Just Tribbin, Still on Vacation

An open discussion, whoever and whatever you wanna talk about. I'm on vacation for another week, so use this thread for all you football chatter. Curious to know who looked the most impressive during the summer passing leagues, if everyone's still healthy and what are your predictions for the fall? Man, I can't wait till the fall.

LA Times veteran Eric Sondheimer wrote, "The semifinals of the Bonita tournament featured Valencia, Moreno Valley Rancho Verde, Bonita and Fontana A.B. Miller. In the championship game, Rancho Verde defeated Valencia, 42-12. Rancho Verde, coached by former Los Angeles Fremont Coach Pete Duffy, is loaded with college prospects, including running back Daniel Jenkins, linebacker Eric Martin, receiver Terrence Miller, safety Richard Spencer and receiver Kapeilie Pomee.
In the Conejo Valley tournament, Thousand Oaks won the top division championship, beating Palmdale in the final and defeating Canyon Country Canyon in the semifinals. Quarterback Ian Shultis and receivers Curtis Dempster, Bobby Mullaney and John Lister were the Lancers' top players. Westlake and Riverside J.W. North also won division titles.
In the San Bernardino tournament, Pasadena Muir won the championship, defeating Paloma Valley in the final.
Note: That would be the same Muir that will compete in the playoffs with our heavyweights from the Miramonte and San Antonio. I can tell you this, Muir started licking their chops after learning of the division realignment, they feel from a physical standpoint they can compete in this division, and with their athletes, that should put them over the top.

GURU JOKE IS PATHETIC

Yeah, you're right saying all these things. It hurts me so much I can sleep at night LOL

Guess the bomb will be coming soon!

Stop using so many names, its getting old!

How's Mommy? Living at home still?

GURU JOKE

What kind of low life, got nothing going on in your own life, pissed at the world jealous f**k are you?

"Down the bomb at the right time"? You are beyond pathetic. Is he that "important" in your lofe to embarass yourself with these drive by comments that have no purpose other than to irritate and instigate.

What's the matter? No hugs from mom, dad is a distant mystery, ir the Man upsyairs curse you with very "lttle" downstairs? It's so sad really.

You need more than just Coach James!

The proof will be supplied when the time is right..

I'll let him run his mouth a little bit more, blow his horn a little louder, and then lower the boom!

When you say Coach James who are you referring to and do you honestly believe that Coach Bogan would allow for someone on his staff to behave like this guy? Be careful where your going with these accusations unless you can support your claims with "real" evidence and proof? Right now your beginning to sound no better than him until you show otherwise!

Spawned in the Back of the Bleachers (AKA SGV GURU)

Still in the closet Coach James?

Getting under your skin?

Keep reading, its getting interesting! LOL

GURU JOKE as usual not only are you wrong about the aliases, NONE ARE SGVGURU/SCOUTING, by the way but you"re wrong about every damn thing you ever write. The back of the bleacher comment is in reference to your conception. Being the scumbag that you are you mut have that kind of anger issues that only come from being everyone's 'mistake"...mistake I know you, mistake i stopped to listen to you, mistake about everything connected to sports, mistake that you exist.

Now don't you feel better telling sgv guru YOU were wrong to blame him for other people's comments? Probably not? Scumbags NEVER admit when they are wrong, besides you like being an A-hole. Too bad everyone didn't "hit" datspot instead...you wouldn't be here would you? The only thing you would have been would have been a "fart" in the wind instead of a empty "windbag"....as far a "someone lighting up sgv guru"...why not you little man... too afraid to come clean? Go back to spreading rumors and being the Village idiot you so enjoy being.

Back Of The Bleachers Baby!/Mirror time/AKA SGV GURU

Put up or shut up! Now come out of the closet or bleachers and show everyone the resume.

Rumor out of SH is someone is ready to blow you up!

Stay tune!

GURU JOKE/HATER

Me thinkst you are bitten byst the reality mirror and it frightened you.

Nice to know the slipper fits Craperella.

Grow a set and show everyone your worthless credentials. And being the product of a back of the stadium bleacher initiation does qualify you for football legacy props. Just cuz every position was well represented does mean you know anything about the positions on the field.

Like the boyz say, "Ain't no fun til the homies get some!!!"

Put that in your hole shitzu talker.

Mirror Time

Mirror this a--hole!

Guru has NADA credentials or any guts to put up or shut up!

ANYBODY can watch games,go go to combines and write reports. Doesn't take much IQ to do that.

