Monday Night Football: Glendora, Duarte keep on rolling
It's official, three championship games on Friday
Montview
Duarte (4-0) at La Puente (4-0)
Sierra
Ayala (3-0) at Glendora (3-0)
Miramonte
Bonita (2-0) at Charter Oak (2-0)

Monday's results
Duarte 49, Bassett 6 -- The formality is over, time for the Falcons and Warriors to play for the league title.
Glendora 28, Chino 14 -- Not this close, really, Tartans led 21-0 in the first quarter and coasted home. Get ready Tartans fans, you've got a championship game on Friday against Ayala.
Ayala 19, Chino Hills 10 -- This Ayala story is amazing. To go from 0-10 to beating Damien, Chino Hills and now playing Glendora for the Sierra League title was unthinkable at the beginning of the season. And they sure do make Duarte's only loss not that big of a deal.

Fred.
Sorry, O wise one
Check out Smith Center on Max preps.
You wont believe it.
Would you believe, no tranfers, Amazing!
Fred
Are you sure your wire story is real?
Who plays football on Tuesday?
Where can we pick up this story?
It sounds a little hard to believe
Duarte had a decent preseason, Ayala, Monrovia and El Segundo. All those schools are in tougher divisions.
I don't believe you are running up the score if you bring in JV and you limit your offense to the basics starting early in the 3rd quarter. It's unfair to your team to prepare your kids all week and not let them play at all. You had to be at that Ganesha game to understand what happened. Int's, Kick Returns, big plays made that game out of control in the first half. If a player finds a hole you cant expect them to fall down. You cant make a 16 year old throw down a pick. Duarte didnt even try to score in the 2nd half.
It's a no-win situation if Duarte doesnt get their starters at least a good half of reps when they get out of division they will lose. When they do play and try to use plays in game time situations like every other team in the country they are blasted for running up the score even if they only score fg's or off special teams in the second half. People look at the scores and form baseless opinions.
I beg to differ with you when you say "most of Duarte's key players are Seniors" The only key seniors are Harris, Reese, Goldsmith, Gatlin and Ortega. The rest of the starters are Juniors and Sophomores. Look at the team leaders stats, other than the name mentioned above, it's Juniors and Sophomores that are stepping up for Duarte.
I liked the idea that someone posted before about switching Ganesha and Duarte in leagues. The Valle Vista would be a step up but then again look at Duarte's Roster most of their key players are seniors. If they dont rebuild they may see some revenge next year. I seen Duarte first hand and thier decent any I think they only ran the score up once against Ganesha. Duarte aslo star scheduling a little better Preseason. Ayala was tough but you know Charter Oak is looking for a game next year.
Picked this story off the wire...
SMITH CENTER, Kan. -- Smith Center scored 72 points in the first quarter of a high school football game Tuesday night on the way to an 86-0 win over Plainville, according to a report in the Salina, Kan., Journal.
Smith Center forced six turnovers in the first quarter as it racked up what is believed to be a record for points in a quarter by a high school team, the paper reported. The previous record was 66 by Prescott, Ariz., in 1925.
The defending state champion has outscored its opponents 640-0 so far this season, including a 69-0 win over Plainville earlier this year.

