MARK YOUR CALENDAR: Top 10 Games of the Year ...

| | Comments (146) |

Quit fronting like you have a social life.

Something tells me that if you read this blog, you'll have plenty of time on your hands between August and December ... and, that's OK. Needless to say, any kind of list isolating the top games of the year is subject to change. Things change. People change. Teams change. At least that's what she said ... minus the whole teams change part. Whatever. Anyway, a game that maybe isn't on the radar right now could be played for the highest stakes of the season. I doubt it, but it's possible. But for now, in the dead of summer, I'm confident in identifying what look like the biggest games of the season. Hopefully, these don't overlap. But if they do, with the Tribune scoreboard and your Iphone, you can be in two places at once.

1a. December 7, Charter Oak vs. South Hills, CIF-SS Southwest Division finals - Quasi kidding.

1b. October 26, Charter Oak at Los Altos - The Miramonte League title and a top four seed in the Southwest Division playoffs figure to be on the line this night, unless Roddy and the Panthers get crazy again. Anyway, this is a huge rivalry even when patches aren't up for grabs. Did you know Los Altos hasn't beaten CO since The Miramontes Miracle in 2004?

2. October 12, South Hills at Los Altos - A battle of Southwest Division heavyweights, this could be a semifinals preview. Two of the area's most successful programs, two of its top coaches and, of course, Dorian Wells vs. Bryce McBride. Don't think the former teammates turned competitors storyline won't be in-play.

3. October 12, Damien vs. Glendora, at Citrus Coll. - OK, we've got a nasty overlap here with South Hills/Los Altos on the same night. Coin flip and decide. This is a huge game for the Tartans and Spartans as it's the Sierra League opener for both. The loser can probably forget about a league title and faces a climb to secure a playoff berth.

4. September 21, Glendora at Charter Oak - Big Lou wants the Mayor's Trophy back. Glendora's front seven doesn't give anything back.

5. October 12, Northview vs. Covina, at District Field - OK, October 12 is going to be a nightmare. Is this the night that Northview tosses its big rival from the Valle Vista League throne? We're going to find out everything we need to know about the VVL on this night.

6. October 12, St. Paul at Bishop Amat - More October 12. What a night! I might have to chopper to all of these games for a quarter. Anyway, given all that's happened at Amat this off-season, nothing would be as bad as losing to St. Paul. I don't know what Lancer fans will do if that happens. Major blood rivalry here.

7. November 2, Arroyo at Rosemead - No disrespect to South El Monte, who I fully expect will split with Arroyo and Rosemead once again. But by this date, the Knights and Panthers will have both played SEM, which probably makes this game the difference maker in the Mission Valley League. Plus, this rivalry has a longer history of meaningful games.

8. September 7, Monrovia at Duarte - If, and that's a big "if," Duarte is able to win this game, it could signal an official power shift between the neighboring cities. And to the victor goes the spoils, a.k.a the talent pool. Duarte's resurgence just won't be official until the Falcs beat the 'Cats. It's great to have these two teams playing a biggie!

9. October 5, Bonita at San Dimas - Little boys from these two communities dream of winning this game since they're old enough to pee in the pool at Raging Waters. Smudge Pot - now that's a rivalry!

10. November 11, Loyola at Bishop Amat - Think about the Amat season ticket plan - you get Orange Lutheran, St. Paul, Notre Dame and Loyola. OK, follow along here - let's say Amat beats Alemany, Crespi or ND, that probably makes the Loyola game for a playoff berth, or a coin flip at least. And even if there's nothing on the line, it's still Amat vs. Loyola and all week I'll remember going to Glendale College in the early 90s six hours before kickoff just to to see Scott Fields run without having to stand along the rope in the end zone.

The Camp varied in age between 1st and 8th grade. It was very diverse and fun for the kids.\

It was great seeing guys that that have played in Division 1 football or the NFL come out and teach these kids some football.

But it was great to see these kids work together depsite their ages and just remember the game is fun as well as competitive.

I dont understand why people have to hate on camps like these. The kids were laughing, learning and just having a great time.

I'd take my kid again next year.

