Cursty Jackson Got cheated out of first team all league her stats are amazing but her coach never reported it!!!!She got full ride to UNLV she had 23 kills and 5 aces against south hills 21 kills and 5 aces against Ontario 14 kills and 7 blocks against North View 12 kills against Diamond bar and sooo many more but i cant find them because her stupid coach never reported any of her STATS!

Just a couple of comments regarding the St. Lucy's season. The end of the season came quickly at Corona Del Mar, CDM exposing the vast gap between the two teams. First the coaching was clearly in CDM's favor. The coach for St. Lucy's was way in over her head. Secondly #15 on St. Lucy's was in reality calling the shots as far as substitions and strategy was concerned. Impact VBC will be interested to know their not only getting a outside hitter but a CIF qualified Coach as well, good luck on that one Impact. Many of the players at St. Lucy's I'm sure will not be sorry to see this season of mishaps & disappointments end. The only hope is that the powers that be at St.Lucy's will make the right choice in a Coach for next season & never again allow a player/coach to decide who should or shouldn't play.

All I have to say is that Ganesha does have a chance of beating Gabrielino, they did once in summer league [i think O__O] and Annie Kim is a great player no question about it, but she can't win the game all by her self it is a team sport you know if Ganesha shuts down the rest of their hitters they might win....... but only time will tell what will happen [i'm going to get annie's autograph when i see her she's freaking AWSOME ^.^]

There are no facts on a blog-just opinions from little kids who have never seen other schools play.

the setter for south hills has issues with setting 31's, when the pass is off target. Which is why I said serve them deep. South hills has a tendency to shank or pass balls way off the net if they are served deep in the corners.

If lai is playing out side then the have the lefty playing middle. BE READY - everything is hit crossed body so the the outside hitter and left back have to be ready. - have you libro move towards that side as well.

Mussleman hits everything long so stay back and play desciplined. Lai will tip after getting blocked, and is pretty good at it too.

Like the thinking behind beating SHHS too. Pretty right on.

I like the strategy for defeating South Hills. However, easier said then done. It should be a great matchup.

They are not over rated. They are a solid team. But can be broken down, because they are missing another go to girl (if not a few more).

Melinda is only a sophmore - she will be awsome for the next few years. But if she doesnt find help, then good luck.... In her league she cant do it alone like wilson did last year.

South Hills is overrated...just stop the front slide from the middle and take advantage of the weak outside hitter block.

lets just say that most coaches and players at top gun are not to happy with the politics/pay/etc. Thats why many coaches have left the program.

And if you get passed them, good look play the fast offense of Los Altos, not to mention their tall middles.

If she really is not getting any offer, then tell her to go to Impacts VBC and plays with the best players from SGV and OC.

Why shop around when you can go to Impacts. Look at Diamond Bar's MVP and St. Lucy's MVP, they are there already.

Annie Kim played for TOP GUN, but much like all other TOP GUN players, she is looking elsewhere for this club season.

Since Torrie Brown of Diamond Bar is going to Cal State Fullerton, what club is she playing for?

And Annie Kim of Gabrielino High is going to where? And what club is she playing for?

How come we dont hear much about volleyball players getting signed then football players?

Wow giggles that was an interesting post. I would have to agree this blog is pretty positive except for the occasional St. Lucy's hate/love. Nobody has bad mouthed any players. Also nobody ever doubted Ganesha. For the most part there has been a lot of praise for Ganesha. There tour through CIF may be a short one because Gabrielino is very tough but good luck to you. As for your post, Im not sure how many coaches post on here, but there are some parents and other volleyball followers.