Bogan butt boy speaks again. Get your nose out of his a--

GURU JOKE- you are the only joke on here. Your jealousy of SGV GURU is bordering on childish. What do you care if he's wrong or whatever when in comparison to you at least he's enjoying himself and getting paid. You on the other hand just enjoy being a childish brat. Say someting that has a little credibility or somehow show you have some grasp of the game instead of mocking him for your personal a$$ hole of the year merit badge you so covet. Give it a rest. Besides the hate you show tels everyone you weren't very good if you even played t all. Which we both kow you didn't.

Don't get all excited about a passing tourney!

Not even close to the real thing....

Lets get the pads on, then we'll see...

No wonder SGV Guru comments on SH, that where he sits an watches Bogan day on and day out!

Hey sgv scouting one more question.

i heard Bevel didnt play the first 4 games, whats that about?? And also did Roddy's hurt foot/ankle slow him down at all?

Fred,
With all the talk about SH QB Deen in the last couple of weeks has he been offered at any D1 schools .

Well, as usual when they are in the tournament, SH's players showed up real well. If you go to the La Times HS page, you'll see Ify Umodu mentioned in the tournament story.

Greg Biggins of Student Sports Magazine, one of my best friends, is doing a story for espn.com on the tournament and was impressed with SH's Deen.

Vaughns and Roddy showed up well at CB and WR...but the whole team looked very solid.

Since SH was the only SGV team at the tournament, we'll open up our notebook to the IE for our impressions.

Really like Murrieta Valley Quarterback Lyle Negron. Big arm and has a nice arm and moves pretty good. Murrieta Valley also has a junior running back name Jordan Drake that we will be watching closely in 2009.

Centennial was....well Centennial. They recently got the best linebacker in the state for the 2010 class in transfer Brandon Brown. He's what we call "A Sunday player." Meaning he'll be playing on Sunday's in due time. At 6-3, 220 with a 4.6 40 at the national underclassman combine, you'll be hearing a lot more about this guy.

CC's Marvray and Burfict (Fight on USC fans) also looked good. This is a very fast team and guess who gets first crack at them when they scrimmage in September...South Hills.

We liked the Valencia junior wide receiver Tartabull. At 6-0, 190 he is one of the best route runners that we've seen all spring and summer. Since we don't do the Santa Clarita Valley, we only assume that he has good film for the colleges to look at. There is a story on the kid on the same LA Times story.

Barkley of Mater Dei looked good, but his receivers made his life a bit difficult in the morning with some dropped balls. But from a physical point of view...wow!

If there is a sleeper team to watch in the Pac-5 this year...it's Tesoro. They looked way better this year and look poised for a big run.

We're counting down to the end of summer ball. Lots of talent will be on display at SH Thursday with St. Bonaventure, Bishop Amat and Colton coming into Bogan's backyard. USC fans can get a up close look at future wide receiver Patrick Hall of St. Bonaventure, there is Colton's D-1 CB Nat Berhe and then there is Bishop Amat's Price, Bowens, Johnson and others.

Charter Oak makes it's final preparations for the fall with a weekend appearance in San Diego and we are looking forwarding to watching them on Friday. And then VACATION!!!!

hey sgv scouting who from south hills stood out at the tournament?

I watched south hills in every game they played yesterday and they just simply ran out of gas. They played a total of 10 players the whole time, in which 7 played both sides of the ball. They played well but just ran out of gas against Valencia

Wow !

That was an impressive performence by South Hills.

But I don't understand why, if they are on par with allot of the better schools, that they are dodging Amat during the regualr season ?

I for one would very much like to see such a game. It would be fun and exceiting, and there would be "sooooo much" trash talking, that this blog would have to run a section for that entire week dedicated to that game alone.

South Hills was eliminated in the Semifinals of the Battle of the Beach Tournament at Edison HS.

In pool play in the morning, South Hills went 3-0, defeating Tesoro 37-23, Murrieta Vallley 29-6 and Mater Dei 31-27.

In championship bracket play in the afternoon, South Hills defeated Orange Lutheran 28-8 before losing to Valencia 32-20.

Great showing by the Huskies. Good luck to Charter Oak next week as they head down to San Diego for the San Diego State Passing League Tournament...

that is true but the top players played last year and had good enough grades so they should be tough to win cif!
did narbone win it all?
was it close?
how lineman comp look?

As far as Muir goes they should be competitive
in this division vs the San Antonio & Miramonte top teams, but the problem with them is they seem to lose a bunch of players each year at playoff time, due to grades.

