I have my hat already, as far as my sweatshirt, I'll wear the one that says AMAT ALUMNI.

Okay GStone...I went to the game thinking to myself. You know what GStone may have some insight that I do not have. Besides, what happened at last year's game has no bearing on what will what will happen this year's game. Boy, I could not have been more wrong.

GStone, here is my overall impression of the game at Citrus. I left after the 3rd quarter; because, I was bored to tears.

I am not sure if San Dimas has an impressive running game or Gladstone just has a poor defensive line. The San Dimas running backs either ran through or around the Gladstone defenders at will. The San Dimas quarterback does not appear to be the strength of the team. He missed a few wide open receivers. He will need him to improve his passing if they want to contend for a league title.

On defense, again, I was not sure if San Dimas has a really strong defense or Gladstone just has a poor offense. Gladstone could not do much on offense.

Obvously, I am describing a one-sided game. It was over by the first quarter. San Dimas could have won the game 60-0. Gladstone has a really under-sized team and does not appear to have a lot of speed. I think they are going to have another long season...even in the Montview League.

Alumnus said:

Bleeds Blue and Gold,

Here is what I'm going to do. I am going to go out and buy a blue sweatshirt when it gets cold. The point of the blue is to support the team. The kids are stoked that everyone will wear blue. Don't let them down on the cold days because they don't sell a blue sweatshirt. Wear the plain blue and a Amat hat. It means a lot to them.

Don't make excuses. Find a way to make a tackle, block, catch, throw, and Wear Blue!

Bleeds Blue and Gold said:

I AM THE OIGINAL BLEEDS BLUE AND GOLD...

I agree that the AMAT NATION logo shirt gives the wrong impression. That was idea concieved by the Booster Club so send your complaints there.

The school wants everyone to wear blue to the games to show our color, well that's fine and dandy right now in August with a t-shirt but what are we going to do when the weather gets cold? All they sell are grey sweatshirts. Apparently they are not planning it correctly.

Now as far as JV Parent, injuries are part of the game, the boys have been going at it real hard this summer, unlike the JV team who have had limited practices over the summer, I hardly saw them on the field at all. Are you sure your kid will be on the squad next year and if he does, will he make a difference?

Keep the faith, we'll do OK. Remember, the REAL hitting starts tomorrow night.

JV,
First of all let's the staff the chance of at least playing the games before you start saying they will get out coached. A persan can learn alot by mistakes they make and yes they did make some last year . They have made changes with the staff so give them a chance before you judge them. Second of all I totally agree with you on this nation bulls_it . We are LANCERLAND and that is what we are now and forever. Next thing you know they will try to take THE AMAT FAMILY thing away .

I think the gladstone VS. san dimas game is going too be close this year if gladstone can stop the run.. cause san dimas cant pass for.... watch Mr richie gurrola too be a standout for gladstone

JV parent said:

Amat 73, no beef with the coaching staff. just calling it the way I see it truthfully. The team does not look ready offensively. I did say the defense looked to be good. My kid will play for that staff next year, theres no knock on them, but I do see them getting out coached and out adjusted at half time by the coaching legends they will run up against. Calling it like I see it and dont be surprised if we start out 0-3. I want what all Amat backers want, WINS, but lets be truthful and not be Raiders fans here. call it like you see it....who the heck allowed those t-shirts of Amat Nation to be silkscreened. Raider mentality is really striking this once proud school hard. I hate that shirt it disgust me...what next Amat window stickers that read Amat FUK the rest....this has got to stop.

It is gonna be a LONG season for the Glendora HATERS club .The WING T ? Maybe the statue of liberty play too , it has been a popular play too as of late . What about the swinging gate ? BOTH RIDICULOUS !!!

im goig with san dimas, but they run a wing-T offense. thats the worst type of offense to go see. its just boring to watch. some colleges dont even look at players that play at schools with a wing-T offense cause its all trickery with multi-handoffs and fake pulls.

You guys got trucked last year 40-7. Your turn over’s last year were caused by getting hit very hard by soft SD. LOL

Just remember that defense you scored a big 7 points last year has everyone returning except two guys.

Last year the game was over at the first quarter mark and Barbone didn't play second half and stilled racked up 70 yards.