To Smily Goggles (nice name by the way). This blog really means nothing so don't take it to heart so much. I haven't noticed any coaches saying there players are good because of them ALL YEAR on the blog, so where are you coming from? I agree that we don't need to talk about who has the best player, but if we get people to blog more it's all good for the most part. This blog is way more fun than the Pasadena blog, which basically has zero contributors. Oh-Ganesha isn't needy, many of us just found out this blog exists so we are a little excited.

am i missing something here?? where's the hate? for the most part, this is a very positive blog! read what the knuckleheads on the football blog have to say and how they say it. Major props to all of these teams and coaches going on to CIF. there are some great match ups early on and the possibility of some even better ones!!!! Play on!

COACHES PLEASE READ:

I have followed this blog since the beginning. When everyone doubted Ganesha would place in CIF. When every coach talked about their team and how great they were. When people would put down other teams and tell them how much better another team was. The long discussions about who was the best player and who hit the ball harder. I only have a few words for these coaches who brag and brag about how great their team is. Have you noticed that from failure comes great success? To be strong first you must be weak and build up. It is funny how coaches brag about how their players are so good and they take great pride in them, thinking that the coach had some type of great effect on them. Yes, many players have improved and have been influenced by coaches, but is it not the players putting their effort and sweat out in the court. You may teach them how to dig balls coming to them at a great speed, you may teach them how to block and hit, but it is only the player who decides how great they want to be, it is only the player who decides to sacrifice her body out in the court. It is the player that decides to wake up early and work hard and push themselves to be the best. IT IS ONLY THE PLAYERS who decides how great they want to be, it is their effort and their time that they put in the love of volleyball. I am disgusted at the fact that you made a hobby of young girls into a thing of hatred and awful rivalry. So next time you decide to talk about how great one girl is better than another, think about this first.

I was not expecting SL to get a bye first round either. I would agree that SHHS should have picked that one up, but whatever. Good luck to the Regents!!! No less than the semis!!!

The early signing period starts this month. Girls may have given a verbal committment to a college but cannot officially sign until next week. The spring signing period is next April. Lots happens between November and April-like 4 months of club. Take your time, girls. Make the right choice. Eaglespride-the schools you mentioned always send girls away on vb scholarships. This year will be no different. Just because you haven't heard doesn't mean they "don't got anyone signed."

The St. Lucy's bye is a fluke, it should have gone to South Hills. St. Lucy's lost to many area teams including Walnut & Los Altos. Thats why they were ranked lower locally.

Annie Kim is the real deal! The rest of Gabrielino's squad is also strong, but Ganesha is no slouch. We are ready for a volleyball G-High love fest of high quality play! May the best team win and go far in CIF! We only wish our sisters from Holy Family could be there, but they are also in CIF!

This blog ranking is so far off. The only school from this paper ranking that got a bye for playoff is St. Lucy. I always wonder how much does our reporter know about volleyball. I just wish they can interview the officals from cif from time to time so the newspaper rankings are at least similar to the cif rankings

Some interesting matchups in CIF. Two locals play, Diamond Bar at South Hills. St. Lucy's somehow gets a bye even though they finished 2nd in league. Ganesha at Gabrielino. Good luck G-hi. LA and Bonita look like they have easy draws for a couple of rounds. That division III-A is weak. Good luck to all the the teams in the SGV.

Not saying that any of our girls from LA didn't play for Heights. Responding to the fact that the blog said our coaches owned Heights which is incorrect. Also, stating that more than 3/4 of our VARSITY team didn't play for Heights or play Club at all. Learn how to read!

Just to respond to the Northview bloggers: The Ganesha bloggers are still blogging-why? Because we are still playing. Sorry-Northview had a good team and should have had an at large bid. They will also have a strong program next year, but Ganesha is in CIF with a 17-8 record. If we can get past a 1 seed in the first round anything is possible.

Why don't we just try and enjoy the sport and not worry about who coaches a club sport. Oh, thank you club coaches for giving all of the time and expertise to our daughters!

So you are saying that there are no players who play at Los Altos and Hacienda Heights Volleyball Club?