Can Amat Beat Crespi and Sherman Oaks Notre Dame this year?...if the answer is no then the Lancers fail to make the playoffs again......Verti totally on the hot seat if they dont come up with the wins this year. two out of the three league games are at Amat, but does that mean anything anymore?

observantcat said:

I think the Eastsiders are not looking at the same names when you say that Duarte will beat Monrovia this year. Duarte has a great Running Back and decent QB and the line has gone off to college. Monrovia has a few good running backs a Couple of good QBs and their line has stay around for their senior year of HS football. The great thing is that Monrovia is rebuilding this year and has all of the Great Duarte Hawkes Super Bowl runner up champions attending MHS. This game is always a good game to go to for the exitment but I think that Monrovia will prevail again as they have for the last 15 years.

And now...a reality check for Mr. Realist...

Bishop Amat owns a 19-8-1 winning record vs. Loyola. The vast majority of these victories were against the great Steve Grady. Amat always was "Grady's bane" because no matter how good Loyola was, they always had trouble with the Lancers and most of the contests were extremely close ones. Amat has also defeated Loyola the last two years including Loyola's Div 1 Champ team in 2005.

We own the Cubbies. If Amat is cold, Loyola is frozen solid.

You should make sure YOU'RE not high when you advise someone else to "Just say no to drugs."

Reaist said:

Plaid Lad, Just say no to drugs. We all appreciate your loyalty and enthusiasm, but Loyola knows how to win and has only had one bad season (last season), in recent years. So with all due respect, if they are on the way down then Amat would have to be subterrainian.

PLAID-LAD said:

Response: Joe Amat

Here is the straight scoop from Loyola. Grady left the field at Cubbyland because the future enrollment could not help his beloved tropy case any longer.

Making the championship every year takes alot of key personnel on and off the field, as you well know. Grady saw the wave that was enroute to plague the future seasons (as it is now)and decided to hightail-it out from coaching while on top.

He parted under good terms stating faimly life was something he wanted to concentrate more on. So much for bouncing the laddy's off his scarred knee's in retirement-ville.

Hearing of his return does not surprise me either. Grady was the selling point for young athletes in the hope that they would attend the school and play ball.

With Grady retired (so to speak) Loyola lost some of its glory and common zeal.

The real question behind his possible return would be why come back in the capacity of a D-coach? Why not just ask for his old job back.

I'm almost sure the admin staff at Loyola still have the picture frame marks left on his coaching office walls from all the teams he took to the promise-land.

Or maybe he realizes what I speak it true, and he does not want to begin years of a major build-up and have to endure those losing seasons that might haunt him.

Either way Loyola is in a downward swing and Amat & Verti are not. Coach D left Amat in good shape...unlike Grady leaving Loyola.

I played against Grady while in HS and I know first hand what he brings to the field.

Have patience JA cuz the Lancer's are going to fur their collars with Cub-hide. What a sharp look on a lettermen's jacket!

Response 2: My Picks

Interesting prospects on your upcoming picks for the 2007 season.

Regarding the LA victory over CO (27-17)? CO has more horse-power then you give them credit. The game will difinitely be a close one with CO edging LA by 3 or 7 pts.

Regarding the LA victory over South Hills (28-24)??? SH is a flat-out better coached team then LA. SH is going to blow the socks off of LA with a 14 to 17 point margin of victory.

Regarding the Damien victory over GHS (31-17)???
By you posting this only reflects on one thing...that you should only be "picking" your underwear out of your a_ _ (rear).

Damien does not have what you think in the huddle anymore. Those that dominated last year are all gone. Morrison will be on a re-build this time around with the advantage going to GHS and Coach Pasky and their SENIOR EXPERIENCED players. GHS will dominate and prove to all that they are the premiere dominate SGV team to those nay-sayers. A GHS victory will say it all.

Regarding the Loyola victory you posted over Amat (27-24)??? Amat and Verti are going to post a big win over Loyola. Amats skilled players are going to school the Cubs and prove once and for all they haven't lost a thing in early transfers to other schools and that Verti and Company know how to coach and win.

Wow, it took you less than 24 hours to badmouth the camp. Good for you! I thought the organized eight vs. eight miniscrimmages were fun. My son enjoyed himself and I'm sure your son did too, if you even have a son. I'm pretty sure you heard from a friend about the camp and just wanted to badmouth it.My son had one on one time with Rix, McCutcheon, and Ryan Smith. Worth the money any way you try to spin it. And you obviously don't like the school so you will spin it negatively.

I like how you used two monikers to express your opinion. I suggest you use unsatisfied parent next or waste of time. I'll use great camp or Legend attendee. But now that you know what I will use and maybe you will use those names and I'll have to change it up.And we will just go back and forth.

