Tribskin Pick’em, your predictions and ours

Steve Ramirez and Fred J. Robledo going head-to-head throughout the season.

Records:
Robledo: Last week (18-6); Season (67-19)
Ramirez: Last week (17-7); Season (63-23)

Notes:
I was able to pick up a winner on Steve this week, but did it the hard way. We both missed on the same five games by picking Glendora over Charter Oak, Wilson over Schurr, Northview over Rosemead, Brea Olinda over Diamond Bar, and Western Christian over St. Anthony. Steve got me by picking Whittier over South El Monte, but I picked up the extra winner because I had Sonora over Rowland, and Alhambra over Arroyo, which he both had going the other way.

Thursday’s games
West Ranch vs. Glendora at Citrus College, 7 p.m. – Robledo (Glendora), Ramirez (Glendora)
Diamond Bar vs. Troy at Fullerton, 7 p.m. – Robledo (Troy), Ramirez (Diamond Bar)

Friday’s games
Gladstone at Duarte, 7 p.m. – Robledo (Duarte), Ramirez (Duarte)
Bonita vs. Northview at Covina District Stadium, 7 p.m. – Robledo (Bonita), Ramirez (Northview)
Damien at Charter Oak, 7 p.m. – Robledo (Charter Oak), Ramirez (Charter Oak)
South Hills at Fullerton, 7 p.m. – Robledo (Fullerton), Ramirez (South Hills)
Los Altos at St. Francis, 7 p.m. – Robledo (Los Altos), Ramirez (Los Altos)
Rancho Cucamonga at West Covina, 7 p.m. – Robledo (West Covina), Ramirez (West Covina)
Montebello at Wilson, 7 p.m. – Robledo (Wilson), Ramirez (Wilson)
Temple City at Rosemead, 7:00 p.m. – Robledo (Rosemead), Ramirez (Rosemead)
Sierra Vista vs. Azusa at Citrus College, 7 p.m. – Robledo (Azusa), Ramirez (Sierra Vista)

South El Monte at Corona del Mar, 7 p.m. – Robledo (Corona del Mar), Ramirez (Corona del Mar)
Workman at La Puente, 7 p.m. – Robledo (La Puente), Ramirez (La Puente)
Baldwin Park at El Monte, 7 p.m. – Robledo (Baldwin Park), Ramirez (Baldwin Park)
Arroyo at El Rancho, 7 p.m. – Robledo (Arroyo), Ramirez (Arroyo)
Diamond Ranch at Ayala, 7 p.m. – Robledo (DRanch), Ramirez (DRanch)
Nogales at Montclair, 7 p.m. – Robledo (Montclair), Ramirez (Nogales)

Final thoughts: The Montview League opens on Friday, and if anyone has a remote chance of beating Duarte, it’s Gladstone. But don’t see it happening, so the Falcons essentially can wrap up the league title with a win at home. Also wondering if Charter Oak can go back-to-back against two of the best teams in the Sierra with a win at home against Damien, and how will Northview hang with Bonita a week after losing to Rosemead? Is El Monte quietly becoming a Mission Valley League contender? The Lions are 2-1 at home against 2-1 Baldwin Park, which is another tough game to call. Also, expect Los Altos to avenge last year’s loss against St. Francis. I’m going with West Covina to make it three straight against Rancho Cucamonga, and think South Hills will go down at Fullerton.
