Tribskin Pick'em, your predictions and ours

Steve Ramirez and Fred J. Robledo going head-to-head throughout the season.
Records:
Robledo: Last week (12-5); Season (79-24)
Ramirez: Last week (11-6); Season (74-29)
Notes: I read in an LA times blog that a St. Francis player played our two-minute drill over and over to get pumped for the Los Altos game. Guess he didn't like Time Warner's Reginald Miller calling it the sure-pick of the week and saying the Conquerors will "devour" the Knights. Or me saying the Knights are catching the Conquerors at the wrong time. That's why they play the games, so Ramirez and I both lose on Los Altos, and we both lost picking West Covina over Rancho Cucamonga, which was close for a half. We also both had Baldwin Park, so give credit to El Monte, who beat the Braves on the last play of the game. At least Ramirez picked South Hills over Fullerton, I couldn't of been more wrong about that. Ramirez also picked Nogales over Montclair, which is another game I missed. Still, I picked up another win because I had Bonita over Northview, Troy over Diamond Bar and Azusa over Sierra Vista, while Ramirez went the other way on all three.
Thursday's games
South Hills vs. Rancho Cucamonga at Covina District Field, 7 p.m. - Robledo (South HIlls); Ramirez (South HIlls)
Diamond Ranch vs. Oaks Christian at Ganesha, 7 p.m. - Robledo (DRanch); Ramirez (Oaks Christian)
Los Altos at Western, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Western); Ramirez (Los Altos)
El Dorado vs. Glendora at Citrus College, 7 p.m. - Robledo (El Dorado); Ramirez (El Dorado)
La Serna vs. El Monte at California, 7 p.m. - Robledo (La Serna); Ramirez (El Monte)
Mountain View vs. Tahquitz, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Tahquitz); Ramirez (Tahquitz)
Friday's games
Bonita at San Dimas, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Bonita); Ramirez (San Dimas)
Ayala at West Covina, 7 p.m. - Robledo (West Covina); Ramirez (West Covina)
Rowland at Baldwin Park, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Rowland); Ramirez (Baldwin Park)
Bishop Amat at Carson, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Bishop Amat); Ramirez (Bishop Amat)
Charter Oak at Claremont, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Charter Oak); Ramirez (Charter Oak)
Orange at Rosemead, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Rosemead); Ramirez (Rosemead)
Chaffey at Wilson, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Chaffey); Ramirez (Wilson)
Northview at Nogales, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Northview); Ramirez (Northview)
Covina vs. Sonora at Covina District Field, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Sonora); Ramirez (Covina)
Gladstone vs. Azusa at Citrus College, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Gladstone); Ramirez (Azusa)
Workman vs. Sierra Vista at La Puente, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Sierra Vista); Ramirez (Sierra Vista)
Alhambra at South El Monte, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Alhambra); Ramirez (Alhambra)
La Puente at Bassett, 7 p.m. - Robledo (La Puente); Ramirez (La Puente)
Jurupa Valley at Walnut, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Jurupa Valley); Ramirez (Jarupa Valley)
Arroyo at Tustin, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Tustin); Ramirez (Tustin)
Saturday's games
Brethren Christian vs. Western Christian at Ocean View HS, 7 p.m. - Robledo (Western Christian); Ramirez (Brethren Christian)
Final thoughts: By far, this is the toughest week of the season for picking games, and a week with a great Thursday lineup, so fans will be able to watch some of the valley's best teams on their off nights. Ramirez and I differ on eight games! Glendora, South Hills, Los Altos and Diamond Ranch all have toughies on Thursday. In those games alone the SGV would be fortunate to go 2-2. Of course, Friday night is the Smudge Pot, and maybe one of the best in years with a 4-0 San Dimas squad going against a Bonita team that already has knocked off Covina and Northview with relative ease. Other games to watch: Can Bishop Amat keep it going at Carson, and can West Covina beat an Ayala team that beat Duarte and played Diamond Ranch tough? Whatever happens, what a great week of football.

One & Out,
Will Harris saw some playing time in the 4th qtr.
in the Washington game, 3 or 4 weeks ago, he made a tackle but other then that, not much came his way.
Walter Thurmond from West Covina is starting at
cornerback for the Oregon Ducks, He took in a fumble for a TD vs. Michigan this year, saw him on TV as a freshman last year several times.
one and out all true and great post.
