Are you asking a question of making a statement? Amat did rolled through league and rolled through most of CIF dual tourney only to lose by 6 points to Loara. I would hardly call that a bad season. Losing Andrew, Stevie, Ralphie, and Devon hurt us pretty good. Stevie, Justin and Nathan are all juniors so look for them to do some damage next season. Julian (215) is an awesome wrestler but went 1-2 against Northview's stud (all of their matches were great and could have gone either way)he also went one round farther at state. So it is only fitting that Alcantar have the first team honors. However, Julian had an GREAT season, league champ, CIF indy champ, 4th SS Masters, State Qualifier. Not to shabby!

What happened to the league champ wrestlers of Amat? One made the team Andrew Ortega, but from the talk coming out of Amat their wrestlers were supposed to dominate other programs. Grades? out of shape? TOO much Football? Too many injuries and also the ones that quit and gave up on their seasons (losers). They should have loaded up their team with more football players. Finally the football team looks to be on the upswing with the revamped coaching staff. The seniors that played under Verti for two years got screwed. Povre-sitos

Although Stupplebean did have a great year,
Jesse Cruz beat him twice. Once at the Northview and at the Nogales Tourney. Both of those matches were fun to watch.

There are some good wrestlers that are not on this list too bad they couldn't all be mentioned.

Great job this year Northview coaches, Bellamy, Lafarge, Lopez, Ochoa and the countless others who help Northview be successful.

I went with Jesse Cruz for the first team at 145 because he advanced to the semifinals at state and placed fifth. I tried to make a fair assessment, and believe all the state placers should be on the first team.
VVL, neither Marquez or Martinez, at 130, placed at state, but Marquez did win Masters and he did advance one round further in the championship bracket at state. They both missed placing at state by one round.
I hope that answers your questions.

Way to go Angel. You were great all four years of high school and certainly deserve the honor.
