefield, Washington, where, over the next three seasons, despite having below-average talent, we ran for well over 300 yards per game. Meanwhile, Don Markham, coaxed out of retirement in Bandon, Oregon, took the Bandon Tigers to the state Class AAA finals in 1991, his second year there. Along the way, his offense ran up such outrageous scores that rival coaches petitioned for (and got) the so-called "Don Markham" rule - any time a team gets on top by 45 points, the game is stopped.
In 1994, Don returned to California to coach Bloomington High School, reeling from a 1-9 season in 1993. In its first year of running Don's Double Wing, Bloomington went 14-0, winning a state title and scoring 880 points in 14 games - a new national high school single-season scoring record.
That same year, I was asked by Coach Gary Garland at Washougal, Washington to help him make the transition from the Wing-T to the Double Wing. His Washougal Panthers finished 9-0, unbeaten for the first time in school history, and Coach Garland was named Southwest Washington Coach of the Year.
In 1995, running the offense to near-perfection, Coach Art Osmundson's Ridgefield team went 13-0, and won the state Class A championship (first state title ever for any team from our corner of the state). Including playoff games, Ridgefield averaged 47.3 points a game; its left halfback and fullback set a new state record with over 4,000 yards between them!
Many of the Double Wing's advantages are already well-known to those who run a more conventional Wing-T:
(1) The strong running game lets you control the ball - and keep the other team's offense off the field. (Now, that is good defense!)
(2) Offensive linemen love it! They get to dish out the punishment. They block with good angles, and they get to deliver hits out in the open, where people can actually see them;
(3) You've always got a game plan! The blocking rules (Delaware's, for the most part) have been tested over time; they'll work against anything your opponents can throw at you;
(4) It allows you to call plays with a purpose. No more grab-bagging. This is sequence football, so you're always probing.
(5) Defenses can't go all-out. This offense feeds on defensive over-eagerness. We are always on the lookout for the lineman who over-penetrates, the linebacker who overpursues, the backside defender who doesn't stay home, the defensive back who supports too eagerly;
(6) You get more quality practice reps. The relatively small core of basic running plays enables you to concentrate on practicing the things you'll actually run in the game;
(7) It is not quarterback-intensive - not to anywhere near the extent that most other offenses are. Naturally, the better your quarterback, the more effective you'll be; but if number one goes down at Wednesday's practice, you still have a chance on Friday night;
(8) Weather isn't a problem - at least not as much for you as for your opponents;
(9) Even fair backs can look good; good backs can look great;
(10) Defenders face conflicting reads, causing them to question the intelligence of their coaches (making defensive disarray work for you);
(11) It is team-oriented. Lots of people get to touch the ball. Every block, on every play, is potentially crucial. Every man feels important, because, in fact, he is;
(12) Film study is especially productive, because you can isolate, point out exactly why any play failed, and you can begin to correct the mistake. (Very rarely, by the way, does a play fail because your man just plain got whipped. It is usually a matter assignment or technique, both of which you can remedy with coaching);
(13) It's very difficult to prepare for. Opponents' scout offenses will never run the offense as well as your kids!
In addition to the advantages it has in common with the Wing-T, the Double-Wing has several strong points all its own:
(1) It forces defenses to balance up. It is not wise of them to overshift, because every right-handed play you run has a left-handed twin. You have the ability to strike anywhere along the front;
(2) The defense must defend 10 gaps. Even after motion, there are still 9 gaps;
(3) The quickness of the motion leaves little time for defenses to react;
(4) You can get four men into patterns quickly;
(5) Blitzes are less of a problem, thanks to the tight splits;
(6) Pulling linemen don't have so far to run, also thanks to the tight splits;
(7) The fullback is a bigger threat. Having him closer to the line improves his kick-out angle on the power, conceals him on the trap, and enables him to sneak out unnoticed into pass patterns;
(8) Counters are more powerful. Having a tight end on the backside strengthens the blocking on counters;
(9) Having two tight ends develops players. It's a good way to teach the game in your junior programs;
(10) It is expandable. Using the same basic offensive package, we can - and do - run from a variety of balanced and unbalanced looks.
I would be less than candid if I didn't point out that there are certain pitfalls to running the offense, many of which are familiar to Wing-T coaches:
(1) People claiming they key your guards. First of all, don't let them worry you. "Keying the guards" sounds great at clinics, but they've only got a week to teach it, and even if they do teach it, at some point in the game their linebackers are going to begin standing up a little straighter, looking into your backfield, trying to find the ball! In any event, here is our clinic response:
(a) Key-breakers. For example, it's possible to run the power while pulling both guards to the backside, crossing the guards, or not pulling either guard;
(b) Unbalanced sets. This forces a defense either to stay put, and be outflanked, or to shift over, and play against unfamiliar keys.
(2) Pressure to satisfy one single individual. This is not an offense for the selfish star. Defenses can gang up to stop any one play or player, but in doing so, they open themselves up to attack somewhere else. You've got to be intelligent enough to recognize it, disciplined enough to take what they give you, even if the star gets left out.
(3) The frustrations of the now-extinct "wide receivers." Start out by eliminating the term "receiver" from your vocabulary! Those kids are going to have to learn to love contact - and play tight end, running back or defensive back. Maybe, just maybe - if their hands are unusually good - you can find a way to play them in spot situations;
(4) The influence of the NFL - don't underestimate it. What you are doing may be effective, but in the eyes of the Sunday fan, it's "old-fashioned." You have to have enough confidence in what you're doing to live with the parents and local media people who can't understand why you don't "open things up" - why you don't "pass the ball more."
(5) The temptation to try to do too much. The possibilities of this offense are limitless, but you need to be very careful not to try to do too much, because anything new will steal reps from the basic core of plays. (Which is the only reason why we haven't begun to tap the offense's great option potential);
(6) The importance of details. Not every coach has the mental makeup to be fussy about the little things. But with this offense, the little things will win for you - or beat you. And since a breakdown can occur anywhere (as the auto parts ad says, "there are no unimportant parts"), you must pay minute attention to detail - especially ball-handling and fumble prevention. You must be able to visualize how every play should look, and because every player's job is important, you must know every player's job. You and your staff must never let even the tiniest mistake go uncorrected. And you must convince your players of the importance of this. If that's not your style, this is not the offense for you.
If those potential pitfalls haven't scared you away, you may be ready to run the Double-Wing successfully. Thanks to the logic and simplicity of the play-calling system, I have been able to install it at high schools and youth programs all over the country, as well as overseas, and I've run it enough and seen enough of it to assure you that it has passed the test.

No word yet on who's coaching the game. I've heard Crutchfield (Duarte) or Snyder (Rowland) have a good shot at the East gig.
Top 10 positions will be coming later this summer.
While we clearly don't "copyright" the pseudonyms that we post under, if you are going to rip off someones handle -- at least write something somewhat intelligent and offer a little analysis.
That was pretty weak.
How old are you?
8? 11?
ARAM, ANY IDEA WHO'S COACHING THE HALL OF FAME GAME, AND ANY ROSTER FOR IT YET?
hey aram are u going to post the top ten for positions such as qb's, wr's, lb's, u get wat im saying