I never respond to these comments but it is really getting out of control. People are talking without getting facts straight. The owner of Hacienda VBC is Dave Cota. Coach DeLaVara hasn't coached club for the past 2 years, our JV Coach coaches for the Starlings in ELA (none of our players belonged to that club).

As far as investigating Los Altos and Heights VBC maybe you should get your facts straight. Esquivel and Mora (the 2 players that play all around) played for Quest VBC the past few years. Nigeria (our Middle)and DeLaVara (our setter) played for Top Gun. Alyssa *our setter) and Kristin (our opposite)played at other clubs. Our 3 libreros didn't play club at all. Los Altos was spread out in different clubs the past 2 years. Coach DeLaVara, Coach Eshom, Jaime and Thuy have worked so hard to bring all the athletes back to play together this season, as a team, and was very successful. Think about it, 6 different club philosophies and techniques brought together for Coach DeLaVara to put together as one. Wow!! We love our coaches and thanks for your hard work. LA MOM

actually the rule is once you have coached them for club, THEN they may not return as your high school player. And since Bonita's coach has never coached any of those players prior to high school season, and will only do so for their 18s club season they will not return for another high school season since they are graduating. So all is legal!

Can we focus on the positives of high school volleyball in the SGV? CIF is coming up. This nonsense can be hashed out in the offseason.

So should Charter Oak and Wilson request an investigation of Los Altos since there varsity and JV coach own Heights Volleyball Club, coach Los Altos girls and switch back and forth every year as to who is the club director? Seems pretty illegal to me, but what do i know.

So Charter Oak and Wilson high school should request cif for an investigation about Bonita since Bonita coach is a Club West coach.
According to CIF rule: Members of the high school athletic staff may not, outside the season of sport:
1. Own or be a director
2. Serve on the Board of Directors
3. Serve in any administrative position or
4. Be an advisor on personnel decisions
with any organization/club in which student athletes of his/her high school
participate.

My daughter played with SCVA and the level of play was great as well as the experience, which you can't put a price on. The cost was VERY reasonable for the training, opportunity and everything that was included in general. I would due it every year if she made the team. The coaching was okay, but at that level, they don't need much coaching. They should already know pretty much what to do. That's why they're there.

Here is the Rule on Outside Association from CIF Blue Book. If the Coach continues to participate with her club team they (coach and player) are in violation and one of them must detach from the other. Thus one of them won't be at Bonita next year. Contact the schools AD for further clarification.

No member of the school athletic staff shall organize, sponsor, or coach a volleyball team outside the season of volleyball, during the school year, in which students with remaining eligibility at that school are participating. After the volleyball season and before May 12, coaches may associate with potential team members for the purpose of learning and practicing skills of volleyball only during one regular physical education class.

QUESTION: May a volleyball coach at any level be involved with the administration,
supervision and/or organization of a fall, winter, or spring volleyball program

there is another level above Scva high performance teams...it is usa high performance.
so, if your kid make it to Usa high performance,then you really dont need a checkbook.
the only coach that is involve in Usa high performance in this area is the assistant coach from cal poly pomona...he would be the best trainer in the area.

volleyball follower, thanks for a great post on your recap of the match. As someone who knows we can't have reporters all over the valley to cover everything that should be covered, it's nice to see someone read this blog, get excited about a match, go watch it, then come back here and write about what he saw. If someone did that at every match, be it a parent or a fan, we wouldn't miss a thing.

If I have to pay for my daughter to get exposure, I'll do whatever it takes. However, it's her talent that will take her the rest of the way. As parents, it's our responsibility.

I went to watch the Bonita/Los Altos match with much excitment and an eye on the "transfer". It was very apperant that the setter (transfer) for Bonita was not very good and that the girl that transfered to Bonita to play for her long time personal trainer "three years of grooming for Bonita" had a bad night. He pulled her in the second game after several errors but started her in the third game and never took her out.

Question...

Is it a CIF violation if the coach at a school influences a player that he has personally trained and coached for three years (sense 6th grade) to transfer to his school and promises her a starting position if she transfers?