No that many want to go to Private school anymore because of high cost of tuition. Smart Money tells me if I am going to pay for school then I will save that HS money for my kids college if he does not get a ride somewhere on his talent. The money I save will help his college tuition payment. Also there is less talent in the SGV most are finding affordable housing out in Inland Empire area as well as their parents employer who decides to move his or her company out to the Inland Empire where doing business out there is cheaper. People are uprooting and selling their homes to buy something out in the Inland Empire that is twice the size of their (example) la Puente Cracker Jack box they live in. If there is to be one power house Public school in the SGV then everyone must cheat and get their kids to play at Los Altos or a So. Hills..no one wants to go to Bishop Amat like before, it cost too much and the politics they play there oh good lord! it is all equal now and we have no more resources or football farms to build. SGV may get a lower Division champion now and then but it no way shape or form will Bishop Amat be the Dominant school it once was. Demographics and a almost recession bound economy have become a private schools doom as far as recruiting. Saving money nowadays is very important and your kid can go to public school and still get a scholorship as easy as a private school student.
uuuuhhhh ???
While looking at the argument some people have posted in regards to the talent Damien has as well as any other school out here, the fact stands that none of them have major D1 potential. Don't get me wrong, there are players with great athletic ability. Unfortunately, great athletic ability doesn't constitute great football players. Rabe is very good "high school" player who committed to Oregon, yet he rated a two or three star overall. McMahon has great speed just like 10,000 other high school players across the country and he will be lucky to hear from a Nevada or New Mexico State. Herrera is another one with great speed at receiver but he doesn't carry a 6'4'' frame running 4.38. These kids are good for what they are doing now. Miller was getting looked at by some programs but struggles with extra points now and again. And D.Harper is not an argument...by all means congrats to him but being asked to come to school and walk on the team but that doesn't mean he amazing. USC filled a roster spot with him just like they did with South Hill's Justin Hart two years ago. He will be buried on that depth chart and will get in against the Idahos of the NCAA when SC is up by 30. "God's gift to the world" Will Harris (Charter Oak) hasn't even played and why? Oh yeah he's not that good. He's gonna sit behind Taylor Mays and Kevin Ellison until they're gone and by then SC will have some freshman with twice the talent that he does. While I'll agree that Damien's coaching is sub-par at best (excluding Carroll considering that the defense is the only thing keeping their season alive), these kids aren't going to be stars any place else other then where they are. The SGV produces one or two kids at most that are really capable of a D1 scholarship, and no the WAC, Mountain West, Sun Belt conferences don't count (no disrespect to Ian Johnson). The Haydens, Minors, and McClutcheons aren't out here anymore. I can't remember a big time recruit coming out if the SGV since Donnie McClesky (Amat) and even he went sorry ass Cal that didn't start getting good until he was an upperclassman. And I know there are going to be names like Bryan and Jeremy Patton thrown at me but c'mon. Jeremy hasn't done anything significant at all and Bryan's only memorable highlight will be his pick off of John David Booty while splitting time on the field. I haven't heard anything from Daniel Drayton (Los Altos) either. Sedrick Ellis and Chris McFoy (Chino) have had decent college careers at SC and everyone was drooling over them when they played out here. The SGV doesn't have the LB Poly, Mater Dei, Hart, Valencia, St. Bonaventure's of the world. Those teams come here to kick our asses for a confidence boost. You have to go out west for the amazing talent or go out to Norco and Orange County for the four and five star prospects. The SGV is stuck in the middle and that is exactly where most of these kid's talent lies in comparison to the rest of the state...in the middle.
SKRID.. I dont care what Plaid Lad says about you, I think your O.K. Oh, dont forget the six shooters...
Anonymous from OC,
I'm not a Glendora supporter except for the fact that they are an SGV team, Ive seen them play West Ranch & they earned my respect from that game, they are a quality team. You call the bloggers on here fools, & claim they don't know what they're talking about yet the way you've been
downgrading this Eldorado team, tells me you don't know what your talking about.
I can see Eldorado as a top 10 OC team, they may not be on that list yet but they sould be at #10, instead of Troy, Troy is a good team but Eldorado would handle them, Troy was barely able to squeak by Diamond Bar this past week. [Diamond Bar is much improved but they are no Eldorado]. Also, Eldorado kliied a Fullerton team who I
bet would give Troy a decent game. Eldorado's only loss was against this weeks PAC5 #5 ranked team and they came within 13 points of them.
As for the other teams they beat, Valencia is
3-1-1 not 2-2-1 like you said. [your facts were
wrong], & they beat Valencia easily, 36 to 14, Dana Hills is 0 & 5 but all their games were against PAC5 teams with the exception of Eldorado. If Glendora wins this game it will be a quality win for them against on of OC's better teams, not one of OC's elite teams but one of the better teams.
