Aram, I wish you would have written this first. It would have been nice to have our local paper with the scoop about our local CO baseball team.

My primary agenda here is to prop up and support kids that I know or have coached whose names appear in the Tribune.

There is nothing negative about that.

The fact that some unknown (jealous?)individual has to come out from under a rock and chastise me is very funny. What's his (her?) agenda? Did I pass over your son in a Little League draft or not pick him up on my basketball travel team? If you are going to insult my profession at least make it funny and use doughnuts or traffic ticket quotas or some other cliche.

Yes, I've coached alot of kids in football basketball and baseball over the past 12 years. "My kids" are at many schools other than Charter Oak, Glendora and Damien. Some are playing for Azusa, Gladstone, San Dimas, Bonita, Chino Hills, Ayala, Claremont, Western Christian and La Verne Lutheran. I even have one at Serrano.

If they make the paper, you can bet I'll be here to tell the world about it!

Hey Me/Mine your an idiot, I can say as a parent who has had Cop/Coach coach my son for many seasons he is the best coach my son ever had. Cop/Coach would come to a game and watch my son, I would see the smile on my son's face. Cop/Coach was always there for the kids and made them all feel important. Why get all over the guy he's just happy to his ex-players win CIF. I can tell you he did contribute to helping my son get where he is now.

When I picked up the L.A. paper saturday morning at the Red Rocks Casino and saw that Charter Oak had won, I screamed "YES!!!!!!" at the top of my lungs.

Congrats to the Charter Oak coaches and players, especially to "my guys" Tyler Garkow and Ryan Snow.

I just want to say congratulations to Charter Oak, their players & coaches. You truely played as a TEAM. CO outscored their playoff opponets 52-10. That is dominating.

I have watched a lot of SGV teams this year and CO was the best when it counted all year long. CO won their league title again (I think that is 11 out of 13 years now). And to think they won CIF with only 1 player making tonights All-Star game at Mt.Sac.

Again, congrats Coach Quinley on having the best "TEAM". You & your staff deserve Coach of the Year!

Just to clarify because i my message is coming out the wrong way, I dont have a problem with Murphy he did more then a great job with a young team. As a matter of fact he had the guts to put the best players on the field regardless of their age. He is comitted to his program more then most coaches, i just may have a philosophical baseball difference on some minor issues of style. In baseball there are diffent ways of winning it does not mean a coach is better then the other. The game against SM was no one's fault in particular you can question a lot of thigs but at the end of the day the ball will bounce where it wants to bounce. Luck

Why are people so afraid of a little criticism, specially if there is truth to it. Deal with it like a man and try to learn a little so you can be better. You should always keep keep getting better at your craft rather then whine like a girl.
Look at the whole picture, and lets compare CO vs SM, in many ways this was a very similar game. They bunted twice, tried 3 times overall (appropiate), rest of the times they allowed the players to play the game and hit a pitcher that was not dominant (key) If they would have bunted as much as NV they would have scored 3 to 4 instead of 7.

i am a los altos fan, we beat co twice this year, are we better than them, for 1 week this year we were, for the season the best team won, please give them credit, were not crying because they won it all and we beat them twice, they deservred it, yes its hard to watch and here them win it all but i never root against themm u have to be lucky getr breaks and most of all be a very good team, and they proved they were the best around this year, congrats co you guys earned it,

As a long time NV Real Fan, this season was one of our best ever, but this poster NVFAN is ruining it for us. Our parents can't stand him. In a time of pride and joy, we're here on YOUR blog defending our boys and the coaches when there is nothing to defend. If my boy was still playing in high school, I would've been proud of him to be a part of this team of great kids and would've been honored if he played for Coach Murphy and his staff. This team was the most surprising and exciting team (my opinion) in the sgv and this coaching staff did more and got more out of this team than any other coach. It's a no brainer to me who is coach of the year in the sgv. Do us all a favor and hit the delete button next to his name.

