Anonymous. Have you seen this stunt with the Glendora Dads. Can you imagime how unbearable they would be if they actually fielded a good team more than once every 15 years?
"chest full of medals and a belly full of beer!"...burp. .... "Finish it!"
Trick or Treat?
About the "FINISH" sign you made reference too!
Would you like to borrow it to hang in your bedroom in the hope of relieving some of your underachieving tensions?
Hey what ever happened to all the Glendora "CO trick play" complainers? Seems like Coach P. took a lesson from Coach Lou. Now does that mean Charter Oak really did beat Glendora fair and square after all?
Good luck to the Tartans. And to those ridiculous "Finish It!!!!!" Dads. Did they do that "stunt" at halftime against Ayala?
You guys are worth the price of admission...all by yourselves! Chest full of medals and bellies full of beer! lol
I new you would here a bunch of crying from the LA fans. Don't forget three starters from the Wilson’s offensive line are out. What you don't count that Wilson is made up of all Hacienda La Puente Unified School District kids. All Los Altos is a recruited San Gabriel Valley All Star team. What you really had to do is play with your local kids and a BA quarterback recruit. While you were doing that you saw a quarterback on the other side of the field that once played at Los Altos but Gano pulled one of his coaches options, bit him in the A** a couple of years latter. The kids in Hacienda Heights are getting tired of being loyal to a program that isn't loyal to them. Look for that WHEEL to staying at Wilson for a long time to come. We are going to build another CIF championship program with Hacienda La Puente Unified School District kids, not GANO’s recruits. By the way I hear how GANO treated our freshman squad, pay back is a bi**h. \
See ya next year.
GAME OF THE WEEK
CHARTER CHOAK VS. DIAMOND RANCH.
THIS THURSDAY..
on the feild BOTH TEAMS undefeated. on paper not so much.
GAME OF THE WEEK..
a Game that NO ONE SHOULD MISS.
Fred,
I think Gilpin is at it again. Someone is posing as Joe Amat below. We all know that this is not Joe Amat. Let's ban this fool for good.
I'd be ashamed to claim victory over Los Altos.
really guys last nights victory for wildcats was
against a 2nd 3rd string team bulleted with so many 1st string payers that i'd give it a second
thought. Best of luck to all 7 or 8 first line
players.
CO Bro,
Dam you got all the stat on student pop. I know south el monte has the least student pop being from that area. Doesn't Amat recriut? I totally see what you are saying. But before El Monte only had two schools (arroyo and El monte). The new schools took alot of juice away. just a thought. Thanks for the reply, Solid Pro 103 '97
Forgot to mention, I think us Tartans are pleased as punch just to be in the championship game!
FANatic just delighted to be invited to the party!
You bet, the Chargers absolutely annihilated the Tartans last they met. I'm surprised the Tartans were able to regroup and perfom as well as they have after that beating they took!
Plaid Lad is correct....WHO CARES!!!!!!
The game tonight is everything to two very good teams. Yesterday means squat! Tonight, all the seasons efforts and bruises will culminate at Citrus college tonight. Four quarters of football!
Let's go Tartans. Be the best tonight!!
FANatic taking his heart medicine. I don't think I can make it through tonights game and then watch my Colts take on the Patriots.
shrules,
im not even from charter oak, im from there league rival!! a win is a win, good luck to you guys, they looked good last night.
Rowland vs Walnut......winner becomes the third seed coming out of the San Antonio..loser stays home.
Response to: Football Jones
Right-on man! You are 100% correct..I agree, with you. Right now all the Tartan players, fans and supporters should be thinking about is tonights game against Ayala. Who cares about the GHS & CO game... give it a rest, get over it! CO beat the hell out of GHS on that night...enough said.
FYI: You boys better screw your lids on tight because we are coming at you tonight for all the marbles.
PLAID LAD

I got a call into Freemans, Calpreps and maxpreps to alert them of the truth!
How dare they publish such BS.
Congratulations to Stanford, they should start the season at #1
Charter Oak should be the rated the most powerful, supreme team in the universe because they beat what will be the Sierra League Champion by 7 points in the last 22 seconds.
All hail to CO!
Both you guys must have better things to do. I'm tired of hearing it right now.
We all know SH rules!!
they cant handle the truth !!!
NEWS ALERT .....
GLENDORA VS AYALA ! CITRUS COLLEGE TONIGHT !
LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE LINE !!!
RF
Football Jones
i agre, glendora lost this year and co lost last year. so glendora was the better team last year. agreed?
Good Grief!
Enough already about CO vs Glendora!!!
They played and Glendora LOST!!!
Who cares about all the numerous idiotic rankings, they mean nothing at any level.
Thats why they PLAY THE GAME.
~neutral observer
I remember a couple of basketball seasons ago
Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts beat Fitchburg St. by 4
Fitchburg St. beat Newbury by 4
Newbury beat Roger Williams by 20
Roger Williams beat Curry by 5
Curry beat Trinity by 5
Trinity beat Amherst by 3
Amherst beat Pomona-Pitzer by 19
Pomona-Pitzer beat Whitworth by 4
Whitworth beat Puget Sound by 24
Puget Sound beat UC Riverside by 4
UC Riverside beat Pacific by 8
Pacific beat Texas A&M by 7
Texas A&M beat Texas by 3
Texas beat West Virginia by 1
West Virginia beat Georgetown by 13
Georgetown beat Duke by 3
So Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts should have been able to beat Duke
rgd2626
Got you man! How much do you want to bet on Stanford in the rematch game against USC.
I'll take your bet right now!!
If you can't bet on your BS logic, what good is it anyway.
THE REAL PICTURE
You keep missing the point!
You said CO is the BETTER team based on one close game. I don't care about rankings. You said one Head to Head game determines the BETTER team. Using your stupid logic means Stanford is better than USC. RIGHT! Then following your stupid logic, the wrong team went to the finals last year. The BETTER team was one and done.
If you mean to say, the better team on the field that night won the game, I can agree with you. But, to say one team overall is better than the other based on ONE CLOSE GAME is stupid.
I say CO was OVERALL better than Glendora LAST year, even though Glendora beat CO head to head. Further, I say Glendora is OVERALL better than CO this year, even though, CO beat Glendora head to head. Your logic of measuring a team based on one head to head game doesn't work. Test: if CO can't beat Damien, but Glendora does; what does that prove?
I guess you can try and argue your point all day with Freeman's, Maxpreps and Calpreps. Afterall, what do they know compared to your supreme logic.
How about we both agree on "WHO CARES ANYWAY".
Look at the big picture at November 2, 2007 06:58 AM
Ask yourself the reverse question?
Did the BCS REWARD USC for losing to Standford?