Thanks for the recap on the Bonita-LA game. When I saw Bonita play earlier this year they had difficulty passing, it sounds like this was their downfall again. They have lots of talent on that team though and should win a few games in CIF. Maybe those two teams will meet again.

I heard Diamond Bar beat Glendora last night does that affect the Sierra league standings or is it a done deal? Whoever gets 4th in that league should get an at large bid.

St. Lucy's won a close match last night against Chino Hills in 4 games. Each match was a nail bitter. Great showings by Freshman players Deanna Dalton and Megan Callen. The team is peaking just at the right time. Should be strong in playoffs. Nice job to Chino Hills for recognizing SL's seniors in their final league game as well as giving their own seniors a great send-off.

Sierra league should close as:

I read the blog and decided to go Bonita to see a great game. Los Altos was behind early than caught fire to dominated Bonita. Coach DeLaVara should be the Valley Coach of the Year. He moved his rotation around and caused Bonita headachs. He was able to neutralize a bigger and stronger team.

Jade Esquivel(266 kills on the year) had another great game, should be Valley Player of the Year. Sophmore Meagan Macias #6 (137 kills 49 blocks on the year) stepped up with her biggest game of the year, she made Bonita pay. Freshman middle, Jazmen Russell #15, she has 196 kills and 50 blocks on the year and had a solid game. Junior, Nigeria Owens #8 had a big game at the net with crutial blocks (110 on the year). Defensively Samantha Mora #10 had great game and she had a few kills also with a couple crutial aces ( 99 kills and 31 aces on the year). The Libro Kim Stupin #1 and DS Stephanie Olives #5 had their strong games on the back side, these girls move very well and also serve very well Stupin has 35 aces and Olivas has 37 aces on the year. LA as a whole is a very good serving team 198 aces on the year.

I am amazed that we don't hear more about their setters. Senior, Alyssa Carillo #20 (399 assists on the year) and Junior, Alora DeLaVara #3 (340 assists on the year) they have a combined 739 assists. They know how to move it around and make the hole team better. Heck that are pretty good servers also Carillo has 30 aces and DeLaVara has 17. They may not get the recognition that others do, they run a 6-2 offense and they rotate in and out.

They may not be as athletic as the Amat Setter but they make their team better, game in and out and do not have the attitude. I have seem about 5 Amat games this year and nothing changes.

I am glad that I decided to go to Bonita for this game, Los Altos seems to be getting back in their grove at the right time.

All the stats that I quoted are from Max Preps, I love it when the coaches do their work it makes the life of volleyball fans a whole lot easier.

Parents: Instead of complaining as to why your kid isn't playing or getting recognition, you should tell your kids to try harder and earn their spot. Not all kids have the potential that others have and you may be placing unnecessary pressure on your kid. What are you teaching your child? Are you going to follow them through life and fight their battles? Stop the drama, YOU ARE affecting the team.

LA vs. Bonita

It was a very exciting game to watch. Both coaching came with game plans however L.A. game planned seemed to work better. LA's opposite attack came alive and it opened up the game for the other front row hitters. Bonita's passing was looking like LA's when the playes the first time. Bonitas setter where having trouble through out the night, but it was bad passing that was making them look bad. LA's serving was almost perfect, and LA was able to pick on the weak passers from the get go. Jade Esqueval and Megean Mecias had great games. The big middles had their share of points but they where huge when it came to BLOCKS. The liberos where able to pick up on Bonitas hitting strategy and from there everything fell into place.

Bonitas coach as well as his players seemed frustrated with the fact that they could get things going, Los Altos was always one step ahead of them.

It was worth the drive!!!!

Nothing illegal about coaching your future players. He can actually coach her again this year in club but next high school season he can not.

As for what is happening at Club West and their clinics. (all speculation) I believe that is what should be investigated. I hear the coach is holding clinics (tryouts) and his girls are attending. This should be looked into by CIF and the school.

