Contrary to your post, I think the Glendora people are mostly tolerant to the fact that many people crap on their community for mainly jealous reasons.

I have read time and time again comparable situations with other faithful (i.e. Damien parents getting totaly bent out of shape when one of their own "Damien Dad (frank)" had a few not so pleasant things to say about his team or how about Amat faithful when bleedsblungold had some suggestions for his team). You see it really is very common for supporters of a particular school to react when their program is questioned by one of their own. Kinda similar to a praying mantis or blackwindow spider eating their mate for dinner after sex.

Also, I can understand why Mike the Clone has plenty of support from Amat and Covina blogers but has absolutley ZERO support from any Tartan football parent currently with a child on the team. Can we all be wrong about Mike?

First of all please sir take no offense from my question as I sincerely mean it with all due respect, is the issue with Mike within the Glendora community mainly about his usage of this blog and his lack of fear to express his opinion to the entire SGV?

I get that impression from your post and I tend to believe that Glendorsa would rather keep any deficiencies behind closed doors so to speak, am I incorrect about this?

Every program has room for improvement, be that program in Glendora, Covina or anywhere else for God sakes. I am a Covina guy and luv the school dearly but at the same time I can be a major critic of many institutions at Covina, why? Because there are issues and to hide them doesnt help correct them. As far as my comments towards Covina go on the blog I use this as a sounding board, I at times have been told I am crazy (I have backed off and apologized if the opinions had merit) and I have been backed anonymously by others (Helps me see if I have my facts straight). Sometimes its only one response back towards me, I hit a chord with someone and others were silent (To be honest sometimes silence tells me more than words)...

It is tremendous that you are "proud of the boys and support the program". From what I've read, I think that "The Clone" is proud as well. I'd bet he supports the program too. You can be proud of someones effort yet still offer some truthful and specific critique that is intended to educate, motivate and improve the recipient. I don't remember reading anything "malicious" from him and he's even defended GHS kids several times.

When someone blindly supports the boys to the point of myopia that is what is counterproductive. Running around as a "button wearer", as Mike calls them saying, that everything is great and we will be OK because, "Mighty are the Boys that wear the Red and Black" and "Tartan Pride" will overcome all obstacles, leads you right down the path to mediocrity. I (we) know that all too well. No one wants friends like that and we certainly don't want coaches and administrators like that. And I'm pretty certain that you would not want business associates like that.

I'd also wager that nothing that Mike has ever said on this blog is something that he wouldn't say to that player (or coaches) face) That's the kind of guy he sounds like.

I wonder what your boss thinks of you. How successful can you be if you still receive a pay check instead of issuing pay checks?

Us button wearers, are proud of our boys and truly support our program. We work hard in fund raising and volunteer our time. We understand that the program is not perfect and we communicate that within the proper channels. Why do you see a need to broadcast to the blog world the short-commings of the program other then to feed that huge ego of yours? Why do you think so many supporters of the program, including the kids, think so low of you? Ask yourself, am I serious about improving the program that you apparently support or are you more interested in showing the world you are right? Would you speak low of your own son on this blog instead of taking the time to communicate person to person. Then Mike, why the need to trash all your boys you apparently love so much.

I hang with a group of “bagpiper” honks all the time. Some played high school ball, some collegiate ball, some have coached at the high school level. And some are just football hacks. We all have friends still coaching in the high school ranks or involved in football at some level or another.

I get my takes from all these guys as we discuss what goes on so in a sense my opinions come from many sources and analogies. None of these guys are “button wearers” none of them. They have good knowledge of what goes on and off a football field and we are all brutally honest with each other. Basically we all have that competitive arrogance you might say. We don’t accept losing and when we lose we don’t accept it lightly especially when you are not prepared.

Believe me I had my share of Mike the Clones pounding my ears and it comes with the territory. Most of these guys smacking me think I’m calling on Mark to resign and bullshit like that…utter non-sense. I have said this many of times Mark is a great guy and the kids respect him.

With me and my group of friends it’s just a football philosophy plain and simple.

We are all pretty successful in what we do now and we still love the game of football and are happy for the doors the game has opened for us. As you can see it’s the arrogance and the brutal honesty that pisses people off, because they grew up treated as veil, you know soft.