Will you ever reveal yourself? After that as if it would ever happen, I would know if you ever watched the team play this year and saw that they played that kind of offense all year. Could you not see that Santa Monica could not defend the bunt? (one was thrown away and another was a hit) "Max Mercy" didn't say the defense was terrible. He was factual, they didn't make two plays in the seventh. That separates them from being in LA last night. Plain and simple. I'm not sure why I waste my time here with your classless and useless analogy of the game, but it's tired and not funny. We lost. All of us that care about this team and coaches lost something that day. Be respectful if you care about Northview at all and let us all remember the remarkable season they had.

Soto is cool dude on our team this year NV Spectator but he was not one of our best pitchers. Were all f***** pissed about not winning but it was a loss for all of us. You can ask the other guys on team, not just me and they'll tell you the best guys pitched for us. Rodgriguez and Andrade were the best pitchers on our team, look at what they did. 2007 Vikings-I love you guys. Peace Out.

I just love all my fans who are so angry, the truth is that not once have i ripped any of the players from NV from losing this game, hell you have a guy "Max Mercy" ripping the defense on the 7th innining.
The tuesday lost was really not one individual's fault, i do rip Murphy a little because he felt in love with the bunt way too much and in essense allowed the other team to stay close. So vikingpride you sound like a sour bitter dad who has not gotten any sleep since tuesday, get over it clown and stop spending your food stamps on beer.
I do realize that most of you have never won anything in your life and just when you thought you had it, BOOM! you are back in reality.

who was aj soto at nv? there's a kid named RJ, Aj?. i saw nv play a lot of games this year and everyone that actually knows the game and this team would say robert rodriguez and marc andrade were easily their two best pitchers all season. those two kids were two of the valley's best.

Not to take ANYTHING away from Charter Oak, but Wilson won a CIF volleyball championship over Brentwood, I believe as well. Maybe Amat will make it number three tonight. I am proud of all that represents our Valley well.

You think every player and coach didn't think all night last night that that should have been them!! They have had pretty good luck against CO this year and it would have been one helluva fight. Quinley and Murphy are friends and these kids all know each other. Leave Murphy alone, he has done an amazing job - ask his parents and his kids. Leave these players alone - they have risen to any challenge (well -1) and kicked down every wall they faced. THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL, but mostly they are sad, devastated kids right now still rehashing a loss they cannot figure out yet.

Yeah. NV should of and could of been at that Dodger Stadium game. . . . . If Murphy would've known the pitching talent he had wasting away on the pine, the talent that got him out of no out, bases loaded innings, the talent that got his supposed "best pitchers" out of binds! . . . . . . AJ Soto . . . . . . Probably one of the best pitchers to ever suit up in a NV uniform for years to come.

I heard Nieto had the boys run windsprints "in the dark" last night....just in case! Yeah a player got hurt but it worked for Charter Oak and they play in a tougher division. Champion is as Champion does!

We have the Ring, Good Coaches and Players. Most of the team will be back again year. We were hoping to play NV and were disappointed when they lost. I will prepare myself for all the losers to attack CO. SM fans were bad they booed us when we took pregame and when they announced the player's, no class, but who cares we beat them and beat them good. You're right. That game should've been NV vs. C. Oak. As a fan of the valley, what a disappointment it was watching Santa Monica play today rather than a helluva team Northview. The matchup between C. Oak and NV would've been a special one with all the things inside the game. The coaches know each other well, the players grew up knowing each other, and so on...I saw these two teams play each other in a Thanksgiving Tournament and Scrimmage back in Feb. against each other. I personally think one of the two (black and gold school) is better, but tonight is C. Oak's night, so congrats to C. Oak.

Just got home from my son's game - missed all the action, although Tiffany's mom called me right after they had won. Could hardly hear her on my cell - everyone in the background was going crazy! Hey, Aram, your prediction of the final score was almost right on. It was nice to read the play-by-play, even after the fact. Great job Charter Oak players and coaches! Totally awesome experience. CONGRATULATIONS!!

Ahh man, I love those taquitos. About the girl, I've made a habit of scoring way above my head. But this night isn't about me, it's about CO BASEBALL. Wow, what a team. Really, these guys do everything right. The defense tonight was solid, the hitting was aggressive and fundamental and the pitching wasn't dominant but it was effective. Awesome team. FIRST CIF CHAMP IN A TEAM SPORT THIS YEAR FOR AN SGV TEAM!