Heard one of the asst. principles, who was walking the field say that about 50 kids showed up. I'm sure there were others, but the bigger names I saw were:

Daylon McCutcheon
Wesley Walker
Chris Rix (who had someone passing out flyers for his own "training academy" after camp was done)

After stretching, the kids went through a circuit of agility drills (ladders, hurdles, cones, etc.)

Then, they did some position drills with the respective coach/alumni. This was the best part of the camp, in my opinion.

After a break of gatorade, and a slice of pizza, they did some more position drills, and then they played some chaotic mini-scrimmages (which in my opinion, were a waste of time) before closing down.

You sound like a San Dimas fan/parent etc....

If your are, I saw something yesterday that kinda caught my eye from across the field while at SD. It appeared as if SD and WC "big boys" were squaring-off in a controled exercise "one on one" against each other without any protection. No helmets, shoulder-pads etc....what was that all about? I thought it was strange with the season just around the corner. Who would want to get hurt participating in that particular exercise? Why would the coaches condon it? Just my observation.

I think you might be right on with San Dimas and West Covina. San Dimas looked very surprising yesterday and Barbone looks ready as can be. What an athlete...

I really liked the play of Mike Edwards yesterday. He can play the game. Wasn't impressed with the lack of speed from Glendora' linebackers. Big, but movement was slow!

I think the QB's both at SD and Glendora have to improve on being more consistent in throwing the ball. Hopefully time will improve their abilities and they will learn and gain more confidence.

Oh well, its just passing league.

Hang in there lancers said:

Even in negative times there are positive things that are occurring at Amat. The positive is that several former pro players who had attended Amat in the past are starting to become more active at the school. These former players appear to have notice the changes and they are making their presence known by helping and giving advice to several players. If this was planned by Verti, then it was a good plan. Throw that man one "bone". If not, then give much love to the alums because these former players may do something for Verti that he is unable to do, which is to communicate. Hopefully, it won't be to late to help because some of the current Jr's & Sr's Amat players have a good shot at playing college football. Aram, if you want write a story about Amat, it would be a seller in the ol valley. Stay positive Lancers

you're right we shouldn't put so much emphasis on passing league...but have you read the rest of the comments? isn't everything everyone is saying based on passing league? i think we're on the same page, it's a whole new world when the pads and helmets come on.

passing league said:

underestimation - -

good for covina! really. but don't put to much emphasis on passing league. a lot changes when a qb is facing big boys rushing in with their hands up and receiviers with cumbersome pads/helmets.

underestimation said:

Well if we are here taking guesses on who's going to win these games based on passing league, then Covina is being highly underestimated. Before the Covina classic they only lost one passing league game to powerhouse Los Alamitos, but at the same time they beat Damien, Glendora, and W. Covina and please correct me if I'm wrong because i was there at those games. and in their passing tournament(Covina-Classic) they managed to take second place behind Culver City...and let me tell you it wasn't a blowout. what did San Dimas do in that tournament? how about not even make it to the second day. and all this hype about northview..haha farmer and jones combined still dont add up to qb olivas, wr's tucker, williams, paredes, montes, olivas, jimenez, perez. theres way to many to name. last years recievers are not the zenith of the team or in other words for you non-educated they are not the best. to summarize, covina is good and although they may not be last years team, f*** last year.

Regarding your snippet remark of "YEAR OF THE TARTAN."

In recent years, every SGV team has had its fair share of grabbing the brass-ring except GHS. You are right...we have commonly finsihed our season as a second or third seed in the SL, and then competed against a tough opponent in CIF...and exited the play-off's with a one and out record.

There is no disputing your claim of the past. In recent years Chino Hills and Damien have controlled the crown in the SL with strong senior finish in league comp. Considering what history has dictated, GHS could easily be painted with the brush of repeating their same record as last. Unfortunately, the stars and the moon are not in line to repeat a third place finsih in 2007 for GHS.

In 2007, GHS is sitting fat with experienced seniors returning in the skilled and strength positions. This in itself will provide the edge that was missing last year in their game. In 2006 Damien "had-it-their-way" based on the quality of seniors that started for Morrison. In 2007 the positional roles have changed in favor of GHS based on the aformentioned.

The three programs fighting for the the number one seed in the SL will be GHS, Chino Hills and Damien.

Look for this competition to come down to the last week of the season, with GHS claiming, "The Year of the Tartan."

