Bishop Amat loses to Crespi 55-05.

When do you pull the plug on a head coach?

How much embarrassment can one person take?

Parents spend time & money to watch their kids.

Hopefully succeed & earn atheletic scholarships.

Will this head coach be selfish like the last?

The last head coach quit, due to failure.

He was at Bishop Amat way too long & it shows.

Then Amat hires his asst coach, nothing changes.

No wonder twenty some players transfered out.

The parents & loyal fans are all suffering.

Bishop Amat is known for football.

Football put Amat on the map.

Now the great teams of Amat is a past tense.

Amat can win a million CIF championships.

In girls basketball, baseball & cross country.

But will only be known for its football program.

It is sad to see a program like Amat fail.

They are below average & not even mediocre.

This coach needs to resign.

He's humiliating his family, friends & staff.

His wife has to defend him in the stands.

How sad is that? Emberrassing I must say.

He was never prepared for a program like Amat.

Not enough knowledge, tenacity or personality.

Amat deserves the best & needs to realize it.

There is way too much pride & tradition not too.

Amat deserves all the bad publicity,

the negative write-ups from former players,

and the poor rankings the Tribune gives them.

You pay for what you get.

I would like to say thank you to Msgr. Carroll.

Your the reason St. Paul's program went down

the drain & now your the reason why Bishop Amat

is a losing program. We were better without you.

You have brought nothing, but shame to our

program. You took away the fiesta which kept

tuition down for all students. You put up a gym

with no individual coaching rooms and you think

your somebody. Football payed for that gym and

most of the schools expenses. If anything you

should of built a stadium for Amat's football

team. I can't wait till you retire. That way

things can go back to normal. To the once known

nationally ranked & high profile program it once

was in the past. Yours truely, Lancer Lunatic

"Deja vu...all over again."

GHS fans do you recall where we were last year at this time in the Sierra League standings? The answer to this question is easy....we were 0-2 in league play. That's right 0-2...and fighting for a spot to the big dance as a third seed in CIF post.

While Chino has been able to split two games thus far in league competition they remain a tough hurdle as we draw near the end of the season.

They (Chino) would love nothing better then to right the score against us after losing last year to Coach P and the plaid crew.

Coming off two big wins against Damien and Chino Hills is not enough to propel us to victory against Chino just because we are currently 2-0.

We need to come ready to do battle because you bet Chino will come loaded for bear (plaid) and nothing would create a stir right about now in our league if we arrive on their turf "sleep-walking" like the ElDo game.

What makes this week even harder is natures unwillingness to allow us the opportunity to practice due to the local fires and poor air quality.

I'll bet pay-check...that Chino believes we will NOT be ready to compete physically or mentally.

Don't allow the accolades of our past victories cloud our path to the competition at hand....GHS needs this WIN as bad as Chino.

PLAID LAD

"RING AROUND THE ROSIE, CO PARENTS ARE NOSY, ASHES ASHES WE ALL FALL DOWN"

Coach Tom and Coach Lou must get a kick out of being in Championship Games and trying to guess/see all the "WE ARE NO.1" fans in the stands cheering wildly that blog otherwise. Some of those very same fans come in here and tear both those coaches a new one every chance they get!

Slime is alive and well at Charter Oak. And you know who you are. What ever happened to that Scarlet Letter thingie? Imagine a magic pair of glasses that would ...oh never mind. lol

im from los altos but you guys bad mouthing charter oak and lou need to lighten up, it was said on here there was no practice yesterday.

If coach Q can run the Baseball team the way he did, Sweet Lou can practice in the pouring ash. Winning comes first over at CO, heck the kids they'll get over it, we need banners.

SHRIVELED OLD SACK ?!?!? Come On NOW . Let's GET IT TOGETHER , FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO BAG ON !

you have to be kidding me that Grumpy had the chargers practicing yesterday???????

unfortunately as we grow older we not only get grumpy but we start to lose our minds.

someone should bust big lous shriveled sac. what an idiot.

To all Co response,
Thanks for the input about #28 or now # 3,and the name helped Thanks..Just wondering for Friday's game.

Come on Fred, Do you really believe Duarte could beat Damien or Bishop Amat. Damien and Bishop Amat should be at least 6 & 7 on that list despite their records. Isn't Damien the team that tied your #1 ranked Charter Oak....

RGD,
I've seen the favorite in this game go down more than a couple times and without their horses they are still one of the top teams in the valley, SCAREY.

Western Christian HS also held practice today

jfr,
no problem, like i said, if its true, would of suprised me if it was, also i womt be surprised if they dont play friday, and there is no way to make it up.i was there friday, they look very good,we would need to play our best and you guys not have a good game and also we would need the brakes, but not likely you guys wont be at your best.

