Dominated huh, did you actually see the game? 13-12 sounds like real domination, it was two good teams going at it just like El Do vs. South Hills and forgive me but I thought the obeject of playing football was to win the game. The only thing that matters is the final score.

I was dying during this game and the game against South Hills until the last 3- 4 minutes of both games. When we did what we needed to do to win the game. Champion sounds much better to me than dominator.

trabuco hills dominated that game they looked like the better team...the fact they couldnt convert 2 pat's and couldnt finish when it mattered the most makes them a loser just like the other 30 somethin teams in the southwest...

Why do you BP guys keep throwing race into the mix? I think it takes away from what your team has done. And SD does not care about whether or not a hispanic, white, or black team is ahead of them, some people just want what is deserved. So BP people, please stop making this a race issue. Like I said before, half of SD's coaching staff is hispanic.

I am not an Amat fan but do you actually beleive that DR and SEM could play with a team like Bishop. Not Likely, and DR should not be in the rankings you do not reward cheaters. and if SEM played the Bulldogs, west covina would crush them, but hey you are a SH homer . what do you know.

Getting more yards does not equate to outplaying the other team. El DO blocked 2 PAT's and went 80 yards in 2 minutes to win the game. After TH scored the go ahead TD and then we blocked the PAT I turned to my buddy and said "just like last week" Give the props to Kane Wilson for winning the game on the last drive just like he did tying the game against South Hills.

El Do is Back-to-back CIF Champions looking forward to loading up again and trying for a Three-peat. I know the boys look forward to meeting up with Glendora and the top Southwest teams again next year.

I like this little rivalry that's brewing here between the SGV and OC tell the kids at Glendora, CO and South Hills we'll see em next year.

I especially like you now criticizing my children besides Coach Farrar and myself. I am certain our principal Mrs. Wiard really appreciates and respects you being on the blog conducting yourself in such a professional manner.

Honestly, consider just for a moment some of the decisions you have made in the last hour. You chose to go onto the San Gabriel Valley Tribune Fred Robledo Talk Prep Sports Blog and be malicious towards a local legendary high school football coach and really just a decent man and a humanitarian to his family and his football family and then after I defend a man that professionally and personally I am very fond (he was also two of my children’s Psychology teacher) you choose instead to go after me and insinuate my children may be as dumb as I am in writing.

You really think anyone believes you are a teacher and if so how unprofessional on your part and to think my son and daughter may have you for a teacher. I truly wish you typed your name so I could make certain when my next child next year goes to high school we could avoid your class.

For someone like Big Lou that is retired I am almost certain he probably only goes to his coach's office, practice field, and to the stadium. I know when I have done business with him in the past I have never seen him wandering around campus but instead he is always either in his office or the weight room. Fredj your Super 31 is questionable. Okay, I see SH @ the 1 spot (agreed). I don't agree that CO is is your #2. Better selection would be Glendora @ the 2 spot based on wins over tougher opponents. The argument would still remain as CO beat Dora this year...we know blah..blah...blah. Regardless, CO is definitely a solid #3 spot. DR @ 4? makes no sense when there are other SGV teams that would have tooled them up during the regular season. I'd move Damien to the #4 spot, again based on there scheduling. #5 is tough because there are three number five teams. For instance SEL, SD and WCO would all make a good fit for the #5 spot. If I was to pick between the three I'd have to give it to SEL and again that is due to a competitive edge (slight) with SD on there coat tails in the #6 spot. WCO I feel would best be suited for the #7 spot and again based on what they produced over the stretch of the entire season. BP would be bumped down to the #8 spot due to there losses verses wins. #9 would be Duarte. Although they finished with a 8-3 season they clouded thoughts when they failed to back up bragging rights. Based on that they should be fortunate that I would even put them in the top ten of my rankings. As painful as this sounds BA would move up to the #10 spot from your (Fredj) #12 spot. No doubt JA probably swallowed a peach seed over his Lancers being rated so low in the SGV. Truth be told, although BA did not mirror the records of many teams rated above them, I'm pretty confident that they would have beat (and or given) most of the 1 to 9 teams a run for there money.