FYI: An experienced senior team always has the advantage and edge over a less qualified and/or inexperienced team.

PLAID-LAD said:

Passing Comp @ San Dimas

We all got a peek at San Dimas yesterday on their own field. SD's QB situation appeared better then expected and they had a few WR that routed well and had the ability to catch the ball on the run. With the graduation of Joe and Company...SD isn't in that bad of shape as some might think. Barbone looks to be the center piece of any O and D productions. They just might give Bonita a real fight for that Smudge Pot in 2007. For SD alot will depend on how well their Big-Boys block up front and angle on the ball.

West Covina was also in attendance. WC impressed me most because they appear to have the moxie to beat anyone on any given Friday. WC's QB displayed great lineage and strength on his passes. Their WR showed they had soft hands with the ability to score. Their D (secondary) was sound and moved well laterally on the ball. Personally I would not discount WC from any league competition and/or CIF berths..quite yet.

If we are to beleive that your "blogging theory" is correct, then the SL teams that finsihed 1 and 2 in league will return in 2007 and complete the same task this year.

Now, if one was to support your theory, in 2007 teams one and two in the SL, would complete that same task with back-up players & inexperience. (???)

So, if your calculated theory was "right-on-the-money" (which you are NOT!) those back-up players would out-perform GHS' returners who started and played last year.(???)

If this is what you are trying convey you are...so-WRONG!

Every team in the SGV evolves from year to year. Hitting those high and low points is what is expected.

What gives the advantage to those that accomplish a degree of success, is their ability to re-load or return the following year (season) with establsihed personnel in the strength and skilled positions.....and that is exactly where GHS is on the calulated tables by those that UNDERSTAND the game.

FYI: My fellow student, you get an "F" (FAILURE) for not backing your theory and failing to provide any evidence of a table of resource.

*Please re-apply again in the "FALL," and plan on taking this simple "Football 101" course over.

My prediction is that they will go 6-4 or maybe(italicized if i could do it) 7-3 with the annual 3rd place trophy in league, and a 1 and done in the playoffs to some mediocre team

Kovar DOES NOT run a 4.7

That means he is faster than Nichols and Edwards

Right! Who's running the watch?

RE: How many points will the Tartan D score

There's no doubt in my mind Tartan D will score more points this season than some "not ready for prime time" offenses. You have to consider the fact that when Horn and Young are not playing LB, Pasky uses them as RB's when the going gets tough and short yards are needed. LB Niles is a backup tighend and both DB's Edwards and Nichols have and continue to play offensive receivers/wideouts in key situations. D-lineman Kovar runs 4.7 in the 40 and is as strong as an ox.

These boys are totally capable of causing turnovers and taking loose balls for a long ride.

I'm with MTC on this one!

Yeah but the pressure we put on should result in some turnovers and some turnovers lead to scores and that's what will make it interesting from a defensive standpoint.

It was asked just from a speculative point of view something to have fun with and guess at.

As good as the GHS' mighty-D will look this year, I picture them pressing and physically controling more offenses then scoring points. I truely believe that our opponents will have difficulty converting on short yardage situations. Based on that type of ball exchange GHS' offense will naturally receive more execution-time to prove just how good they actually are......This total team combination will be at best hard to defeat.

Hey West Covina Fan!! said:

Mater Dei Vs. West Covina, not a top game.... MD is ranked No 1.... in most polls.... and is predicted by most to win the Pac5... West Covina is neither.... that is why it is not a top game.

Thanks PL and MTC, good to be back!

I was away on safari in the deepest of African jungles when I happened across a cave guarded by a serpant. I was able to coax the serpant away with a peice of fresh meat from my earier kill. I ventured into the cave and saw two shadows hiding behind a rock. When I finally aimed my 30,000,0000 candle light spot on the two shadows in the dark, they turned out to be Barroid Bonds and Spartan Man. They rushed passed me and must of made it back to the main land. You can blame me for their release...sorry bloggers!

Yeah AT I'd agree on your take 21 is the ceiling.

We are pretty D-Heavy! Now with that said here's one for you guys to hack away at.

How many points do you guys think this defense alone will score this season?

Okay someone cancel the "missing persons" report on FANatic.....(what was once lost is now found)

Glad to hear from you....rumors had it that a band of gypsies kidnapped you and were holding you ransom. Sure glad the Tribune has such deep pocket$. Welcome back!

I agree with your GHS picks....but I think the CO game will be a close finish....GHS by a few nose hairs.