Forget about the transfer from another area the real issue here is the Club/High School Coach realationship to the player. If indeed the HS Coach is her club coach or in anyway affiliated with the her club team (Director, Trainer, etc) that's a No No...

One of them will have to leave the school. I've seen this happen in the past and after this year one of them will be gone, bank on it...

Bonita is overrated as usual with whatever players they have.
LA-rules and they will go far in the playoffs with the way they are playing toward the end of their league play.

From what we have witnessed at Ganesha, Bonita is a class act. We also have many out of area students who also come to Ganesha because of academics. Academics and athletics are often associated and we hope our teams will thrive because of this combination. Ome people need to familiarize themselves with the rules and the true intent of the rules. The volleyball programs in our area are clean and legit. Good luck to all in CIF-Vivan las gigantes mas finas de todo el mundo!

if your going to cry and complain about bonitas freshman setter you should at least have the balls to post your name. Maybe you have a daughter sitting on the bench or less talented that's life. Maybe your daughter should transfer to a school where she can get more playing time there are plenty of high schools and clubs. All you anonymous whiners need to get a life.

Wow, what a great match for Los Altos. I have to say (LA Parent #13) in the past LA and Bonita had bad blood. Tonight was a completely different feeling. It started out with Bonita presenting Los Altos seniors with flowers and a balloon. I want Bonita to know that the parents and players were at awe. Thank You for the sportsmanship you showed for our seniors final league match. Great Job to both teams on a successful season! Go Co-Champs !!!

ok as a student at bonita i know for a fact that we have different grade sin varsity ranging from 9-12 grade. Why does it matter that she is from rancho? i mean she must be pretty good if she is on varsity. if she wasnt she wouldnt be on varsity. its that simple. And as of the issue thing ok the people who go to st. lucys and damian, they range from anywhere from fontana all the way to el monte. talk about distance and tha tis jus for private school.

While I know little of women's volleyball, I know a little about high school sports and this baloney about an out of area kid makes me nuts.

You Bonita parents should know that just living near the school doesn't assure a place on the team.

High School sports, especially at the Varsity level is about achievement, not entitlement. Bonita has a VERY STRINGENT policy of ensuring that out of District students maintain the school academic and community standards. When they are lucky enough to get a kid who can not only maintain these standards but excel on a sports team the whole community wins.

Rather than concern yourself over who is getting the attention on the Volleyball team, you should be THRILLED that skilled players from a nearby town want to attend your school and play on it's athletic teams. Kids like this make the team BETTER and schools like Bonita with high standards make the kids better STUDENTS.

Los Altos in 3 looked pretty easy for them.

She's NOT a transfer!!! New incoming 9th grade student!!! Can go to school anywhere she wants to. Read the rule book. But is it fair to those student athletes whose home school is now "open" to someone who lives 30 or 40 minutes away? Is it fair to those same athletes who waited for their chance to play that spot?? Those are the bigger questions. But you take your chances. If you go to a private school, you know going into it that this just might happen. I guess public really means public now.

know the facts before you moan and groan. I'm all for parental choice. If I want to send my kid to Bonita because they have some of the highest Verbal scores on the SAT or because the Club West coach is now the volleyball coach - I should have that choice!

Everyone needs to know that the Bonita 9th grade player was already in the Bonita District as a 7th and 8th grader in middle school. How is that recruiting?

Rancho is about 10-15 minutes from BHS, so that is not far at all. Distance is irrelevant when it comes to eligibility.

Besides it being the game of the week. It would make a lot of sense for Charter Oak and Wilson to jump on this issue. This might mean making or not making the playoffs.

Hopefully this is resolved ASAP and not during or post playoffs!

Bonita would have a case if her city was not so FAR. COME ON!! RANCHO- thats beyond far!! and magically she is playing for the coach that has coached her for a few years!!

