Just Tribbin
An open discussion, whoever and whatever you wanna talk about. I'm gone for another week but Stevie R., will be here to handle all the duties.

These are the football playoff groupings for 2008-10.
Pac-5 Division: Moore, Serra, South Coast, Sunset, Trinity.
Inland Division: Big 8, Citrus Belt, Inland Valley, Southwestern.
Western Division: Bay, Golden, Mission, Ocean, San Gabriel.
Northern Division: Channel, Foothill, Marmonte, Pac-7, Pacific View.
Central Division: Baseline, Mt. Baldy, San Andreas, Sierra, Sunbelt.
Southwest Division: Century, Empire, Freeway, Orange, Sea View.
Southeast Division: Almont, Del Rio, Miramonte, Pacific, San Antonio.
Eastern Division: Desert Sky, Desert Valley, Mojave River, Mountain Pass, Sunkist.
Southern Division: Garden Grove, Golden West, Orange Coast, Pacific Coast, Suburban.
Northwest Division: Camino Real, Del Rey, Los Padres, Pioneer, Tri-Valley.
Mid-Valley Division: Mission Valley, Montview, Olympic, Rio Hondo, Valle Vista.
East Valley Division: Academy, Alpha, Christian, De Anza, Frontier, High Desert.
Northeast Division: Big Sky, Desert Mountain, Prep, San Joaquin, Santa Fe.
Fred's thoughts: I absolutely love the Southeast Division, throwing Pacific League schools, Muir, Arcadia, etc, to go against the Miramonte and San Antonio. Then you have the Almont and Del Rio from the Whittier area. This is a true area championship. Also, the Valle Vista can compete in the Mid Valley Division. In fact they might be the toughest league right now, and that's not a joke. No more Oaks Christian for Covina and San Dimas, the Valle Vista champion could actually win CIF next year.

Stang Fan,
I have saved some time on September 6th to read your post regarding the Miramonte League teams you can't wait to face. Be sure and either get up early or post Friday night, it would be a shame for me to miss your reflections after you finish your work in Pomona.
Just think, you only booked the S E C O N D B E S T team in the league.
Keep lickin' those chops baby.

stang fan over here on the east side we say talk is cheap! and be careful what u wish for!

Freddie J,
Great to see you still doing your thing over at the Trib. Tell your pops hello and to keep up the good work with the golf team...and as he well knows, it's always, "Stangs for Life!!!"
Anyhow, just thought I'd pop over to the east blog and kick up a little dust....
You mentioned before on another thread that Muir was "licking its chops" when they found out about their placement in the new Southeast Division. That very well may be the understatement of the year! Quite frankly, the Stangs are "licking their chops," pounding their bellies," "banging their plates on the table," or whatever silly metaphor one can muster to accurately describe the sheer anticipation of FINALLY getting a chance to play SH, CO, LA, and whoever else in our new division who wants it!!!!!!!
You SH and CO fans are HILARIOUS!!!!! You guys are (chuckle) already writing (giggle) yourselves into the (laugh) championship game (LMAO)??? Are you serious? Break it down for me. Analyze. Explain. Why will it be such a cakewalk for you? Please don't give me that HISTORY BS though. You can go on and on about the championships you have won in the past...but I ask you, "who the F*** have you played!!!" Amat fans may be myopic, but they are absolutely correct in their assessment of how and why you guys have won rings...D-6 and D-7.
Yes, I know, you "did what you were supposed to" and at least you guys have won a title "in the last 20 years." You are right. You did and you have...we didn't and have not. Congrats. But please don't confuse that with being better than everyone else. Honestly, I'm embarassed that the Pacific league has dropped from D2 to D3 to D5 to D7 all in just 12-13 years. It's shameful. It probably is best for the teams in our league, even Muir, nonetheless it still hurts to see that happen. My hope is that we can battle back, win a few titles and move back up with the big boys, just as other schools have done in the past. We'll cross that bridge when we get there. But I digress...
I can't WAIT to the playoffs!!! And to keep it as REAL AS I CAN...i hope to the heavens above that we face CHarter Oaks!!! And you all know why...especially you FArrar!!! BTW, we never recieved that "thank you" card for that victory over GLendora last year...you remember...the game won on the last play with what I like to call the "Pasadena connection." To quote Mel Gibson from "Ransom", "give (us) back (our) son(s)!!!"
LET'S GO STANGS!!!!!

