I’d have to pass on with you one this subject. Which is not something I usually do! I enjoy reading a post that will make people think. Also, thanks for allowing me to speak my mind!

Between me and my husband we've owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I've settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

I usually don't post in blogs but your blog forced me to, amazing work.. beautiful !

Hello Leaflore,Bon bah moi bien sur jai pas vote puisque je suis tjs ----.

If you're still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you'll know which is right for you.

I, for one, am proud of this LA team, being "in" every league game except the CO game, who I am now pullig for, without their most important impact players, who, most likely, would have made SOME SORT OF IMPACT, against Wilson, Bonita and DR.

If they had remained healthy, I see a number two in league and getting beat in the second round. Even healthy, I did not see a team that would be practicing on Thanksgiving without at least an average QB.

The faithful are still proud of our tradition, our history and our program. The volume of work produced by Gano and Despain is greater than 99% of programs in the state.

But,

My bad, seems like that kid has been there awhile already...I guess its gonna be up to the 'Mead and the South next year to battle it out for the MVL title 'cause I think Arroyo is done! but as always....

Its called having a better record than you, better defense and better offense in league and non-league which totals up OVERALL

This goes out to all Rosemead fans. I give propts to your line. They are good. They are the heart and soul of your team. Get this though, without them, you are a below average team.

The kids at online at South work hard. But they are not the strength of the team. If this was one of South's strengths, with all the weapons like Garay, Acosta, Padilla, Luna, Mendoza, and Cogburn....C'mon...seriously....South would compete if not beat any team in our division. Teams in MVL would not even be a factor, including Rosemead.

Where were the "War Panthers" when their line was so tired from getting punished by South's defense in the fourth quarter? South had a bad start, that is why they are not ranked. We knew that we were a good team, we were simply not clicking.

Now, we are, look out!

EAGLE20 said:

About South El Monte Football....simply "Don't Doubt The South!" Whatever team we play in the playoff better bring their A game or they will get sent home packing. Bottom line, enough talk, let the games begin. I will let the team's actions do the talking.

By the way, the first time South played Rosemead, they won, easily. The first time we played Arroyo, the result was the same. Sure, there have been some down years. Regardless, everyone knows that when they play South they better have a good week of practice, tighten up the screws on the helmet, and be prepared for a battle.

Now, if that is not tradition, I don't know what is!

I wish all the teams good luck tomorrow. Champions always prevail.

Be humble in your victories because when Rosemead went out in the first round, South was handed a beat down from SH 70-21 2 weeks later. I'm sure Rosemead didn't forget, neither should u.

Notes on Amat

To Person posting as anonymous

I have read a couple of his posts in which he keeps talking about the terrible crime surrounding the neighborhood of Bishop Amat. I have to say that if this guy can show me a place in Southern California that is 100 % free of crime, then I suppose that place, is where this person must currently live in. He certainly doesn’t live in the SGV after all, because the last time I looked, there was crime here.

Of course, to not like a school or a particular football program is anyone right of course, but to continuously bash the area as being a ghetto and where everyone has to live in fear every waking moment of one’s life, is way, way, to much don’t you think ?

I have heard this from him before and to tell you the truth, it seems funny. After all, if people were to only send their kids to play football or to gain a quality education in “nice area’s” then the people at USC would never be able to field a successful football program or attract students to their school based on the neighborhood in which they live in. hum…

Eagle 20,

Not sure, but I think the CIF polls ARE the result of votes from some coaches (or AD's maybe?). My problem is I don't think some of those coach's do their homework. As for rankings and head to head, not sure about SEM's full schedule strength compared the Rosemead and the other team, but you do have to take a team's full schedule and quality of wins & loses into account as well as head to head. In our division Los Osos is ranked ahead of Etiwanda, even though they lost to them, but they have one more win and their schedule is as good or maybe slightly tougher. I do still scratch my head at times, but it seems to me they are getting it more right as the season progressed.

