Duarte Head coach Wardell Crutchfield informed me this afternoon that he has informed Duarte High principal Dr. William Martinez that he has resigned. I’ve learned that eight players from each team have been suspended for their next game. I can tell you that in no way was he forced out. In fact, school officials at Duarte are saddened by his decision. We will have the full story in Wedneday’s newspaper.