Now how’s that for a Dr, Phil/Phillis or whatever session

The coolaide drinkers (aka Mike the Clone fans) will remain blind to all the pissed off people and groups the clone has insulted. They ask for "when, where and how" and you have provided numerous cases (Jr. All American coaches, 3rd commandmant, Glendora coaches, etc.....) and they keep asking for more. These coolaide drinkers will never be satisfied. They change the wording of posts around (i.e. CIF patch, etc..) to support their rant.

Again, the Glendora Faithful does not support Mike. I'm still looking for ONE of the many Glendora Faithful to speak up and lend support to Mike. Come on now, there must be at least one.

Of course, Mike can always use one of his many alias to again support himself!

Bonita Tourney (Yesterday)

Went to the Bonita yesterday and caught an eye-full of some teams that looked great. Damien's QB (Eschardies) and WR (Beneto and company) looked impressive. Beneto caught everything thrown at him (even some greased lawn-darts). He jumped-on-it like a seasoned veteran. I can't wait to see him pad-up and perform this year. Eschardies arm and foot-work in the box looked steady and confident. He truely displayed his leadership abilities and qualities. Look for this dude to score points.

Glendora paired-off against Garey, Covina, and Bonita. Covina by far gave GHS their best challenge. The Colts looked athletic and well schooled. Their DB's and secondary displayed great approach on the ball/positioning. As I've said before, the Colts may have lost a grip of solids, but they haven't lost their competitive edge.

Bonita had a couple of WR that could lay-it-out (Jack Snow) style. For those of you who have no idea who JS was....think Notre Dame... think the LA Rams...think clutch supine grabs as he went airborne like superman in the end-zone. What an athlete!....(Forgive me I'm showing my age). Anyway, Bonita had a crop of players that impressed with a secondary that appeared ready for battle.

GHS looked solid. Coaches appeared satisfied with their showing. The Kluz angled it where it should-be and hit his mark on several occasions. His box-steps looked more relaxed as he displayed confidence at the helm. WR's (Johnson) and (Stockham) and (Gonzales) looked impressive as they grabbed a few for solid ground. GHS had great timing on D....secondary is just awesome (say no more).....deep-back Edwards had it going-on with speed and athletic aggressiveness. Not much will get by him. Meraz looked focused and determined...and played like it. Great job! Other plaidy's stepped-it-up as outsiders checked-out what all the noise and talk was about in the GHS camp. Everyone in ear shot walked away impressed how well we matured from last year. Keep up the good work!

My suggestion for you is for you to just sit back make notes of all these guys as you would say who run their smack towards you. I have seen these same guys go after you before and although you can pretty much handle yourself you just need to sit back and relax and watch these guys slobber all over themselves. Mikey watch the fools on parade because as one guy suggested if they would go back and read your past post nothing you haven't said hasn't turned out to be true. Let them put the nunbers on the table and let them justfy them, My guess is not to many will because they can't. A coaches moment by Plaid-Lad

We had a travel game up north to play ball with a prominent HS team. We bashed the crowd with a victory and then re-entered our bus for that long route home. Complaining that we were all hungry our Coach convinced the bus driver to pull-off the freeway at a Micky-D's. With a pocket full of money our beloved 400+lb coach stepped off the bus and grabbed me to help him carry back the x-large order for 60 hungry dudes. Our coach waddled up to the counter and said in a deep bartone voice, "I'll take 120 burgers and 60 fries and one x-large Diet Coke....cuz I'm watching my weight." The young girl taking our order looked at coach and examined his size and replied, "Will you be eating that entire meal here?" Coach quickly caught the muffled laughter of the customers behind him and attempted to regain some respectability....but it was for not. I, of course doubled over in laugther. With embarrassment on his face Coach collared me and made me swear that I would never tell anyone what had just happened. I kept that promise till now. I was curious about what in the world you did to upset all of these people (All though my money is on 1 or maybe 2 bloggers under different pseudonyms coming after you), I read Arams blog daily and truthfully have never seen you brazenly and/or overtly attack anyone or any program...