Actually La Puente made a bigger jump going from 22 to 18

Actually La Puente made a bigger jump going from 22 to 18

Or even a list of top 2 sport guys.

hey wouldnt it be pretty cool to have the areas top 3-way-sport players???

they say they want to postpone the co la game but cif doesnt want to mess up the schedule but we will have to see how it is tomorrow. i wish we could just go out there and practice already. so how is it over at la? i heard it is like 10 times worse over there.

umm yeah we had practice today, it was just walk throughs. so calm down jeez. and it was a short one too.

Don't sweat it VANNER. The same thing happened to me this weekend.

P.S CO was not practicing today! CONFIRMED!

Chater Oak's number 28 from last year is number 3 now......

for co bro and sgv dude,
#28 last year is now #3 ben counce. he is not injured, he just switched #'s. a lot of people switched #'s this year. he still starts on d and also plays wr.

Bust Lous Nuts and rgd2626,
You know Big Lou better than that to ASSume that he would be on the practice field and risk anyone's health including his own. Please someone seriously just posted this comment!
He's not as young as he used to be and you'll notice that on Friday night when he's attempting to walk on the football field. He doesn't want to breathe in ashes as much as anyone else doesn't want to either. Ridiculous!
Get your facts straight and understand the truth of the story (there is NO story here!) before any of you pot stirrers eeerrrrrr potsmokers continue to have the munchies and keep eating pieces of bitter!
No offense to you rgd2626 and looking forward to seeing you Friday night!

PLAID LAD,

From everyone outside of Glendora, THANK YOU.

THERE YA GO BUDDY

Eldo & Redlands,
Hate to burst your bubble,
The Redlands team that beat you last year is 2 wins & 5 losses this year and not even 4th in their own league let alone the 4th in the state.
You probably have them confused with Redlands East Valley, who is in the same league as Redlands
and who this year would do to Glendora what Redlands did last year to the Tartans, but don't feel bad cause they would probably do the same to any SGV team this year.

south hills best team...
better then c.oak better then diamond ranch better then everyone watch n see south hills win it all by killing every team they play......

The arrogance of Lou Farrar needs to be called out right now. How in the hell did they practice today? I retract this if I'm wrong, but two people told me they saw them practiciing. How was it that every local team around Charter Oak were ordered to stay indoors, but C. Oak? My god, I understand it's football season and it's important that we're ready for the game Friday, but come on. People are dying and the smoke is all around us (ashes on my car now). You can not justify practicing today. It was like the Apocalypse out there today as far as air quality and the health risks.

Response to: All the what IF's in the world, including those in this blog.

Enough with your "what if's" regarding GHS's loss to CO...and..."if" we played them again....blah,blah,blah!

If games are judged by inches then GHS got beat by a mile. Their are no (IF's) in high school, college, or Pro football. For that matter there are no IF's in any sport.

CO beat GHS....and there is nothing more to say or imagine.

Since there are those that like the conjunction (If).....try using like this......

"If fans of GHS concentrate on this weeks game against CHINO our plaid crew would benefit from our support."

PLAID LAD

Just an idea, could you put last weeks rankings up next to the current ones

VOICE OF REASON!

the time you wasted responding on this blog should have been used getting your house ready as a first aide station or a safety area for horses and small pets. SHUTUP HATER!

charter oak scored more then 100 points in 2 games against good opponets STOP HATIN
there for real

BREAKING NEWS:
Damon Kuklinski(34), the linebacker/runningback is back and started practice for South Hills monday

Everybody grab water buckets and water hoses....Kalifornia (as Swarznegger would say) is on fire!!!!!!!!!

Who cares Glendora, Who cares! Only you and your myopic egocentric minds cares meanwhile California is on fire and houses are burning down but your arguing who would win a rematch. Are you serious that you have nothing more to discuss other than Charter Oak vs. Glendora? You walked away from renewing a contract. Stop talking hypothetical. On one night Charter Oak beat you and like they say the rest is history! Please SHUT UP! Walk away from the computer I repeat WALK AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER GLENDORA FANS! YOU ARE PATHETIC!

SH should be at the #1 spot...
Their on a role right now and basically seem unstopable. I dont see the Huskies loseing another game for the rest of the season. Tribune #1 spot to SH, just a matter of time
and for the rest of u D.6 teams look out come playoffs because the green and gold will be ready!

Duarte can be the WWF Champ for the SGV.

ANYONE NOTICE THE STATE POWER RATINGS LATELY?