So Hill Parent:Fan of the valley.
It's true, it's true our only loss was to Oceanside.
Since nothing is covered in the newspapers on passing league, you have to rely on the blogs. Maybe Fred will verify it with CO coaches. Honest it was for real...

haha im glad Olu's B's hung with our Jv team cuz our "1"s played the first 2 series haha
Posted by: Husky Pride | July 21, 2008 9:16 PM
SH Parent, ITS TRUE. Talked to students and parents. OL was knocked on there keesters. Crespi got cocky with a 20 point leed and Allen rammed it down their throat,

FredJ,
Can you please check to verify and confirm that Charter Oak's weekend is what they are saying because now my son is telling me that he talked to one of his friends who plays at C.O. and he said we beat Orange Luthern's "B" team a few weeks ago and Charter Oak beat their "A" team on Saturday. Truthfully, I am kind of skeptical that they could actually beat Crespi and Orange Luthern back to back on the same day regardless of if they really want to compare like opponents. If FredJ ignores my request could someone else please then enlighten me? Thanks...

Charger, I don,t mean to ignor the new guys, just don,t know their names yet. The CO line looks good but same problem , recognition.
Posted by: slaker | July 21, 2008 7:24 AM
The funny thing is EVERYONE thinks its just peri, williams, allen, rycraw coming back but you havent seen the NEW guys im talkin 6 athlets better then previous chargers like snowden and hunter!
GO CHARGERS!!

SH Parent.
Your right it was a typo. I meant our returning center, Matt Chan.

All You peeps calm down ,Passing leagues dont really mean Jack. it just shows what the skill players can do with out getting hit. I do beleive SH Dean, is the best D1 QB in the east SG valley , but there should be some surprises this year as we head toward the friday nite lights, I am not a Amat fan so to speak, But all you schools in the East San Gabriel Valley . Like CO , GH , SH, Remember this when Amat is Strong it makes our whole area strong, Good luck to all .and looking forward to Bloging with all you peeps. GO BULLDOGS !

slaker,
Thanks for the C.O. sportsmanship. Unfortunately, very seldom is that represented anymore especially on FredJ's Blog. You mention some good young men that came through our program that represented us well. I wish that was true of every athlete that was and is a part of our program but that's a different story. Anyways, you make reference to "Can" elaborate on who your referring to because either that was a typo or I have no idea who you mean. Best of luck to you also and no injuries. We want you alive and well, no excuses, when we play you in December. Let's just stop and imagine the game within our game like the Deens vs. the Allens, Perris vs. the Bowdens, and the Bogans vs. the Farrars. The game would be epic and one I envision the Valley would remember forever. Go Huskies!

Hey SH PARENT, good to hear from u! Hope we are fortunate enough to meet at post season. saw the SH CO 35zip To bad you lost David Snover for that game, still remember Brians play, two good guys. Last year u looked great. I think CO is better than last year with Peri, Williams, Can and Allen, Don't forget #16 ADAM M. Should be solid season and wish you luck and no injuries
Posted by: slaker | July 20, 2008 6:25 PM
Fred, nice to finally meet you, I like the new Southeast division too,
I think Muir & Arcadia will match up well with the Miramonte & the San Antonio wich makes things interesting, Santa Fe,& Schurr can be pretty good some years too, and I hear Alhambra has a couple of
studs this year. I also
think West Covina will make some noise in this division, in recent years the Bulldogs have started a new habit of
taking out a high seeded team in the playoffs, in 06 it was a 10 & 0 #1 seeded Mayfair, and in 07 it was #5 seeded Canyon, they seem to get tougher as the season progresses, hope they can continue this in 08.

Amat Decent Year
Three of those predictions I think might go the other way.
First, I believe that Amat might lose to Crespi and Notre Dame, enventhough I predicted that they have as good a chance as any to beat them this time arround, given that they have allot of tallent coming back.
Second, I think that they wil beat St Francis and possibly lose to Charminade. The reason I believe this is that St Francis is a really inconsitant group. A couple of years ago we played them and beat them eventhough they came into that game with a very impressive 5 game winning streak.
Third, Charminade is sort of complicated in a different way, because while they can have a great game (IE thier win against Canyon last year) they can also fall flat on thier faces as in our win against them a couple of years back.
I see it as a toss up year for Amat, but if there is going to be sucess, it has to be this year, because I don't see to much coming up the ranks the next several years.
We shall see however, because I often go and watch both JV and Freshman games when I have time, so i'll see just what we have in the tank for the next time arround.