Mr. LAD, I happened to be at your one defeat this year and that is only my honest opinion. Your pass game does not allow a defense to back off the line. #33 is good but can't carry the whole load with #20 out. I'm just stating the obvious and eldo is going to load up and challenge you until you show otherwise.
CROME, let me go retrieve my helmet and red wig from the garage before I respond.
Response: Skrid
Your post made me think that you have not had a chance to see us play this year. If you did you would have concluded that we are a combination of different strengths, which have allowed us the opportunity to claim a few victories thus far.
Yes, our defense is more developed then our offense. But that is the norm for most teams as league approaches.
Coach P and Company have mixed things up on offense this year, which in turn has forced our opponents to play us more honestly. Last year we were one dimensional with one particular RB handling the ball 98% of the time.
This year our offensive efforts are more balanced with different looks at the ball and that would include a passing game, which you claim we do not have as of yet.
As young or untested as you mentioned our passing game to be....it will become our strength and not a weakness as we compete each week.
FYI: Showing too much this early in the season creates little surprize when it counts....patience skrid the best is yet to come!
PLAID LAD
Skrid, Skrid, Skrid. I have to agree. This game will be won or lost depending on how the O-Line plays. Run game good..Victory. Run game bad..bitter loss. Time for the O-line to step up. Our unsung heros (Da big men) All SGV eyes on you tomorrow. We will be watching every down and rooting for you. EL DO is good. Are you better??
Plaid Lad, I am not looking to get into a bashing contest but what happens if eldo shts down the tartan run game. I'm sorry but you do not have a pass game yet to keep you in the game. Your boys are though up front and can pound, your D, the same but as for the passing game it is still undeveloped. That's not a knock, just a fact. Good luck and I hope TM is running around screaming all night considering thier head coach is an ex-BRUIN.
Response: Chris Rome
Romie your right!....ElDo is a champion team and deserves the respect of a their title earned by those who played and participated last year.
Tomorrow's game will difinitely pair off two great looking teams. My opinion, is that GHS has all the components pf handling the best of them.
ElDo won't be easy, because like some have suggested they are a solid and well disciplined team. But they are also without several of their key players that cornered that championship of last year. This fact could be the difference in their execution and expose a possible lack of experience.
On the other side of the coin, the same can be said about GHS, because they are not the same team as last year either...(I consider them to be better)
Player for player, pound for pound, I would say that GHS out grips ElDo in key positions which will prove to be the winning factor.
Look for GHS to make impressive strides on offense. ElDo will also find out what GHS has to offer defensively as yards between tackle to tackle or long pocket sweeps will not be achieveable. The alternative will be a pressured ElDo QB to "pass"....and once again we will be their to remind them at what cost.
FYI: GHS will not allow anyone the opportunity to disrespect them in their own home.
PLAID LAD

Its hard being this right. I hope El Dorado wins and I think they might but listening to you guys talk about what you dont know hahahaha
Now I know what Gano meant in his article about you guys when it comes to not knowing anything about football.
Just to funny

well then u respect then because they r in ur little southwestern division.
los altos and charter oaks are better than el do this year, im sure
diamond ranch? didnt they just beat ayala by 3. ya thats tough lol
you wanna see good orange county football come watch orange lu, los alamitos, edison, servite ,santa margarita.
el do has nothing compared to them.
and do ur research next time
at El Dorado (Placentia, CA)
[2007] El Dorado (Placentia, CA) 21, [2007] Glendora (CA) 17
at Glendora (CA)
[2007] Glendora (CA) 19, [2007] El Dorado (Placentia, CA) 17
at neutral site
[2007] El Dorado (Placentia, CA) 20, [2007] Glendora (CA) 17
the game is at glendora and u guys r favored
is it something in the water out there. you guys wanna pound your chest for betting somebody you should be beating
WOW, thats what i call fools
ANON @1:02..Your post ended with "stupid sgv fools" Why are you putting down a great El Dorado Football team? CIF has El Do ranked #1 above Los Altos, Charter Oak, and Diamond Ranch. #11 in all of Orange County according to OCVarsity.com. Thats the OC Registers prep section, El Dorados only lose was against Esperanza in a close match. Calpreps projections and schedule has ElDo favored to beat Glendora. 20 to 17. (predict a match-ups is out dated) but for fun it rated Last years ElDo team would beat this years ElDo team by one point. Nice! You should have more respect for El Dorado. We DO! We know El DO is a great team . Thanks for the reminder. Your friend, 'The sgv fool"
some of you guys are lost, sorry.