FANatic said:

OK, Aram, let you slide on this one!

You are right about who in the valley will score significantly, if at all, against these two defenses.

This may sound funny, but I believe both D's may actually be stronger this year, dispite Glendora losing Bruno and CO losing Pasalo. The total D experience level has risen so significantly with these teams, that they more than compensate for the loss of the areas premier LB's. Strange but true.

Both D's have so many super studs, that I would love to see both D's play one another...crazy huh!

FANatic has left the blog!

Aram said:

My bad, that's right it was 14-7. Was 7-6 CO the whole game and then Glendora scored late and got the deuce. Wasn't there, but I spent most of the night on the phone with Steve Ramirez who was giving me play-by-play.

Whatever, the point still stands, who's scoring 21 on either of defenses?

FANatic said:

And you say 10, against Glendora' defense? Come on now big fella!

Aram, I believe the score last year was Glendora 14 to CO 7. Where do you get the 10 from last year? I stand by 21 - 7 ...Glendora win.

Aram said:

Mike the Clone,

Not really a smack. But can you imagine anyone scoring 21 on CO or Glendora this year? 21 might be the ceiling. DEFENSE!

Mike the Clone said:

FANatic,

Dude what is up? Man that's along time in the basement to recharge.

And that's pretty good when you can come back and Big Fella welcomes you with a SMACK!

Oh well good to see your back in AT's jungle.

Aram said:

Wait, wait, wait, FANatic,

Glendora will put up 21 on CO's defense? The Tartans scored 10 last year against mostly the same unit. The Mayor's Trophy has 13-10 written all over it. Which way, I don't know.

My Picks said:

My PICKS:

October 26, Charter Oak at Los Altos:
LA will win by a close one--home turf advantage

2. October 12, South Hills at Los Altos:
SH has the market on good QB's this year. I'll take SH just because.

3. October 12, Damien vs. Glendora, at Citrus Coll.:
Hard to choose against an experienced Glendora team this season especially with their TENACIOUS D. Glendora will dominate this game.

4. September 21, Glendora at Charter Oak:
Big Lou and gang will have to exact their revenge on a future Glendora team...not this one.
Glendora will keep the Mayors trophy for another year.

5. October 12, Northview vs. Covina, at District Field:
Have to go with Northview on this one. Covina will need to rebuild this season after losing way to many gamers.

6. October 12, St. Paul at Bishop Amat:
Hard one here. I want to say what goes for Covina goes for Amat. But Verti will sqeek this one for a win..barely! I may eat crow here.

7. November 2, Arroyo at Rosemead:
I'll go with Rosemead.

8. September 7, Monrovia at Duarte:
I didn't like last years matchup and I don't like this years... difference will be Duarte over Monrovia in a close one.

9. October 5, Bonita at San Dimas:
San Dimas over Bonita by a Barbone!

10. November 11, Loyola at Bishop Amat:
I have to go with Loyola on this one.

What's up PAID-LAD and Mike the Clone!

FANatactic picks Glendora over CO (Tartans D will be the factor holding CO to 7 points). Using my head and heart of course!

Final score GHS 21 CO 7

FANatic picks Glendora over Damien (Again legendary Tartan D will hold Damien to 10 points in a close one).Using my head and heart of course!

Final Score GHS 14 to 10

Other FANatic picks:

LA over CO
South Hills over LA (Nail biter!)
San Dimas over Bonita (Just give the ball to Barbone)

Aram your 3-4 & 10 picks are sure to be monstrous.

Your right about the GHS and Damien Game...cuz it just might spell the turning point for one team more then the other. In the end the SL will still have to go through Chino Hills.

As good as Damien appeared last year....Morrison still has alot of shoes to fill from his graduating seniors.

Pasky has a returning solid and experienced senior team that will give all Damien can handle..and then some. My money is on GHS for the win.

Regarding the Sept 21st game against GHS and COHS. GHS has edged out CO the past few years so naturally they are fit-to-be-tied. Making good on the others mistakes will control this one.....I see a slight edge in favor of GHS this time around once again.

The Nov.11, game will pair Amat against Loyola. This game will denote strength, skill, and coaching. The Cubs are not the Cubs of old, and given their derailed performance of last year I see Amat catching the Cubs up a tree. Verti and company are pound-for pound better then most are crediting. Amat's skilled players will shine...all the way to the bank...easy money for Amat.