YOU BET YOUR SWEET A-- THEY DID! THEY LOST THERE RANKINGS AND MAJOR DOLLARS!
YOU GET REWARDED FOR WINNING WHICH TAKES PLACE ON THE FIELD.
THATS THE REAL PICTURE. LEAVE IT ON THE FIELD!
JOE SANCHEZ, classy! Just more of that special DR attitude. Cheated, messed up, goofed, forgot, whatever! Bonds didn't cheat either! It was legal than, right???? Yeah, just finish up your season and shut up. If you win the big "Ship" than open your pie hole, otherwise no one cares! P.S. Look intelligent and try spell check! "Yall" don't worry about your classwork much either! Oh, that's right! The teachers are messing up, right??? Here's some DR slang for ya. Too bad, so sad, Ba-bye!
sorry but true
what works for me
ill take the team that had more points on the scoreboard
you take the team that has mpre points on ANY kind of system
you still dont get it. that system like any other may be fine, but nothing is better the heads up on the field, im sorry glendora lost to co,but co was better that night
Anonymous at November 1, 2007 09:00 PM
"Sorry but true at November 1, 2007 07:26 PM
So sorry Dude, Fred mentioned teams get rewarded for what they do on the field."
I guess that makes Fred's rating system the best in the nation. Forget about Freeman's, Calpreps and Maxpreps. They don't know what they are doing.
Oh yea, Stanford is a BETTER team then USC. I would would bet all the money in China on Stanford if there was a rematch!
Who cares what team is the better team that night on the field. What the hell does that prove? I want to know which team CONSISTANTLY is the better team against quality of opponents, quality of wins and loses, etc... That's what Freeman's is all about. What happens on the field in just ONE night could be attributed to the QB having ONE bad day, maybe a hangnail, upset stomach, hangover the night before, etc....
Get a life. Look at the big picture.
rgd2626,
I give up. You can't argue with an idiot.
CO is better than Glendora this year and Glendora was better than CO last year. I guess the wrong team went to the finals!
Does that work for you?
CO fan
I'm barely responding to your post about the possibility of having 3 1-3 teams in miramonte. I do believe CO will beat DR. Making them 1-3. Then what if wilson beats LA. That leaves both teams at 1-3. I think?. Or does LA have bonita left? Either way what if they lose leaving all 3 teams at 1-3? Mmmmmm???
Joe Sanchez,
Stick with your rationalizing the situation. It worked for Clinton Lets see He did not inhale and did not have sex with that woman.
10 years in business, 4 leagues, 4 or 5 AD's, a little glitch with CIF, and always the loudest on the block. Yep what a tradition your building.
You post reflects the attitude found in many sports at DR. I have sat through many sporting events at DR as I had relatives palying there and was amazed at the behavior. Best of luck on your continued "pursuit of victory with honor".
To West Co and SHHS great game tonight. West Co played hard for 4 quarter with 7 younger players and continued to fight till the end, You represented your team, coach and school in a manner that you should be proud of.
When Baldwin PArk slaughters Covina... they will for sure get league champs... either way win or lose against Northview BP is guaranteed a league title
When Baldwin PArk slaugthers Covina... they will for sure get league champs... either way win or lose against Northview BP is gauranteed a league title

I was at that Glendora vs CO game and saw a few touchdowns get taken away from CO.
Fred,
I agree with your DR & CO rankings.
Saw both teams play LA past couple weeks. Both generate yellow flags by the BOAT-LOAD!!
However, CO definitely looks superior on both sides of football.
~just an observation
good ole aaron harris.
he brought baldwin park so much good stuff. like there brand new field and made it a usual thing for them to go to play offs every year.
wonder where hes at?
im saying they were better that day, that game.
sorry but true,
are you allways an smart ???, you take your ratings and anyway you want to work it out on paper, ill take the team that wins on the field,i believe its called (scoreboard)
Mike Hunt! Has anybody seen Mike Hunt? ROFLMAO!
SOUTH EL MONTE IS A VERY HOT TEAM RIGHT NOW AND I THINK THAT THERE A TEAM TO WATCH OUT FOR LOOK FOR THEM TO BE A FORCE IN DIVISION PLAYOFFS. GARAY AND COGBURN POSSIBELY BEST DUO IN AREA.
Sorry but true at November 1, 2007 07:26 PM
So sorry Dude, Fred mentioned teams get rewarded for what they do on the field.
We won and beat you on the field.
Enough Said... Plenty Said... Left it all on the field. Remember were D6 and your D2. Aren't you supoose to win?
REWARDED FOR FIELD PLAY...
Quit trying to make claims to #1 status.
rgd2626@@
You are wrong with your logic regarding Glendora and charter oak. For logic to work, it must be consistent.
You say co is better then Glendora because of co won the head to head match. That means, last season Glendora was better then co because Glendora beat co head to head. though co made it to the CIF finals and Glendora was one and done.
Give it up man, it doesn't work.
mike hunt.. dont be an ass. not all of us are mobile, so try to think first next time... gee, always liked to read your blogs
Who the hell keeps asking about JV games? If you want to know the score so bad, go to the games.
do you happen to know the jv valle vista league standings. just found out that northview jv won pomona today. good job colts
jv scores...
bp over cov
rgd2626,
Thought you were much smarter than that.
Did you read the post from the scoop?
"Regarding rankings and seriously considering strength of schedule, quality wins, poor loses and near misses in games that should not have been (either way) it would be nice to come up with an unbiased system that would take all of these things into account. Oh wait........I think they have. It's called the Freeman's ranking system and is the one used by Max Preps, but as others have pointed out, can be found in its most updated form at calpreps.com. Very detailed system that has been improved over several years and when you study it, results make sense. Here's the top of the SGV (our area):
1. Glendora (31.5) strength of schedule big factor with quality wins. Loss to lower ranked CO keeps their score from being much higher.
2. Diamond Ranch (30.1) close 2nd with strength of schedule rated just slightly higher than GL, but close wins against weaker opponants seem to be the difference. (their score did not change after the forfeits)
3. Charter Oak (29) not far behind because of record, big win over higher ranked GL and some large wins. Loss to lower Upland hurts a bit as does weaker schedule."
How can you say one head to head game between CO and Glendora where the game ended with one trick play for the win makes CO the better team without considering all of the above?
Pretty stupid if you ask me! I guess Stanford is a BETTER team than USC. Losses happen for all kinds of reasons. If the score was totally lopsided you may argue your point, but not from the result of this game.