THE REDLANDS TEAM WHICH BEAT GLENDORA IN THE CIF PLAYOFFS LAST YEAR IS NOW RANKED #4 IN THE STATE AND EL DO IS RANKED #20. THESE WERE VERY LEGIT LOSES FOR GLENDORA AND NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF. BOTH THESE TEAMS WOULD KILL ANY TEAM IN SGV.

disagree that CO would beat Glendora in a rematch.

the first game was as equally matched as a game could be without a tie. though, glendora under estimated CO and played with less intensity than usual. glendora beat a very tough chino hills.

Calpreps has Chino Hills (at chino Hills and neutral site) beating CO, LA and SH.

my money would be on glendora to win a rematch against co.

Dan & others, CO has been feeding on weaker competition since the TIE with Damien while Glendora has stomped that Damien team and just beat a tough Chino Hills. No wonder your O is "running on all cylinders". And don't give me the "no Snowden" crap vs. Damien cause you said you have "more weapons". We'll see just how good you are this week, even if we're missing some of our top dogs. I think LA wins this one in a close battle.

RedSox in 5

If your going to Let Schurr in the SGV top 10 then you have to let La Habra in which is closer to our neighboring schools, and we all know what La Habra is about, undefeated and destroyed SHHS in week 2. Altho if they played again I think the outcome would be closer or even a SHHS win. Teams get better as the season progresses.

Off topic
Does anyone know if there teams have cancelled practice due to poor air quality? and will games be rescheduled, if they are postponed

Gotta disagree with the Glendora would beat C.Oak
if they played now crowd.

I've seen both teams & both are good teams that belong at the top of the SGV this year, I feel if they played again C.Oak would win and it would be easier this time, not an easy win, but easier than the first meeting. C. Oak is running
on all cylinders right now and looks to be the more explosive team, the "D" is as good as any in the SGV.
My top 5 would have C.Oak and S.Hills at #1.

1-Charter Oak - Tough to pick between Chargers & South Hills
1-South Hills - See pick above.
3-Glendora - Tartans are real good, I just don't think they have as many weapons as the top 2.
4-Diamond Ranch - Started the season impressivly
but seemed to have cooled off a bit, have they lost momentum or is it the injuries.
5-Los Altos - Key injuries to probably their three best players yet they are still a force in the valley.

Steve,

Makes perfect sense to me, like stepping up to the Craps table and putting $10 on the Don't Pass and another $20 on the Passline.

I favor a simple mathematical formula to give me a weighted rating...

(WR) = (v ÷ ¾(v+m)≈∂) × R¢ + (m ÷ (v+≠m)) × C

Just keeping it simple dimple.

Hey Dan, CoBro I am posting this to let you know I VANNER did not post anything negative about you ever ! apparently someone is using my name and posting some rank stuff. As Dan and some others will attest, I never go down that road and never will. My posts are usually always South Hills oriented or whoever were playing, or a huge valley match up I'd like to comment on. So if you keep seeing outlandish posts using VANNER just know it is'nt me. It sure would be nice if the email address when you post was somehow necessary to post using any name chosen. (FRED).
BTW the Huskies are ready to take on Rowland! Im sure the Huskies are not looking ahead to South Hills -VS- West Covina but I am Dan! Thank's Dan for the blog support while I was out of town. My Son mentioned the VANNER imposter to me in a text.

fred,

i would expect if co loses against la their trib ranking would drop, while teams with wins this week will advance. if glendora wins this week and co loses, they should take over the #1 spot. of course that leaves dr and south hills wondering why. but, the glendora win over chino hills and glendora reasonably securing the sierra league championship merits the top ranking. calpreps power ratings have glendora higher than any other sgv team. certainly, the sgv tribune should recognize this with a top spot on the list.

also, if all area games are cancelled this week due to poor air quality, what are the options for rescheduling?

Don,

Rankings are based on what HAS happened, while picks our based on what a particular individual believes MIGHT happen. It's the same in college football. Look at this week's schedule. Boston College is rated No. 2 in the latest A.P. poll, but they are a 3 1/2-point underdog at No. 8 Va Tech.
Just remember the factors to determine rankings and predictions are different, so sometimes you get different results

Do not break your arm PATTING yourself on the back BREAKING NEWS . Bishop Amat is still just a DECENT team , Ireally DO NOT SEE THEM BEATING Glendora , Charter Oak,South Hills Or DR .BEST OF LUCK to the Lancers .