The mob mentality about Duarte running up the score is ridiculous at this point. Duarte scored 3 points in the second half and people still try to say the score was run up. How do you think other teams would feel if in the second half Duarte just took a knee? And then you even complain about a high school coach showcasing his kicker for a scout in a game situation? There is a MAJOR difference from doing something in practice and doing it in a game. Duarte is in a weak league but they still need to try to improve from week to week to prepare for the playoffs. According to all of you Duarte should stop trying to get better and improve anytime they go up by 21 even if its in the 1st quarter. If you dont like Crutchfield dont like him, but dont just sit around spouting ignorance about playing the game of football, your bias is jumping off the page.
Whatever you guys think is good with us. Lets play football and stop crying. We can beat any body in our league sports or academics.
Go falcon pride....
Game of the week:
La Puente and Duarte!
It's funny to see from the inside that everyone thinks of Duarte as this ghetto school, with thugs and bullies, but no one pays attention to the good things that have come from the people of Duarte. It's a school and city that will never be good enough for the ones who live in posh areas with their white picket fences, but for those of us born and raised there it's OURS. It's apart of us that cannot be taken away. We never cry to have a running clock when getting our butts whooped, we just kept playing. So to those crying now, please talk to whoever you have to and have your school face the the Falcon Pride... or is it too much for your precious pansy boys to handle?
I love seeing the criticism of "ANYTHING" DUARTE, especially blaming a coach for running up the score. I just wish that coach Crutchfield was there when I played. He plays the game like it was meant to be played. It's not a pansy sport. We've taken losses like that before so when we have the chance to give them, why not? I'm with you coach. My last game at DHS was a playoff road game, we got beat by Morro Bay 57-7. They set school records all night, including most points in a single quarter 30! and beat the previous school record of most points in a game, even though it was only by one point. My point is, I guarantee if you ask these kids if they are mad the score keeps getting ran up, they'll say YES, but if you ask them if they have the chance to do the same to someone else they would also say YES. So it doesn't matter how many people hate on Coach C, because as long as Duarte is doing good or REALLY good in the past few years, people will continue to find something to cry about.
I do care about the game between Glendora and Ayala this Friday night both teams noone expected to be in the Sierra League Championship but what I am concerned about is how Ayala and some of the players there do not get coverage from there horendous year of 0-10 last year to there 6-2 and 3-0 league start. Give credit to the coaching staff and some of the key players who brough Ayala back. There passing game has been wonderful and extremely hard for any defense to stop. With a 1500+ yard throwing and 14tds QB in Baca who has a leading receiver in David Quiroga with 700+ yards receiving 8tds in the air 1st in Sierra League and over a 1000 all purpose with 3tds running as well to other good receivers in Damon Baca fourth in Sierra League also using Arthur Forest recently. Defense has played solid and line offensively tremendous improvement from 72 sacks allowed all season to averaging only 1. Ayala and there players deserve all the coverage in the world yet still noone gives it to them. Ashamed...
GHS vs Ayala
GHS has had one close game against CO...which we all know too well what occurred. The remaining games that GHS hosted (with the other exception/ El DO)...we competed at a level that dominated our opponents with a degree of perfection. I say "degree of perfection" because we all know HS football isn't a perfect sport. Making no excuses the feeling and attitude of our team will be sky-high throughout this week culminating with Friday's game.
Looking at Ayala, makes one realize that they are equipped to take on anyone and by using their tools of the trade, they have capitalized on their strengths and exposed their opponents weaknesses. Ayala's last minute heroics have hit pay-dirt... just ask Chino Hills how much it cost them.
Knowing this, our plaid crew must come ready to do battle, and never step off that level of competition until we are directed to board the bus after the game.
With this type of attitude-WE CAN NOT BE BEAT!
PLAID LAD
About the Tartans coverage...Thursdays...Mondays......they've figured out how it works....Winning helps too!
Good luck vs the Bulldogs.
Fred
Thanks for the 411
PLAID LAD
I don't believe so, but you can purchase the game of the week video.
Fred
Are the video tapes of the games ever sold to the general public before they are modified for the Tribune's use.
PLAID LAD
Plaid Lad, our guy Raul Roa video's full games, then slices it into a highlight package. And he does it all from the sidelines, which gives great sound and close-ups on the hits.
The Tartans do get a lot of good coverage, they've figured out how it works. When you play a lot of Thursday night games, you're on the front page a lot. And when you throw in a Monday night game, that's icing on the cake.
Nobody pays me well.
FRED, does the Daily Tartan pay you well?
Fred
I was wondering if the Tribune ever video-tapes full games or is it your duty to just report what you observe? I realize that you post video clips on this site but aren't they provided to the Tribune by those that offer? Anyway...just wondering?
