Well DR looks like your bark is worse than your bite. After a season of listening to all the false bravado from your coach about tough schedule, #1 team in the valley, and his we want BA next year you got your ass handed to you by a better team with better coaches.
Rowdy Roddy Piper could take a lesson from Lou about how to lead a team. Must have been frustrating to look at you play sheet and have nothing to call. Again 4 leagues, 5 AD's and problems with CIF, in less than 10 years, and beat 2 years in a row by a coach with 40 years of experience is a great tradition.
During the off season you have pleanty of time to reflect.
To the Charger players. Outstanding job tonight. Just keep quiet, head down and go to work as always you do your talking between the lines on game night.

NO ONE agrees with you BP Fan! NOOOOO ONE! I admire and respect your passion for supporting the program, but throwing out racist accusations and claiming that members of the lower level coaching staff are claiming to "put the hurt" to anyone is outlandish! C'mon man, i am not trying to shut you up or anything like that, all I ask is that you go about supporting the program in a tasteful manner. I know how our program is perceived (by some, not all... reference 1991 2nd round HOME playoff game awarded us against Glendora but for whatever reasons ((inferrences allowed here)) the game was moved to West Covina HS) given the demographics of the area and when you come on here talking nonsense you are just bolstering other's perceptions. I grew up in the neighborhood, went to the school, played on the team so I know what is thought of us. Just please be a little more selective as to what you say on here. Again, I admire and respect your passion. Thanks!
P.S. Good luck to all players and coaches. Again Braves, play hard, play smart, play together and be gracious in victory or defeat!

Fred I am asking you as someone close to the BP program, please ban BP FAN...He spews nothing, but nonsense and hate. We at BP share none of the same ideas or feelings. We have attempted to go through this year with as much class and dignity as possible. All BP Fan is doing is giving Northview bulletin board material. Please do the blog a favor and ban him. To all Northview players and fans, I can assure you no one is taking you lightly and tomorrow's game should be great. On behalf of all BP supporters we are sorry for this person's comments!

Rumor has it, Coach Pasqy will have a MOHAWK haircut given to him by the Tartan team during 6th period tomorrow if the Tartans beat Diamond Bar tonight wraping up the Sierra League.
I guess the coach will be breaking out those funky looking summer hats of his.

Eye from...
Damien as the # 3 would play a #1 team and I'm betting it won't be from the Baseline league. You're likelyto get Corona-Cent, Redlands EV or Vista Murrieta. Good luck with that! Seriously though, good luck tonight. A lot of your boys/coaches are friends with our boys and parents. I think you guys can pull it off, but it will be a battle. Our guys need to stay focused tonight on going 5-0 in league. That would be a real accomplishment and keep the "Mo" goin.
Posted by: Tommy Tartan | November 8, 2007 11:48 AM
Eyeball,
You asked - If Damien beats Chino Hills who will they get in the first round? Ettiwanda or Los Osos? I don't get this play-off picture.
CIF is unpredictable, but my guess would be that Damien would draw the 2 or three seeded team which is currently Vista Murrieta or REV according to the most recent CIF poll. I would guess #2 Vista Murrieta, as #1 seed CC will probably get Yucaipa. Damien might match up well with VM, so that is not necessarily bad news, but VM is very good.
Posted by: AHSFBfan | November 8, 2007 11:48 AM
Eye baller,
They will be "seeded" 1 thru 16, then the playoff trees will be filled out on Sunday. We can't know for sure right which #1 will play which #3, in any bracket. CIF, in their infinite wisdom, has all the mysterious answers locked in a box way down int he basement! Can't hardly wait till then!

And SGT Carter, first you throw our kids out of your school when we showed up against Pomona, now you want to throw me out for being a fan, or is it because we're Mexican? Seems really racist to me. Anyone out here agree with me?