I'll go with the opinion of the professional source on this one and say Glendora is the better team.
hey bp when you played san dimas they did not even show up you got lucky just wait for tomorrow night the colts are going to show up and run you braves down
I THINK THAT EVERYBODY THAT HAS SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT DR ARE JUST HATERS. I BELIEVE THAT S**T HAPPENS IF DR WAS CHEATING WHY WOULD THEY EXPOSE A PLAYER LIKE THAT AND ALSO DR HAS A GREAT TEAM ANYWAYS SO GET OFF THE AD BECAUSE NOBODY KNOWS WHAT REALLY HAPPEND IF YOU ASK ME LOS ALTOS, WILSON,AND BONITA ALL SUCKS THE ONLY REAL COMPITION IS CHARTER OAK THE ONLY REASON THE LOS ALTOS GAME WAS EVEN CLOSE WAS BECAUSE THE REF THREW ABOUT 100 FLAGS ON DR SO DR IS STILL THE BEST TEAM IN THE SGV DR-28 CO-21
Put DRHS under Western Christian were they belong. Wait that wouldn't be fair to Bassett. Heck, scratch them from your list entirely. You cheat, you get thrown under the Tribune bus.
sorry but true,
how can you say what it is says on paper or what figures adds up to, mean more than head to head competition, you have got to be kidding.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO WON THE JV GAMES TODAY:
BP VS COVINA AND N-view vs Pomona. does anyone know who won does games today
Hey FredJ,
I really think scoup has the right idea. Ranking schools by using the "system" takes all of the bias out of the equation.
For all those bloggers who point fingers and whine and complain about who screwed who or whatever, how you play on game day is truly the only real factor.
Take a look at the pros. It isn't always about who is the better team or who has the better record or players. It is about who gets hot at the right time and maintains it through to the awarding of the title.
Tonight's wc game will be determined on the field, and whoever pulls for the winning team has bragging rights for the next year, or until the next game. C'est la vie!!
I just think this is truly what sports is about. The passion and ferocity and fire in the eyes of the players, coaches and fans. The hits and catches, the misses and penalties.
I, too, hope the WC game officiating is up to par. It would be an awful shame to have the three blind mice, mr. magoo, and grandpa jones making the calls the way they have the passed few weeks.
Sorry, WC, I think you are going down tonight. And, I do not think it will be pretty.
co bro,
Yes el do would be better than glendora and co. But, I wouldn't say co is better than glendora . Your little win means you won a very close game only. In the big picture Glendora is better. Look at every power rating. See for yourself.
sorry but true.
Freddy,
Even CIF has gone to Off. and Def. Players of the Year. Trib 'n' Partners should jump on board!
SOUNDS GOOD !
Some guys are better are one side vs the other sides . I say DO IT FRED ! More work , but IT IS ALL ABOUT THE KIDS ANYWAYS ! Gives players something to shoot for come playoff time .
FIGHT ON
TM
Sertoma players of the week? Off. and Def., C'mon..But I'll tell you what, I wish instead of just having the Tribune football player of the year, that we could have an offensive and defensive player of the year. Roger Murray (Whittier) and I have argued for it, but we always get shot down. Whatcha think?
Don and Joe...
Interesting discussion about combining schools... I've been a witness to the effect large student bodies have on sports. I attended a school with 4800 students. The varsity football team would cut... that's right CUT, 200 - 250 kids. Over 350 youngsters would go out for varsity football. Seventy five made the varsity squad. Fifty were dropped to JV and combined with the best of the sophmore class to compose the JV team. The freshman team would cut over 100 players.... to say the least, it was really tuff to make any team... even the water polo team was tuff to make! I was lucky enough to play three years of varsity football and the school I attended had won more Division I (Called I-AA where I'm from) state football championships than any other high school in the state where I grew up. Not long after I left, the student body was chopped into pieces in order to populate several new (and much needed) high schools in the area. The powerhouse program I had played in was left in ruins and to this day, while fielding good teams now and again, is just a middle of the road I-AA program. So, no matter what my wife keeps telling me, size does matter:-) In fact, I don't know if there is any single aspect of high school sports as important (except recruiting efforts by the private teams). Excellent discussion... Rock on Saints!
sertoma,
if fred did that now? can you imagine the complaining , oh my god, who they played, who played tougher, who was home, who was away, who was so far ahead they woulda had beter stat,
DONT do it fred, your asaking for trouble, when sertoma did that they had about 5-8 guys doing it.one of the guest speakers was coach John M ckay, he knew my dad real good, and romon gabriel spoke once also, hey , i have an OJ autougraph on an usc pennant, wonderwhat its worth now??? nuttin
CO Bro.
That's why we play the games. You don't have to be a better team all season long, just on that night. You got the best of them, and deservedly so. Another night might be there's...but yours was the one that counted
SERTOMA ???
Players of the week was a big thing when I was in HS too ....SGV Tribune POTW ??? Sounds good ! Maybe next year Fred ...I KNOW I KNOW .MORE WORK FOR YOU ....But hey thats why they pay you the BIG $$$
TM
The scoup...I truly do understand how these various rankings work and for the most part I agree with them. BUT...IMO (nothing personal MTC, TM and others) Glendoras 2 losses were to the better team.
co bro,
i think that temple city runinng back don, and the last name, something like muztiake , something lkike that, speaking of old timers anyonr remember when they had sertoma players of the week, offen, and deffen, then at the end of the year big dinner to name player and coach of the year, they allways had a guest speaker, those guys held there meetings every week at my parents house, my dad was on the board, i used to sit and listen to them and watch some films.
CO BRO ...
Props to El Rancho . DID you play in the Early 80's with the Villanueva Triplets ? I heard they had a few good teams ...DID THEY ?
TM
Posted by: Trojan Man at November 1, 2007 11:14 AM
R U trying to make me sound old TM? Wait I am old! No those boys played a few years after me. ER did have some competitive teams back then, but we always lost to the likes of Fontana or Temple City and such. There was this F**king Stud of a running back for the Rams in the late 70's, Don something (I think) he killed us every year. But I do know the Ranch does have 1 National Championship.
Roddy fan, I'm a big follower of El Rancho football and I've heard from people that Hiatt is doing a good job, but his schemes are suspect at times and outdated. IMO, Louie Zamora should be the defensive coordinator. He was the coordinator under Reyna and was the only bright spot on the entire staff.
There are coaches out in this area who are Ranch alumni which is why I check out this blog sometimes. Northview's Jim Arellanes was a standout QB and is doing a good job with the Vikins. He was probably one of the best QB's I've ever seen play.
The San Dimas defensive coordinator Adrian "Boomer" Medrano is doing a real good job and his defense stuffed Arellanes offense. I was at the SD/Northview game. This guy was a tough player. he played with a broken arm in his last game at El Rancho versus. Charter Oak.
