Gano inquired about Chino Hills. They have no teaching jobs. They will probably hire one of the in district guys that have applied. They do not have the ability to create a new teaching position to move him in.

your a nut case sam, ill tell my son to tell rick that im him. o wait, that hes me,

i tried telling everyone about 7 months ago, gano is going nowhere, i told you he would be the next softball coach and he is, i told you he wont leave la now, and hes not, and NO he didnt apply at ch.greg does not live and die with football, his daughter comes first, and now ad, football, and softball at the school he will stay at.you need to get over that your son was beat out , its ok, your son was a good player, but the other player was good also.

First of all I am not associated with any high school any more. Second this has nothing to do with LA it has to do with Gano and his character, or lack of. And finally you forgot the "y" in worrying.

Leave LA alone! Stop being an LA hater and start worring about Wilson.

Coach Godinez,
You are telling us that you talked to Gano and he told you that he is staying at LA and he never apply for the Chino Hill’s job.
I just want to clear the air, make sure that there is no confusion.

January 22, 2008 12:05 PM
I cut and pasted it from your own post, after all.
"now its funny how you only talk about little things nothing on how the recruiuts come in n take deserving players spots."
Oh please. Way to change the subject to that old whine, which I've answered gazillion times on this and other boards. But just out of curiosity, which "deserving" player are you trying to claim was entitled to a spot he lost to someone who was recruited (obviously, because no one would ever transfer to a successful football program)?

i said that la had to be 1 of the most talented teams in the valley we all know the most talented team in the valley is probably amat
now its funny how you only talk about little things nothing on how the recruiuts come in n take deserving players spots. man i wish that other guy ganosrecruitinginc would come back.

Let’s stay focus, did Gano apply for the job at Chino Hills. Well we have Tom Inglima Head coach of Ayala high school saying yes. We have a bunch of Gano groupies saying no comment. Rgd2626 is a very close friend of Gano’s you can clear this all up.
Did he apply for the Chino Hills job?

Ah, I see. So "has talent like no other" apparantly means "has a few (often one) D1 athletes". So every decent (and some not-so-good) team in the SGV has "talent like no other", no matter how many lesser athletes going both ways they have filling out their roster. Glad to clarify that. For a second I thought having an undersized skinny guy play running back, free safety, punt holder, place kicker, punt returner, and kickoff returner (Miramontes in 04) was a sign that the roster might have been a bit thin.
"so like sam said lets stay focused did Gano apply for the chino hills job?"
I can't answer a question I don't know the answer to. I've heard the same rumor as everyone else. You obviously seem to have a problem with asking the man yourself, since you're so interested.
"now rgd2626 if your such a good friend then you will ask Gano and clear his name on this blog."
Let's cut the BS and stop pretending anything Gano does is going to "clear his name" with you.

that same year against that same team that thrashed matter dei los altos had who on that team. if im not mistaken hes a starter for ucla on the d-line. brigham harwell.
so like sam said lets stay focused did Gano apply for the chino hills job?
now rgd2626 if your such a good friend then you will ask Gano and clear his name on this blog.
actually Gano would want his name off this blog because even if he doesnt care about seeing his name here some parents do. especially the parents that are thinking about transferring there kids over to los altos next season to take the spot of a hard working kid from the area that deserves a shot to play because hes been with the program for 4 years. but we all know thats not gonna happen. unless your a jhykron, or a rgd2626.

showsumpride:
If LA has the most talent in the SGV (outside of 2003), that's more of an indictment of the SGV than anything.
Anyway, they don't. Even in their best year, for example, they had to start a 5'5" 180lb GUARD on their line. In the CIF finals. Against a team that thrashed Mater Dei.
And I feel real sorry for any talented team you ever get to coach, if you think all you need is a bunch of athletes, and they'll win automatically.
SAM:
"Why is it that when every anyone says anything negative about Gano the same two or three guys come on this blog attacking the person that makes the comments about Gano, weather the comment are valid or not."
Oh Boo freakin hoo. Someone out there might like Gano, and feel like taking the time to set the record straight when people try to distort it. ("valid"... right)
"Let’s stay focus, did Gano apply for the job at Chino Hills."
Ask him.
"Well we have Tom Inglima Head coach of Ayala high school saying yes."
Good for Inglima. If you think he's a reliable source, then you have your answer.
"We have a bunch of Gano groupies saying no comment."
We have a bunch of obessed retards looking for another reason to tear the man down. See, I can call people names, too.
"Rgd2626 is a very close friend of Gano’s you can clear this all up. Did he apply for the Chino Hills job?"
Why don't you just assume he did, since you obviously are chomping at the bit to make an issue of it.
Or you could ask Gano yourself, it's not like he's hard to find. Why does one of the "groupies" have to do your homework for you?

To be completely honest with you I would love to take ganos job. It would be a drastic pay raise, from what im making now. pl,us i wouldnt have to do anything. Just get some athletes, and just have them run left run right.
"The rest of the HS football world disagrees, but whatever"
actually the high school football coaching world thinks the same way I do they know that la has talent like no other. honestly it has to be one of the most talented teams in the sgv. Thats how la wins games not by coaching abilities.

I'm not concerned with your opinion that Gano (or Booth, or anyone else on Gano's staff) is a bad coach. That's your opinion, it's subjective, and you have a right to it. The rest of the HS football world disagrees, but whatever.
"what is your relationship with gano. Are you one of the many people that are trying to get on his good graces by sucking up to him, and backing him up??? "
Ah, I see. Everyone who doesn't take the opportunity to badmouth Gano every time his name is mentioned is a suck-up. Gotcha.
Actually, I have nothing to gain by backing Gano, and nothing to lose by criticizing him (and you should have heard me swearing every time he called a pass play at the end of last season).
A better question is why you find it necessary to take every oportunity to defame him. You waiting around to take his job if he leaves, or what?

what is your relationship with gano. Are you one of the many people that are trying to get on his good graces by sucking up to him, and backing him up??? I will start respecting gano as a coach when he actually wins games by coaching. Yes he has won multiple cif championships. But when was the last time he won anything without some stud on his team that went d1, and was just great. Even gano said it himself back when he was coaching at wilson he said"you give me good talent and I win" now a good coach would say give me time with my players, and i will win. so when gano starts to coach I will calll him a good coach.