Here is the worst part!! A senior who is just as good of a setter BUT TALLER (a good thing) is riding the bench because of this!!!!!!

That article also said that her local coach (at Monrovia) that he had prior contact, which is also illegal and could just as easily be considered undue-influence.

Did you know that it also considered illegal and "undue influence" to try to talk a player *out of transferring*?!?

If you have a disgruntled player/family at your school and the coach provides such *inducements" to STAY- it is still considered a violation.

Did anyone read this aricle from Pasadena Star News? A player for Monrovia High mentioned about wanting to play for Bonita high.

An incoming 9th grader is not considered "a transfer" because of Rule 206.

And yes page 106 refers to Undue Influence, which is a seperate issue than residence. Remember...
Undue influence is any act, gesture or communication (including accepting material or financial inducement to
attend a CIF member school for the purpose of engaging in CIF competition regardless of the source) which is
performed personally, or through another, which may be objectively seen as an inducement, or part of a process of
inducing a student, or his or her parent or guardian, by or on behalf of, a member school, to enroll in, transfer to, or
remain in, a particular school for athletic purposes.

Now....exactly HOW were these families induced or what "material or financial inducement " was provided?

THAT is what is so hard to *prove* and is why so few cases (an ALL sports boys and girls) are proven.

In simple form "a coach cannot influence or recruit a player".

It does seems funny that the topic came up before the Bonita vs Los Altos match.

Recruiting has been happening for a longtime and not just in volleyball.

This sounds like jealous parents who are so jealous, they are willing to sell out their own team (and potentially cost them the season)then realize that if a freshmen is starting over a senior then you have bigger problems then transfers. Where did this sense of entitlement come from? You put your best players in and that is the bottomline.

Hopefully Bonita isn't DQ'd over the AYSO mom's comments of everyone should play.

In addition, Bonita is a top ranked school academically. I think any parent who loves their kid would do the same (transfer their kid to a better school for academics and athletics.)

Or you could do it the St. Lucy way and just have the coach fired.

There have to be some other games with playoff implications in the other leagues. What are they?

Rules are exactly the same for public and private. ANY incoming 9th grader can enroll at ANY school that will accept her and be immediately eligible under open enrollment policies.

A. Initial Residential Eligibility
A student has residential eligibility upon initial enrollment in:
(1) The 9th grade of any California Interscholastic Federation high school, a California Interscholastic Federation junior high school, or a junior high school under provisions of Bylaw 303

QUESTION: Where may a graduate of the eighth grade of an elementary school attend high
school and be eligible for athletic competition?
ANSWER: The student may (as far as CIF Southern Section eligibility rules are concerned)
attend any high school in the Southern Section and be immediately eligible for
athletics.

It was only a matter of time before this would come out.

Latest and greatest. Bonitas seniors are the ones talking, because they dont feel its right that the coach transfers players from a different district and plays them over the seniors who have been waiting for this year to come.

A player is driving from Rancho Cucamango to play in West Covina... If it was a Private school it would be OK, but because its a public school, its a big no no.

This has been going on for a while but people are finally stepping up...

i honestly think charter oak should be there somewhere. they play tough teams and put up a good fight the whole way & never give up. they beat san dimas in 3. so i think co should get a chance somewhere up there soon. they deserve it this year after last season.

I have heard some rumblings about this all season. Interesting though that it is posted here on the day of Bonitas biggest game of the year, or should I say Los Altos biggest game of the year.

A player CAN be coached by her FUTURE highschool coach as long as she is playing 12's or 14's during their club season. Once she enters High School things change!!!! NO MAS COACHING!

As for the transfer issue... that im not sure of.

That issue would have been taken care of right away if it was Boys football or Boys basketball.

People need to call CIF and push the issue.