Things are looking up for El Rancho and Roddy Hiatt has something to do with it, but I don't see him staying there too long.
The scoup
Great post!
Glad to have strong support evidence, not to mention, the most scientific, when making comparisons among programs.
Looks like the Glendora Tartans are more than just an imaginary figment, they are for real!
Nice to have a 3rd party source!
Haters will continue to hate regardless of the facts!
scoup,
Awesome info.
Yeah, my math was horrible on the Bonita/San Dimas thing as I was trying to write a report, talk on the phone, and squeeze in a post here all at the same time. It's a good thing that the post was the one that I screwed up!
and your point of "quality over quantity" is right on.

I understand that Ayala is not in the SGV, but I am curious on that rating score looks on paper against Glendora.
Posted by: Anonymous at November 1, 2007 12:17 PM
How would Ayala score with that ranking system?
Posted as a public service.

I understand that Ayala is not in the SGV, but I am curious on that rating score looks on paper against Glendora.
How would Ayala score with that ranking system?
Oops...messed up my Roman numerals there I think. The division rankings in southern section go: D-1,D-2,D-4,D-3,D-6,D-8,D-10,D-5......
Joe Amat, good points. Once a school is about 1500 or larger (maybe even 1200+) there really isn't a huge gap in "potential" talent pool. A school of 1500 can have 25 good seniors just about as easily as a school of 2500. It's more about who those kids are, who the coaches are and if the "program" attracts, or more importantly for public schools, KEEPS the good athletes in its area. BTW, Bonita (1800) + San Dimas (1500) would be more like W. Covina in size.
Regarding rankings and seriously considering strength of schedule, quality wins, poor loses and near misses in games that should not have been (either way) it would be nice to come up with an unbiased system that would take all of these things into account. Oh wait........I think they have. It's called the Freeman's ranking system and is the one used by Max Preps, but as others have pointed out, can be found in its most updated form at calpreps.com. 3. Charter Oak (29) not far behind because of record, big win over higher ranked GL and some large wins. Loss to lower Upland hurts a bit as does weaker schedule.
4. South Hills (24.6) lower than you might think, but with LA win as it's best, they just don't have enough quality wins to be higher. Loss to La Habra (34.9)legit, but loss to TH (27.1) hurts their score from being up near the top 3.
5. Bishop Amat (22.3) obviously their record is poor, but their huge schedule strength plays a big factor. Win over St.P (rated higher) helps as well and Rancho Cuca (14.6) is the lowest ranked team they played. I think this is right where they belong as to the likely results if games were played. They could certainly beat one of the teams above, but in a 2 out of 3?
6. Los Altos (20.3) solid schedule strength, good but not great record and "plus" win over Western put them right here. Obviously the injury have affected a result or 2, or else they could be somewhat higher.
7. Damien (17.6) one "plus" win over Poly, good schedule strength and the tie with CO. The 3-4-1 record is what keeps them down though. Still, this proves that they are dangerous and Chino Hills may just find themselves sitting home come CIF.
8. San Dimas (17.1) great record has them this high. Very poor schedule strength keeps them from being higher. The "bad" loss to BP probably drops them from being around 20-21.
Don't have time to do the rest, but there's a big drop of down to:
Bonita (11.9)
W. Covina (8.6)
Duarte, Arroyo & SEM (all at 4.6)
Early in the year you could argue with this system, but with 8 games of data now this is pretty solid stuff. It's fun to see where our teams compare in the SS, the State and even the nation. You can also compare your division to others (DII ranked higher than DIV, but DIV is higher than DV and DVI higher than DIII) and even league to league (yes, the Miramonte is ranked right there with the Sierra...slightly ahead at the moment).
Joe,
Agree 100% with your points, 110% with the last. (Bonita and San Dimas student bodies together add up to 3300-3400, depending on how many star athletes they have robbed recently from neighboring communities.) :)

DR,they are a good team. But they are a better bunch of head hunters and cheap shots. I would like to see them play at least one down without hitting someone from behind or throwing a punch at someone.
CO BRO ...
Props to El Rancho . DID you play in the Early 80's with the Villanueva Triplets ? I heard they had a few good teams ...DID THEY ?
TM
Yeah..props to El Rancho! My Alma mater!
solidpro,
It kind of makes me chuckle when these "small schools" talk about their enrollment and how good they would be if they combined schools.
Arroyo (2428), El Monte (2157) actually all have substantially more students than South Hills (2026) or Charter Oak (2124) and Mt View (2025) is essentially the same, while not significantly smaller than even Los Altos (2085). South El Monte is the smallest school(1485) and by themselves are about the same as San Dimas (1490) and even amat (1500+/- depending on who has been kicked out recently)
West Covina is the largest school at about 3400, not much less than South Hills, Covina, and Northview combined. Imagine how good they'd be with one Covina school !?! Or combine Bonita/San Dimas and it's still smaller than Glendora (2700)

Message to coach Roddy Layton:
The AD did mess things up, but come on, when is the coach going to take responsibility? Who cares about recruiting. A kid shows up and you know he isn't from your area, the coach should make sure that the paper work gets done right or it is his butt. It is the AD's job, but if it gets screwed up it is back on the coach. Will DR stop pointing the finger. Can Layton actually take some responsibility.
You must be a lazy son of a gun to not actually do the work yourself. Every head coach who gets a kid from out of district takes it upon themselves to do the work, regardless of having an AD or not. Why do you think other schools, who I won't mention but who other have mentioned on this board don't get screwed up? They actually do their work. A good coach coaches on the field and off. If you are going to allow someone from out of district in and play, you better cover your butt and not pass the buck.
He loves to pound his chest and draw attention to himself, why not pound your chest now huh coach? Yeah keep pointing the finger, you fit right in there at Pomona Unified.
Don't blame the AD, DR! Sack up (man up) and take the blame like you should
sgvpride
Don't they use total scores of the teams? Or is it a 3 way toss? I really doubt that will happen though, Co is working on all cylinders their Defensive is like facing wild Beast, ask the likes of Wilson, WC, LA, (just to be nice I wont mention Glendora) I really doubt CIF will allow DR in, although it would be nice just so they wouldn't be able to say see what if..
Is Willie Reyna still El Rancho HC ?
He was an OK QB back in the 80's for Arroyo .
WE BEAT HIM HIS Sr. year though ....
TM
Don you seem like a pretty knowledgeable former ...coach? What do you think about the job Roddy Hyatt is doing as the Defensive Coordinator @ El Rancho? Last year ERHS did not win a game. Coaching matters...doesn't it?
So what if we have 3 1-3 teams in the miramonte what happens then?
