What makes the LA coach a representive for the Miramonte league when his team did not even make the Playoffs this year? LA sucks B?lls.

Six coaches made these picks at the South hills campus. Eldo, Trabuco, SH, LA, CO and Norwalk. This is truly becoming over-kill, why not just start giving every kid a free letterman jacket for coming out for spring ball.

How come come there is only 5 black people upthere i hate white people

Blyaa...like I said I'm crushed. When you recognize "everyone" you've recognized "NO ONE". I'm sure it's nice to wear a CIF patch and all but the truth is there is only 1 QB on the team. Does that make ANY sense? 5 WRs, 9 Lineman, and essentailly a WHOLE TEAM! 46 players. AND ONE QB? COOOOOOOMMMMMMMMEEEEEE on!
When I played we only had 28 players on the Varsity. Like I said before that's ONLY the FIRST TEAM...how about the 2nd TEAM(96)and then honorable mention? (100+)
But here's my source of new found grumpiness. No matter how much we talk and argue about players and coaches the truth is this is just a game and it's a fact players feel the greatest amount of pressure. I respect that.
Recently I found out a player I respected and admired (talentwise) was nothing more than a faker and a loser. The family put everything into securing his success but in the end it came down to the player's need to find a way out...securing his fate by sabatoging his own accomplishments. The truth is NO ONE knows when these kids want to get off the "bus"....and NO ONE knows who REALLY deserves the highest recognition when it's a watered down acomplishment.
I've seen ALL STAR teams that are nothing more than coach's pets and annointed stars paired with real STUDS only to see them (pretenders)fake injuries to account for them NOT measuring up against ALL STAR caliber competition.
The fact that this player thought getting high before games made him play better only illustrates the truest fact about high school sports...they're just kids. So when I see players make ALL CIF when they were hurt at midseason, or players given new postions to make room for THEM on ALL STAR teams I wonder what that tells the players.... the SYSTEM works to the benefit of STARS? What about the individual that labors at a losing school, small school or ignored school and MERITS his rightful place amoung the best...what does it tell them? And more importantly what does it say about "US" the grownups who should know better. The late Sam Mills, LB for the New Orleans Saints, made ALL PRO many times for a losing team, laughable franchise and overworked defense, at the physically imposing stature of 5'9" 220 lbs (wet)....and was recognized by his peers because of merit not team success. I know it's tough picking the BEST but 46 players?
46 players making CIF 1st TEAM doesn't say much more than...we're lazy, we're complacent and we're part of the problem. In my humble opinion.
And I didn't get high to "see things better"....what a joke! The funny thing about this player is EVERYONE on the TEAM knew...apparently... looked the other way and EVERYONE seemed SHOCKED when NO ONE recruiter the player. The last time I ran into this player he was so high he couldn't even carry on a decent conversation other than to tell me..."It was all natural talent" when he played....over and over and over again.
What that I hear...is that Bruce....is that THE BOSS....."Glory Days....Glory Days...Glory Days..." ...."Bring it on home.... CLARENCE!!!!"
ALL STAR selections should be very interesting.

dear mean machine i was just joking around
i do believe the team is long but id rather have a bigger cif team than a smaller team. it only seems fair to recognize everyone
Posted by: biyaaaaaa | January 22, 2008 9:28 AM
How about a football all time team?
Posted by: Wondering | January 22, 2008 8:33 AM
Blyaaaaaa...I'm crushed.
But even so that's alot of ALL CIF guys don't you think?
Wait you do think right?
Have fun being clever...I find humor in that."Suck a fat one" ....now that's original! Especially when it takes me back 40 years to my Dad can beat up your dad back and forth.
By the way if you knew my Dad that's a safe bet. They still call him Mr. C and he's 72!
Congrats to everyone who made the squads. Like all football players the stories get better with time, Congrats to the seniors. See you at the ALL STAR GAME!

LA is their any truth to the comment in the soccer thread:
"The word around town is Gano applied for the Chino Hills job. Funny how Gano tells everyone he staying on as the head football coach at LA and at the same time he is applying for the head job at Chino Hills. This has been confirmed by multi sources. One is being Tom Inglima the head coach of Ayala."

but as for rodriguez
it is more of a respect issue last year he made first team and this year he only played five games but they still gave it to him because he is a legit player
dont hate on him he is one of the few that are going divinsion one
do you honestly think he shouldnt have made it..
tell that to the men who pick the all state team
he is nominnted for tyhat as well
but thats just my view

Cop Coach I know alolt of people missed this but 46 players on THE FIRST TEAM!!!!!!!???????!!!!
Let's see that's over 80 players, counting the ALL CIF 2nd Team, making that "All CIF" patch less than special....how about the last/next 46...ALL CIF HONORABLE MENTION!!!!!
11 Offensive and 11 Defensive players should make ALL CIF, ALL LEAGUE, ALL AREA plus a K and a P. THAT"S IT! 5 RBs and 1 QB? How absurd is that?
How many players make ALL CIF nowadays?
That's a total joke is right.
Great line by the way! Moms picking the All CIF team....great line!
Wait untill the ALL STAR GAME selections. Last year was a real weeding out process for the pretenders and the contenders. Last year Nogales had a RB that was outstanding against the best and yet NO oNE ever talked about him all year. He was a load, same for the Lineman from Northview and of course McD form Covina was OUTRAGEOUS!
Best of luck to everyone come ALL STAR practice.

The CIF football advisory committee is made up of football coaches that coach in the southern section. Lots of time high school coaches don't nominate certain kids and some time don't even turn in the paperwork. Each coach has there own criteria on how they nominate. You would be surprised! Sometimes in their minds one player is much more advantageous to the team then another. They don't always put up the best players. They put up the best players for the team. There is a difference. I speak from experience because I am on the CIF advisory committee for softball. If you have questions as to why a certain player didn't make the team maybe you should ask your high school coach instead of attacking the CIF office that sponsors the All CIF team but does not choose it.

As far as I know, All-CIF is voted by the league representatives for all leagues in a division. The school representing each league rotates each year.
Don't know who represents the Miramonte this year. Diamond Ranch, maybe?

Here is an update from 5 counties wrestling tourney so far.
Andrew Ortega (Amat) beats Jaramillo (Northview). Nathan Silva advances as well. Espindola, Julian Silva have byes. Thats all I have for right now...

Andrew Romero WR the number one receiver of the Miramonte League and part of a Playoff team & Ruben McQueen DL, Bonita second most sacks get over looked. Who ever selected these kids s??k. and Mr Idiot do not post anything if you know engough about it.

I always thought that playoff teams were deserving of at least one representative. Amd no D Ranch guys. There should have been at least one. Two Suburban guys with four teams representing in the playoffs. Joke

the MILF's selected this team for sure
they didn't want to hurt anyones feelings.
They need to go back to doing what they do best and that isn't selecting All-Star Football teams, that's for sure!
