south hills @ losaltos game of the week.hands down same division possible semifinals or finals matchup this year.
Very true Don...
Amat/St. Paul aka. The Dogs/The Slime usually draw around 10,000 fans. Much depends on the season both are having of course. But this game usually draws more fans than homecoming for either school.
No problem Fred, consider it a public service.
I try and block out my schedule early to coordinate with business travel that often interferes with my real life, (ball games), so I am only sharing. Sadly, I will miss a few of the games I was looking forward to, (CO playing Glendora, Damien and LA and the Damien-Glendora contest), as I gots to be elsewhere.
Great games on the list but get real clown, boy the only game that will draw a crowd is the Los Altos, South Hills game.
Its easy to see the game of the regular season will be the AMAT, ST PAUL game, get real, this friday they expect between 10 to 15 thou at St Paul vs Servite and the AMAT game will be a sellout no doubt.
These are all good local games but easily the big game here is the AMAT, ST Paul hands down, if you disagree just call your school and ask what is expected attendance.
NO BRAINER -- GOT TO BE AT THE DISTRICT FIELD IN COVINA.. GOT TO SEE NV WHOMP ON THE COLTS. WIN OR LOSE, GOOD GAME, GOOD VIBE AND INTENSE
Joe Colt,
I like your Colts. As a matter of fact I rooted for them last year. But Pleeeeze, let's not be a hypocryte my friend, because if I turned the tables and started bashing your Colts (which of course I would never do nor hate on other teams), you'd be the first to don your supercolt cape on and hang your Vigilant rope around my neck.
But I like your brand of enthusiasm though, just respect mine.
sgv.
You are such an a_ _ . I invite you to come out to the game have some BBQ with the alumni and sit with us " we will protect you " and enjoy one of the oldest and best rivalries there is. GO AMAT .
JP,
"Idiot and moronic" may have been a bit over the top by LancerMania (even if the comment in question may have been idiotic and moronic) Remember the statement in question:
"...The only thing good about the st paul- amat game will be the fans fighting in the stands. Between the arrests and stabbings we will hopefully never hear from them again..."
If the shoe fits ?
But Joe Colts comment should be well heeded. Better to be above that. Although I do find it funny that if an amat supporter comes in and speaks the *Queens English* they are vilified for sounding preachy, high & mighty and acting like they are smarter than everyone else.
A little bit of "no-win" situation
ANY comment that is not PRO AMAT is MORONIC ...
MAN UP .IT'S ALL ABOUT AMAT , GET WITH IT !!! You should know this by NOW Joe Colt .....
JFR,
Don't want to rain on Freddies parade - but I guessed Reed.
I'll await my Prize?
J/K - Great Trivia!
Gonzales? Ever?
Maybe Pill? Aguilera?
Gonzales' downfall was he could hit and they made him into a catcher. shoulda just let him throw the heat!
Re: "SGV, what a moronic statement. Bashing the best HS rivalry you can ask for in Amat/St. Paul can only come from an idiot with no knowledge of High School football."

I have to ask you a question, why cant you express an opinion without calling the statement "Moronic" and then calling the author "An Idiot"?
You say your from Amat which has places a high value on education, yet you act otherwise. I do not know any person of higher education that responds to an opinion this way, why do you feel the need to do so? Rise above that type of conduct and be the better man, the results are better I assure you.
Joe Colt
SGV, what a moronic statement. Bashing the best HS rivalry you can ask for in Amat/St. Paul can only come from an idiot with no knowledge of High School football.
The only thing good about the st paul- amat game will be the fans fighting in the stands. Between the arrests and stabbings we will hopefully never hear from them again.
Don, thanks, that's a great schedule you put together. I'm not planning that far ahead, like to see how teams do week to week. I'll be at the Gladstone-San Dimas game on Thursday, and at Bishop Amat on Friday for their opener against Los Osos. Our great John Honell will be at the Covina-Bonita barn burner. This is an area where I wish we could send two or three photographers to do the area justice. There's so many intriguing match-ups to follow that it's tough picking a place to go each Friday.
I saw this coming from day one: everyone clamoring for the attention of the mighty sgv sports blog. There is just no end to the lobbying, finagling, and outright deception some folks won't stoop to, is there?
Well, I am here to save you Freddie, here is a fair and unbiased, (after a fashion), schedule for you to follow through the next couple of months so that you won't have to trouble yourself week to week with all of that needless and time consuming decision making. I have done the best I could in keeping the long distance travel to a minimum, but sometimes you just gotta get out of town for quality.
Feel free to use your extra spare time to start new discussions on issues vital to us all like who are the best linemen in the valley etc.. (hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, sorry, I couldn't help myself).

Great list Freddy. But, I just shortened it to the games which would really be the most exciting to view:
St. Paul at Bishop Amat
Northview vs. Covina at District Field
Glendora vs. Damien at Citrus
South Hills at Los Altos
Wish I could be in more than one place at a time. If Glendora stays healthy, I'll be at the Glendora vs Damien game at the incredible Citrus Stadium. WOOOOOOOO, this will be the grudge match of the year!
My money is on Glendora. I keep hearing from close watchers this team is very scary good. Kaluzney will surprise everyone. The D is not all talk, they are for real. So much talent.
If Glendora is not healthy, I'll be at my second choice St. Paul at Bishop Amat. The Lancers need this victory against St. Paul. I want to see my Lancers win this game, the boys want this one too.
Busy night for prep FB.
Freddie,
YOU ARE CORRECT, coach Reed is the answer not to mention a class act. I'm sorry but when you bring up the good old days in the 80's I get excited. P.S. I will see you often this year on the sidelines. P.S.S. Gonzales was probably the best pitcher E-wood had, not to mention huge on the mound.
It's going to be an insane night. It's not fair having that many great games on the same evening.
Freddie,
You're gonna need a special pull out Prep Section on Saturday Oct 13.
Do we want to start a pool on which game will have the highest attendance? I know where my money will be (even in a "down year")