The truth, We are DR? You also will be home for the CIF Playoffs, and your players will be out prancing around the playoff games wearing their DR lettermans jackets all claiming the would've should've theory. It still remains a season down the tubes because you are not going to beat Charter Oak. Better luck next year and tell the Admin to do their homework and know how to properly file a transfers paperwork. Even without getting caught and with Sermons you were just a so so team and were going to get bounced early in the playoffs anyways. There was no championship in your season because your team is not championship Material. I think your better off getting caught this season because it gives you a reason to claim greatness at the same time covering the fact that you are not as good as you claim you are. I hope you play Amat next year and we will see what type of team you really are. All things in the city of Pomona stink.
HECKLE & JECKLE Have West Nile Virus ...

TAKE AWAY HIS CATCHES, DO YOU WIN GAMES?
#1 Brandon Sermons is not a star player.
#2 When have you heard of him being a good athlete BEFORE the LA game?
#3 DR did not recruit him, he came along with Tony Adams from AMAT, who is not even playing anymore.
#4 When have you heard ANYTHING about DR having star players BEFORE they started winning.
#5 HOW MANY PLAYERS ARE NOT IN DR/POMONA'S DISTRICT
The TRUTH!
THE POINT IS CIF DENIED YOUR STAR PLAYER's HARDSHIP TRANSFER. YOU PLAYED ALL YOUR GAMES WITH A RINGER! CAN"T YOU SEE THE UNFAIR ADVANTAGE HERE? GEEZ, HOW ABOUT ALL TEAMS GOING OUT LOOKING FOR THE VERY BEST PLAYERS OUTSIDE THEIR ENROLLMENT AREAS. SURE, WE WOULD ALL WIN GAMES!
Anonymous 10/31/01 @ 9:06
Do you really think ANY team hasn't checked all their players after DR Screw up? Co welcomes any invesagation into our players, Are you talking about our Seniors ,who 16 of them started playing Varsity as Sohp.? Do you really think Big Lou whos coached all his life with over 215 wins would not have checked all his players? Dont listen to those birds anymore it makes you look like a bird brain. Speaking of where are those birds Heckle & Jeckle they crack me up
im proud of my boys in blue! johnny crespo for hc king yeeeeeeeeeeah!
charter oak boys, this is your year, bring it on home for the familyyyyy!

72 points in the first quarter
yes thats correct
72
There is no doubt that the DR AD screwed up big time and for that he should resign. But for all you haters out there, you know that we should be ranked in the top three. Our record speaks for its self. We schedualed the best teams and we beat them. And if anyone really wants to know if they are a good team is just look at there strength of scheduale. Dr has the toughest in the SGV preiod. LA, WILSON, especially BONITA know that it should be DR and CO playing for the leauge champ on Nov 8. Instead we will be there playing for a spot in the post season. And guess what? So will LA and Bonita hoping to see us loose because if that had any ***** they would admitt that we are the better team and they shoul be bidding for a playoff spot. WE ARE DR!
amat is horrible
LA conq whatever
tell that to Mcbride who beat up who!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish El Monte only had one or two high schools. El Monte, Arroyo, Mt. View, Rosemead, S. El Monte Striaght domination! Football,Baseball,Wrestling. What a powerhouse it would be. All these schools have less students than others in the valley. Escamilla finally a title 10 years later without Thompson? bout time coach
YA 0-10
To the one that posted that San Dimas would be
2 & 8 with Amats schedule, can you name the 2 teams that they would beat.
haha all you you dr haters are idiots. so basically what you are all saying is ONE player is better than your entire defense and offense? well I thought football was a team sport. That is what it sounds like. DR CHEATS BECAUSE THEY HAVE ONE INELIGIBLE PLAYER. thats a bunch of bs. oh by the way, a little birdie told me Bonita is trying to find any transfers on CO, and trying see if they are ineligible. the litttle birdie also told me, the teams in the miramonte league are talking, trying to phone another not to let DR into the playoffs. haha what a sham, saying how great their teams are yet afraid of a team that could wreak them in leauge and CIF. I bet if garey was still in this league, and they had an ineligible player. you all could give a rats ass.
How good is Amats underclassmen? Last year Monrovia's freshman blew them off the field. Everyone was disapointed with the performance they put up.
no way
Duarte (7-1)
Baldwin Park (6-2)
San Dimas (8-1)
South El Monte (4-4)
Rosemead (5-3)
are better then damien
no way
Duarte (7-1)
Baldwin Park (6-2)
San Dimas (8-1)
South El Monte (4-4)
Rosemead (5-3)

LA Conq was right on, DR got beat up by Los Altos. DR should be thrilled to be #4.
hey Fred, i just thought you should know that the Saints are only 7 and 1, im not going to lie its a pretty good chance the saints will beat the giants bad and i mean BAD... but give the kids some credit in Pomona cause i went to the Baldwin Park/Ganesha early and the giants gave up the kickoff return but i think if the giants finished thier opening drive it could have been a completely different game... every team has a chance to lace up thier shoes and strap on thier helmet and play... so instead of giving the W to SD already can we wait till Saturday morning atleast...
DR only turned themselves in after they were outed by a league rival. Thats what Layton said. How do you not know a player cant play when CIF returns the paper work with a big rubber stamp saying "DENIED". Opps my A**. Clearly cheating!
Ranchrowdy,
Your name suits you well if you are one of the people screaming in the stands. I haven't seen a group of people that acted that way since the Raiders were in town. I wonder why the kids act the same way on the field, Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
San Dimas could compete with the bottom half of the Baseline League, maybe.
The Mission League is a whole other ballgame, to coin a phrase.
St. Paul would scald the Saints and whip 'em like a red headed stepchild.
Thanks Fred,
As someone who grew up with the Whittier Daily News I like to pull the homies up short from time to time.
Don
,
Just a quick reality check.
No WAY that San Dimas beats Rancho Cucomonga OR St Paul.
RC destoyed West Covina who beat Baldwin Park before they beat San Dimas.
St Paul
Ranchrowdy,
I think you've got it pretty right, but I'm not so sure that DR "turned themselves in" or if they just realized that they got caught and wanted to stay one step aheaad of the posse. Kind of like Grady Little "mutually resigning"(what is that?) before he could get fired.
Going thru 5 ADs is no one elses fault but DRs. Why can't they keep an AD? It is tough being a rookie AD, but this guys been around the block for a while and should know better. Maybe he's just overwhelmed. I understand that they kind of screwed up the basketball hire and brought in some crook from Artesia there also.(proven and fired from his previous school).
Intentionally cheating is one thing, and we'll see how DR basketball turns out, but being out right negligent (or ignorant-which you are claiming the AD is) might be worse.