Posted by: BP FAN | November 8, 2007 9:56 AM
DR did NOT drive on the field..They sat in their truck, watched practice for about 30 min and then started yelling and waving their helmets.Say what you want we all know these are "boys", my point is why were these few players allowed to miss practice, these will be the same ones tonight that are playing, and not on the sidelines.Yes a few of CO players know one of the boys, so they know who it was.DR can say all they want win or lose CO is league champs AGAIN, I wish Lou would sit all starters and save them for CIF,espically with all the LATE hits DR has been called for. We don't want any of our players to get hurt before we win CIF

Here's a sobering thought for Baldwin Park...
The San Dimas Saints will graduate 5 impact seniors this year. All but one offensive lineman will return. All members of the offensive backfield (Barbone, Joseph, Brown, and Kalmar) will be returning. They will only be loosing Bronze Witham, Cory Geer, Drew Anis, Kevin Paulson (out injured anyway), and Chris Pace. Any other seniors that will be lost are non-impact players. On top of that, one of their bigger lineman (Kyle Salm) who has been injured this year, should be ready to go next year. That will give them an even better offensive line than they have now, and the line they have now has been fantastic. So, Baldwin Park and all other comers, those steps you hear are the sound of inevidability. They Saints have done a great job this year, but trust me, they will be unstopable next year. Their line (both offensive and defensive) will be solid and fast. Not just a bunch of tall fat-boys that plug holes. They will be able to run down plays and bring the defense to the ball rather than hope the ball runs into the strength of the defense the way Baldwin Park works. Baldwin Park has had a great season. They beat the Saints fair and square and I tip my hat to a well coached game. But their 6 point win this year will likely be a 21 point loss next year. So, enjoy it while you can, because the Saints are marching in! Rock on Saints!

Anon. @ 8:24 Your arrogance is outrageous. CO's rival is LA not DR. The panthers are new to the Miramonte League. I would not call their 1 game history a rivalry. But if thats what they need to get motivated, whatever. CO is in! (league Champs 3 years in a row!) DR continues to upstage only themselves.
Good Luck to all this week!

I am sure that if someone drove a truck on a field while children were still practicing someone would have gotten arrested. Do you people really believe all the bogus stories these CO fans put on this blog. My God!!!!Someone drove by and shouted at us and my feelings are hurt..wa.wa.wa.You are a joke.Back in the day this was a daily occurance with rival schools. So they shouted, so they held their helmets out the window,so so so..Maybe they should have showed you the BIRD. Get over it. All this crying makes me sick. Man up!!!What next?"they looked at me wrong coach."

Posted by: Lucky | November 8, 2007 8:17 AM
i agree, there has always been pranks. but is it true that they did not only drive to CO but they drove on the field while the students were still on it? it that true or is someone just making it more than what it was?
Posted by: Anonymous | November 8, 2007 8:02 AM
If it's true that DR did drive over to CO and shouted and hung a helmet out of the door...So What!
Back in my playing days we did a lot worse crap then that. I see nothing wrong with a little motivation from the DR players/fans. Have we gotten so old that we blow a gasket for some teenage pranks. This is a big game and after all these are still children.

Bonita advanced with a 25-12, 25-20, 19-25, 25-23 first-round victory over Maranatha, while San Dimas needed four games to dispose of South El Monte, 23-25, 25-13, 25-12, 25-16.
As I count it, it took Bonita four games to advance also. Hopefully Fred will leave his favortism at home tonight when he does his job.

I would like to take this moment to wish the “Glendora Tartans” the best of luck in their final game and into the playoffs.
I personally am glad to see this group of “Seniors” be rewarded for their hard work and determination over the years of playing together. I have watched from a far but keep a
close eye on your team success. Regardless if you win or lose from here on out, you guys accomplished a lot thru the years!
I would like to take you down memory lane. The parents will probably feel the emotion a little more than you tuff guys, but someday deep down inside, you’ll feel it also.
Okay, remember where it started? Glendora HS JAA days, Coach Ron, Coach Ken, Coach Henry and many I forgot because I missed my Ginkgo today!
Wow, are you laughing yet, these guys wouldn’t want to lose a game to nobody and Henry went wacko if we allowed the opponent to score being up by 50!
Then on to the “PIT”… What a joy that was in the 100 degree heat with these guys in your face everyday!
Do you remember Coach Henry famous speech at half time being down to Azusa “Don’t feel sorry for yourselves, you did to yourselves, now what are you going to do about it” Did he inspire you or what? Then, you guys proceeded to win the game.. Great learning experience from a wise coach!
Then your HS days which brings you guys to today, this week, this month! A great journey for a bunch of great kids!
To all the parents, give yourself a BIG pad on the back. You have given them a support system to do what they love and that’s the best reward you could ask for! Enjoy the time and live the memories.