here are the facts
oc has a top 10 and thats IT. el dorado is not in that. in the OC register the reporter lists who HE thinks in #11 to #25. 5 or 6 different voters vote and that is just one guys opinion as who the next 15 teams are
el do HAS lost. they are 3-1. the teams they have beaten are 0-5, 2-2 and 2-2-1. they beat fullerton by not much more than south hills did
go to the predict a match-up on calpreps. GLENDORA IS favored since they game is at glendora. calpreps does a neutral (Which they made the predicitons off of) they have el do by 2, then also at el do and at glendora. the game is at glendora and so glendora is favored by two.
us orange countians are looking towards three games this weekend. mission-de la salle. mater dei - corona centenial and servite - notre dame so.
we could care less about a one hit wonder el do playing some school in glendora.
here is a question for you...when was the last time el do had over 8 wins in a season including play-offs besides last year.
the answer 1979. yeah that a big time program lol
besides last year the el do football program was 35-48-2 in the past 8 years, and never made it out of the first round.
thats called a one-hit wonder
el do is 3-1 and the 3 teams they beat are 4-9-1 yeah thats big time.
stupid sgv fools
YEAH RIGHT GIVE MY REAL NAME !!!
So people can google & call me & or drive bye ...
NO THANKS . KEEP ON KEEPIMG ON , As I will
When you put down Glendora, you put down the SGV, When you put down the SGV, you put down California, When you put down California, You put down America. I for one am not going to listen to bloggers bash the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Enough already!!
And I suppose you have identified yourself and TM is your real name? What difference if I post as anonymous or TM, EXACTLY, no difference. The purpose of this blog is to express your freedom of opinion regarding the subject topic. Since you are always promoting yourself and where you live, you are game and frankly beginning to sound like a real pompous dumbass!
The standards applied to Glendora are very unique compared to any other team on this blog.
Why are Glendora opponents constantly reported by some bloggers as "overhyped, overated, average team, etc.." when all noted resources say otherwise. El Do is undefeated and highly rated as the #11 team in the coveted Orange County. All projections have El Do beating Glendora.
Do bloggers which hate Glendora purposely post about Glendora opponents as "overated" just to diminish Glendora's victory? How cheap is that?
If Glendora is skillful enough to beat El Do (CIF SS CHAMPIONS) this Thursday, it would not just be a major victory for the Tartans (best for this season), but an enormous victory for the SGV over OC.
Can we not try to all get together on this and support our SGV team the Tartans?
No need to put out my resume here , give yourself a name & or identify yourself . I live in a HOME & am a HOMEOWNER .I never said I was better than anyone based on where I live . As a matter of fact I do live in a VERY NICE GLENDORA HOME . I will not stoop to a battle of words . Best of luck to you & I SINCERELY HOPE YOU GROW UP . Life is way too short to be so angry .I AM NO BETTER THAN ANYONE HERE ...
Well maybe YOU .
TM
WINGNUT.. Calpreps has El Dorado favored to win 20 to 17. El Dorado is a very good team #11 in the OC. Glendora is # 12 in the IE. I expect a battle. Both teams match up really good.
CalPreps has the 2006 El Dorado team beating the 2007 El Dorado team by one point. Please, feel free to continue underestimating the Hawks. We appreciate that. They also have Glendora as the favorite this weekend by 2 pts. You guys who give little credit to a great football program, I'll either be rubbing your nose in it next week or saying "oops...never mind". It will probably be a simple "Who wants it more" outcome.
TM,
Who cares if you live Glendora, you probably live in those federally subsidized housing complex. So quit with this "I live in Glendora, so I'm priveliged and above everyone else".
Do you hear anyone else say "I live here and I live there" just blog and quit trying to put yourself like your a high and mighty Trojan. Probably never even attended a JC.
Thanks for including me in those that represent
Glendora . Although I did NOT go to GHS , I am and have been a PROUD GLENDORA RESIDENT for the last few years . Let's ALL stop this bickering . REALLY SHAMEFUL !!! Look what happened to our neighbors to the west . I TRULY HOPE & PRAY that what happened there does not EVER HAPPEN HERE . The state of HS sports the last few weeks has REALLY BEEN EMBARASSING .We as FANS/PARENTS should just sit back & let the Coaches & Players handle business on the FIELD .We should support & TRY to keep a positive outlook on our LOCAL teams .I'll let it start WITH ME . Remember who we are & what we represent ...THE SGV .
MY PARADISE .
