Hate to tell you, but you better check Mayfair ranking... They were ranked somewhere at 300+ in the state.

LA was a much different team when you guys played them. If they had all there guys on the field that were injured, you guys lose BIG TIME

Maybe your boy should stick to track, because track is not football. He is very small and he doesn't run with any kind of strentgh or authority! We popped him like a little weak boy!

And quit using the excuse Miramonte is a tough league, we know that, but making an excuse why he didn't do his job in his own league is just plain stupid. Did Snowden performed in league and non league against better comp? Answer yes!

If you are going to be considered for an award, you must performance in the league in which you play. Wilson is in the playoffs ar DR expense and coin flip. How did Gilmore have anything to do what that. Answer Nothing!

As I looke at this list, may more impact players during league.

Wow, what a concept Fred, to have a performance award that rewards grades and performance on the field.

Last year's POY award, where is he now? Did the award earn him anything or teach him anything alot real life at the next level.

I think its a sad day when all the comparisions about this award comes up. The Tribune shouldn't put this up on a form because it just starts a War. All these players contributed to the success of their TEAM and season.

Bottom Line: Gilmore gets it done on both sides of the ball.. PERIOD.
He iced the win against LA with a huge pick (while still scoring 6 td's)
AND..
He locked up the game agaist Mayfair (strong team)with a pick.. AND A 95 TD RETURN!!! For all of you who are still stuck on the Bonita game in which he spained knee ligaments.. BE SILENT.
This kid is so good.. it's scary.
Is there a better player in the valley? The answer is most definately: NO.

Rivalry game you mentioned, Barbone played huge in the Smudgepot vs. Bonita...The game between Los Altos and Wilson, aka Havoc in The Heights made Gilmore a star...275 yards or so and 6 touchdowns...Rivalry games are huge and since you brought it up...Gilmore shined brighter in the "big" game too. Your a lame. Gilmore sprained his MCL in the first half of bonita. They weren't even done wit the 2nd quarter when he already had 122 yards on 14 carries. He would had 225 easy. Here's a good comparison on Nico Barbone and Tim Gilmore, for Uncle Bobby or whoever you Gilmore fans are....

Gilmore,as stated, lousy game (which Wilson lost 7 - 42 ),against a good Bonita defense team.

Barbone, great game (2 T.D., 167 yards, San Dimas won 27 -10)against a good Bonita defense (Saints average score is 33 points).

A 52 point difference.

I know we're comparing team to team, but it's makes more sense than anything I've seen, where there are just numbers being thrown around.

And yes, if your throwing GPA in the mix, Nico has a 3.5......hmmmmmmm.

I think we need to have more comparisons than facts which don't pertain to each other.

Think again poster(s) because if that is what you think of me....then you have no idea what I supported and represented throughout this year.

If by chance you recognized my past threads you would have realized exactly what I THINK about "lists and charts" that grade and categorize the performances of our SGV athletes.

To me, every kid that ever sacrificed the time and energy to wear their school colors in the form of a football uniform was considered GREAT in my book.

For this and more, they will remain the BEST in my eyes, as well as their coaches, parents, teammates, fans, friends, and family.

So, don't look for my vote on any Tribi-questionnaire because the outcome of that which is SO important to some on this website is NOT a concern of mine.

I think you all would agree that, the BEST athletes in SGV are the very same one's that you all love and support every Friday night. Maybe it is time everyone examines the community divide we create when choosing what has always been precious to us. Enough said.

FYI: Stay positive SGV and prove to those that are not part of our valley, why we have pride of origin.

my vote goes to cameron deen. a kid who fought all summer to be the starter, understood the fact that a senior was ahead of him, never complained, never quit fighting, and, never quit supporting his team. when he was asked to step in and be the man, he did it! 9-0 as a starter, the "it" guy, according to the fox sports west guys. and, a great manager on the field.
and for no other reason, he's running the most difficult offense in the sgv. anyone who knows coach bogan knows what i mean. the qb at shhs is asked to do more than any other school around here. its a college type offense deen's running, and, he's doing a great job of it!

#1 You have no idea and no clue that Wilson started 3 JV players on the offensive line for two weeks against CO and Bonita, if you want to talk about injuries...

#2 All around CO, DR, and Bonita are a bigger, better football team than Wilson and if it were not for Gilmore would be nowhere near where they are now....2 out of 3 of those teams that "stopped" Gilmore aren't even in the playoffs anymore...Snowden and the others from the above mentioned schools better be a good players with the teams they have around them, but who wouldnt be. Some of you morons might even have a shot to be better than you were when you sat the bench in high school on these teams.

#3 How can you vote for a player that got hurt in the first league game for player of the year...No matter how unfortunate it is, that is a part of the game and I dont think you can have a player of the year that only played half of the games as everyone else. RIDICULOUS to even talk about McBride for player of the year. Gilmore may have horrible stats against CO, DR, and Bonita, but at least he has stats.

Oh yeah, Never mind the fact that the Miramonte league is the toughest league in the Valley so for all of you outside the Miramonte, no chance!!

I love how PLAID LAD has come on here all year long talking about showing class, hard work and respect. I then see that his son Jake Vega has almost 1000 votes, he is good but not nearly at the same level as some of these other kids. Glendora shows their TRUE COLORS once again.

Hey FRED my son came home today and told me that both Ray Rodriguez and Bryce McBride both made fist team All League, any idea if there is any truth to this?....if so, thats awesome, says a lot about the coaches that make up the Miramonte League, CLASS ACTS.....hopefully these guys got a shot at the all area team, there is no doubt that they are prob the two best at here position.

Gilmore stats are horrible in his own league. Bonita, DR and CO stopped this guy cold. His only good game in league was LA and we all know the injuries suffered.

I'm on the team with GILMORE!
Believe me, I have never encountered another player with as much determination and heart as he has. He a a beast on the field. Anybody who has played against us knows it too. We're gonna shut down Trabuco Hills this Friday, and you what, He's gonna be the heart of our team again.

Vega as of 11/20 @ 8.30 pm is in the lead with 40% of the votes, this tells me Plaid Lad is sitting @ his computer and voting over and over and over and over and ove....you get the idea! a jose garay is a great kid he has been trough alot this year as nobody seems to remember he lost his offensive cordinator and the genius off coach urias but he fought througt it and at the end it all paid off with the best receiving core around and a desent line he has done some amasing stuff after cal will see what everybody says so lets go south and lets kick some cal a** lets go eagles and keep it up defence

Gilmore baby! His stats don't lie. Regardless of what league he is in, all he can do is give 110% each and every game. HE is the reason they made the playoffs, HE is the reason Mayfair is hanging up their pads. HE is #9 in rushing and #13 in receiving in the Southern Section. HE has 5 int's for 232 yds. HE has carried the ball 196 times and fumbled only 3 times and HE averages 249 yds ALL PURPOSE per game! HE is Bush-like! HE is in Round 2. HE is....hands down...the SAN GABRIEL VALLEY PLAYER OF THE YEAR!

Only other player that should be on the voting board is Chris Harris. But Mr. Harris did not get it done when it counted. 135 does not equal 212!

Mr. Snowden is quite talented. He sure has us CO fans convinced. I would say, though, that those Chargers are really playing good all around team ball and the coaches are on a rampage right now. It's hard to say what they are going to throw at you. They have many weapons and are far from being a "one man show".