I think someone should checkout McBride at LA to see if he did'nt come in to LA under the radar gunn. You know that LA coach has a reputation for sneaking kids into the school that have never lived in the area and maybe CIF should be aware of this. I'm sure there looking into it.

Where do you come up with stuff about every team. Sit back and think for a min.

1. What is the pay scale for BA vs Any Public School.

2. Whats the dif is medical.

3. Compare the retirement plans.

Gano is going to leave and go to BA with the amount of time he has vested in the public school system. Freeze his retirement for a private school retirement just so his daughter can play softball. Sure they can pay him 80 to 100K a year but I am sure he still comes up 60-70% short in total comps if he left.

I understand this is an opinion based blog but it would be nice if the words "well thought out opinions" were the norm not just I heard it from a friend opinion.

You seem to have every team in the valley wired and the trib should hire you.

I am not sure how CIF rankings are calculated. As always, CIF officials and their offices are completely worthless. They take 1/2 of the proceeds of a games, force teams to use specific equipment which is a clearly a monopoly(Wilson Footballs), and clearly have no idea on how to rank teams.

How in the world is Rosemead and Alhambra ranked over South El Monte when they beat them head to head. I guess that they clearly go by record. It is evident that I hate CIF and all that it stands for. Now, I would not normally complain about standings, however, it does make a difference in the playoffs. I just hate to see two good teams play each other early. Its kind of like seeing the Colts and the Patriots play each other in the playoffs. Someone has got to loose, but deep down you wish that they were playing each other in the super bowl.

I say, let CIF be run by a group of coaches. Not these over paid (what the hell they do is up to me) and evidently out of touch officials.

That is my say. In the end, if you are a good team, like South El Monte is, you will win.

FYI Mcbride isn't the only one injured. As a matter of fact I don't think he's da biggest loss on the team. If anything Ray Rodriguez was a biggger loss then Mcbride. LA had to change both its offensive and defensive schemes when #84 got hurt. If I remember correctly Jeff Martinez (#25) had a great game against Wilson to so running back wasn't the problem. Come on LA has 3 of its 4 captains out for the season as well as others who saw significant PT. I don't see what the problem was with what I said.....

"Get a life and start planning for next year"
Isn't that what Wilson should be doing? Your win against LA was the highlight of the last 5 years of Wilson football. Your season is over. After this rollercoaster season for Los Altos they still have a shot at a #2 seed in playoffs. Can Wilson say that??

As far as the Wilson/Los Altos Game being luck. How do you call a guy that runs a sub 4.4 in the 40 and scores 6 touchdowns against LA luck. In comparison, the Southwest Division has 1 team in the top 30 (El Dorado #28), 3 additional teams in the top 130 and 6 additional teams beyond.

Even when receivers are wide open -which is not often- the ball is usually; overthrown...wide left...wide right...too low...too high..behind receiver...tipped at line etc, etc.

Wait, wait there's more...

Or even worse, thrown directly to DB who promptly runs it back 95 yards for touchdown (Wilson game).

I'll take that one. Yes, Etiwanda beat Los Osos (not by much though) which is why they are currently in first in the Baseline. They play Upland this week (who lost to Los Osos), so win and they are the 5-0 champs. Lose and it's a 3-way tie for first. If you're wondering how Los Osos is "ahead" of Eti in CIF, Los O has been rated high all year and Etiwanda has not gotten the respect they deserve IMO. They lost a couple early (us, Chino Hills & Serrano) to teams that turned out to be pretty good, but that put them in a hole with CIF I guess. They've had a tough schedule...tougher than ours I'll admit. But Los Osos is a very good team. To - Glendora...to me, as well as others...you are our best and our pride...continue to work as a team...and continue to believe. Be the Best!

It's been a great year....thanks to all...see ya in the Sunday paper.

WOW, looking at the names (CIF competition)in the Inland and Southwest Divisions is pretty scary. Especially when considering our teams need to compete and advance.

Appears El Do will be the only difficult team in the Southwest division to beat.