PEACE & LOVE TO ALL
TM
Truth Man,
A lot of teams graduate players...it looks like El Do has re-loaded well. OK, they are not OC top 10.......they're #11 Dude. That's pretty dang good for the OC which has SEVERAL top D1 teams (unlike the SGV). Shoot, nobody from the SGV makes their top 10 right now. Hoping that the Tartans can rise to that level this year, but we'll see. Should be a great matchup.
come-on SGV fans. beating an average oc team like el do will be a big deal? they are considered a one-hit wonder and probably wont even win league this year i hear. the first two games of the year against pac-5 teams they scored 13 point total, then had two decent games against poor teams. whats the big deal. they dont have a solid program like los altos, charter oak that will always have a good team. glendora is for real this year and will challenge for a sierra league title
El Dorado is not the same team as last year. Those guys started alot of seniors that have moved on. Sure they are 3-1 but have not really played anybody. Heck the OCRegister DOES NOT have them in the OC Top 10. They have not proven that they are a top ten team in orange county. Winning a southwestern division championshp doesnt mean much in the oc. With that being said i expect a close game and glendora has more than enough to beat the hawks this year.
Skrid,Skrid,Skrid.. Every community has a few fans who make it hard to like ..Dont blow a gasket. Have a little fun. You seem like a good guy with a 'small anger issue'. I liked your Damien comment about spending good money. We may have common ground.
Chris,Chris,Chris... Having graduated from SH I think I did pretty well with the ladies there. I even dated a very attractive respectful young lady from GHS. I also like to joke but at the same time am very blunt. I even played in a FB game the summer after my senior year with four GHS guys which whom I became good friends with. A QB,RT,OLB and SS.
Like I said before, it's not the kids or staff just some people on this blog who make me want to put my helmet back on. As for the red hair, no.
Let's face it, Glendora fan makes it very hard to like them.
Skrid,Skrid,Skrid..When you attack a community, it will attack back. Chill baby.. You have established your disdane for Glendora, South Hills and Reggie Miller. I'm sure their is more. When I read your posts, I picture you looking like Yosemite Sam with a hockey helmet on. Why are you so angry? Oh, Couldnt get a girl from Glendora or South Hills and Big Reg wont return your calls? That explains it. Why didnt you say so up front? Hint."Reg likes chicks'''SORRY
Anonymous,
Who is the disgrace, you hide behind no name and talk crap. If damien had a district my kids could go there but why on earth would I waste good money to send them there. You are the same chump who has about five different names today, so buck up kid, If you ask me nicely I'll give you the name of the street little girl.
Plaid lad, TM, MTC, Chris Rome, White Flag,
This is what represents GHS today.
Either way its a Thursday night game for me since I have to work Friday evening, Diamond Ranch vs Oaks Christian is my soup of the day...
Too bad DR is so beat up and I hope their back is able to play, should keep it competitive...
For all the bad things said about Ganesha the upside is that their football field is a great place to watch a game...
If DR beats Oaks I think we can put to rest the areas #1 without argument...
Joe Colt
Skrid
You are a discrace to the community you live in. Did your kids go to Damien? Is that why you hate your community so bad.
Joe Amat,
Thank you Sir. Good luck this week.
Hoodini, one more thing, I was twenty-five when I purchased that house in Glendora and proud of it. Don't forget hoodini, when the street lights come on it's time for dinner.
hoodini, I think most people understand what i'm geting at by spelling ananapuss without using spellcheck. Me smart, me hoodini.
hoodini,
That's funny you say that, the first house I owned was off of verdugo north of the HS campus. I loved my neighbor's on the street and community but unlike you I had a chance to climb the ladder of success. I wish you all the luck in the world envious skrid, keep typing from mom & dads computer and maybe one day you'll get that apartment off route 66.
Dirty old skid-mark, ur just another hater that can't afford to live in glendora.
Hoodini or is it little girl who uses many different names,
Can you spell JACK@SS or is it shdog, stick with one name little girl.
SKRID-MARK, YOUR OLD SCHOOL WOULD DISOWN YOU. THE WORD ANONAPUSS IS NOT A WORD BUT "IGNORAMOUS" IS. BEFORE YOU POST NEXT TIME HAVE YOUR WIFE AND KIDS COMPLETE A SPELL CHECK ON YOUR POST
Anonapuss, I'm not a hater of the glendora players or staff, just you people.
Have a nice day or is it Can we agree,
I wonder how many books and teacher raises you could have given if you didnt build that multi million dollar gym so you could bounce a ball off wood on. Show me the web site that rates glendora as one f the highest in the state. I garuntee I can point out at east twenty schools rated as high or higher than yours if you produce the website.
SH#$DOG, good job at making my old school look bad. Keep it up doorknob.
