whole lotta CHONK...ugh
oh wait...ROBERT GILPIN resurrected???
It's hilarious to see everyone responding to this scumbag Bill. Don't let him rile up your feathers, he's obviously getting a big boner out of it. Probably an old dirty man... a child predator, pedophile luring underaged boys and girls on the other websites.

LP Alum,
Seriously you need to get a sense of humor. All of the schools in the league are in bad neighborhoods which is why I made the comment. I had no idea an ex LP player was going to go all sensitive on me. Look at the post belowmine from that donkey to catch a predator. Now you see why I make fun of this league and the people in it!!

Bill,
Correction: There is nothing wrong with the spelling I provided on my comment. It should have read: "Little to no attention" but instead read: "Little to not attention." I'm no English aficionado like yourself but I don't see a spelling error here, just merely a typo.
I'd love to volunteer on your show but I don't know if I would fit in to your show's criteria. Instead of hosting, YOU should be your own special guest on "Making myself feel better by bashing on others' accomplishments."
I hope you continue to have fun, but leave others out of it. Referring the Montview League as "the Hood League" speaks volumes of your character. Enjoy your show....

LP Alum
It appears that both of you may have experienced little to not attention and affection in years past
Little to not attention? It looks like you went to La Puente with that type of spelling. I don't come on here to bash people's accomplishments but merely to provide a voice of reason and another opinion to the babbling's of most like you on here. I like to have a little fun because I know so many people actually take these blogs seriously which is their biggest mistake.
By the way you made a point about stop giving us attention infact isn't that what you are doing by commenting on the comments we make? I don't crave attention but I do enjoy this blog and some of the people like you who like to try and play Dr Phil. By the way does La Puente still have a football team? Ha Ha Merry Christmas to you!
P.S. I am going to be starting a springer type show and I need a local guest. Care to volunteer?

To Bill and David,
It appears that both of you may have experienced little to not attention and affection in years past, which seem to have resulted in your motivation to come into these blogs, intentionally insult others' accomplishments, and continue to provide insults at others' expense. Don't worry everyone. As soon as we stop giving these guys the attention they so crave, they'll eventually go away.
You guys should consider taking over for Jerry Springer some day. It might suit your personalities.
Finally, since you "talk" a great game, my guess is that you both must have had flourishing high school football careers. Maybe it was a good pop-warner career. Regardless, let these boys enjoy their moment. They have earned it.

My guess is that you attended one of these high schools, so why the talking crap?

I dont think he is going to Los Altos, or transfer at all. Come on they went 4-6. If I was him i would rather transfer to South Hill or Diamond Ranch.

ARE YOU KIDDING !?!?!?
PAY UP !?!?!?!
Ask ANY coach in the Valley how much $$$ they make .
WHAT A JOKE ! Do it for the love of the game .If you are looking for $$$ in coaching HS Football , you chose the WRONG JOB ! The last time I coached I received a stpend of something like $2200.00 and I am SURE it has not gone up to much since 98' . If you want a bonus ...win some playoff games , you might make a few hundred more .
WHAT A JOKE !!!

Congratulations Steven Arceo;Voted MVP of the team, named first team offense, first team defense in the Montview League, for AZUSA.
Also you were the leading QB SACKER of the league, not bad for only being a ~ JUNIOR~.
Good luck next year!

These "State Championships" are a great idea, but the team selection is screwy. I know that it is based on school enrollment, but having St. Bonny play in the "small school" division is a joke. Those guys just beat Hart the week before. Last year Canyon Country (from the same division) played De La Salle in the D-1 Bowl. At least Oaks Christian actually plays in a small school division (not that it should). CIF really needs some consistency.