PLAID LAD
You guys are way to hard on Crutch. He's a graduate of San Jose State University, played in the Arena football league, has proved to be a very good high school coach, and has players doing well in the classroom. And this isn't a guy that took over a winning program. He took over Duarte, which has never won a CIF title in the school's history, and has them banging on the door. And for the record, they didn't run up the score against Bassett. They jumped out to a 46-0 halftime lead, then scored three points in the second half. That's hardly running up the score.
Response to: Mike the Clone
Mikey..sorry I didn't post until now. Busy out making taco money for the family.
Watching the game last night made me realize that no matter how good we think we are, we still need to be reminded how easy it is to surrender to "let downs."
The first half of the game was over-the-top, as we jumped on Chino and controlled the game. The second half dictated a different result then the first. We loss plenty of polish to our game and it showed with poor executions, concentration, and focus.
The answer to this dilemma is that we need to come ready to PLAY 4 FULL INTENSE QUARTERS of football, or we can expect each team that we square off with squeeze back into the game based on our lack of effort.
The quick turn around this week offers little to be desired, but we are not alone in that battle...for Ayala is feeling the same aches and pains of the short week.
So, how do we prepare? First of all our plaid crew and coaches need to focus on this coming game and NOTHING ELSE!
Following through with our planned offensive and defensive schemes/sets and sustaining and completing our assignments, come Friday, will tell just how prepared mentally and physically we really are.....as well as, proving otherwise.
There have been many descriptors on this site detailing what GHS is and what they are not. The moment of truth is before us and if 15 long awaited YEARS to accomplish a league championship is not enough MOTIVATION...then what is?
FYI: Our team needs to come ready to strap-it-on because there is no more tomorrows...it's time to go out and earn some more respect and a SL patch.
PLAID LAD
Duartes coach is a moron. If a D1 scout wants to see if a kicker can nail a long FG come to the practice field. High school football should be about teaching kids class and respect not running up the score or showcasing a kid. TIME TO START A WEBSITE CALLED FIRECRUTCH.COM!!!!!
Ayala, I talked to your coach today and will have his thoughts on the game in tomorrow's paper. What an emotional guy. We'll also have at two minute drill up late tonight talking about the Ayala-Glendora game, as well as Duarte-La Puente, and two more games I won't mention yet.
Ayala, my comment was to anonymous who wondered why one of your receivers wasn't on our top ten list...
LOL
rican i aint baggin on crutch
i was just merely saying that i saw what he does and what upsets others
you must be a duarte fan huh?
Some of us know what your coverage area is Fred....But as another poster has mentioned, we get little if any coverage in our local paper, our paper does not have a cool blog to visit, and half of our league is in your distribution area so we get more coverage by the trib than by our paper anyway. Maybe it is time for the trib to include Chino Hills in their distribution area. I for one would dump the bulletin and subscribe.
Let's keep clean and please, NO BASHING OF PLAYERS OR COACHES
No kidding Fred. I was referring to the Daily Bulleting, not the Tribune. We have gotten better coverage by the Tribune when we play teams in the SG Valley, then we do with our own local paper.
Thanks!
FUTBOL SCHOOL ...How original ? Did you think of that all on your own ...WHAT A GENIUS ! That's it , I am selling my home & moving to Duarte .
TM
Duarte suits up what...25 players from what I've seen. Not much depth, so the old argument in putting in the 3rd stringers to avoid running up the score does not apply in this case. What next? People are gonna start saying put in the water boy or the cheerleaders to prevent Duarte from running up thae score?
Warriooooors come out to playyyyyyyyy.
Falcons 28/ warriors 21
Good luck to both schools
Go Falcons
I was at the basset duarte game last night. We scored 3 points in the second half. We practiced some hurry up plays to see if the boys can handle it. JV was in there. we had are kicker try field goals from 50 and 60 yds. If preparing the boys for the playoffs is wrong then we don't want to be right. The boys play both sides of the ball and are doing a good job at it. we are not a big school but we have a big heart. Falcons don't be discouraged on these hater comments. You play to win and see were we land. Good job boys. Coach we are with you.
Go Falcons...
Umm, Ayala is not in our coverage area for rankings and all-area purposes.
Think we will go check out Glendora vs Ayala to see some good football! I have been dreading the last two Amat games 2-6, since we are on our way to tougher times ahead... Guess there is always baseball ahead!
I have know idea what games this Fred guy is wathing or where he is getting his stats. But Ayala has the the best receiver in the all the valley. The guy is ranked 15th in the state and is 6th overall in the southern section. Not to mention he is leading the sierra league hands down in TD's, receptions and total yards. There is no way these little division 3,5 or 7 can compete at the level he does. We played Duarte, another team this Fred guy loves, and beat them soundly. We held them to zero yards. This paper needs to start focusing on the real players and teams in the area. A FAN