SKRID-MARK, UR WHAT WE ALL CALL AN IGNORAMUS!
SKIDshorts,
Why build a stadium when you have Citrus College ($1m field) several blocks away? Several schools use this stadium. Glendorans prefer to spend the money on the kids education. Thats why Glendora schools are rated one of the top districts in the state. Hows your school district rated?
Have a nice day!
Dirty "Skrid" mark your now stinking on Glendora
When is GHS going to be able to build there own stadium. Oh yeah, they need to win something first.
Skrid,
Blinded by your hatred of Glendora? The Tartans are 22 seconds from being undefeated this year with a 3-1 record. You act like the team sucks. You are Crazy if you think West Ranch and Etiwanda are lousy teams. You sit alone my friend. Only the haters continue to hate.
Fred,
Why is the Game of The Week such a difficult decision? You have the reining CIF champs ( El Dorado) coming to Citrus Stadium playing against one of the few SGV teams (Glendora)capable of beating them.
If the SGV Tribune decides not to give this game the proper attention on our own turf, I'm sure the OC Register will travel all the way here to cover their champion. Are you going to make SGV fans read the expanded story and photos in the OC Register sports section?
Come on Fred! This is an easy decision!
anon, I cant worry about things I cant control, I can only hope and try not to control through words like glendora fan.
Can we agree, The Scot, Irish blood in me actually made me purchase one on the other side of the pond. I dont think you would care for the colors though green with a little blue, gold and black. I have been to a glendora loss this year but only break it out on 3-17 every year.
I issue a simple challenge yet ths only ruffles your feathers, WHY?
Skrid
You are quite a man :(
How about this, being that you are trying to hold Glendora to beating a team which most likely NO ONE IN SGV could beat, let's say with a Tartan victory against El Do, you will become the ultimate Tartan fan including showing up to future games wearing a kilt.
Can we agree to this?
JFR,
you're secrets safe with me !:?)
Skrid, Nice dig at Reg. Why dont you worry about Charter Oak?
FRED, Is "BIG REG" going to jinks glendora and give us the five reasons for a win in this game.
Fred, Why don't you just give glendora this game, they deserve it just ask them. Hey, they played eldo in BB last year in CIF. SSSTTTTOOOOOOOPPPP! I love HS football and could give a crap about BB. I know that is the only sport glendora can hang thier hats on but this a football blog. I say give them the game but if they lose the issue of glendora being the game of the week is over for the rest of the season. If you BELIEVE in your team tartan fan you should have no problem agreeing to this. STEP UP.
ANON@12:08,gotw,etc. Do the math! Freddy does not care what will be the better game. He cares about what his readers want to read. DR vs. OC is his choice. I want to tell you an open secret..Ready? Fred is a reporter for a newspaper that makes money selling Newspapers. Please stop embarrasing us adults with your posts.

Why do you live in a community you loath so much?
Why do you care so little about your community?
Why are you even on this Blog? You don't have any family members attending High School? If so, why don't you support your school?

Glendora/El Do Game of the week. Did you not get any attention growing up? OH FREDDY PLEASE PLEASE WATCH US. Where are you really from? I have lived in Glendora for over 30 years and have never meet anyone as desperate for attention as you are.
El Dorado defending CIF Champions traveling north with their hardware up to the beautiful SGV! I expect a big crowd with fellow Southwest Division teams taking a gander of what it takes to be a Champion.
To see what Coach Bailey has done with this football team over the past few years is simply remarkable. It was horrible watching years and years of talented YL Pop Warner football players avoid El Do and go play at Esperanza, Mater Dei, O Lu and Servite. It reminds me of what Rowland is going through now. Strong JAAF program but most will move out of the area before the 9th grade.
So for those hard-nose, less-talented ball players who go out there and run through walls for YOUR school and YOUR community, I salute you!!
For Glendora fans, here we come. Best of luck reaching the end zone Thursday.

Glendora might have a chance if you checked the roster of the championship game against CO 90 % of El Darado were seniors might be a new team
Freddy,
DR vs Oaks Christian will be a blow out with OC beating DR. DR has way to many injuries to stay in the game.
You want an exciting, sit at the edge of your seat game, then you better be watching the Glendora/El Do game. This game has much more local flair. This game can surely go either way. After wining the CIF championship right here at Citrus Stadium, El DO will be back to take on the Glendora Tartans with one of the top defenses in the valley. Citrus Stadium will be packed!!The DR game is very one sided. As good as DR is, the lost of key players will make this game a wipeout. Also, the game will be at Oaks Christian...very few fans will make they way up there.