That last game is going to hit you and your son very hard....
Last year after losing our CIF game my son's emotions just took over knowing that it was his last HS game. It was quite an emotional event for the both of us! Wouldn't change it for the world.
Having time to reflect, it was an enjoyable time thru the years of JAA and HS. Watching my kid grow into a young man and hoping for the best is all we can do as parents.
He has moved on to College but its not the same. Bigger and not as personal as those days.
Good luck and enjoy the memories! TAKE IT ALL IN! You will remember it for a long time

I heard the same rumor today at school that Shelton's paperwork again was never submitted to C.I.F. and he has been playing illegally for us the entire football season. Somebody told me that if you go on C.I.F.'s website there isn't even any reference of him since he left for Montclair and came back. He wasn't approved until November of 2006 and cleared to play at Montclair at that time (which means he played illegally at Montclair last year) but no paperwork has ever been submitted to C.I.F. since he came back to our school. If he plays tomorrow night again we would have to forfeit the game! What are we going to do administration? Do the right thing..!

Nice to see you rooting for my Tartans! Thanks! Though I still worry about CIF. These Inland teams are so well coached. I still have nightmares of last years Redlands game. Kind of reminds me of El Do x10!!
Hopefully we will get a Temmescal Canyon or someone like that. Not that T. Canyon would be a cake walk. Every game will be the greatest battle for us. Thats how it goes.
I told my boy, hey dude, tomorrow is your last Sierra League game forever and these next few games, emphassis on gameSSS, will be your last games with your teammates as a Tartan. What does that mean to you, I asked him? Well dad, he said, are you going to start weeping again? God's honest truth!

I didn't, however see alot of or any "chest pounding/predictions" from Tartan bloggers on this thread re this game. Of course, Fred/Steve made their "predictions". In speaking with several Tartans (including my son), they are respectful of DB and know first hand how unpredictable any and all games are.
I'm really looking forward to a good game with no injuries! Lots of good mathups this Thursday. Glad Glendora isn't the only team which has to suffer still another Thursday game. It really wipes out the kids and parents!

New League was just joking of course, so please don't take a statement like that and believe it to be gospel.

Exactly right, Plaid Lad. D.B. has not thrown in the towel and they are scoring alot of points. They have a new coach who has improved their team. No doubt it should be a win... Just wait until the end of the 4th quarter to call it...

First of all John Daily or who ever the hell you are. I was not calling out the Damien community,I was trying make a point about people like you have nothing better to but to call out coaches and start rumors about how they are going to get fired. You are probably one of those alumnist that goes to the 5th quater social and complains about how you can do a better job in coaching the kids.

To all GHS fans and supporters;
Everyone needs to get a grip on the present situation regarding our game tomorrow at Diamond Bar. You blog-exchange with each other like we have accomplished something. We still have one last game and if anyone on this site thinks the Brahma's are going to go down easy....think again. Any wonder our kids can't stay FOCUSED? We should be tossing out words of commitment and stride... not trashing this gray-space with those that make no sense and offer little encouragement. You want something to think about....well, we haven't been League Champs since 1993. Tomorrows game is ours to take or give away. Which would you prefer?

