Wilson football coach Robert Oviedo resigned this week. We’ll have more in Thursday’s newspaper. Oviedo will remain a teacher at the school, but wanted to take a year off to spend more time with his family. Oviedo has two kids, and his wife Dr. Monica Oviedo is the principal at Santa Fe. It was a good season for the Wildcats, who beat Los Altos to recapture the “Wheel” for the first time in nine years, and they advanced to the CIF-SS Southwest Division quarterfinals. Oviedo was at Wilson for seven years, and finishes with an overall record of 34-41-1.