I was gone on vacation this whole week & just got back tonight [Saturday], looks like I missed a lot of passing league games.
Passing league nut,
I believe West Covina
has passing games on Tuesday & Thursday for most of this month, I missed this weeks games so if anyone can fill me in on how WC looked I'd appreciate it, I think they were scheduled to throw against D.Ranch & Monrovia was anyone there?

glendora went 6-1 made it to the semifinals lost to Narbonne

thats great upland and rancho showing some valley pride
how glendora do?
i went to the claremont tournment and it was great!bonitia is going be legit i believee!
the finals 4 was canyon versus muir and bonitia verus palmdale
muir beat canyon 28-6 there former qb from couple years age is now helping them
palmdale beat bonitia so the title was set!
it was a fast 10-18 point lead for palmdale! there qb was on fire!
also muir could not make the plays in the finals as they did against cc looked to be differnt plays dunno
but at the end with 3 min to go they called it off
because refs were scared they were going get a fught
palmdale was like tackling muir and thats not 7-7 there were pushing and shoving.
you can be tough but not tackle they muir guy 3 times in a row

Mission Viejo Passing Tourney: Last 4 teams, Upland Defeats Rancho Cucamonga, Mission Viejo defeats Long Beach Jordan.
Finals: Mission Viejo defeats Upland. Lots of offense in the 1st half of the finals, both defenses stepped it up in the 2nd half, 2 picks for Upland, 1 for MVHS. MVHS had no TD's in the 2nd half.

the red team must of been king i guess
did u guys make to second round?

thats funny Damien didn't even play palm springs today. Their D is dealing with some injuries right now nothing too serious though they should be ready to go come season. Went 2-2 beat King and Buena Park Lost to Hart and Crescenta Valley. Crescenta Valley is a really good "passing league" team. Damien was just too slow and tired when they played Hart. Still thats no excuse they could of played better. Offense looked better then they did at the Bonita tournament. Good luck to the rest of the teams in their passing league games.

damiean looked average today and got lucky to beat palm springs on last play!
there d needs to improve bad and qb is just ok
they will need taylor to have 500 all purpose to win there games because thats all they have
im probally going to watch glendora play tomrrow!
good 35 team tournment!
i think the favs for claremont are cc and muir!
it started at 8 not 2 but did see some games
we need reporters at edsion mission viejo and claremont! ill be at santa fe

Damien plays at 2 in the claremont passing tourney.

Re: The Davis Camp at Bonita High School.

If you are looking for a camp I believe Upland Pop Warner is sponsoring one at Upland High School on consecutive Fridays this month, 18th and 25th. The cost is $40 which includes a t-shirt and a Gatorade.

The camp is from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

The camp will cover basic football skills, and speed and strength.

The coaches will all be local high school and college coaches.

glendora playing in the santa fe tournment its starts i guess at 9 tomrrow

where's Damien and Glendora playing yhis weekend?

Here there is a tournament in Pasadena as well....anyon know the teams involved?

Bst of luck to everyone and "let's put the ball in the air!!!"

u sure don where u find this info?
write back asap

Claremont passing tourney starts at 2 PM tomorrow.

What had been a pretty quiet week got very interesting in a hurry...so here is the latest.

As some of you may have heard, UCLA had two of their 2009 corners decommit to other schools this week. Pollard of San Bernardino Cajon to Notre Dame and Byron Moore of Narbonne to USC.

So it was time to look on their board and last night UCLA offered Diamond Ranch's Brandon Sermons. They have also offered Upland cornerback Osahon Irabor. We'll get to him in a minute.

Back to Sermons. Sermons has been offered by every Pac-10 school except California, USC and Stanford. It was thought that Oregon State was the leader for his services with Oregon, Colorado and Arizona State right there in the mix. But with the Bruins coming in late on him in July, that changes everything up.

What will happen next? Sermons has stated publicly that he would like to take his trips and see what some of the schools that have offered him have to offer. However, don't look for UCLA to put up with that. Our feeling is that they will work extremely hard to get a verbal commitment out of him. And don't expect USC to enter the picture at all. They like to offer kids after seeing them at their camp and Sermons was a no show.

Irabor was thought to be going to Arizona State. But with UCLA offering him in the last 72 hours, it has made his decision that much more tougher. Our hunch is that Arizona State might just pull it out and get a verbal out of him. He is scheduled to make his decision public this evening.

Should be a very interesting next couple of days....very interesting.

can u plz post a scduhelle asap for the tournments this weekened?
starting tomrrow and what time it starts

Passing League Nut

Barbone did not have any surguries.

I spoke with him today at passing league. He pulled a hammy two weeks ago and will be back next week.