What's not true is that he "tells everyone he staying on as the head football coach at LA"
gano is telling everyone that hes staying at la as the head football coach. in fact hes telling some freshman parents that he will be there for the four years that they are in high school. The source for that was a person on ganos staff. actually probably the worst coach on the staff booth.

Hell, if you have his number and know his schedule, ask him yourself. It's not my job to satisfy your curiosity on the issue. For all I know he did talk to Chino Hills... I've heard the same rumor.
What's not true is that he "tells everyone he staying on as the head football coach at LA" ... "everyone" obviously doesn't include his own assistant coaches who still don't know what he's going to do. It wouldn't surprise me if Gano doesn't know himself, apparantly he has a lot going on right now.

Wow? I'm on Gano's staff? I guess I'd better hit him up for a coaching stipend.
Of course, I work on the other side of Los Angeles from Hacienda Heights, so it would be a very neat trick to actually, oh I don't know, actually get to practices to coach anyone.
"These comments are all but telling us that Gano has applied for the job at Chino Hills."
Of that I have no idea. I know I've heard the same rumor... just like the rumors previous years that he was trying to go to Amat, La Verne, Chino Hills, whatever... I'll believe it when I see it.
"Gano’s staff is composed of his friends from the West Covina area where he went to school "
Ummm... West Covina area? Who? Not Howing, Freize, Fair, Aguilar, Ortiz, Godinez, Flores, Reider, Dimarco... Booth maybe? One of the JV coaches?
"You would have been better off making no comment, making a comment on the blog like that puts no doubt in anyone’s mine that Gano did apply for the Chino Hills job."
You must have a pretty high opinion of yourself to think I give a rat's backside what conclusions my comments have you jumping to.
If he goes to Chino Hills or anywhere else, good for him. If he stays at LA (my guess is he does, though I was more confident in that a month ago), then I guess you still have your favorite whipping boy.

Here I will even give you his office phone number 626-934-5435. He will be on his lunch break in about 30 minutes.

These comments are all but telling us that Gano has applied for the job at Chino Hills. You are part of his staff and we all know that Gano’s staff is composed of his friends from the West Covina area where he went to school and LA alumni. Based on your comments I can conclude the West Covina part of his staff will be moving with him and the LA part of his staff will take over at LA. That is if he gets the job at Chino Hills. Leo Wingett was my football coach at Wilson back in the day. I have only a few vivid memories of the man, but those that stick are positive ones. He was such a great influence on us as young, impressionable boys. He instilled a feeling of personal responsibility and obligation to our teammates.
The year I played for him was my first year ever playing football and the lessons he taught me stick with me until today, not just in football, but in life. I'm proud to call him my coach and will miss him.
The good news is that his legacy of love, compassion and coaching lives on with his son Bob. You dad would be proud of you.

Jhykron,
Those comments sound like you know something that we don't. Gano does have ties out in the Chino area. Rhonda lives out in Chino, his daughters mother. I went to school with her. Great pitcher, she is in the top ten in wins, D1. What does he have to come back to at LA, its a rebuilding year, he said it himself.

3 very nice wins by the Sierra league today at the Los Osos MLK event. Chino Hills easily beat Alta Loma, Glendora manhandled Claremont and Diamond Bar in an upset over Santiago (Corona). The Sierra league looks solid this year. Big battle at the new diggs at Damien Wednesday night between big time rivals Glendora and those Spartans. The Tartans currently have sole possession of 1st place but have yet to play Damien, who is one game back along with Chino Hills. Should be a packed house as the Spartans try to get their first win over Glendora in their new house (remember that bad loss last year at the end of the season?!). Two big students sections, two big fan followings...has to be the game of the year up to this point. They don't get any better than this!!!

Tell me why rowland basketball isnt considered one of the valleys best. they win league year in and year out. yet west co south hills and nogales are ranked above them. they beat south hills and west co. the nogales game was theres until the really talented nogales took it over. but what im trying to get to is this. rowland is one of the best teams in the valley yet they are unranked. and you cant look at there record they had a hard non league schedule. one of the games being against nationally ranked mater dei. ANSWER MY QUESTION FRED.

As far as Chino Hills goes, the rumor is out there. The same rumor was out there when the school first opened. Make of that what you want.

Don't know how this Gano news came up since this is a bball blog thread....
However I wouldn't blame Gano, Chino produces some good athletes. Over here he has to find them. Mabye its time for LA to move on with a fresh start and rebuild. mabye Gano can also get away from the criticism he's taken from the SGV and this on thus blog as well....

LA is their any truth to the comment in the soccer thread:
"The word around town is Gano applied for the Chino Hills job. Funny how Gano tells everyone he staying on as the head football coach at LA and at the same time he is applying for the head job at Chino Hills. This has been confirmed by multi sources. One is being Tom Inglima the head coach of Ayala."

i think the game was a good game
because it was south hills, i think both teams were trying TOO hard, thus making it a little bit sloppy during the first three quarters
west covina was able to get it together in the 4th and pulled away
south hills couldnt score until like half way into the fouth
\by then it was too late
hope this helps

Even though they lost by 13 or 14, this team looks very talented as they mature. Plus a side note, I thought the officiating was very good.