Hey - Voice of the Warriors all All,
You want to why Crutch let the Field goal attempt happen? It's because he had college scouts there watching our field goal kicker last night. That's why we also went for the field goal attempts whenever the opportunity was there (including the 53 yard one). That what Crutch does best, gets our kids D1 scholarships - he has contacts and does everything he can to get all of players college scholarships. When he has scouts coming to our games to watch are kids, he not going to let them sit out just because of the score, he is going to showcase their talent.
Those of you who where at the Duarte Bassett game last night forgot to mention that Crutchfield rushed his field goal team onto the field to attempt a field goal as time ran out in the fourth qtr. Your right #1 Falcon fan why should anyone really care? This is what everyone comes to expect from this coach.
Hey Hey Yea Duarte Went For It ON 4th Down...So What..Why Do You Really Care.It Wouldn't Have Changed The Game..You All Get On Crutchfield Why He Didn't Choose TO BE IN THe Montview League I Mean When Playoffs Come We Might Have To Go For
It On Fourth Down..Maybe even Next Week So You Say..But It Dosen't Matter What You Think As Long As Coach Crutchfield Keep Sending Guys To D1 Schools What Ever You Say Wont Matter At All.
The Falcons Are A Good Team And I Think The SGV Dosen't Really Like That Especially When Were Ranked High In The Tribune Rankings And First In The Mid-Valley Division CIF Polls..We Know What Were Doing Thats Getting Ready For The Post Season..So Your Comments WontReally Matter..But Thanks
Proud Warrior,
I was at the Gladstone/La Puente game friday night. LP kept their starters in the game until 7 minutes left in the game while leading 34-0. I didn't see Sanchez of Gladstone ask for a running clock like he did at Duarte losing by the same score in the third quarter.
Battle for the Sierra League Championship this Friday night will easily be one of the best games of the year. This game should be video taped in its entirety and made available for anyone who can't make it down to Citrus College.
Get your seats reserved early. It will be standing room only.
PREDICTION:
Glendora 35
Ayala 14
RAY HERNANDEZ IS A CLASS ACT , La Puente should be VERY THANKFUL to have that man as a Head Coach . BEST OF LUCK WARRIORS !
FIGHT ON
TM
Way to go Warriors. It is good to be back on top of our league. Win or lose on Friday, the program is heading in the right direction. Now, if we can only start retaining more of our students and stop losing them to LAHS and WiHS then we will be even better. Another positive is that we have a coach who is teaching our young men how to win. We could have beat most of the teams in our league by 50 points but our second string was always in there during the 4th quarter and sometime even the third quarter. This is what HS football ought to be about. Leave running up the score and ambarrasing others to thugs at the Univ. of Miami. Play hard WARRIORS and leave it all out on the field. Our sophomore QB will come through along with our small but speedy RBs.
Going for it on 4th down is equivalent to PRACTICING 4TH DOWNN CONVERSIONS except in a game time situation... anyways goodluck Duarte and La Puente, I'm out.
TM
The bottom line is this COACH doesn't understand the term CLASS. It's more like A--
HOW ABOUT Practicing 4th DOWN CONVERSIONS . From what I can see , The Duarte 1st team D seems to be better than MOST defenses in your league .WIN WITH CLASS , there is NO DOUBT that you guys are the BEST in your league , but we will see what Coach Hernandez & The La Puente Warriors will have to say . GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS .
FIGHT ON
TM
Duarte Coach is just a joke. The league is very weak and he uses it to run up the score and team stats!
What he trying to prove? Look at the division, weak there also.
The guy is just a classless coach. The third string could have played all night last night and beat Bassett.
TM, hmmm, maybe to get the kids used to converting on 4th downs so when it comes to a big game like Friday against LP they'll be ready to execute. Come on haters just chill, at least Duarte didn't scores 85.
Duarte fans . When a Coach / Team who is winning by 7 TD's goes for it on 4th down , looking to score ....WEAK !!! HOW CAN YOU DEFEND THOSE ACTIONS ? Even if they were only winning by 2 TD's & had their 2nd & 3rd string in ...TAKE A KNEE & RUN THE CLOCK . Win with some calsss , not like an ASS .
FIGHT ON
TM
I can't belive the Daily Bulletin did not even run a story about the Ayala VS Chino Hills game! What a disgrace our local paper has become. Maybe their embarrased about their top 10 picks.
Should be a great match-up on Friday night. The Glendora faithfull have always treated us with respect. Who would have predicted at the beginning of the season that Ayala and Glendora would be playing for the league championship.
Go BULLDOGS!!!
THEHenry, man , stop bagging on crutch because Duarte only scored 3 points in the second half after 46-0 in the first.
blog registration is a good idea, helps keep things civil
breaking news ;
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE IGNORANT COOMENT . Even JOKING about hitting LOW , whether it was an accident or done on purpose . The Glendora RB that was hurt is having to SIT & WATCH . What a GREAT WAY TO SPEND YOUR SENIOR SEASON ...