Miramonte League Fans,
The best thing that can happen for the future respect of the Miramonte League is to be represented in the CIF playoffs by the three best teams in the league. That may or may not happen this weekend.
Regardless of the outcome of this weekends games Charter Oak will be the number one team representing the league.
Los Altos has a tradition of being very competetive, however, if Bonita beats Los Altos Friday night then Bonita will have earned their place as the number 2 team in the league based on their record which includes the forfiet win from Diamond Ranch. On the field that would make Bonita the number three team on the field since they lost to Diamond Ranch. If Los Altos wins then it's literally at toss up. A coin toss that is.
The real issue is who is the other team that will represent the league. Will it be Diamond Ranch, Los Altos or Wilson.
We know the two best teams on the feild are Charter Oak and Diamond Ranch. The number three team will be determined between Los Altos and Bonita Friday night. Unfortunatly only Charter Oak is guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. Diamond Ranch must beat Charter Oak Thursday night to have chance of getting into the playoffs.
This brings me to my delema. I am a league fan and a team in the league receiving a high seed would be great, and Charter Oak is the team that has that possiblity. For that to happen CO needs to beat Diamond Ranch, which means for Diamond Ranch to have a chance Bonita must beat Los Altos so DR can be included in a three way coin toss for thrid place.
If Diamond Ranch and Bonita both win it will all be settled. CO #1 Bonita #2 and DR #3. Thats the order of representation even though on the field would be DR #1 CO #2 and Bonita #3.
Go Get em Miramonte League!

We all need to be opened minded about the steroid or HGH issue. In order to be competitive, especially in football, one may have to use it, or sit the bench. All of USC is on HGH. I guess it's more politically correct to say HGH since you're not using the word, Steroid....

Anon,
They can face each other in nonleague games; they just can't be in the same league because Bishop Amat and the members of the Sierra League are under the control of two different governing bodies. That's why Diamond Bar can never be in a league that includes Brea Olinda, although they are about 15 minutes away from each other.
Posted by: sramirez | November 7, 2007 2:25 PM
I hope you are not comparing two guys who were convicted of violent, criminal acts with a guy who was using stuff that was not against the laws of baseball at the time?
If you are, you need to get your priorities in order
Posted by: sramirez | November 7, 2007 2:21 PM
I dont think that is true. We have already scheduled a non-league game with Bishop Amat next year. And we are in the Sierra League. It's not a bad idea. I think anyone in the Sierra League can go toe-to-toe with B.A. except for Chino.
Posted by: Anonymous | November 7, 2007 2:18 PM
I don't think either the L.A. Archdiocese or the Mt. SAC District heads would like that...remember you are dealing with separate enities who form the respective leagues...Bishop Amat is under the L.A. Archdiocese, while those other schools are part of the Mt. SAC District

In light of Baldwin Park dedicating their season to Lawernce Phillips Damien has decide to dedicate their season to two former Spartan greats.
Football to Darryl Henley serving life in prison for everything under the sun!
Baseball to Mark Mcqwire serving life of shame for steriod abuse!
I thought those 300 Spartans looked kind of buffed!

Glendora

Chino Hills

Play hard, play together and play with class Braves. Yeah, we may be undersized and a bit slower than most teams we play, but there is no measure for heart and desire.
Coyote 62, anyone can beat anyone on any given night. That is why we line up on Thursday and Friday nights. Doesn't really matter what league is represented.
As far as dedicating the season to Lawrence Phillips, that, in my opinion, is a little odd. Yes, Lawrence was a Brave, made us proud, but has since went on to make some decisions that have haunted him to this day.
Good luck to all teams this weekend.

Anonymous,
You have some nerve calling out the Spartan community. You boast more than a proud peecock (remove Pee) As for your anonymous name, what's the deal, we all know my name is John Daley class of '86, who the hell are you? Seems pretty funny for a guy with so many opinions yet very little heart.

Got to hand to the Damien fans, they are cocky even when they have a losing season!
Posted by: Anonymous | November 7, 2007 12:48 PM
Its funny you people on these blogs, act like a bunch of teenage girls in high school, with all these rumors going around. You people do not know what your talking about Morrison leaving he will not and will remain the head coach, first of all even though allumni has a big impact on the damien community they do not have enough power to remove Morrison. This same rumor was going around last year too so its obviously not going to happen. So all you people just stop acting like a bunch teenage girls.