Are people aware that CIF has an ongoing investigation with Bonita HS Volleyball? Apparently they have an inter-district transfer athlete (starter on the team) that was recruited by the coach who happens to be her club coach. Apparently this girl was recruited last year by the coach (she was in 8th grade). This athlete has been coached and receiving private training from the varsity coach at Bonita through Club West for the past 3-4 years. The coach is also a personal friend of this athlete’s family. This would all be fine if the athlete lived in LaVerne, but she lives in Rancho Cucamonga and should be attending school in Rancho Cucamonga. This athlete is at Bonita because this coach promised her the starting position with the varsity team. The Bonita team has 16 girls on it with plenty of talent on the team already. There is no need to recruit athletes from out of the area.

Bonita/CIF -is this a conflict of interest? CIF - why do you have rules if you don't enforce them?

Honorable Mention-The hard hitter from Ganesha, San Dimas Middle, Rowland Middle,LA freshman middle, Glendora and Bonitas Outside Hitters.

some tournaments are best of 5. Most are 2 out of 3. And then losers bracket or contenders bracket are just one game. Matches that are 2 out of 3 or 3 out 5 are officially counted on your record to CIF.

Actually so the poster who said StLucy's beat DB twice (3-1) that is incorrect . The first match was (3-1) which were ALL close.. and the 2nd match was a 5 setter in which last set was (15-11) if im correct.

St. Lucy's is a topic, because they are a solid team. Loosing their first coach and switching of coaches and setters THROUGH THEM OFF!!! Let me tell you if they had a solid setter they would be elite. Their J.V. and Frosh/Soph looked strong as well. Similar to Diamond Bar and Bonita - The youngersters also looked good.

The sierra league is stacked- plain and simple. Any those teams can beat ganesha and northview in three (four of they are lucky).

Los Altos is also stacked! They will be just as good next year, maybe even better....

South hills - Gees... Melinda as a JUNIOR!! GOOD LUCK!!!!

wilson will be graduating six, good luck to them. Hopefully their J.V. Middle will become their varsity star. SHE HAS GREAT POTENTIAL!!!

St. Lucy's is down on the rankings because they did struggle during the middle portion of their season, so they dropped a bit, but have been moving up in recent weeks. Remember, these rankings are not based on who would beat who, but more of a reward for a fine season. Gladstone is probably not the fifth-best season in the area, but they are, in my opinion, having the fifth-best season.
My theory on rankings is that the pre-season or first ranking of the season is for the most part based on who would beat who, but then after that it's a reward for who is having good seasons.
I also don't put a heavy emphasis on tournaments because those are for the most part one-game matches. I find that the best of five is a much better barometer.

Gladstone is a tough one. They havent played any of the local teams besides their league opponents. Who knows how well they would do against the top teams. I personally haven't seen them play.
Can anyone comment on them?

The valle vista league? Has beaten who? besides eachother.

Northview played well on Tuesday-hopefully Ganesha will recover today aginst Covina. The Valle Vista league is more competitive than many people think. Congrats to Northview for excellent passing, timely hitting, and aggressive serving. Ganesha pride still feels like we can get our mojo back. Look out for us on Halloween!

I would flip SL and DB. SL is finishing 2nd in league, beat DB twice as mentioned above. Without a doubt, SHHS is #1, peaking at the right time. Just wondering, should strength of the field figure into these rankings. If your league is relatively weak and you're rolling through it just because the field is weak, should other teams in stronger more competitive leagues be ranked higher? Just a question.

I would think that all those Sierra league teams DB, Glendora, and St. Lucy's would beat San Dimas. St. Lucy's might already have. Has San Dimas beaten a ranked team?

This week was a tough one!

I guess we are not taking into considerations tournaments. Los Altos went 1-4 at the Ayala tournament losing to Glendora along the way.
Of course they didn't have their big gun who was injured. The proof will be in the pudding tomorrow night.

I think Diamond Bar is slightly overranked. They have lost to St. Lucy's twice. The only ranked
opponent they have beaten is Glendora
