What you did, was kind of prove the point below. Facts do not matter to you - just your feelings and opinions (ie: 73-90 who cares).

And you can't pick & choose facts - like record - to determine anything. You have to look at *all* the facts - yet you ignore those. Takes too much time, it's too long for you, takes too much thought. Pick one and guess - or form an opinion...same thing.
Rather read USA Today and Readers Digest versions than the real thing. That's OK. Therein lies some of the difference.

I think you have 90 and 73 mixed up, but you guys aren't too good with numbers, facts, and stats. You'd rather just go with your feelings and opinions so you can't be wrong when the information proves otherwise.
The funny things is that I bet in the history of the blog there are more Amat posts that respond to some assinine comment from some ignorant blogger, than there are Amat bloggers that start a topic.

to tell the truth, i check out the length of the reply and if posted by the "stats" man I ignore all the bologne. I learned after the first two or three posts. You don't usually throw out stats though, you just challenge the "other" kids to a fist fight after school. too funny you are little one...

amat people -- YOU (joe in particular) have been tooting the damn "classic" tourney for the last 2 months, need I bring up all your ridiculous stats about every damn team in that tournament and who they have played in the last 5 years, all the utter nonsense SO check yourself. I get why you feel the need, so those 2 wins were your most rewarding this season. I am not talking about your latest beef or "rebuttal" on this blog either so JUST STOP, you seem to have made yourself judge and jury over anyone that has anything to say about Amat. The point is - this was a discussion between you and Old School about Northview. Amat was NOT involved in the conversation. Other than OS saying he saw NV against Amat.

Sounds like a little bit of a complex you have there. What does that sound like to you, when you are constantly comparing yourself to others, either inwardly or on a blog?

And Denny, again, I didn't even mention the level of competition in the "National Classic" I just said the fields were very nice. You're right on another count...it's not like those teams in the Classic were the BEST in their state, they were only #3 in DC, #3 in Oregon , #4 in Tennessee, and #12 in Florida. Weak teams. But it was an honor and a privilage to be there and to be invited.I agree it is possible that NV could have gone 2-2 in the tournament as well...if they were allowed in.

But that's another story altogether.

kids.. kids.. kids.., let's return to our respective corners and just keep it positive and root for your own team. I am sure the coaches and playes of the above mentioned teams are worried and focused about the important issues - why can't we. Bonita didn't have the pitching to stand up to Northview. What stood out to me was how the outfield played shallow and shaded to pull. When the pitcher threw outside pitches to Andrade and then Arnold in the 3rd the Bonita right fielder was grossly out of position as balls that might have been playable were easy RBI doubles.

Really, this is how it always starts. Nobody from Amat says anything. "Old School" complains about the Northview coaches "recruiting" and lack of "integrity (his words - not mine) and states that the only games he's seen are against Bonita and Amat. Then in rushes the old, overweight, Alzheimers stricken Denny Crane (the TV character) justifying recruiting with the sarcastic remark, "..first off there's no recruiting in high school baseball.just ask amat about that..." who then loses all credibility and proves that he may have "mad cows disease" by saying that "talk about integrity trash talk is part of the game". What is that? Part of high school baseball?

The point is - this was a discussion about the Bonita/Northview game, but this is how it always starts. “Just when we try to get out…they pull us back in!” Northview...please don't claim this guy as one of your own. I'm sure that he's just the attorney that represented NVFan during his parole hearing.

And for him to pick on where a baseball coach keeps his pencil (many at ALL levels use their hat - where else?) is ludicrous.

Or a choice of "alternate sites". By CIF's definition that's somewhere that you haven't conducted *practice*. It can be somewhere you have *played*. This season Amat has beaten Loyola (last seasons CIF Champion) at ELAC, which has a very nice facility. If you don't think that knowing the field you're on helps - you've never played baseball at a very high level. Pitchers knowing the mound, infielders understanding the infield and outfielders aware of the distance of the fence and angles in the outfield all create a comfort zone. Why choose a place new to BOTH teams and have NO advantage. Pick one that we've played on (and won) that the opponent has not. You know that Amat fans will travel - we're used to that. One of the great things about being at Amat is traveling outside of our little fishbowl and experiencing playing at venues like ELAC, Loyola Marymount, or the great fields at the National Classic. I'm disappointed with FJR for not realizing that and fueling the fire.

The Home Field advantage is not about *proximity* but *familiarity* .