Drove down to see how the charter oak chargers would do in there first tournament in the 08 season. I was very suprised on how well the chargers played. With allen leading the offense with rycraw an perri making big plays it came down to the defense shutting out orange lutherean an holding crespi on the last drive. Charter Oak looks very well coached with alot of athelets. Charter oak beat Crespi 24-21 and a orange Lu 27-0 SGV teams watch Out! charter oak looks unstopable on both sides of the ball!

evaluating teams based on passing league is somewhat like rating basketball teams on how their players did in a 3on3 tournament, or baseball teams by putting together over-the-line contests. gives you a clue-but not an answer
Posted by: reality czech | July 20, 2008 11:41 AM
Slaker,
I am not going to ignore your post. For several weeks now, I continue to come home and ask my son the same question. Have you heard any information about Charter Oak?
You have been so quiet this summer and then suddenly you show us those scores from this weekend. You beat Pac 5 (D-1) schools that are top programs in the California and contend with Oceanside who was one of our state champions last year and we are suppose to believe we are the only top team in the Valley.
I just truly believe at the end of the year the last two teams standing in our division will be us and you. That would be fantastic if we both were undefeated going into week 14. We remember too well the 35-0 annihilation and destruction of our program that awful night a few years ago and don’t think a moment goes by without us talking redemption. Honestly, my son beating you his senior year would be the best possible scenario for us personally.
Many times I have wanted to post comments and have an intellectual conversation but too many idiots won’t allow that to occur. Let’s try though and start by evaluating your team versus our team overall. My son says they probably have better skilled position players but you are more athletic on the offensive and defensive lines. Agree or disagree?
Congratulations on your weekend too! Always fun representing the Valley beating programs that are much bigger than us on paper until they actually have to play us. Can you imagine if we played each other this summer in passing league? WOW!

Hey all you non-believers, just heard about COHS at San Diego passing tournament. CO came up big with Rycraw and Perri scoring touchdowns and interceptions. CO won 5 lost l by the following scores: CO 27 San Clemente 7, CO 21 ElCamino 7, CO 21 Rancho Bernardo 7, CO 23 Crespi 20, CO 27 Orange Lutheran 0 and finally CO lost to Oceanside 33-13. Chris Allen was near perfect and his pass completion ratio was really high.

forget 6-4. its another 3-7 season for the under achieving amat program
Posted by: under achieving amat program | July 19, 2008 6:32 PM
Don
You got it right. The prediction is for Amat to lose that opener against Los Osos 31-22.
However, the reason I originaly asked who the other loss was going to be against, was because that first game was posted as an Amat win, instead of as a loss when I looked at it earlier this week.
Posted by: jcaz | July 19, 2008 2:26 PM
jcaz,
gotta be Loyola or Los Osos although I see those as, (and DR), as "evens".
I also like the chances against the Knights but think that Crespi and Oh Lu will be way too much.

how about glendora projected on calpreps predicted to go 9-1 good chance to win cif this next year.
Posted by: Anonymous | July 18, 2008 10:02 PM
I was looking at calpreps projections for this upcoming year and happened to notice that they felt that Amat was going to go 6-4 this year.
While it is strongly possible that they would lose to OL, Crespi and Notre Dame, I could'nt figure who the other team was that they felt Amat was going to lose to this year.
Anyone know which other team was projected to beat Amat ?
I for one feel that they have a very good cahnce of beating both Crespi and Notre Dame this year. The latter because they have very few returning players coming back this year on thier team, and the former because they played them very well the last two years, except for the second half of last years game.
Posted by: jcaz | July 18, 2008 9:41 PM
Trouble is that there is no St. Paul game this year.
More than likely in 2010.

AMAT vs st paul no doubt what so ever .The tension before this one is unreal. To lose means a whole year of misery.
AMAT vs WC or DR because they are firsts for both schools
AMAT vs Damien
