This is how we do it in the SGV
I've been doing this for nearly 15 years and can never remember having this many teams left on semifinal Tuesday. Normally I spend this holiday working on a feature of a particular player of the one or two teams left, but this is ridiculous. Ridiculously great that is. Keep it going now, lets dominate the CIF championships with valley teams this weekend.

Tuesday's semifinals
Baseball
Division III
South Hills (22-5) at Elsinore (17-11), 3:15 p.m.
Division IV
Anaheim Savanna (23-6) at Northview (24-4), 3:15 p.m.
Diamond Ranch (16-11) at Riverside Patriot (27-2), 3:15 p.m.
Division V
Bishop Montgomery (18-10-1) vs. Bishop Amat (25-4) at East L.A. College, 3:15 p.m.
Softball
Division II
Glendora (18-9) at Garden Grove Pacifica (22-10), 3:15 p.m.
Division IV
Bishop Amat (21-8) at Downey (22-7-1), 3:15 p.m.
Division V
Torrance (27-4) at San Dimas (20-9), 3:15 p.m.
Quick thoughts: Of all the teams here, the Glendora softball team is the biggest surprise. I do think Glendora and Bishop Amat have a great chance of reach the softball finals, but not sure about San Dimas, I'm afraid this is where it ends. Except for South Hills being on the road, I still like their chances to advance. Bishop Amat baseball is a slam dunk and Northview at home is going to get it done. Not sure if Diamond Ranch can keep this going so by my count, we should at least five teams playing in championships this weekend.

Hey Fredo, Lets Talk about the Pre-League.. Damien vs Bonita. In your last rankings you ranked Bonita a lot higher than Marrison's Crew. So Who do you think is going to pull out on top for the battle for LaVerne?
Sorry no football on Monday, hey it was a holiday, had a lot of baseball to do, so relax football people, by next Monday it's all football all the time. But this is baseball, softball and track week, I think we can take a break from football for once.
Fred / Steve, what games will you be covering this Tuesday?
Anaheim @ Northview and Torrance @ San Dimas, would be my choice.
Fred can you post who made All League for the San Antonio League for softball? Thanks
Good Luck to the SGV softball teams.
Anything can happen, good luck especially to Glendora I hear one of there starters is hurt, so step it up ladies play your game and enjoy the ride!!
FredJ,
Did last week's Monday Morning Football intimidate you too much to continue your weekly FOOTBALL posts? How about posting some more information like your impact players you promised us Valley football fanatics.
I apologize to you Baseball fans too. I do realize your in the playoffs so do not mean to intrude and for record really hope someone in the Valley represents and brings home a title. One question.
Why would someone like Bishop Amat be in a lower division than someone like Northview and Diamond Ranch?
I didn't mention South Hills in that question either because I think I speak for many us that were getting sick and tired of their behavior not only on the baseball field but also on the gridiron in football.
Message to South Hills. Your reputation proceeds you and you cannot continue to conduct yourselves like you do in sporting events without their being some kind of consequences. Your vocabulary word for the week is SPORTMANSHIP!
Bishop Amat Lancers will go Back to Back. Good Luck to Northview, Diamond Ranch and So. Hills. It gets tougher as you go deeper but they all have the talent to get there. Go SGV. Lets stick together here, we will go back and fight with each other come football season.
just a fan
Don't forget. Good luck to DRanch
Putting all the differences a side, i root for all the local teams, it would be a great statement to the talent in the local area.
I realize that what makes baseball fun is the argument of who is better, but since wea are all playing outsiders, you got too root for the locals.
Good luck Bishop, NV and SH.
What losing 10 games? I don't care what they did a year ago, five years ago, all that matters is this season. Any team that's lost ten times isn't that dominant to me. I'm not saying they're not good, shoot they are the favorites at home. But this is nothing Glendora hasn't seen.
Etiwanda hasn't accomplished what Pafifica has...
Biggest upsets in recent memory? How about their upset win over No. 2 Etiwanda, or their upset win over Ayala, or the upset of all upsets, winning the Sierra League. Nothing the Tartans do surprise me anymore
Fred, you do know Glendora is playing Pacifica, arguably one of the most dominant softball programs in CIF-SS the past few years, right?
I'd like to see the Tartans pull it off, but to do so would be one of the bigger upsets in recent memory.
I think everyone else has a decent chance.
LADY SAINTS get'er DONE!!