Your talking alot of smack for a team who has alot to prove.

GSTONE said:

Henry,

First of all mind your own business. Second, as a fellow graduate you should have more faith in our guys. We just turned the ball over too much last year. I'm sure coaches worked on it. Barbone played against us last year and did nothing. We'll shut down Barbone, keep the ball, and win the game. Hope your at Citrus so you can see that I'm right.

As a former Gladstone graduate, I can tell you that GHS has not beaten a quality opponent in a long time. Even during its nice little run a few years ago, GHS never advanced beyond the first round of the playoffs. Therefore, I would not be referring to San Dimas as "Soft Dimas" because, they may run your team off the field. That Barbone kid is pretty good.

Good luck!

I want to hear what you have to say after I say, I told you so.

Freddie,
Isn't edgewood down the street from it's big brother, BA. I used to enjoy disposing of those trojans every year in league, it was always a nice tune-up for playffs for the Huskies. I'm sure I'll be seeing you on the sidelines this year. wink wink.

Sorry to say dude, you have nobody that can run better than Barbone. End of story!

If you really did read the article, you wouldn't have opened your mouth about off season workouts. Pretty apparent, you know nothing about him or the others Saints weapons they will bring on Thursday.

You think Jon-Jon was the only factor why they finished second in league... We'll only 6 starters graduated from last year team..

A lot of players stepping up to help this year

Tommy Tartan, you saw the pictures of Aram's food, but I had to watch the big guy eat it. Sorry, this isn't Prep sports and life anymore, just prep sports. But I might throw on other sports topics from time to time. We'll see.

I like:
Covina over Bonita
Ayala over Duarte
Damien over Poly
Diamond Bar over Temescal
Chino over Compton

Supporting the Sierra league brethren! (and our opponent Covina. I want to see them coming in strong and off a win. To be the best you gotta wanna beat the best) Good luck guys.

Covina minus McD = 3-7 season. lets face it they are not going to match what they did last season. Those season come around every so often and Covina will get another one soon enough, just not this year.

BIG DADDY said:

Fred, I understand that predictions are predictions. What basis are you picking Bonita over Covina. Look dude let me break this down to you. Majority of the Seniors on the team now have been together since Freshman even Covina Vikings and WC Bruins. As Freshmen they were 9-1. As JV they were 8-2.(Sophmore year). Junior year most were dressing and playing Varsity. Majority of the Seniors that left Varisty did not play. We had a good mix of Jr and Seniors playing togther. Now all the boys from freshmem year are here now. We have a good mix once again of Jr and Seniors. WE have talent, I just hope everyones predictions aren't only base on the fact the MMCD left. WE have some Big Boys, track stars and alot of talent where it counts. That's cool the you pick Bonita, and everyone is expecting us to fall on our face. Keep looking past us and we will surprise you.

Big Blue said:

A prediction is a prediction no offense taken in Freds. What Amat team is going to show up is yet to be seen and we will take it one game at a time. Los Osos is a good team and could very well come in to Keifer and get a W...I will go with Amat in this one.

Predictions are one thing, outcomes are another. We'll just play them one at a time and see how they fall into place. Besides, vicotry is sweeter when you are the underdog.

Joe Amat said:

I don't take offense one bit to Fred's prediction. I don't think that most knowledgeable lancers will either.

Los Osos is the #27 ranked team in California, according to CalPreps - for what that is worth. Whatever it means - they have horses.

amat has a bundle of question marks that will hopefully be answered with some young talent that is getting an opportunity.
We think that they have ability, we'll see how they use what the stafff has brought out.

Big test for week 0 - certainly the best matchup of the week

FredJ said:

FBFan, a tongue lashing? It is what it is, a prediction. Of course I'd like to see Amat win, as I would any other local against outside teams. But I'm still going to give my best guestimate, because I'm going head-to-head with former Trib prep editor Steve Ramirez

Boy have you left yourself open for a tounge lashing from the AMAT faithful. I must admit you have more nads then I have given credit for. I like it! Los Osos for a young program has risen quickly in the ranks but to go out on a limb like this you have nads the size off chernoble. You may be right on your pick this early in the season.

This is the huuuuuuge blast of the day.
