Boys Basketball: Glendora does it again!

UPDATE:Glendora will have the home game against Etiwanda on Tuesday. I'll post the location when I get it.

Steve Ramirez will update this thread later, but he tells me the Tarts won another thriller, and some guy named Dominic Tiger-Cortez didn't hit the game-winning shot, he had the game winning strip instead.

Mr. Playoff: What is it about Mike LeDuc coached teams in the playoffs? Nobody, and I mean nobody, expected the Tartans to be in the semifinals this year. I wasn't sure they would get out of the first round, but you know me, I've been wrong before. But I'm not doubting Mr. Playoff anymore.

My take: I'm beginning to think Glendora is the team of destiny. They win another nailbiter, except this was almost the reverse of Tuesday's come-from-behind win at El Toro. This time the Tartans, playing in a "Hoosiers" type atmosphere with a standing-room only crowd, were on the ropes....enter Dominic Tiger-Cortes, who once again saved the Tartans, except it wasn't a thrilling 3-pointer, or drive to the hoop and score. No, he showed he can also play some 'D.' He went on 1-on-1 with a kid - North's Malcolm Lee - who will be playing for Ben Howland at UCLA next year. And he stepped up, blocking Lee's path to an easy deuce and forcing a travel that clinched it for the Tartans.
Fred gets to decide who is player of the year, but Tiger-Cortes gets it in my book, for that one play alone.
Etiwanda is next up, but there's no way I'm picking against the team of destiny.
- Steve Ramirez

Enjoyed the CIF Semi-Finals between Glendora and Etiwanda. Its was an exciting and close game towards the end. Glendora did a great job and all the players step up their game! was proud to see Dominic Tiger-Cortez display his natural talent and skills on the court, but what caught my eye the most, was Dom's display of sportsmanship and positive attitude. This is what makes a great player even better. Good Luck Dom in your Senior year. Will be lookin out for your name in the NCAA. No Doubt you will be a star!

Good luck tomorrow Tartans!!! Let's go all the way this year!!!

I'm proud to be a Glendora Alum!!

I hope to be there tomorrow supporting my school!!!

Let's go Tartans!!!

HUGE UNDERDOGS AGINST EL TORO WE WON SAME THING AS ETIWANDA!

Ghs has been doubted before and thats what we like were underdogs against ehs but if they the great d this magical season will continue

Mean Machine,

I know that you are a Leduc/GHS fan (as am I) so I'm hoping that you read this thread too.

Props to you!!!

You're a bigger man than most, and you know why!

Usually people that are the most passionate are the ones that take some heat, and not everyone takes the time to get to know what's behind that passion.

Your "good deed shall be repaid tenfold".

But you know that

God Bless

glendora runs everything, etiwanda has theres coming just like El toro and J.W North...we got everyone on lock!!!!

Glendora better enjoy their happiness because it ENDS on Tuesday. You cant hang with us. You are our pre-game warm-ups till we smash King at the Pond. Yeah and for your star Dominic he is in for a shock when he cant get anything. We have 4 guys Rome at 6'6, Tre at 6'5 ,Jordan at 6'4,and Deronn at 6'4 who can stick him alone and without any help. A lil bit about us 2 good point guards in Erick and Tim Pendergraph(his brother starts at ASU). 4 good guards/forwards in Jordan, Tre, Deronn and Rome. In the post we have Christian at 6'5 and big Perris at 6'8 265 to handle the paint. Good luck, your gonna need it to stay within 20.

PEOPLE

tiger-cortez did not force a travel. in the closing seconds a blocking fould should have been called. i was at the game n i knew exactly what i was watching. the ref called the wrong call. and you people tiger did play the hero and strip no way did he do that! as barkley would say...TORRIBLE!

I've been sayin all year that the Sierra is solid this year while others (Some Brown guy from Ctown?? where are you now?)
But even I will admit I didn't expect TWO teams in the final 4!!! Wow, talk about dominating the division, and a tough division at that. It's the #1 & #2 seeds left along with CH and the Tartans. And how about Glendora! Most improved team in the valley? In So. Cal maybe? Wow! 3 exceptional wins in CIF. I don't think they have ever traveled as tough a road to the semis in their history...and that's a lot of semis. Great game tonight; almost the polar opposite of the El Toro game. Wonder how many Tartans fans were thinking at the end that this smells like a comback like we pulled on El Toro...bu5 it was happening to us. Did just enough to hold on though and that is the difference for this team. Dom was good tonight but again others stepped up big. Tonight there were different big moments like the points that Kos put up and the 3's that Calvin made. The putbacks by Downard and the key buckets by Harsha and Josh. Dom is doing a great job of finding his moments but also finding his mates at letting them make some plays here and there. Next comes another giant in Etiwanda. At Damien? Nice! How many does that new place hold? How sweet would and all Sierra final be? It could happen.

Wheres McDonald?
hahahaha

GO TARTANS. Good Win!

Wow, How Bout Them Tartans. They play @ the lovely DAMIEN on Tuesday at 730 against a good #2 seed Etiwanda team. Draper, Ellis, and Top Scorer Brewed, are all good well rounded players. They play good D and their only loss on the season is to the high powered offense of Rancho by 1.

Lets Go Tartans

JUST LIKE FOOTBALL!

It's about 50 minutes before tip-off and I just arrived at JW North. Glendora side is about full. Again, I will attempt to provide quarter updates, but it will depend on the reception I get in here. So far it's pretty good.

Again, I will attempt to post updates, but it will depend on the cell-phone reception I get in the gym.