Charter Oak will beat the stuffing out of Damien just like they did last year, i totally agree

West Covina at the Santa Ana Bowl to face Mater Dei.....that is huge for WC... for the dawgs to win that game would really pump some juice in their season.

fifty cents said:

Mike the Clone, So would you say C O kicks the stuffing out of Damien? I think they will...

Mike the Clone said:

Ah yes, a couple of “bagpiper” games that will break us or make us.

Glendora AT Charter Oak

You did notice that the ‘at’ was capitalized. I think this will be a factor and couple that with us snatching a win from right under Lou the legends nose at the Citrus Bowl last year it could get interesting. There is a picture out there somewhere of “Crookie” after hiding the ball somewhere on his body on a misdirection blowing pass Coach Lou and Lou just having this look on his face like “Uh Oh”.

We brought it down to the one or two yard line and punched it in late for the win. Classic picture if you can find it. Coach Lou’s look is priceless.

So with that said and on their turf we will need to be firing on all cylinders because after last year they will be gunning for us. This game is going to go either way because of our young offense. But it will be a good one. Heart say’s “Bagpipers”, the head say’s Lou.

I did learn one thing about Coach Lou from last year. He sure was gracious in defeat and I say that after watching the post game video the Tribune had posted right after that game last year. He is a class act.

Damien at “Bagpiper U”

I tend to think if you look at Damien with a new look on offense who knows offensively what’s going to happen with them. So with that said and with our Defense and if the platooning quarterback non-sense of last year doesn't raise its ugly head again I fully expect to kick this Damien dog to the curb if you know what I mean. (Laughing)

So that’s fifty percent so far that’s pretty good coming from the Clone wouldn’t you say, “Button Wearers”?

So fire away at the Clone!

Late!

Aug. 31st Amat vs Los Osos opener will tell what Amat is made of. A loss here and Oluth next would spell doom for Amat. Amat should win this opener and set the stage for a intresting match up the following friday with the defending State Champ OLuth Sept7th. Having Sherman oaks Notre Dame come in towards the end of the season Nov.2 with possibly playoff implications on this one would be huge. Either Amat is going to the playoffs this year or all you anti Amat bloggers could be right and they will fall face down and go 1-9. Time will tell.......

Sleeping Giant.... said:

while many players and teams from the valley are fighting and asking for respect Conqueror camp is quietly going about buisness. Amidst recruiting acquisations and the no QB issue the team keeps working there asses off in what insiders say is the hardest off season regimine that the Conqs have ever had. From what I have seen the seniors on this ream are a really focused bunch, knowing that in order to go down in hisotry as on of the great classes they must do something that hasnt been done since 2003, bring home that TITLE. It seems that that thinking has consumed the Conqs to the point of no return. This team has something that the team has been lacking the past couple of years and thats SENIOR LEADERSHIP, something that hasnt been around since the Harwell, Ronnie Rodriguez and Randall Brown year. Not to take anything away from Chapelle Brown or Rex Foss but this class has a number of guys that WILL LEAD, vocally and by example. Most of you seem to be forgetting whe the Conqs are bringing back....start with Nick Longoria....what you say about this kid other that BATTLE TESTED and has the scars to prove it....hands down the best OLINEman in the area and from what i hear is moving to DE where he will thrive, i have seen this kid in workouts and it looks as though he has lost a lot of baby fat and is looking dam good (you'll see).....they are also returning the leading Sack man in the area and the best TE who im sure will be much more of a threat this year than last. Ive seen Ray in the offseason and its very hard for me to believe that there is anybody in this area that will be able to contain this guy on both sides of the ball....People may say that yea yea yea everyone has a Rodriguez and a Longoria, but the fact of the matter is that NO everyone doesnt have these kids ive been around for quite some time and these two are what you call Program Builders....these two have been around for 4 years and have worked there absolute ASSES off to get to this point, SENIOR YEAR....in Rodriguez you have one of if not the Biggest prospect in the valley this year and in Longoria you have a kid that might have morked himself into a college FB but will be a great great OL and DL and leader.....this isnt meant to be a shot at anybody else in the valley whether its austin from BA or Umodu from SH but im gonna tell you know these conqs are focused and seem to waiting for anybody to just give them a reason to hit em in the mouth.....wow i cant wait for this season to start cause this sleeping giant will awake and for those in the way itll be interesting to see what happenes......Conqs 12-2 (maybe im just being naive)...u tell me