Since I havent seen anything out of line I asked these bloggers to clarify their position (Hardly a request for the interruption of free speech), I wanted to know what "Mike the Clone" said or did to bring this on? I mean I obviously missed something, didnt I?

Here is where I stand, if your going to call me an S.O.B. then do so but if you do then expect me to ask one simple question of you, why in your opinion am I an S.O.B.???

I read it daily and never ever have seen the Clone make any comments that I consider out of line towards anybody or any football program, he states his opinion tactfully and seems like a decent guy...

Am I missing something? Please tell me what that may be for I see endless banter towards the Clone and it is never backed up with the exact reason for that sort of hostility...

You see Plaid-Lad is a realist and knows the deal and deals with it. He is just not as “blunt” as I am. I have agreed with him like 98% on what he has posted over this past week.

Motivating the kids is not my job, that's the coach’s job. Motivation is done in film study, on the field and in the locker room. But seems to me that you guys have never been in a film study or locker room before so I’d expect comments like that from you guys.

So since Plaid-Lad didn’t give you guys the Sierra league Championship and a CIF title I fully expect you goofs to smack the Plaid-Lad for not doing so.

Joe the comment I made about my coach probably fits most honored coaches..... Yes, your right....Coach Rodgers was a special person and those that played for him gloried the experience not with wins, but by remembering how he changed and molded our young life's.

While the name was not mentioned specifically, Plaid-Lad does describe Coach Joe Rodger to a tee. Plaid - is it true?

Remembering Coach

Alot can be said about those that we graciously call Coach. Mine was a mamouth of a man tipping in at 400+ lbs. The way he walked across the field had nothing to do with expected "respect"...hell he "demanded it"...and if you cherished your health and well-being you surcame to that demand. When he spoke you listened...even though the lights appeared ON in your head...and the mind was elsewhere. If he caught you on the nod...look out cuz his rathe was off the wall. Fear?..Yup, I'd say so...respect, always...did we learn? You bet!, Did we all love him? Yes, we did...too the sweet-bitter end, as we all gathered at his funeral. Do we still think of him?..."Often." Thanks Coach you did us well.

i can't beleive your comment, regarding Tartan lineman "slow, weak and undercoached lineman". Pasky himself is the lineman coach. several of the o & d lineman bench press 335 lbs to 350 lbs, theres a D lineman who does the 40 in 4.7 GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU MOUTH OFF!

So you know (I don't see it mentioned on your important dates), LINEMAN COMPETITION at LOS OSOS HIGH SCHOOL this SATURDAY at 9:00 AM. Many HS teams will be there including GLENDORA TARTANS. Good time to check out these O & D linemen studs. This competition was at Ayala HS last year.

If your use of the word "SCRUB" soley defines those athletes that never played "first-string," then notify the National Guard because the entire country is definitely plaqued with a whole lot of "scrubs"....which would also include you.

Mike he's right that Glendora line is made up of slow, weak and undercoached lineman.I know, I heard it all last season from you. Except YOUR son. Because obviously YOU coached him and gave him and his select friends extra coaching tips and man sized burgers. Besides there are only 1 or 2 starters back from last year.

Give it up Mike they are scrubs and you know it. Most decent linemen don't sit on the bench their junior years. Scrub a dub a dooey...scrubs! All together now!

