Football: Wells headed to Villanova; Umodo to Air Force Academy

| | Comments (32) |

South Hills High School standout Dorian Wells has given a verbal commitment to attend Villanova University, and will sign his national letter of intent when the signing period begins in early February.
Huskies linebacker Kebin Umodo also made his decision known over the weekend, giving a verbal commitment to Air Force Academy. The first day players can sign national letters of intent is on February 6. It doesn't look like a huge list this year. Bishop Amat's Dominique Austin (DL) is committed to Arizona, and semi-local Kevan Walker (WR) of Arcadia is headed to UCLA. This is a good thread to discuss where other area players are thinking of going or have already verballed.

Gano watchers said:

Just a little info on Gano. Don't expect for him to go anywhere, his daughter is a stud softball player at LA and he is also coaching the team after last years coach left.

Where did all these spartans come from? Get the heck out of here and take your family fueds with you. This is for real schools talking about real players. I think their players are posting all this crap. Hey Fred? Are you going to do anything about this?

Thompson's Prevail said:

To the Damien Spartans. Your season has ended in the same way every season will end since you let me kids go. Any wonder that Duarte did as well as we did? If I were still there we would have one league. Morrison is a joke. From what I hear you are not going to have to worry about his tight ass any longer. Maybe that school will finally hire a real coach and get a real staff.

Arroyo said:

Hey Louie,

Can you please stop posting on here? You are making a fool of yourself.

LA CONQS said:

TartanKiller,

There are rumors flying around our campus about the same thing here. We don't want Gano going to Damien anymore than Damien wants Morrison to leave. Gano would be hog tied overthere. No offense but you guys are not exactly a winning tradition, I don't think the story is true. Just "alumni" trying to make waves. I wouldn't worry, your 5-5 seasons are safe.

Stevenson, J said:

I am a class of '79 graduate of Damien and I just got some news I'm not sure about. Would like your opinion. Supposedly, Morrison has been fired and will be replaced by Gano. The announcement is to take place sometime this week. From what our alumni have been telling me it was a long time coming as far as the administration was concerned and Morrison has known for a couple of weeks.
I can't believe this if it's true. How could you let a man of that stature go. Gano is great, but he is not a Spartan. If this is true it is a sad day for the Spartans.
Alumni like to talk so if anyone has heard more please let me know.

McMahon is going to Stanford and will be a great fit for Harbaugh. He could have walked on at SC but there was the academic situation with SC and Stanford...I mean there isn't really a comparison there. He pulls a 3.7 during the season so Stanford is going to get a very talented/smart player. Good luck to #2 in 2008!!!

Last time I checked this wasn't an english class, if I'm not mistaken Arroyo. Louie don't worry about Mr Arroyo here he's probably still mad over the fact that they got beat by both Rosemead and South. Also to everyone else just informing you guys make sure you guys check out you spelling and puncuations before posting anything we wouldn't want Ms Mam getting her panties into a bunch.

Arroyo said:

Sorry Louie,
Can you please write your comment again, I could not understand it. Or should I say that I could not really get it because you are missing some words and your lack of punctuation makes it so I have to read it all together and try to make sense of the whole thing ( ,,,,, ....... ,,,,, ...... )

Louie said:

Insider and Arroyo please didn't you guys see his interview of what an important WR is to block for ur RB why do u think mendoza did so good most of the teams in the MVL and Cal Hi lucked out that coach Escamilla didn't put him on D he could man up on anyone and most of the teams that played South triple covered him sort of hard to something with you are triple covered

Whats with the sarcasm towards Tamayo and Tillis? We all know what happened no need to rub it in. This is for D1 players coming out of the SGV we should be happy for them not put down others. Have some class geeze.

Donovan said:

Wells will find out at Villanova that the men he plays against there are nowhere close to the kids he played against in the weak San Antonio League...He will get cracked very hard. Reality check Dorian. Smaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Los Robles Street said:

I hear Los Altos football star Junior Tamayo is going to QB Michigan next year...I guess it does pay off to play for Gano over there at Los Altos.

Insider,

Talk to Wes Welker of the Patriots- WR 5-9 185lbs

If you have the heart and determination you can overcome anything. People like you just hate.

He made it this far. Give the kid his props.

Stop hating.

Arroyo said:

Tommy Cogburn is not going to get a D1 offer, BYU, Utah, and others will not offer a guy who can't even standout in a MVL game, he is not that good, if you took him off the SEM team, they would have been the same, I was more impressed with Mendoza, he's the one that took over in games. Tommy's fast, but he's two feet tall and 40 pounds........ I would take his brother over him ANY-DAY, and he made the right choice and played at Arroyo.

insider said:

I bet you that there is no way Cogburn is going anywhere on scholarship. He may walk on somewhere but there isn't a lot of spots open for 5'10 recievers.

Tetley Street said:

How about Tillis from Los Altos? Was he not slated as the next Michael Vick when he transferred over to Los Altos from Bishop Amat?. I hear USC,UCLA,PENN STATE,GEORGIA AND Texas.

conqybine said:

Any offers to Longoria out of Los Altos? With Bryce getting hurt is there a offer still out there for him?

Ed said:

Its great to hear these kids heading out to college! I heard from a SH player that Washington was looking at Parham. Has anyone heard what school Parham is heading to?

LAC said:

Ray Rodriguez and Bryce Mcbride are defenitely going to get D1 scholarships outta Los Altos High School. They deserve it.

tim gilmore-USC

DHS said:

ryan mcmahon and jon robe has couple of d1 offers on the table

DavidBrownFromCTown IsADouche said:

if these are the only "d1 prospects" the sgv produces... then that is just really sad.