What's your take on last night?
I got to hear it from one side (if you know what I mean.)I have some concerns about the short turn around.
As a observer what say you?
And to Get your tickets......
"No "marquee" or "standout" players, they truly play as a team.
You won't find many Tartans on top 10 passing, rushing or receiving lists, but, they get the job done and win games."
Excellent observation on the "Bagpipers"
Late!
Mike the Clone
There is no question that Glendora has alot going for it, and should be considered the favorites in this game. If this were a muscle vs muscle game, Glendora would win hands down. Fortunately for Ayala, Glendora is the type of team that they match up well against. Ayala doesn't have to rely on a power football attack to beat Glendora, which is part of what makes this such an intriguing matchup. The turf at Citrus should be an advantage for Ayala and it's speed passing game.
On another interesting side note, I think Ayala's offensive coordinator played for Pasqy back when he coached at Ayala. Another Ayala coach had a son that played for Pasqy and later coached with him at Glendora, which means these two staffs probably know each other pretty well.
I can't wait til Friday, and hope Ayala fills most of their 5,000 seats at Citrus. Win or lose it is nice to know that one of these two teams will be the Sierra League Champs instead of Damien or Chino Hills, who everybody thought would be playing for the championship in week 10.
I CAN NOT WAIT TILL FRIDAY !
FIGHT IS ON !!!