TM

bishop amat beats 6-10 on there worst night with the back up qb...and probably 2 of the top 5 (just not sure which ones)

and people these rankings are just 1 mans opinion its not gonna make or break your team

everyone wants to be # 1 but the lion climbing the mountain is always hungrier than the 1 thats on top im a charter oak guy and id love it if we were ranked like 12 right now haha

and last...why do people keep saying that if co and glendora played again it would be a different game??? both teams have improved especially co's offense

Take out The Bears & Insert CO CHARGERS ...

Is This Tommy Tartan ...

Nice to see that CIF is finally starting to take notice. #10 on the list is not quite where we should be, but it's close and it's a start. Keep it goin boys!

Coco Bro
you gotta let the glendo game go man. i hope you guys loose out the rest of your games unfortunate how you ruin it for your team cause you have no class

CO Bro,

A little bitter about the game, yes. Not you guys though. It's just the one game I wish we had back. I'm sure you guys feel that way about Damien or Upland. A little bitter about all of us (fans & parents included) who took you guys too lightly, but I can let it go if it helps get us a league title like last year for you guys. Good luck this week, I hope you guys win.

Thanks Tommy Tartan,

Your Tartanators are, (in my mind anyhow), the best in the Valley right now but C O's win week 3 compels me to rank them with Glendora as tied at #1. That was the only time all season I've seen either team and I believe the best team (that night) won. Frankly, C O should have had another score or two had they not shot themselves in the foot with stupid penalties.

If the two teams were to play again, I suspect the result would be different. The C O Defense was formidable, but the Glendora crew was BIG and athletic, up and down, front to back.

Don ...GOTTA LOVE YOU MAN . You are the Resident Sheriff. Schurr is a WEST SIDE TEAM .They have & always will be good , NO DOUBT , but look for your ink in other papers . Not here . Best of Luck to the Spartans ...

Fred
You rate Northview #7 and San Dimas #10.
Yet, in the picks you go with San Dimas.
Can you explain one more time how this works, cuz I still dont get it. Thanks.

Good catch Wilma. The tribboyz also have (their #15) South El Monte over (their #8) Arroyo Friday night.

Shurr High School?

You mean the Shurr HS in Montebello?

Head West young man.

http://www.insidesocal.com/murray/

Besides, they haven't really beaten anyone worth note yet.

IT STILL BOGGLES THE MIND THAT SCHURR H.S.'S FOOTBALL TEAM DOES NOT GET THE SAME RESPECT AND PRINT SPACE AS THE REST OF THE TEAMS,I GUESS IT TAKES A CHAMPIONSHIP TO GET NOTICED.SCHURR HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE DARKHORSE AND WE HAVE TO FIGHT FOR RESPECT FROM THE LOCAL PAPERS, IF YOU EVER ATTEND A SPARTAN HOME GAME YOU CANNOT FIND A PLACE TO SIT, THAT'S ALSO WHAT'S OCCURS AT AWAY GAMES AS WELL.ANYWAY SEE YOU IN THE PLAYOFFS BE READY.

Tommy T, is it just me or are little bitter about CO?

Well IF Duarte wins a CIF Championship . I WILL BE VERY HAPPY FOR THEM . Although they have had a ROUGH YEAR with all of The Drama that went on , A Championship might make things a little better all around . GO OUT & GET IT FALCONS .

TM

I wish Duarte could be put in a real league...i mean because i dont feel like they play teams that are as talented...duarte has good talent a little 2 much for that montview league...

well for now well just keep winning
but eventually i want to see a real game.
not all these game over by halftime...

Go Falcons..

FJ

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder what's the perception of them winning it, if they do win it all, going to be

What will the Valley say when the Duarte Falcons win CIF?

who beat south hills? oh yaa 6-1 trabuca hills and 7-0 la habra, but the one that stands out is the beating charter oak put on us in last years playoffs 35 - nil that hurt! it should be a beauty mate

Jaime, you're welcome here anytime.

Just wondering from LA

If your speaking of last year #28 changed his # to #3. He is still playing defensive.

sorry to go off topic fellas but does anyone know what heppend to big JOHN RABE at Damien and his Oregon commitment?

FRED?