Looking at this from a non-biased viewpoint:
WEST:
I think the west is being looked past but that squad is very talented and is going to put up a hell of a fight.The west has the skill position players to rival the East though certainly not as flashy a squad...The question is how the West is able to handle the size of the east squad.Looking at the East, I think they have a little bit less speed on defense then what you would hope for cosnidering they will have to face ZION BABB who might run wild on this secondary.Also, Quarterback David Potts is sure to be chased from the pocket a few times in this one; but, I think Potts is going to be able to step up in the pocket and find holes to run through for good chunkcs of yardage.Lavell Peterson is the real deal, too....He is going to definately be a handfull for thsi east defense.Shawn Sparks is very underrated as well.The little guy packs a big punch and could leave some of the eastsiders on thier backs if they don't look out for him.Broadnax is a bit overrated, the guy is "ok" but don't believe the hype.He is more a product of the system.Looking at the west squad, it is obvious that on paper; they are a dramatic underdog but don't count them out just yet..
EAST:
The East has it all or at least it seems as if they do.Offensively, this may be one of the best groups the SGV has ever had to offer...I mean you look at the overwhelmingly powerfull Line; coupled with the great running backs and wideouts...Not to mention, three very talented quarterbacks(4 if you count Chase).Starting with the runninbacks, you have to look at Aaron Harris and Jordan edmond right away.Harris is a greta player whose been stuck on a bad team for quite some time...Now, we come into this game and he has a chance to prove to everyone that he can play against top level competition.He comes in with a lot to prove.Then there is Jordan Edmond...Edmond is one of the fastest guys out there, he has great burst through holes and with this line; he should be running rampid on the West defense.At wideouts; ya got the big namers with Johnson, Foss, Joe, Easchardies, James, Salazar,etc...This is a great core no doubt...Definately some great targets for Mendrun and McD..Defensively, this team is full of talent everywhere especially the Front 7..Ya got to look to Diaz and Lavea..They will frontline that great line..Then the linebackers are full of talent from AJ,Rosenthal, and Hoop to Hile and Bruno..This linebacking core is sure to be all over the field.The secondary is strong but of all the areas on the East, this is probably sitll the weakest...They got a good secondary no doubt but it is going to be tough trying to match-up the speed of the West...Especially tracking Babb around the field.

RESULT?:
Well, what can ya say?The East is as good as it gets but in the all-star game it is hard to say what will happen...The East is very,very deep..But, in the all-star game they all have talent and when you get so many talents together it is hard to get it completely right...I think the West is going to pull off the MAJOR upset in this one...They are going to find a way to compensate for the size and pull off an upset victory; 26-21.

Reason?:
You don't tell a team they have no chance w/o them wanting to prove you wrong...And who knows in an all-star game?

So...What the hell?Pick the upset...It'll either make me look good or give us someone to trash after the game!

GLENDORA (GHS VS DIAMOND BAR-2007)

As you can see Plaidy got squeezed out of grey-space, so I'll end my review of the 2007 Sierra League (SL) on this sight. My last honk ended with the 2007 GHS and Ayala match-ups.

Well, our season will end on 11/08/07 at Diamond Bar. GHS defeated the Brahams last year with a 30 to 10 victory. That victory earned GHS a third place finish in the Sierra League and a trip to the CIF playoffs. This year might very well be a repeat of last. DBHS is still trying to figure-it-out and the up-coming returners lack the experience and skill of days past. DBHS has always had one or two great athletes with ligthing speed. DBHS Thomas and Warren were those dudes. Unfortunately the DBHS front O-line never produced enough to allow proper execution. Subsequently, Thomas and Warren got the ball on several carries with little pay-back of yards gained. DBHS will once again have their hands full this time around against GHS D-attack...no I meant to say..."assault." If they complete a pass against our deep backers it will be due to one big major misque. I just don't see GHS D or O missing much of the target on this one. Kluz and the boys should make a difinite statement as the lights burn out in the stadium to close out the season. Plaid-Lads pick: GHS by 28

Look at the boy’s Big Reg and A.T. pounding their chest for the east like a couple caged up Tarzan’s. The boy’s are definitely back in town.

Nice round up on the east you guys. And your takes on the west, well that was pretty self-explanatory…not much to say. Do you think Freddie was hiding somewhere or wasn’t answering his phone calls from you guys when you were lining up the drill?

The best part of the whole drill was when Reg tells Aram about his prediction and says he’s got to go with the east on this one, Aram just looks up at the camera with a sly smirk on his face and just grins. If you get a chance, go back and freeze that part of the drill…frecking priceless!

Oh well again, nice job guys and enjoyed it.

What is up with Charter Oak? They couldn't give their players equipment, because it is getting certified! crap! Reach deep in to that boosters program and buy the new equipment and keep it for your up coming season. It's rumored that they were not allowed to wear their jerseys either? Are those getting certified too? Typical C-Town! They are out of the program, so sorry for your luck. Maybe some of "the recruits" will reconsider when transfering to CO, I mean move in to the city.

Well with these two guys coming off the outside who knows whats going to happen on fridays game. I smell sacks coming but not just a couple. good luck to all players this friday.