Last weak, Glendora ended the West Ranch wining streak and will do the same to El Do. Aside from Tartan running back #20 severe injuries, other Tartan injuries have healed and you should see the Tartans at nearly full strength this week.
THIS GAME DESERVES THE TRIBUNE TOP COVERAGE "GAME OF THE WEEK" AND YOUR SGV FANS WILL DEMAND IT! Without a doubt, could be one of the MOST EXCITING games of the year! Your call if you want to bury the coverage.
SGV GOTW! Shut up! tired of your begging!
Fred,
I'm biased but this OC vs. SGV matchup at Citrus in the heart of the valley has too much intrigue not to be TGOTW. El Do was D-VI champ last year, same division as so many local top teams, and still #1 so far this year, playing in the same stadium as last year's champ. Playing against CO's big brother to the north (who they recently beat at home) from a higher division. The DRanch game is similer with lower division teams, less intrigue and less "SGV" (They'll get covered in the Daily Bullitin anyway). Not to mention Glendora beat El Do in the first round of CIF last year in basketball at their place! Could be some revenge wanted there. Should be the biggest Thursday night crowd for sure. This game proves Glendora is a for real favorite in the Sierra. The other games are solid games, but not as compelling. Who ever thought a Thurs. would out shine a Friday around here. I hope all 4 teams win, BTW.
Diamond Bar HS call Diamond Ranch and schedule the game! (909) 397-4715. You can pick where you want to play. At home, away or on Diamond Bar BLVD and Pathfinder! Our coach and AD are willing to play! What is your excuse? Or we can play at the end of the season. We will come down to the school and play you. Pads or no pads. All I hear from your side is "next year" or "it is DR's fault." Don't make it sound like you want it to happen. DR is new and doesn't have the banners hanging in the gym, I 'll admit, but we all know in the city who has the current best sports programs! Either man up and play us or remain quiet and focus on badminton.
LA will lose their second in a row to Western. I saw some film on these guys and they are HUUUUGE!
LA may top last year's 4 game slide and lose 5 in a row (SF, Western, SH, DR, CO). I hope to God this doesn't happen...but very possible.
"Rumor has it the Wilson kid who left SH to go to SP, is out with a broken foot."
It's not his foot. It's a broken knuckle on his hand.

GAME OF THE WEEK aka glendora dad,
DR vs oaks holds a ton of interest to the sgv. They lost to st. boney in a tight game and as you glendora dads say have "reloaded this year" aka ELDO. Call the LA TIMES already tartan fan, I figured a local paper like the tribune wouldnt be delivered to an elite city like yours. Why not start up the DAILY TARTAN so you can all continue to live in your own litte Utopia.
Travel Agencies Suck,
While comparing So Hills to Hawaii, Don't you think Columbia would be a better choice, since So Hills is known for their drugs!
Hey Glendora Fan
Maybe you should schedule DR and find out how good they are! They're in the SGV just like CO!
Joe Amat,
I might as well print my name on this blog. AHHH the good old days Joe Amat. P.S. your good.
Fred,
Game of the week has to be Glendora vs El Do for one simple reason. This will be the SGV first chance to earn back some respect after El Do beat up Charter Oak for the big crown. Glendora has the strength and D to stop El Do. This game needs to be the game of the week to show the OC we care about are area. Oaks Christan is old news and who even thinks DR is even in the SGV.

Thursday game of the week?
No question Diamond Ranch/Oaks Christian.
No other game is close.
JFR,
Orangewood Baseball ?
If so that narrows you down to one of the dozen or so names on the plaque by the snack bar.
True ?
Great points about Gano though - he's all about winning, so he'll do what he thinks is best for the team.
Fred,
Most impact and most exciting game this week will be Glendora vs. El Dorado. If Glendora could pull this one off (and they are very capable of doing this), there will be celebrations through the night in SGV!
big Panther blue
Anyone who would support a OC team when playing a SGV team most be a real twit.
Fred,
Great games on thursday but I think you have to go with DR/oaks even though thier streak just ended. That is to good to pass up.
Gano Haters,
I cheer for one of Gano's biggest rivals in the miramonte and am sick that you question this man. I have known this man for thirty years and he coached me to a championship "not at LA and not in football" and my parents consider him thier fifth son. Who else has followed a Despain and has had this success in HS football. Greg would never put his pride in his choice of a QB before a football team. His comments hit the nail on the head, pull your head out bleacher QB's. He is a man's man and only tries to win for LA.
This has been posted by an LA HATER, but a fan of the coach and person, kiss off to the rest!