GHS
Per Citrus College web site..Citrus holds 10,000. 5000 each side. It will be standing room only on the GHS side.
The Glendora vs Ayala game, under the lights at Citrus Stadium, will be a spectacular evening of great football.
I can't think of two more deserving teams to be fighting it out for the championship. Ayala is comming off an extremely dissapointing season last year (no wins) and Glendora hasn't captured the big prize in over 15 years. I guess you can say Friday night at Citrus will be a real "Cinderella's Ball".
While both teams should be considered "winners", only one will walk away with the big prize. My pick will be Glendora for this reason. When Glendora comes to play, physically and mentally, they can not be beat. But they must come to play. What makes Glendora different from most other teams is that every player in every position is a real stud. No "marquee" or "standout" players, they truly play as a team.
You won't find many Tartans on top 10 passing, rushing or receiving lists, but, they get the job done and win games.
Ayala, has a marquee QB in Baca and they play hungry. But, Glendora seems to be more battle tested over the last two seasons with most of the team playing together for 7 to 8 years. It's Home Coming night for the Tartans this Friday with the home field advantage. The stands will be packed with record crowds.
Good luck to both teams! This is what High School football is all about.

The game of the year is on. Ayala vs Glendora for the Sierra League championship. Who would have ever guessed this one before the season started? It just shows how hard work and team work can pay off.
It should be a classic matchup of Glendora's power running attack with solid defense vs Ayala's speed and passing attack with a bend but don't break defense.
Whoever wins, it is well deserved and it should be a very entertaining game.
Go Bulldogs, It's on baby OOOh AAAH
i went to the bassett/duarte game as an interested party...
bassett got worked... they were just overmatched...
i also saw some of crtuchfield's questionable tactics...
who tries to do a last second play right before the half leading 42-0? there is no need.. that and they went for it on fourth down twice while leading
now i see why people are irrited by his actions...
id understand if he had beef with bassett, but there appears to be no ongoing beef so who knows...
*shrug*
CONGRATS GLENDORA . WHAT A GREAT WIN . NOW , get ready to bring it on home . FINISH .
FIGHT ON

FOR WHAT ITS WORTH....
I feel that if it comes down to another coin-flip at the end of this season for the Miramonte, Coach Gano should bow out of the proceeding's with honor and allow Bonita and Diamond Ranch to advance.
This assumes that LA beats Wilson and Bonita, certainly not a foregone conclusion, and Bonita loses to CO, pretty much a foregone conclusion.
Bonita has had the short end of the stick the last two years and this years Conq squad has been so depleted, that it would likely get knocked out very early.
breaking news
your team won't make it to the playoffs? glendora will be sierra league champs as predicted during the summer. you can continue to doubt your shadow all day long. sooner or later, you will have to acknowledge the fact you have been wrong all season.
Diamond Ranch 1-2
Lets go falcon! We will not take la puente lightly, we will pratice and prepare for this weeks game like its the playoffs.
GO FALCONS!!!
P.s. I said ayala was a really good team. good qb and running attack and nice receivers and good defence. I havent seen glendora play but it should be a good game.
hey ayala if you hit glendora low and hard they start crying and quit...also toss pass works well
The most impressive thing about Ayala is that they are for real.
Matt Baca is a stud, with over 1500+ yards passing and a very good defensive team.
glendora can stuff the run but Ayala is a passing team, we will see what the outcome is

Good night, I'll have to sleep on the game of the week. Three good ones to choose from, no doubt about that.
Game of the year this Friday Glendora vs Ayala at Citrus college.
Good job Falcons....
Warrioooooors come out to playyyyyy.
Friday will be the game of the week.
Go Falcons.
Solid win Tarts. The old "prevent D" kept this one from being a huge blowout, but I guess it sealed the win as Chino didn't look to be going for any quick strikes. Settled for long, time consuming drives taking what we gave them in the 2nd half. Made for a boring 2nd half. I think each team had just TWO possesions. Anyway, good to see Beckwith back and I believe even got an INT with that bad thumb. Horn suited up but don't think he played at all. I really miss seeing him on the field, but if it means he's helthy for Friday, look out Ayala. WOW, what a HUGE game that will be now with their big win over CH. Get there early Ayala, it's our homecoming and we're expecting a record crowd. How many fans does Citrus hold...anybody know?
It's official, three huge league championship games on Friday

Duarte (4-0) at La Puente (4-0)

Ayala (3-0) at Glendora (3-0)