Too bad, the kids were getting it done on the field but it seems that DR has been tripping over themselves in many sports every time something gets on the verge of getting to the top.
What's the real hurdle to overcome?
No, Amat should have kicked a field goal in regulation and won way before that...and if they beat Notre Dame, def. back in the top ten, maybe top 7
If Amat pulls the upset over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame then where do they rank.? this is hypothetical I know, but just what if.?
Anonymous at October 31, 2007 04:35 PM
He's talking about #10, which is about 6'3" plus
amat should of ended the season 1-9 but due to the St. Paul 2pt conversion, the runner slipped! and amat won the game. sorry people, but amat is nowhere near to call them good. there a sub par team at best. San Dimas could of played Bishops schedule and ended up 2-8 and people will not consider them good. Just because you play good teams doenst mean your good, just means your head coach wants to play tough teams
Gladstone QB- D1 material?? Dude, step away from the bong! You high! Maybe if he was playing for WWU (Willy Wonka University). He's way too small. Com on now! The only thing Gladstone has to be happy about is that big rock in the middle of campus. Go Aztecs!!!
Ranchrowdy at October 31, 2007 04:08 PM
I don't think you guys tried to cheat or tried to avoid the rules.
But, the problem I see is that a COACH knows his players and should have crossed all his "T's" and "I's". We had a simular situation, and our coach followed up directly with CIF before the first kick off.
Its just part of the job, especially with any kind of transfer. The registration process starts in the office with alot of documents to prove and show where you live........
does anyone know the jv valle vista league standings? im real curious on what the varsity teams for the next few years may look like.
Don, your too much, just relayed your message to Campy -- we had a good laugh. He and I worked together at the Star-News the past two years -- he's a good guy and a workaholic.
Don, love the comments
IMO:
1.Charter Oak – More convincing win over a (slightly) better opponent puts Chargers alone at the top
2.Glendora – Behind C O by a hair
3.South Hills – Still pretty close here
4.Diamond Ranch – The end of the “run the table guys” in my mind
5.Damien – Three way battle for third in the Sierra
6.Bishop Amat – Going nowhere fast, but they can still beat any team from #7 down and give 1 to 5 a run for the money
7.San Dimas – Two tough games in the VV this week and SD isn't in either one
8.Los Altos – How many other SGV teams could lose 3 two way starters and still field a competitive team?
9.Arcadia – Going to finish #2 in the Pacific
10.Bonita – Bearcats regain most of their health only to sacrifice it on the altar of the Chargers
11.Duarte – Still waiting for the Falcons to play a worth opponent
12.South El Monte – Top of the MVL
13.San Gabriel – Talk about a crazy league, Almont all mixed up
14. West Covina - The other side of the “agressive pre-season” coin
15.Baldwin Park – Big and physical, I won't be a believer until AFTER the Covina and Northview games
16.Alhambra – Still can't believe Montebello beat these guys
17.Northview – Not quite what they were billed as, maybe Dick Sheehan needs a consulting gig for his spare time
18.Rosemead – Biggest game of the year Friday
19.Arroyo – Made the mistake of slowing down and looking over their shoulder... saw SEM running up Santa Anita
20.Covina – Non-believers starting to realize just how good MaDonough was
21.La Puente – Geez guys, Wilson beat 'em by 19
to all DR haters
you are all correct...Put DR on the bottom of the ranking list..this will make them happy FRED...they act as if the rankings are going to make them champions...they are just rankings period...DR has had a major blunder..I'll give you that..but the kids paly hard and have a strong following..I always see their bleachers full ...
Mr. Campa,
Please try to avoid the frequent sobriety checkpoints set up by my friends in the Whittier PD.
They are on the lookout for guys like you all the time.
When you do sober up you may want to note that with the exception of La Habra HS and St. Paul, the Whittier locals are a fairly average bunch of teams. It's a down year for Santa Fe and your “high flying Condors” haven't beaten anyone better than the Del Rio's own La Serna HS.
Spare me the hyperbole, you are a professional journalist. Well, you get a paycheck anyhow.
Have a nice day,
Don
(Don't know if this is really Andrew Campa from the WDN, but I just couldn't help myself.)
To: sorry DR
We truly thought our ranking was going to be lowered. Even in the I.E. daily bulletin they still list us in the top 5. Why? I don't know. Ask the people like Robledo who rank us there. It is their blog. We do not control where they rank us. They rank us based on how we played on the field.
We screwed up. Admin and coaching staff accept responsibility fully. We understand that it looks bad, but having a rookie AD who has never had to deal with a HARDSHIP TRANSFER or an administration who didn't know all the particulars was surely bound to lead to a blunder.
The rules are there for EVERYONE!!
Let us learn from this and go on. Just stop calling us cheaters because we're not.
I think the only ones who call us cheaters are those individuals who can't accept that we beat them on the field.
I can guarantee you that the one person who has had more sleepless nights because of this is our AD. He feels so distraught that his error has cost our team this way.
Thanks for the encouragement.
Joe Conq you are such a dimwit at times.
That CIF posting was just made in the last three days. You are assuming that it was that way all along. Get real!
Now, with the appeal denied, we continue to play with that player. ONE PERSON DOES NOT A FOOTBALL TEAM MAKE!! There are 11 players on OFFENSE. There are 11 players on DEFENSE. One player does not determine whether you win or lose. Just ask LA. Team is plural. you, joe conq, are one lonely individual who can not accept that your defensive coordinator made a lousy defensive call AND GOT BURNED BY IT.
Accept the truth. On the field your team played well, but because a coach screwed, up you lost. One player did not cost you the game, your own defensive coordinator cost you that on field win.
Ranchrowdy,
Can you answer this: Do you agree everyone must play by the same rules?
If you agree, then except a lower ranking equal to your record. Just like everyone else.
How do we know for sure the paper work was sent in on time prior to the student playing his first game?
Can you see why others may accuse DR of Foul play?
Can you imagine any other team playing a transfer student, who buy the way wins games for you, without turning in the proper paperwork till lets say, 3/4 into the season after the crown is all but decided?
I truly feel bad for all the DR players. This was a terrible error which will cause lost memories for a lot of kids.
Don't you think it wise to followup after sending the CIF transfer elgibilty papers? Coach sould have made sure. Well all live with our mistakes. I stand on reducing DR's ranking in the Trib's list
Sorry DR.
Hey TM,
I think by our admitting we made a mistake shows that we screwed up. We truly realize the serious implications of our lack of follow through.
-------------------------------------------------
TO EVERYONE ELSE!
It gets old hearing people refer to a team as CHEATS. Whether you write it or not, by saying that DR cheats, you cast a shadow over the players as well. You should see the anger and sadness and frustration that our players have shown BECAUSE our AD made the mistake.