JFR
south hills must play with high energy, mistake free solid game in order to be VICTORIOUS, and than roll into a loss altos battle. good luck huskies !
"HELLO GLENDORA FANS"
It will snow in Glendora this weekend if your team wins. But you do have a good basketball program.
I think El Do vs. Glendora should be the Game of the Week.
Friday nights game of the week is Bonita-San Dimas...On Thursday, who do you like between Diamond Ranch-Oaks Christian, El Dorado-Glendora, Los Altos-Western, or South Hills-Rancho Cucamonga at the District...
Stupid knock knock jokes...Fred, put those in the kindergarten blog.
Would love to see Glendora kick El Do's A**.
If the Tartans play the full game, El Do will fall. This will be a great game to watch at Citrus Stadium where El Do beat Charter Oak for the CIF championship.
Lets go Glendora!! Don't let us down! Come out slugging, none of this 1st Qtr sluggish s***.

Dude, like I think it was probably, like sarcasm, ya know. Not like an actual question, cha...
Try not to act like participating on this blog makes you something you're not. If the blog was limited to people who actually know the game, the deafening roar of crickets would abound.
damien has a bye they are definitely gonna win hahhha
Trojan Man you're the kind of person that types before he thinks. It's called sarcasm. By the way I know a couple of 4th year juniors in high school. They flunk out of school on hardship and get another "year" of high school with special circumstances. But then again Trojan Man you knew that. You're always looking for a fight or to embarass. Maybe we can meet and I can pick you up and take you to the local Recruitment Office. George Bush is running out of good ol' Ameriacn Fighting Men. What'dya say? Ceres chingasos? or ceres que te chingen?
YEAH DUDE , Sure RED SHIRT HS ?!?!?! If you do not know that answer .....WOW . You probably should not be on this blog . THINK ABOUT IT !?!?

Anonymous. Karma is a wicked B! Too bad Willison is probably as gifted as any QB out ther but there again. Disgruntled stars go to Damien. And forget you are a star and enjoy just being a kid. Priorities. Gentlemen. Priorities. Although South Hills is a sweet school to attended. Kind of like leaving Hawaii (South Hills) for Puerto Rico (St. Paul) if you know what I mean.
Get well kid and light it up next year. Are there Medical Redshirts in high shcool?

Rumor has it the Wilson kid who left SH to go to SP, is out with a broken foot.
Joe Riley, Yes now I remember Pat saying that, and after the Lakers won the 2nd time the players wouldn't let Riley speak. The best Damien can do is a tie..lol
Chris Rome. You must be a young lad or only a 1 sport fan. Pat Riley say it when they were celebrating their Championship in the 80s. "We'll win it again next year...I guarentee IT!" And then the ShowTime Lakers preceeded to win Back to Back NBA Championships in 87 and 88 . But yes Broadway Joe did say it first during a pre Super Bowl event.
Damien has a "bye". It was a joke.
Pat Riley. Who does Damien play? Joe Namath said "I guarantee it"
Max Preps has Carson winning this game, 26-19 I believe. They have Dominique Blackman back as their QB..I guess he got out of the pen. I guess based on Amats 2-weeks to prepare and with Wagner and Dominique Austin back Amat will be at full force.....Intresting game......I got Amat in a close one 24-21
Fred any word on former South Hills QB Willison. He transfered to St. Paul. I thought it was a poor decision on his part when Damien would have been the better fit on every level. South Hills to Santa Fe Springs? Wow! I've partied there in my youth and it never went well. A couple of years ago a kid/QB from St. Francis did the same thing and it was brutal. Huero didn't know what hit him, lol. Imagine Willison at Damien with that line and Perstusati at safety full time or on halfback or WR options reverses. Could have been special. What was his Dad thinking?
Damien will not lose this week. "I GUARENTEE IT!!!!"
Well I was 13-4 last week.
I lost my West Covina Upset, Workman (must be horrible), Los Altos, and CO/Damien tied.
This weeks pics coming later in the week. Need some more research on the OC schools. Interesting though, South Hills vs. Rancho. Should be a good one. Could boil down to coaching. Have to give the edge to Bogan. Do they have enough fire power though?
I was at last week's game, I just didn't cover it..Didn't you see me walking the sidelines...the little guy in the blue Bruins cap.
Man o man,if Glendora can beat El Do (CIF State Champs)that would be a great accomplishment for SGV. This will be the biggest game in SGV this week. Go Tartans!
Fred, are you going to miss another Tartan game?
I knew I shouldn't of made that pick before I talked to Layton. He said to call back during his lunch hour.
Fred You may lose the DR game they are going to have a long week. check the injury list..