Wow,
Ayala 19 Chino Hills 10, If this score is true,
I bet some heads are starting to turn up in Glendora, This Ayala team is getting more impressive each week.
Best wide receivers huh?
So who is number 1???
I BELIEVE IT WAS AYALA 12 AND CHINO HILLS 10 LATE IN THE FOURTH QUARTER
Ayala 19
Chino Hills 10
Final Score!
what's the chino hills/ayala score
Final score
Glendora 28
Chino 14
Glendora showed a lot of class. With 30 seconds left on the clock on Chino's 5 yard line, 2nd down, Glendora takes a knee instead of running up the score. Great game Tartans. You acted like real champions and a class act.
We are very proud of you!
I feel bad for Bassett. Any chance they win a game this year? It would be nice for them to feel the joy of victory. Cause they sure know the agony of defeat.
If by super list you mean a top 31, yes, and a best wide receivers in the SGV thread.
I went to the Bassett-Duarte Game and a Bishop Amat game broke out. 46-6 3rd Qtr Ouch!
hey fred are you gunna do a super list this week?
28-0 Glendora at half.
Wow, Duarte 46-0 at half, and Glendora 21-0 after the first quarter...
WOW GREAT PLAY! (Millsap-Trinity) Its an amazing ending to a close game...wish i caught that one live.
It's rivalry week!!!
Get'em Rosemead!!!!
FEAR THE 'MEAD!!! WAR PANTHERS!!!
so much crying about GHS loss to CHARGERS. Suck it up and complain to your AD about no more games scheduled to do the impossible and get the trophy back .
Horn and Beckwith will be suiting up for the Tartans D tonight. Only Marteney remains out with severe knee injuries.
Good opportunity tonight to watch the Tartans, almost, injury free.
Go Tartans!!
Sorry we're not perfect Anon. Things happen. Go ahead and compare our coverage to other local newspapers, and then come back with your comments.
Those Trinity boy's pass that ball around better
than the Lakers.
Sad, Fred that the Tribune can never quite get it to together when it comes to reporting local games of interest and concern. I'll bet if you boys got paid by how much you actually covered...you and your buddy Ramirez would have long stories to tell your landlords about how you got inched out all month by more aggressive reporters. Hence, no $$$$ to pay the bills. Fred, pretend your a sports reporter and get off your lard ass and cover a local story.
If the Duarte/Bassett game goes as expected, lets see how long Wardell leaves in the first sting?

Great to hear he's fine. And as for me this is our last year were headed to college, next year our son hasn't made a commitment yet but think were going out of state..Best of luck
Thanks Fred. Figured it was an error, but was just...well, curious.
Curious, it was bad communication on our part at the paper.
Hey Fred,
I never heard the story of why the La Mirada/Artesia game got an article in the Trib. today but not a mention about Glendora/Chino or Duarte/Bassett. Who made that call?
When is Manzo going to do his job?
When is Manzo going to do his job?
Bishop Amat needs a new coach!