Compared to all other SGV teams we may not be as historied as CO or LA or Amat. We are only 10 years old, have had to move through three league changes and 4 or 5 AD's in that time. I do not see any of these other schools having such turnover. Why condemn? If you think that DR cheated with ONE ineligible player, what about all the other players on the field? Did they cheat, too?
I do not criticize the actions of CIF. The players have accepted that it was a mistake, a very bad mistake. But, no one is attempting to crucify our AD the way you folks on this blog crucify him with every posting.
If this is truly old news, then quit bringing it up as often as you and everyone else does.
I like the blogging that goes on. I just think we need to stick to the game and not the mistake.
A. Campa,
Get a clue, your top team is Cal Hi, how do you
think they would do against teams like Charter Oak, Glendora, South Hills, or Diamond Ranch, they would get killed. your # 2 team couldn't even beat our # 15 team when they played, The only legit team you have down there is La Habra, & I would bet if they played South Hills now it would be a whole different story.
Hey anonymous,
if what I am saying is old news and that we are a bunch of cheats, then why did you post that DR should be number #1? OR, are we dealing with another false "anonymous?"
It is because of these dueling opinions that I fail to see you as having any real clarity or insight. Because, as I read who posts these blogs you seem to flip-flop so often that I wonder if you are the real "fish out of water."
Campy,
better yet...stick to your volleyball top ten
FRED,
Wilson did not come back against DR. Wilson was the recipient of penalty flags drawn by DR, not because they outplayed them. If you remember correctly, DR had just been notified that they were to forfeit their five wins due to an ineligible player, their head coach had been told not to be at the game because of his ejection the week prior, and DR had held Wilson to 0, ZERO first downs for one and a half quarters to start the game. Wilson's first 1st down came because of a DR personal foul. The second 1st down came as a result of a missed tackle by the secondary. Their two first half touchdowns came because of penalties more so than being out-played.
As far as their quarterback not being in for the first half, that was the Wilson coach's decision. DR held Wilson to going no further than their own 35 for the entire first quarter and half of the second quarter. DR scored on fumbles from the Wilson backs.
Whether LA has injuries does not really matter. Without McBride, LA's coach Gano engineered offense and was able to pull off the upset. If it was not for a lazy secondary coverage, called in by the defensive coordinator, then LA maybe wins against DR.
If you think LA is going to lose to Wilson, you really must be out of your mind. I look for LA to again manufacture yardage and to score easily. Why? Whether I like to admit it or not, LA has heart. And that is what Wilson lacks.
I hope you enjoy paying for that lunch meal.
Whittier Daily News head-to-head Pigskin Pick'em rankings
Roger Murray: Last week - 5-3; Season 68-19
Andrew Campa: Last week - 2-6; Season 56-31
Hey Campy, you rookie, concentrate on picking winners on your side of town.
How good is Baldwin Park? Will they actually win league.
Ranch Rowdy
If I was THE AD @ ANY school , KNOW YOUR ROLE , that being said , HE SHOULD HAVE FOLLOWED THROUGH . PERIOD . END OF STORY . This is Old news anyways . MOVE ON !!!
TM
PLEASE DIAMOND RANCH,
IS THAT WHY CIF HAS MADE YOU FORFIET YOUR GAMES AND YOU WILL NOT SEE THE POST SEASON. MAN UP YOU GOT CAUGHT AND YOU WERE CHEATING AND YOU DESERVE WHAT YOU GET, MEANING YOUR COACHES AND FACULTY. PLAYERS WISE THEY SUFFER AND THAT SUCKS BUT YOU ADMIN. SCREWED YOUR TEAM, A VERY GOOD TEAM. WHAT A SHAME FOR THEM. YOUR SENIORS AND THEIR PARENTS THIS HAS GOT TO REALLY HURT AND BUMM THEM OUT.
Dont count on Amat having a 2-8 record, for some reason they get fired up and have Loyola's number year in and year out. Even in Loyolas championship season a few years back Amat gutted out a win. They may not beat ND but that Loyola game is a toss up. Kinda like the St. Paul game. It will be a back and fourth game come Nov. 9th at Kiefer.
Anonymous,
What gives you the right to call DR "cheats"? Are you employed by CIF? I don't think so. For you to make such an accusation is totally absurd. People make mistakes everyday.
You try being a rookie AD and have to have steroid shots because your back is in great pain.
Our AD had to spend his first year clearing up the huge mess left by the previous AD, then he organized this school year. Along the way, he did not, as you so vocally point out, check up with CIF to see if that player had been cleared. When you send paperwork in to pay a bill, do you call the company to make sure it was received and credited correctly? So, what would make a first year AD think to check up with CIF two, three, four times? Where is this section of the CIF site that allows you to check a players eligibility? Unless you have worked with this information prior to this you do not know it exists.
How dare you come across as judge, jury and executioner. Get a life and don't condemn someone because they actually made a legitimate mistake. Hopefully no ever accuses you of being a cheat, a liar or a scumbag because you make a rookie mistake.
Saints Fan
COVINA , EL MONTE , WILSON . Yes maybe score once or twice , but I WOULD BET A WEEKS SALARY that Bishop Amat would win . BY DOUBLE DIGITS ! Face the facts ...Bishop Amat is GOOD . Not GREAT But GOOD . Yes losers of SIX games but still competitive AGAINST MOST SCHOOLS HERE IN THE SGV , Including San Dimas .
TM
It's the same mantra... "Hey... Amat must be better than all these weak SGV teams... these SGV guys don't play anyone to compare with Amat, so Amat is better..." It's crap... Amat is second rate this year... plain and simple. I think Covina, El Monte, and Wilson could all give Amat trouble. They may or may not win, but at least they would compete... and I guess that's good enough... right? Amat would get hammered by any of the top ten teams in the SGV... even use lowly guys from the Valle Vista league... Sorry, they're just not very good at all this year. I remember years ago when Amat went north and played some schools from the Central Valley and got stomped... they are a big fish in a tiny pond here in the SGV, but they're now where close to the big time...
I agree with Saints Fan. I really liked the QB from Gladstone. He is really young, so he is going to struggle. But, when he becomes a senior and he fills out with some weight training, I think he will have some D1 potential. Great arm.... The future looks bright for Gladstone.
FYI,
Remember all those comments about how the DR tranfer situation was simply a formality of not filing paperwork. Go check the cif website!
Hardship Appeal DENIED! Football Participation Restricted.
That mean ILLEGAL TRANSFER for those of you who can't read between the lines!
Cheaters.
A.Campa ...
