East scrimmage ... What happened? ...

Can you fill me in?. I missed the scrimmage ... Playa Del Rey is all I have to say. Also, I was far, far from home earlier in the night but I still ran into two SGV sports fans who wanted to talk local sports. Hello, and don't think I forgot you guys. Small world.

I think that point about Chavez and Mendrun is very interesting. I seen Damien this year and I'll tell you they better be able to run the ball or Pertusati will not make it to league and the second string QBs will be atrociuos! None of them are starters on any team in the SGV except Glendora.

If you look at the South Hills QBs and compare them to Damien's it's easy to see the difference in talent and fundamentals. One QB that I did like was the QB from SEM. That kid never gave up and really understands the game.

I'll be there today at South Hills and expect to be dazzled by the SH trio and St Bonny's legendary staff.

Got to give Bogan credit for the level of competition he exposes his team to. Maybe one of the South Hills QBs will transfer to Damien and hook up with all that speed...or maybe the other way around.

Your kid must be a lineman! I agree that there is a big difference between a passing game and a real game. It's the same as pre-season NFL, or spring training MLB. It's a climse at the up coming season. Obviously, things will be more intense when 250 + lineman are running after you, or linebackers are flying around the corner. Passing games, let us see who can throw and who can catch. If you have seen some of these local schools in passing games lately, then you know some of them are over rated. The QB's and recievers get blown up for their skills, when they are actually not any better than most. They have a "O" line during the season. Schools with a small "O" line, like Bonita. Had a QB, J.Chavez. Who threw to two receivers under 5'9 and a tailback under 5'6 and maybe two lineman over 6'. He tosses for about 2k. Mendrum from Damien, has recievers 5'10 or taller and a "O" line above 6'2 and he's the best thing since Christmas. You switch the two and I bet Mendrum gets left off the All Star game the same way Chavez did. So, when we see Qb's struggling at passing games, should we believe they will do better with their "O" line? No one is putting pressure on them in the passing game and they still can not hit a reciever. You would think they would be nails, with out a pass rush.

Their's a passing league game at South Hills. Are they playing a real game? and when I say real game are their lineman involve? Are they both wearing pads and ready to hit someone. If not then its just another practice for all the squads present. Everybody knows passing league is totally different from football. In some case its just not real football. Dont get me wrong the athletes show up to play. But playing tag and actually hitting somone are completely different. When you have a 6 foot 4 lineman in front of you trying rampage the QB. I believe its quite different. Bottom line is, football is only football with pads on. Have fun watching two hand touch, let me know if any of these school plays in a real game then maybe it will be worth watching.

There is going to be a passing league tournament at South Hills tomorrow (7/5) at about 4:00. South Hills will be playing St. Bonaventure, Bishop Amat, and Diamond Ranch. I know that we are all waiting to see what happens with Amat vs. South Hills. Come see it!!

"What Happened"
I get your drift, I thought the scrimmage & the Bonita passing tournament would draw a lot of
comments, did anyone make it out there? Wonder if any of the local teams stood out at the passing tournament.

Ok, enough already! We are convinced! Glendora will have a undefeated football season, because they are the best team in the nation! NV is the most dominate 17 year old sophomore class in the valley and "The Pride of the Foothills" LL dads want Henley to move on! Got it! Oh yeah, Amat has the best talent for any division 1-5! " and MikeD was a great HS player. Let's hear about something new. You've managed to beat those topics in the ground. How about the local football teams. How many were at Bonita's tourney?