thanks for asking, hes gonna be ok, he was dehydrate, and delerious, was comp, etely out for awhile, that is why they had him coptered out, as far as playing thru this,im pretty sure its officials call to play, i was where i could actually copter landing and game being played at the same time, i could not belive they were still playing,i support la, and appriciate both coaches and programs but i sure thought they would have waited, i dont care how long they had to wait, i havent missed in game in over 12 years but i didnt even know or see the play on the field, had no idea we got the ball back and frankly didnt care at that time, but at least hes ok, again thanks for your concern, my son coahes at la alson and he happens to know the kid and his girlfriend very good, so we were in formed on the way to the hospital, they drove there car, cant imagine driving to the hospital with your son in a copter, ty again, good luck, when were not playing the same time as you, ill be there , allways am...
if ayala beats chino hills tonight, the glendora/ayala game will be the "game of the year" at citrus stadium this friday night.
WOW, MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL AT ITS BEST!
GLENDORA SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM HANDLING CHINO TONIGHT AS THEY MAKE THIER WAY TO THE CROWN OF THE SIERRA LEAGUE. GLENDORA WILL WIN BY 21
CHINO HILLS VS AYALA WILL BE A BETTER VIEWING GAME. A TOUGH ONE FOR SURE. BUT, ITS VERY HARD TO BET AGAINST CHINO HILLS. THEY ARE BIG, TOUGH AND ONE OF THE MOST POWERFULL TEAMS EVERY YEAR. AYALA HAS GREATLY IMPROVED AND BACA IS A VERY GOOD QB. I SAY CHINO HILLS WINS THIS GAME BY 14
It's really a toss up. Seeing the great arm action of Baca and the Ayala team go after the Monsters of the Sierra League Chino Hills or see the Dads from Glendora with that stupid, "Let's finish it!!" sign again.
Who's idea was THAT!!?? by the way. How many times does the photographer have to pretend to take their picture. lol. Seeing all those Dads find their way back to their seats is like seeing former Phillipines President Marcos with a chest full of medals. Hilarious!
The morbid side of me wants to see the team that scored 14 points in 38 seconds to beat Morrison and Co. The football side of me wants to see Chino try and play James Brown with a little "Pay Back!!!" after last year's Glendora thrashing.
It'll be a tough one all the way to the end. But I think I've found a solution to feed both sides of my twisted personality. I'll see Glendora/Chino for the first half (Glendora is the best front running team this year) and see Ayala/Chino Hills the second half. (Because as we now know...it's never over till it's over!
Best of luck to all the Sierra teams.
Thank the Lord there is an alternative to the three doofs ESPN has on the tube Monday nights.
Too bad the boys have to play two games in five days.
Now which game to see... hmmm.

Where does it say in my post that "You are right Glendora should beat the crap out of Ayala". You are seeing things. I can understand why you need to bring attention to your program by promoting a big showdown with Glendora. Get by Chino Hills tonight, then we can talk.
rqd2626
How is your player that was air lifted out? We @ Co thought that was very disrecpectful to him and his family let alone the team to continue play while he was being taken away. Do you know who's call that was? Best of luck to your team the rest of the year stay healthy..
Love the Bag-Pipe shot!
I imagine learning to play one of those things is far more difficult than learning to read masked coverages! LOL!
GOOD LUCK TARTANS !
I am sure NO ONE @ GHS is looking past Chino . ONE GAME @ A TIME .
FIGHT ON
TM
abhsfbfan.
heck, they were giving themselves the title before opening kickoff this year.
Not looking past Chino Hills at all. It's all about Monday Night football right now.
Don't talk about looking in advance. You Tartan people were giving yourselves the League title after beating Damien and Chino Hills. ..So what are you Squawking about. Read the post again it starts with Monday Night encouragement. You are right Glendora should beat the crap out of Ayala. Heck we should probably just stay home that night....Maybe it hasn't dawned on you yet, but even if we lost tonight against Chino Hills, Friday's game would give us a show down for a possible 3 way share of the title..nuff said
AHSfbfan,
thinking to far in advance! need to beat a very tough chino hills team first. then you have to face an even tougher tartan team. ayala has their hands full for sure this week!
prediction:
TARTANS WILL BE 2007 SIERRA LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
i personally may go check out the duarte-bassett game and although it may be a blowout it can be a diversion to normal monday nigh ho hum
co fan, im from la, i agree, my fear this week was thinking about theses kids playing so close together, would hate see injurys from this, and would hate see a a top team lose a player for cif, good luck who ever is playing,as you saw friday injurys can really destroy a team, nice game the other night.
To all the teams who play 2 a week good luck, and be careful. I was @ the La Co game and to see that many injured players is very frighting for HS Football.
Duarte should handle Bassett... either way, the game will be won on the defensive side of the ball.
Are you ready for some football. Monday night football....Go Bull dogs. Lets have a show down with those skirt wearers on Friday at a packed Citrus College for the Sierra LEague Tilte
Go Tartans!!