Please Fredj don't elect Farrar as Coach of the Year. Several that teach (including me) at CO could not stand to watch Lou walk around campus like he owned the place for another year over that silly title.

I agree with you that Charter Oak's game is very frustrating because we should be playing but instead am watching tonight and the could of, should of, would of, what if hasn't stopped haunting me the entire day. A dropped long pass 1st possession, a punt return called back 3rd possession, or touchdown called back 5th possession, missed tackles for touchdowns in at least 2 possessions and another long pass dropped for a touchdown at the end of the 3rd quarter is very frustrating. No excuses but a dry field and a different sideline official makes for an interesting game but regardless they won we lost and I have to say I really wish at least South Hills would of at least won on their field goal at the end. Someone(s) were supposed to be playing tonight and instead no one in the S.G.V. is competing for a C.I.F. Championship. Who's your early favorite for next year?

Dude, I know you love your program and you should, Big Lou's a great guy and Glendora's Coach P is a good guy too!

But, if you look at Cal Preps and MaxP Glendora is ranked above CO. Now that being said, you did beat Glendora this year nad last year they beat you, so even baby at 1-1. Leave it at that and move on.

I could use more facts, but it really doesn't matter now! Start working hard for next season!

Look at the rankings, they're #606.

Remember Fred has a top 31 based upon his beliefs and MaxPreps and Cal Preps have computer programs that roll up the numbers based on more factors!

You choose, but Hispanics, Blacks, Whites, and all other races have nothing to do with it.

As much as there is accuracy in these rankings, there is one spot that is not deserved, and yes it is Diamond Ranch. Sure they are a good team, but they forfeited those games for doing something illegal, and it doesn't look as that affected their rank and if that's how rankings are in the future, that really is a sad way to go.

Oh wait that's hockey but then again if we had hockey here in Southern California Corona Centennial would probably beat you in hockey too. Thinking back, BP was knocked out of the top 10 after they lost to Northview in the last game of the regular season. Then they lose to an average Compton Centennial, and they move up in the rankings four or five spots to #7??? San Dimas was #4 or #5 before playing a great Oaks Christian team in which they did score more points then anyone thought they would, and they drop to #8. Not very consistent Robledo!!!

FRED IS IT TRUE THAT WEST COVINA IS PLAYING AMAT NEXT YEAR.. THIS WILL BE COOL. NEXT YEARS SCHEDUAL FOR WEST COVINA SHOULD BE A GOOD ONE AGAIN BECAUSE THEY GOT LOS ALTOS AND GLENDORA AND DIMOND BAR AND I KNOW HE IS GOING TO GET A GAME WITH AN ORANGE COUNTY TEAM AGAIN. GOOD LUCK BULLDOGS..

GLENDORA is better than CHARTER OAK.
More class, more heart and just a better football program all together. That Mayor's Trophy game was marred by controversey - dirty hits and trick plays. Charter Oak should be ashamed of itself.

TARTANS would beat CHARGERS if they played again easily later in the season.

That's right, and btw they almost lost to Rowland (ranked 21), Azusa (ranked 25), and did lose to El Monte (ranked 22). Fred- think about what San Dimas would have done to those teams this year. Looking it over, SD Loyal is correct. San Dimas beat 3 of the top 15 teams, Baldwin Park beat 1 team in the top 15. Not to mention lost to a 22nd ranked El Monte team, and went to overtime with Azusa. Be man enough to admit the mistake, and fix it!! No getting around the truth.

Final thoughts on SD, and BP. San Dimas should be ranked ahead of BP and South El Monte. SD choked against BP, BP choked against Northview, and Northview .... well Northview just blows. I wish SD would have won the coin flip, the would have hammered Compton, and might have made it to the semis.

Northview supporters, you don't get respect cause you don't give it. Your team is undisciplined and a joke. They complain every time something doesn't go their way. Cussing out coach Thomas in front of the ref isn't smart. Wait, that's right, it's Northview, they don't teach smarts over there. The new coach is quality but he needs to teach character 1st.

