Softball: Glendora, Bishop Amat advance to championship games; San Dimas loses heartbreaker, 3-1 in 15 innings
Glendora: I just go word that Glendora knocked off defending champion Pacifica, 3-1, to advance to the the Division II championship on Friday or Saturday at Deanna Manning Stadium in Irvine. Unbelievable win Tartans.
Bishop Amat: The Lady Lancers are going to play for their first title in school history after knocking off Downey, 7-4, in the Division IV champoinship.
San Dimas: Give it up to the wild-card Saints, taking the top seed to the 15th inning before finally losing in the Division V semifinals, 3-1, to Torrance.
Tuesday's semifinals
Division II
Glendora 3, Pacifica 1 -- Tartans a game away from Cinderella finish.
Division IV
Bishop Amat 7, Downey 4 -- Lancers hoping for first softball title in school history.
Division V
Torrance 3, San Dimas 1, 15 innings -- Saints resilient till the end. Great year girls.

You're right, that's why I said I wasn't certain -they lost to Charter Oak and Fullerton in the DII finals.
Do they have the runner-up banners? I've just never noticed them.
Of course, with the Boys Basketball team being as bad as it is - I spend less time in there than before!

Don't get too cocky. Lancer softball was in the CIF finals in 93 and 94.

I'm not certain they've ever been to the finals either - I think FJR is right.
I don't recall any Gold CIF Runner-Up banners in the gym.(Blue for Champions, Gold for Runners up, White for Semi-finals)

i was wrong. i read it wrong. i saw that after i posted. no they have not won a title. they have been in the finals 2 or more times. hey we all make mistakes from time to time

The Saints game was amazing. If it wasn't for Torrance just about taking out the pitcher things might have been different. Lots of returners for next year so keep watching sports fans.

HEY FRED GOOD JOB ON COVERING ALL THE LOCAL SCHOOLS STILL INVOVED IN THE PLAYOFFS.... ONE NOMINEE I WHAT TO NOMINATE IS BRITTNEY FLORES FROM SIERRA VISTA HS.. SHE JUST FINISHED OFF AN AWESOME SEASON.. WAS JUST NAMED MVP OF HER RESPECTED LEAGUE FINISHED OFF BATTING .659 9 HRS 48 RBIS 1.498 SLG% 1.26 ERA 168KS 12-0 IN LEAGUE 18-2 OVERALL... I WOULD LOVE TO SEE HER ON THE TEAM SHE EARNED IT THIS YEAR... THANKS FRED.. THE COACH FROM SV DID ALSO A WONDERFULL JOB THIS YEAR KEEPING THE GIRLS TOGETHER WORKING AS A TEAM.. Well, if I'm being honest, I'd have to go with Torrance. They're 27-4 and play in the toughest league. At least the Saints get them at home, but hey, momentum is everything and the Saints have it at the moment so who knows?