Leave our SGV teams be , I hope our SGV bloggers are of your site & not trying to start a verbal war .
WHITIOT !
TM
Hey Fred J,
Your top team would be at best, the No. 3 team over in Whittier Daily News Top 5. Maybe you can do a sidebar at one of our football championship games this fall since you'll have some free time.
Anonymous,
If it were up to me, I would put DR at the bottom of the list. The rest of us have to play "legal" players, while DR wins games with an "illegal" player.
Fred, I would argue that DR played unfairly and CIF agrees. Why would the Tribune be any different. DR is occupying a high rank by playing an illegal player. I feel bad for all teams, who play fair, who appear under the DR ranking.
sgv fan82, they will go 2-8, but they're still better than most teams in the SGV.
DR's claim to fame was & is competing with that OC school , saying "WE LOST , BUT WE COMPETED ."
CHEATERS
ACTUALLY not an Bishop Amat guy , RHS Almunist . A REALIST , Bishop will ALWAYS be a TOP TEAM IN THE SGV .
Like it or not ...
TM
conq 76,
can yo u believe this dr guy, they beat la and wilson by a total of 11 points, and co beat same teams by a total of about 80, they just dont want to realise they ate not that good, maybe someday but not now, and they wonder why people dont respect there attitudes,
if you call taking the field competing, then anyone can do that, but hey you guys over at amat have have "more Balls" than anyone in the SGV!...haha cause that matters, have fun with your 2-8 record, hope it was worth it.
Bishop Amat IS A DECENT TEAM , playing GREAT TEAMS NOBODY IN THE SGV has a scheduele EVEN CLOSE . They do lose , but COMPETE . THEY CAN REALLY BEAT MOST TOP 10 TEAMS .
TM

Rankings have to take into account recent play and DR pulling out a win over a decimated LA team and squeaking by Wilson cannot justify their ranking as a #1 when SH crushes LA and Charter Oak the same.
All those teams would be 2-6 or maybe 3-4. None of those teams would even hit .500
Better yet, how would Amat fair by playing Covina's inferior schedule?
in all reality how would the following teams do with their schedule
6. Baldwin Park (6-2)
7. San Dimas (8-1)
8. Los Altos (5-3)
9. South El Monte (4-4)
10. Rosemead (5-3)
11. Damien (3-4-1)
12. Northview (5-3)
13. Arroyo (5-3)
14. Bonita (5-3)
and if they played today, what might the outcome be?
Diamond Ranch sould not be even allowed to be on any list for their blunder. Cheats should not get recognition.
Saint Fan, Do u really think theese teams are better then Amat? How would they do with Amats schedule? Get real kid...
16. Covina (5-3)
17. La Puente (5-3)
18. West Covina (4-4)
19. Mountain View (4-3)
20. Wilson (3-4)
21. El Monte (4-3)
22. Diamond Bar (2-6)
23. Rowland (2-6)
24. Nogales (2-6)
25. Azusa (3-5)
26. Workman (2-6)
27. Gladstone (3-6)
28. Sierra Vista (2-6)
29. Walnut (1-7)
30. Western Chirstian (2-6)
31. Bassett (0-8)
fred,
if you put dr number 1 then they would complain that you didnt type it good enough, they compolain about EVERYTHING , fact is they have not won a thing yet, there tuff scheduale has got them nowhere, just excuses for a lost, they comnplain that they play tuff games, no one gives em credit, they complain when get caught using ileale player, nothing is trhere fault, i wasnt surprised one bit right after you put top recievers, they complain,ok dr, you guys da bomb, show us your banners. enough is enough, you would think you would understand by now, if you start wininng anything you will get the respect, but you have to win something first, gl against co, you will neeeedd it,
Wow,
What is the deal with Bishop Amat? They are aweful this year and they continue to hold on to rankings... I don't get it. Obviously they have a very storied past and they've been ranked very high... as high as #1 in the state at times, but this year, their not playing the caliber of football that warrants a ranking as high at 15... in fact, I have a tuff time putting them in the top 20... they just aren't good enough... of course this is Bishop Amat, so they could go undefeated next year and be #1 overall... but not this year. Also, all this talk about Dane Crist and his magical abilities. I've watched him on several occasions and I think he is better than average... great physical tools, but he's not even close to all the hype. Against a good defence, he will struggle. A more impressive example of a big quarterback with a big arm and a world of up-side is #10 for Gladstone. He is a sophmore and can throw the crap out of the ball. He's still learning and is a little ackward looking at times, but by the time he's a senior, look out... he will have the D1 scouts chomping at the bit...
Finally, it's a real shame for the Dimond Ranch kids. They've worked hard and I'm glad their ranking is not being impacted by some clerical errors. They're a great team and deserve all the regard they're receiving.
This Weeks rankings are BS!!!!!
I thought Rankings are suppose to go by a teams strength of schedule & Charter Oak, South Hills, Glendora, Duarte, All have a weak preason schedule!Im sorry Fred but you need to go back & reevaluate these conditions be for you just put anything together I thought you were better than that but I guess not. Diamond Ranch #1 this week & from here on out HATERS!!!!!
1.Diamond Ranch
2.Charter Oak
3.South Hills
4.Glendora
5.Duarte
Lost in this whole season's discussion is the slew of injuries that have plagued Wilson's offensive line. This offense was poised to be one of the best in the area with Gilmore running, Tomsio passing and Romero receiving. They have played most of the season without three and sometimes four off. lineman. they lost their best one half way thru week 3, their starting right OT before week 1 and then again against Bonita and lost one wed. night before Charter Oak. They played without four against Bonita and their returning center playing OT. They havent gotten anyone back but have learned how to play without them and you saw that against D. Ranch. This team is not as deep as LA and therefore the huge blowouts in league. Too bad.
Big ups to Coach Andre from SEM!!!!!
It all starts at the line!
Wonder where he went to school?
Not sure but I hear they sure do put out alot of coaches....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Hi Fred,
just wondering, is there a way you could find out the status of the valle vista jv teams? I guess it is true, they are the future varsity teams. thanks and we really enjoy the blogs.

Dont miss the Dane Crist Aerial Show at Amat this Friday at 7:30. That Scoreboard will be flashing score change numbers faster then Amats Sunday Bingo Board. What a mismatch this is. It is a Patriots / Rams game. Be there the ball will be put it the air more than 30 times.

I don't, I went with Wilson because of how they came back against Diamond Ranch, and because of Los Altos' slew of injuries.
Fred,
I understand the methodology that rankings determine what has transpired and that picks are based on a belief of what might transpire, so I have a question. This week you, Fred, have picked a number 20 over a number 8. Do you recall the largest margin between ranked teams and a weekly pick you have made?