Do you by any chance have the second team

Posted by: joe | December 16, 2007 5:38 PM
de la salle always find a way to win.... didnt they recently have a 153-some odd game winning streak broken?
to go undefeated for 10 years straight is a feat in itself i think
Posted by: THEHenry | December 16, 2007 1:30 PM
Anyone watched the De La Salle and Centennial game? One thing I observed is that sheer size and speed will always be beaten by pure heart, discipline, execution and superior coaching. Bass wash shut down by the smaller Spartans. Great example of a great High School football team and great coaching staff.
The Spartan team reminded me of the way Amat played in its glory days.
Posted by: LancerManiac | December 16, 2007 1:05 PM
Plaiddy,
The amat enrollment has remained steady for years (and actually risen slightly from around 1400 in the '80s). It's not really a function of enrollment.
It is not that long ago that we "competed" with the top teams, while it has been a while since we seriously challenged for a CIF title. The talent pool is still available to compete and, IMO, it is the coach that gets a program over the hump to the highest level...not the other way around. I'm not convinced that a move down is necessary as much as some other moves. Why "lower" expectations, rather than doing what is necessary to live up to present ones. Using the example of St Paul if we search back to the beginning of their decline there is something that we eerily have in common - their former principal is now our president. He drove them into the ground and has done his damage at amat. The rise back to the top begins with his departure.
Adjusting divisions is not that simple either. First, the whole league is put into a division. So they ALL must fit into the playoff structure. Second, If amat moves OUT of the Serra, who moves in? Whoever does will be in the same boat. There is no one private school that is really overachieving in a lower division. Maybe Oaks Christian gets re-assigned into the Private Parochial sector and can get into the mix with the schools in the SFV. The problem was addressed when Damien was moved out of the "Mt San Antonio Area"
but that is where the next problem begins. Damien refused to be moved out and threatened suit (stemming from a water polo parent, I believe) That created the numbers game that, ultimately, ousted amat and loyola from the OC based Trinity League, which created the need for amat to move down in baseball - again, you can't force an ENTIRE league to move *up* because of amats baseball success. Someone made the great suggestion that has been bantered around for a while, of a league with amat, Damien, St Paul, and St Francis. Wouldn't be bad - and you could even throw St John Bosco in if you wanted and it would remain pretty local.
With Damien and Oaks in the mix, at least some geographic problems could be solved.
amat is in the "Parochial Area"

I can never understand how people have the football schedule for next year so soon.
Still, if this is true, then South Hills may have bit off a bit more than they can chew taking on Canyon and Notre Dame in the same year.
BTW, Bishop Amat should be the a better over all team than what we have seen in the last two years, so it will be very interesting to see how it all plays out. I just hope this is on the level.

Joe Amat
Joe, this is part the process that I've never understood. How is it that other private schools have re-evaluated there own positions within there contracted leagues and Amat remains loyal toward theirs? Based on your current enrollment would it not benefit your program to reconsider a different division then the one you compete in at this time?

Posted by: PLAID LAD | December 15, 2007 6:25 PM
PLAID LAD,
I'm not sure what question that you were asking regarding amat's student population. If you were talking about enrollment, the only schools with enrollments *lower* than amat's 1503 are:
San Dimas 1362
Workman 1306
Bassett 1422
Western Christian 487
All other schools in the Tribune area have higher enrollment totals according to CBEDs of a year ago (which are used by CIF to determine fall sports playoff groupings in sports like Girl's Volleyball and was released in Oct), with the highest being
Diamond Bar 3257
Walnut 2827
West Covina 2878
Glendora 2721
This years enrollment numbers have been recently submitted and will be available before the basketball playoffs.

Congratulations Warriors on a great season. Each and every one of you deserved this recognition.
Regarding: "Workman should of at least been given one first-team nominee."
Fred, I understand the concept of equity, but I thought these things were earned and not "given." I don't remember any Warrior football players earning 1st Team last year, but then again, we didn't win the league last year.
As far as other players getting "snubbed," I'm sure many of these other young men had great careers, but the League MVP awards go to the best player during that particular season, right?
Congrats Warriors! You earned this...

Posted by: PLAID LAD | December 15, 2007 8:24 AM
Congratulations Warriors! You have made our school extremely proud. You have far exceeded all expectations and this is what being a Warrior is all about. Now, if we can start to keep more of athletes from leaving to other schools we will accomplish a whole lot more. The problem is that there are still many ill conceived and outdated stereotypes that exist regarding LPHS. This is no longer your father's LPHS. We have committed coaches who are increasing the success of our athletic programs. For example, our boy's soccer team had a good week and defeated Wilson HS (3-0) and Bishop Amat (2-0). One of our boys was the league MVP for water polo. In addition to this, we have a larger number of seniors being accepted into four year universities every single year. Believe me, there is no need to go to Wilson or Los Altos high schools. GO WARRIOS!!