Northview winning is its own story and Amat winning is its own story and lets keep the two separate. The only thing it's doing is taking away from the success that these two teams are having and bringing negative trash talking about the programs at a time when everyone should be happy and excited. Mr. Crane, I am too a fan of Boston Legal and I understand your disdain for the Amat coach, you're not alone on those feelings, but the game is over with and you won and your team is one game away, so roll with it and enjoy the ride. Amat lovers, enjoy your last ride with your talented seniors before they're gone. Good luck to both teams.

Look, all I said was that it's great to love you're team and to show the passion that comes with it.

If you or Denny hate Amat so much, well, what can I say? I mean really, why spend so much time and energy on that subject?

As im sure Denny would have liked to have said on this blog (but didn’t) was that it would be better off, if the blogers spent their time talking about how well their team is doing and looking forward to the next game, instead of trash talking about the other schools. That way, poor old Fred wouldn’t have to work overtime so much to “clean it up.”

But for some unexplained reason, he and others like you just can't seem to lay off the trash talk. Why? I mean why do you guys need to throw it out there when you’re talking about you’re team and how well you did in you’re last game, when Amat wasn’t even playing against you in that particular game ?

You know, Amat played Northview a long time ago, yet you guys are still reacting to that game as if it was suppose to be the end of Amat or something. You won, we lost, we got over it and moved on. What else could we do?

Believe it or not, I am certain most of the Amat faithful would like to see Northview do well in the playoffs. I would, after all. I mean, we all can agree here that Northview is a good team. And it is one, that we all hope wins the CIF in the end, because it would bring yet another banner to the SGV right?

NHS and Coach Murph are all about hard work, heart and class, which should be what the game is about and every program aspire to be.

The Vikings play hard and play with emotion, which just means that they are impassioned to win and excel. They are NOT a classless program by any stretch. Who cares if their catcher get's excited on plays? He wasn't trash talkin', he was just excited. Huge difference!

As far as the calls that you pointed toward, stuff happens in a game and you roll with the punches. That is baseball. There were some difficult calls both ways early on, but clearly the best team won the game.

Too bad you had to comment on the Amat game but I will assume you don't know the half of that story. There were NO ISSUES with the Bonita game. Both coaches had nothing but good things to say about the game. It was such an exciting game and both teams had a tough time with some of the umpires calls BUT neither could blame or credit the umpire for the game. You might want to take a page out of their book and stop trying to create a problem.

Maybe i have not had a chance to watch enough NV baseball. One other game I attended was the Amat game and the conduct of the coaches once again displayed no professionalism (coaches should not point at scoreboards)The players on the other hand are impressive on the field, and have incredible fan support. Hopeull the SGV wins 3 of the top 5 CIF divisions.

Too bad Old School The Blogger isn't as good as Old School The Movie. This is the best you come up with after a semifinal game between Bonita and Northview? I'm impartial, actually had a kid graduate from South Hills in the 90's and this is what I saw. If you didn't know you were at Bonita, you would've thought this was a Northview home game with the people that came for them. It dwarfed the Bonita crowd in comparison (which was big itself). Also, great quote by Bonita coach about "that's baseball" when the questionable call was made on the foul ball. The same could be said about the play at the plate that went in Bonita's favor when the Bonita kid ran through the Northview catcher, but "that's baseball" and Northview moved on. I was impressed by Bonita and their play, but more impressed with Northview. They are just better. According to someone that seen the two teams play earlier this year, Northview won 10-3 and now 8-4. It isn't luck my "old school" buddy, but the better team won and the personal attacks on coaches and kids negates anything semi-intelligent you say, so you really should quit now and be proud of the second place position that you got. Good luck to Northview and bring the Valley another crown.

Bonita fans should not talk about class until they clean up there house first. They have a few parents that cry, yell, and taunt the other teams, home and away it does not matter. Tell that “has been” to keep quiet and then you can talk about others. We will see how class they have next year with arguably the best pitching staff around.

Dranch run will end at patriot. Their pitching is not strong enough to hold those sluggers.

After watching NV get a HUGE break on a BAD call by 1st base ump that led to 4 runs and a victory for NV, I see why NV wins the no class award. NV players play extremely hard, but all the trash talking from the catcher, and the coaches (Murphy, and the big guy from Monterey Park Angels Little League/ who is director of recruiting outside covina)constantly walking out to talk to their players- as if fans are there to see them. Maybe they're paid on # conferences per season. Does anyone know,where these coaches played and for who? What are you guys teaching your players? TO WIN WITH NO INTEGRITY.I hope knowone on this staff teaches at NV, I can only imagine what your classroom is like. I firmly believe that the coaching staff represents the school ,community,and their players. Today Bonita coaches where the the ones to display that.