Would love to see SD/West Covina match up and SD/BP rematch. Well that will have to wait till next year.

Are you kidding me? Why did San Dimas drop to #8? They lost to Oaks Freaking Christian, as would anyone in this valley. Shouldn't be penalized that much. Anyone who watches football knows that the Saints would have beaten Compton Centennial, and BP could not. Hope you're not going to say, "Well BP beat you." Well, we beat South El Monte. You saw both BP and SD a few times, honestly who is the better team? I mean USC lost to UCLA last year, did that mean UCLA was a better team that season? Come on, use some common sense. Nice work on Football this year, it's a tough job. I do disagree with still having the Tartans #3 after the CO fell somewhat surprisingly to Trabuco Hills, while Glendora beat a playoff team that had beaten CO. With all 3 teams admittedly by many very close going into the playoffs, CO basically underachieved in the playoffs and Glendora did what was expected, if not more than what some expected. South Hills did the same, so since you had them ahead of GL, I understand that one (although their they still don't have a win as good as 2 or 3 of ours IMO). But that's why we have opinions, right? And rgd2626, your's make no sense (unless you are just trying to stir it up again). No Way you can say SH & CO are a step above everybody else. Those who don't like what the highly detailed computer system says will disagree of course, but CalPreps at the end of the year is a VERY fair and accurate read on things. It's opinion (without bias, of course) has the Tartans #1. It's all about strength of schedule, but props to the other 2 schools for getting that far, it was a solid season in the SGV. No Championship, but lots of good games and good players.

Good luck and great season to both Eldorado, & Trabuco, you must be in high heaven right now with Eldo back in the finals, now that I'm over the pain of there being no SGV team in the finals I feel happy for you, enjoy your time in the sun.

5th or 6th in the SGV is ok with me this year although I think that I would put Amat at 4 & Damien up by West Covina instead of Diamond Ranch and S. El Monte.
I base my opinion on who I think would win head to head and I still think Amat would beat any school below the top three, Damien got hot towards the end just like West Covina did so I think either team could be at 5 & 6. Diamond Ranch was not the same team at the end of the season that they were before the scandal hit them, they struggled with Wilson and an injury depleted Los Altos team before they got hammered by Charter Oak 48 to 7, I also base my opinion on how a team plays at the end of the season & the Panthers seemed to lose momentum at the end so I put D.Ranch at #7.
South El Monte seemed like they got hot at the end but it was against the weaker Mission Valley league teams. the best team they beat all year was Alhambra, when they faced a decent Cal Hi team they lost, I would put them at #8, 9, or 10.
along with San Dimas and Baldwin Park, as for the order of those three its a toss up.

Baseball is what I played at El Do back in the day. I was a year behind Dan Petry (Tigers, Angels)

I've heard some good things about the Baseball programs in the SGV.

Benny, Benny, Benny, for shame. You don't behave this way at home (on OCV), you shouldn't act up when away.

Check back during Baseball season, it gets interesting around here again. Besides, I think there are some Miramonte teams playing ElDo and Canyon come spring.

Here's my spin on the Diamond Ranch issue. You ranked Diamond Ranch 4th based on five forfeited wins. Then you need to rank the five other teams including LA based on the losses. That would make LA 4-6 which I would assume drop them lower in your poll. I personally can’t see how LA is ranked higher than La Puente with all they accomplished this year.

its a hard job to do, i think your pretty close for most teams, its hard to see los altos and bishop amat down so low, but you have to produce on the field. (legally) and they just didnt produce. speaking of (leaglly) that brings me to the choice im very surprised and very dissapointed in was your Diamond Ranch selection. Fred , they used a player that was NOT legal, and come to find out it wasnt an oversight, Fred, he was DENIED ! they made there own bed, they should sleep in it. and people will say what about the rest of the team, well, thats my point exactly, its a TEAM game, you win and lose together.and im not sure why the tribune didnt look into this matter more, this is a serious problem they did. you guys made more of the fight at the volleyball game than this.and im not saying the voleyball incident wasnt bad.