The guy is clicking in at 6' 198 and is a beast!

a lineman tournament is a tight competion for the big boys
tug of war, agitly competion(obstacle course), 10 yard 5 man sled push, fliping of a monster truck tire,185 bench press, and 1 on 1s

im not sure how many schools have lineman leagues but bonita starting one atrting tormorrow consisting of

agitly competion, 10 yard 5 man sled push, 1 on 1s, tug of war,
we were gonna have bench press but theres a linman tourn in Mission Viejo this saturday so were not doing that this week

and as for Niko im not sure any more one of my friends on the San Diams football team told me he had leg surgery but another one my friends on the San Diams football team told me he had shoulder surgery so i dont know which one but i can confirm he had surgery

Hey bearcat faithful what is a lineman league and what do they do. Also whats going on with barbone at san dimas.

I HEAR THERE IS A PASSING TOURNAMENT THIS SATURDAY AT ARROYO H.S. I KNOW B.P. IS THERE, ANYONE ELSE KNOW OF THE OTHER TEAMS AND WHAT TIME IT STARTS?

I was at the South Hills passing league today, and I liked what I saw. They threw the ball very well, and Umodu wasn't even there. Vaughns is proving himself during passing league but I haven't seen the kid in pads so I can't say anything yet. Bevel also did very well with Umodu not there he went to corner and they bumped Roddy to safety. Deen is also very good made nice reads today and threw very few bad balls. As for the rest of them team they are all solid players I didnt see a weak spot other than Umodu's replacement. This is a very very good team, to bad they have no depth what so ever.

why dont u guys cover lineman leagues or lineman competions there are lineman competion all over theres gonna be one on the 19th at chino hills with lots of schools from sgv theres one in misson veijo with lots of schools form sgv theres a lineman legue at bonita starting this week i think its San Diamas, Upland, South Elmonte, and one other school that slips my mind but thats only a lineman league and not a tournanment cover the linman tournys there the unsung heroes gives them some credit no oner talks about them but u cover all the wideouts

give the lineman some love

whats up with passing league games this weekend in santa fe, is it santa fe springs? or someother santa fe

passihg league today at south hills

south hills
upland
diamond bar
santa margarita

PASSING LEAGUE TODAY AT BALDWIN PARK FEATURING:

BALDWIN PARK

BISHOP AMAT

SOUTH EL MONTE

WALNUT.

Brigham Harwell was down at LA the first day of camp. He is a great kid, wish him the best.

Christopher, sitting on the bench is not playing with him. Keep telling that story until someone believes you. Here's a tip. Buy a round everytime he's on Monday Night Football at your local bar and eventually someone will say, "Hey Chris! THERE'S YOUR BBOYYYY!!!!"

I CAN SEE IT NOW!

WOW.....crazy how i played with Walter Thurmond in high school and now him being a potential NFL player is just crazy

I know that I am supposed to be a scout and keep everyone up to snuff about recruiting, but with the upcoming college football season around the corner, I just wanted to pass along a couple of tidbits.

Collegefootballnews.com has come out with it's pre-season teams and West Covina's Walter Thurmond has been named as a Top-30 player in the Pac-10 this year and was a pre-season first team All-Pac 10 selection at cornerback. Several NFL Draft website have Thurmond projected either a third or a fourth round pick if he decided to come out early this year.

Los Altos's Brigham Harwell has been named to the same publication's second team All-Pac 10 at defensive
tackle.

Charter Oak's Aaron Perez has been named second team all Pac-10 at punter.

Here's hoping that all the SGV guys playing college football this year have a great and healthy year.

Clarmont is loaded this weekend.

Muir, Diamond bar,Ayala,AB Miller, Hart, Bishop Amat,Bonita, and 3 other really good quailty teams that skip my mind right now. There are 30 teams total!

Who is participating in that touney ?

And, is it at Claremont high school ?

info thanks for fixing that my coach told us we start at 4 so i thought the whole thing started at 4

Also, some of the games for the Claremont tourney start in the morning ( 8:00 ). They have an am and pm breakdown.

Los Altos has a lot of work to do. They looked horrible at the Bonita tourney. The first day they were exposed by every team especially A.B. Miller. Losing Gano is not going to help them.

The Claremont tourney is this coming Friday and Saturday. Friday's contest should start in the early afternoon

theres another passing tourn at claremont this week on friday at 4 and sat at?

how do u guys think bonita gonna do this year i personally feel this is one of the best teams they have had in a while and might be better than the 2004 team that won league and how do u guys think SD is going to do and who do u think wil win the smudgepot SD at Bonita

yeah but yeah i want to hear the sgv feelings on these subjects so please respond

Ayone know the times and dates of ANY of the remaining passing league tournaments?

Any "positive" updates on Los Altos?

How about a top 3 RBs, QBs,O Linemen, D Linemen, LBs, WRs....just 3 that way we'll eliminate all the AYSO mentality that is always present on the blog.

BEST MEANS BEST!!

Anyone?????

We should expect anther deep run by CO and SH. They will handle their buisness with muir quite easily im expecting