UPDATE!!!
Just got off the phone with the Damien A.D. about some alumni news. I thought it was interesting that he mentioned how much support he had been given for Morrison. Didn't seem that positive himself. Morrison is done. I wish the school would just announce it now rather than let these kids feel abondoned later.

I just want to say good luck to everyone tomorrow and friday night. I hope everyone stays healthy for the playoffs.

Harsh talk from a Damien fan. I guess he forgot that Damien was totally man-handled by Glendora. I do agree with him somewhat, but I will not go as far to say "Wanne be's of the hills." If Glendora strengthened their pass protection and moved a little bit better laterally, they would be extremely hard to defeat. I am not even a Glendora fan, but you have to give them respect, especially on sportsmanship.
Posted by: Anonymous | November 7, 2007 11:17 AM
Spartan Killer,
You can be envious of the the true class of our league, but honestly it will get you nowhere. Glendora will never be more than wanna be's of the hills. Think about your traditions that coach P brought over. Tartan walk? What a joke. Damien. Tartan Hall? Joke...Damien. For not being a "Damien Guy" he sure stole many of the traditions.

Yes BP had a legit program in the 80's. Johnson and Torrez were a tough combo. Charter Oak was tough in 86' when Royal Oak and CO combined. San Dimas always had a good program. Azusa and Gladstone were pretty equel. Bassett and Sierra Vista didn't measure up. I don't think any school would be proud of LP. Let those days gooooo!
Posted by: Anonymous | November 7, 2007 10:11 AM
BP has to show up... Northview is a much better passing team then San Dimas, and BP hasn't matched up nearly as well against passing teams as they have running teams (SD). Their squeeking win over SD won't get it done against NV. I think BP has done a great job in league thus far and they should be very proud of themselves, but they are big and slow and big and slow rarely beats fast... Speed never has a slump! Rock on Saints...
Posted by: Saint Fan | November 7, 2007 10:10 AM
BP. BP. BP.....LETS NOT OVER DO IT. GOOD TEAM CONGRAT ON YOUR VICTORIES, BUT MISSION VALLEY LEAGUE EL MONTE LIONS KICKED YOUR BUTTS........ ROSEMEAD, SOUTH EL MONTE COULD DO THE SAME.. GOOD LUCK.

Memories, the old Montview League had great memories and being a Charter Oak parent I remember the great passing teams fromBaldwin Pk. Not LP.

Great idea, yeah lets dedicate the season to some thug wanna be gangster inmate. Great role model. But, what should I expect coming from B.P., the parole capital of California. Better yet, why don't we round up all those stray pit bulls roaming your streets and send them as a care package to M. Vick. I hear he is in dire need of pit bulls...Give me a break..

I think you want to remember Lawrence Phillips as a person of Crime that was a football player. I dont think you want to remember Lawrence Phillips as on of Baldwin Parks Icons.

For those of you who didnt know anything about BP football. It was not Lawrance Phillips who put BP on the map. BP had some really good football teams before he got there. Back in 85? they played for a CIF championship and won league(montview) year after year. Montview league in the 80s consisted of:
Baldwin Park
San Dimas
Charter Oak
Royal Oak
Sierra Vista
Bassett
Gladstone
Azusa

TO WHOMEVER SAID L.P. PUT BALDWIN PARK ON THE MAP.
THAT IS A IGNORANT STATEMENT, GO BACK TO THE LATE 70'S ALL THE WAY TO THE EARLY 90'S AND CHECK WHO HAD THE 2ND HIGHEST WINNING PERCENTAGE BEHIND ATASCADERO IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.. THATS RIGHT BALDWIN PARK.. WE HAD SOME DAMN GOOD FOOTBALL TEAMS IN THOSE TIMES BEHING COACH PAGONE AND COACH ZANE. CHECK YOUR FACTS BEFORE YOU MAKE SUCH STAEMENTS!!!!
GO BARVES !!!!
