TM,

You are starting to grow on me. Okay I can read your blogs and not get annoyed anymore like before (started the Anti Amat bantering), I find it sometimes entertaining and humorous like MTC. Let me ask you something, are you retired or on some kind of disability at home? Sure seem to have alot of time on your hand to hang out here.

PS
If you are doing this at work, beware, they now have big brother software, if you know what I mean.

BUT WAIT A MINUTE DIDN'T WE BEAT TROY LAST YEAR TO MAKE THE CIF FINALS

I'm always curious how rankings by individual writers are confusing and inconsistent. The LA Times has their pet schools and leagues and they dismiss other areas completely.
Case in point; Hart last year lost 5 games yet still maintained high rankings including being in the top ten when they had 4 losses, while schools they lost to remained ranked well below Hart. I agree that Hart has the potential to beat anyone even during a bad year, but you cannot be top ten with 4 losses when you only lost to one team ranked above you. There are many others for the Times but I will move on.

The tribune Ranks South Hills as #1 in the San Gabriel Valley. They may or may not be right. Yet the CIF pole has them 10th in the SW division well behind Charter Oak, Los Altos and West Covina, UH! How can they differ so much?
It will be interesting to see how the Times and Tribune have teams ranked by week 4, since many of the ranked teams will see action against each other.
Note: It appears Charter Oak has sceduled another very tough preseason, arguably the toughest in the area, along with probably one the toughest league schedules. It should be interesting to watch them this year since they return so many key skill players and a defense that should be one of the best again.

BTW, LA Times has South Hills at #25.

Jhykron said:

El Dorado has one impact transfer that I know of (something of a controversy on the OC boards). The only starters they have returning are a couple of guys on the line.

Hard to say how good they will be... their backups got a lot of work last season, though.

I wouldn't rate them #1 in preseason... Freemans did, though, so CIF did.

Anonymous said:

el dorado's team shouldnt be number one in polls because a good percentage of their seniors have graduated unless they got transfers

Jhykron said:

Looks like they didn't bother polling, they just ranked in order of pre-season freeman ratings.

Where is MTC? Did you get fed up and quit or is it something else? Drop us a line. AND Where is Plaid Lad?

Tommy Tartan said:

Interesting and yes, it's hard to speculate with rankings like this BEFORE any games are played, but it is still fun to look at. As a Tartan watcher I look at our pre-season schedule and think WOW! If we can win 4 of those games, WE should be a top 10 team for sure. Tall order though. Starting with Covina (#4 in NW), then Etiwanda (#7 in our Inland), Charter Oak (#4 in SW) and El Dorodo (#1 in SW). Should give us a great barameter heading into league...where we start off with #11 Damien. Good luck to all teams this weekend!

Anonymous said:

Not alot of emphasis should be given to these rankings. Obvisiously, they are based on last years teams. Every team has changed this year for better or worse. These rankings are meaningless.

Once again not alot of talk on this blogg about WEST COVINA which is fine, BUT look out they are going to do some damage.
