Why is that hate? God Lord is everything concerning Damien off limits? You guys were ranked #2 and then you miss the playoffs...who's fault is that! Maybe it's the coach or maybe it's the players or maybe it's injuries....but it had to be something. Okay I'll look the other way while you make up an excuse other than you were over rated.
I can fill you in on the softball all star game as i am responsible for putting it together. It has been about 12 years since the ladies of the valley had their own all star game. Kelly Ford at Mt. sac has been very inspirational in offering her fine facility. Several weeks ago I sent out nomination letters to softball coaches and AD's. I then accumulated a list of seniors coaches thought worthy. I then asked coaches that have n]been around a few years and put in their time. They have been good for the sport and lead good examples. Scott Higuera at Charter oak and Roberta Garcia at Diamond Bar stepped up. Several other softball coaches volunteered to help. I will catch them next year. I then collected phone numbers from the area coaches and started contacting each player individually, with the help of the coaches. Now here we are a few days from the game, we have two fine teams representing the north and south of the San Gabriel Valley and a beautiful stadium. We even had a sponsor step up, Pro Sports, and donated t-shirts and visors for coaches and players. The Foothill-Citrus umpiring association is donating their time and sending me four umpires. Next year I hope to have more people on board. Maybe a San Gabriel Valley service club like Rotary or Kiwanis would like to help get involved. A little publicity from Aram and the Tribune is all we need. After that, Wednesday night at Mt. Sac, starting at 6pm, you should see some good 9 innings of softball.

Let's see if I can help with the baseball side of this ...
1) Announcements about what? ... The players are nominated by their high school coaches. They are then selected by a group of coaches from various leagues and schools.
2) They have been told by their high school coaches or by phone calls from the coaches that are coaching the All-Star Game.
3) The coaches from around the valley are asked who wants to coach the game. They say yes or no. They are then decided by peers. Usually a coach that has done it the previous year does not do it the next year.
4) Yes, they are all seniors.