Fred,
A pretty fair ranking this week. I think you might have San Dimas a little too high still, even though they likely didn't loose their game Friday due to a lack of skill, but rather a lack of good coaching. Arcadia, on the other hand, could stand to be #3. They were very convincing against a fairly good Pasadena team. I think you're right on the money with Charter Oak in the top spot, at least until they do something to give it away... they look strong, they play good football, and they don't make a ton of mistakes. This week's rankings are perhaps the most accurate of the season thus far. Good Work
SGV Football Fan

Don,

I like your list; I think it's fair when looking at the teams, their schedules and their performances. I don't have and issue with Glendora being tied at #1 with CO as they did beat us. I think CO is a very good team, but other than their win over us (quality win for them), they havn't beaten a "quality" team. Don't think any of their wins are up for a CIF berth. Their loss is to a solid Upland team, but they are even a boarderline playoff team in our division. Tie to Damien is not looking very impressive either, so they could really use a good win over LA I would say. Should be an intersting game. Fred's list has us where I expected. 3 weeks ago he had us #2 and dropped us all the way to #6 for losing to El Do (which more and more appears would handle any of us...they'll be a top 25 in LA Times this week), and I think that was too harsh. Now it's too hard for him to move us ahead of a team that hasn't lost even though we blasted Damien and got a hard fought win at CHills...better wins then the other 3 ahead of us had. No worries though, I appreciate your viewpoint as you seem to be above loyalties (unlike me :) and yet you have great knowledge of what's going on in the area. You're a top 5 poster in my book! Fred, good list and I think you are doing a great job. Don't let the heat of some get to you. Hope the games are played this week.

Anyone watched the De La Salle vs Mission Viejo on tv? These kids are not very big. Just big on heart. They execute the ball very well and are very disciplined. They have beaten teams that are physically bigger and faster. They practicall destroyed every team they've played including vaunted MV.

Excellent football program and it helps to have a head coach in Ladouceur as he is arguably the best HC in the Nation.

Amat and Damien take note. Maybe we can learn something from this great program.

http://www.spartanhood.com/

I've watched SH play after their shaky start. With all the changes and adjustments made, they are a very dangerous team with various scoring threats...way different than what they showed in their first two games. Had these adjustments been in place from the onset....they would be 7-0, sitting at the #1 spot and we be singing praises to Aram T.

#28 Xavier Johnson is not hurt as far as I know. He is just not getting any PT. #15 Kyle Rycraw has been getting the bulk of plays.

Co Bro,Plaid LAD, etc..
Does anyone know what happened to # 28 from CO?
I know he was a great defensive player and at the last few games I noticed # 28 on the sidelines..Is he injured?

I just read on one of the other threads that Coach Gano is taking a beating for the quote in my blog, and for not talking about the rest of the team.

Please, STOP!

He did mention the other player, and he did mention how, despite the injuries and despite being without No. 5, Los Altos was still in a position to beat Diamond Ranch.

In fact, he said, "we should have won that game," but left DR off the hook.

So, please, if you want to blame anybody, blame me for not posting the interview.

And don't count LA out yet. They might lose to Charter Oak this week, but I doubt anyone will want to play them in the first round of the playoffs.

-- Jaime Cardenas

P.S.
Fred, I hope you don't me coming onto your turf like this, I just had to set the record straight.

Looks pretty fair, I do hand it to my alma mater, they are "showing up" and making higher-ranked teams earn their "W"'s.

Achieving in despite of, and through, adversity is a lesson many of these kids may be able to keep with them for a long time to come.

1. (Tie) Charter Oak – Convincing win Friday pulls 'em up

1. (Tie) Glendora – Peaking when they should, for Sierra League play

2. South Hills – Huskies ought to be happy with the SA League about now

3. Diamond Ranch – Sub-par showings against Bonita last week and shorthanded Conqs this week should push the Panthers off the top

4. Arcadia – Convincing win over a tough Pasadena team

5. Bishop Amat – As disappointing a season as this has been, the Lancers still could beat the rest of the field head to head

6. Los Altos – With so may injuries DR should have managed better than a 4 point win, don't count the Conqs out yet

7. Damien – See Bishop Amat

8. San Dimas – A little too busy reading their press notices last week?

9. Duarte – Still haven't beaten anyone worth beating

10. Bonita - #4 in the Miramonte is still one of the better teams in the Valley, especially when healthy

11. Alhambra – Never did pull away from the rest of the Almont League

12. Arroyo – The MVL Team to beat

13. South El Monte – Bouncing back strongly from an ambitious pre-season

14. El Monte – Might have to make time for the Thursday night game 11/8 between Lions and SEM

15. (Tie) San Gabriel – Still in the hunt for a playoff berth

15. (Tie) Northview – May be in for a long night Friday

workman over azusa this week. i can feel it.

HA HA HA

I DID NOT MEAN SEM should be top team , but for sure a top 10!

SEM STILL NOT TOP ?!?!? Fred what do they have to do , I guess beat Arroyo FIRST & the rest will take care of itself .RHS you NEED A W THIS WEEK , not for RANKINGS SAKE , for PLAYOFF opportunity .Aside from SEM not being ranked , I think the list is pretty fair . Although 6-10 look kind of off . I KNOW Bishop Amat would BEAT DOWN 6-11 .
