The countdown is on ....

Azusa opens the prep season with the lone Thursday night game at Ganesha on Sept. 3. It will mark the debut of coach Joe Scherf, who has been an assistant with the Aztecs for 12-years and most recently the offensive coordinator until Craig Schuster resigned, then re-emerged as the defensive coordinator at San Dimas. Several other new head coaches are preparing for their debut's, like Bishop Amat's Steve Hagerty, Sierra Vista's Keith Locklear, Nogales' Vito Saracino, Wilson's Greg Hoyd, and Los Altos' Felipe Aguilar. In terms of just winning, expect the Aztecs to do much better than 4-7 with 29 seniors back and a third-year starting quarterback in Andrew Gaeta. I'm starting to believe they're the Montview league favorites, and should start 3-0 with an opening schedule of Ganesha, Marshall and Mountain View. But let's rank how you think the first-year head coaches will fare ...

thats pretty bad how a team has that a team could brag about it and the sad thing is that they didnt do anything when it came to league they could even beat LaPuente or any other teams pretty sad if u want to brag win a darn championship then you could brag i went to LP just to let u people know

For one I don't agree with a few comments but it's ok. Running up the score has happened to all teams and players at one point or another, it's part of the game. So when it happens to you, and you get the chance to do it to someone, you really take that chance and run with it. I do agree that no one remembers 2nd place, but my point wasnt that we were "almost" winners, but that Duarte has made it further than Azusa ever will. Also Azusa wasn't our biggest conquest in our season, it wasnt a needed win, it was expected. Our big games were against Gladstone and LP. No team is perfect, and thats why we play the game. But like i have said before, it's what have you done for me lately. or in azusa's case what have you ever done for me? lol

Legend,
We will see what score will be soon enough. Contrary to your statement, Crutchfield did schedule South Hills this year.

There is a reason Crutchfield will not sign the contract to play schools like C.O or South Hills...cause he knows there is a chance the score might be reversed

81-0,
Any HS coach that runs-up score 81-0 should be FIRED!
He obviously doesn't give a damn about humiliating KIDS.
It's PATHETIC & REPUGNANT!!!

Hey Ghigh para siempre,
Put your big girl panties on and get over it... You guys should teach the boys how to play Football. All I heard was "Pobrecitos Nosotros".

DHS777 c/o9,
My memory is failing me. Who did you guys play in the 1992 CIF Finals?
Azusa Pride,
Keep up the enthusiasm. You guys just need to find another QB like Jack Ramirez. Do you remember him?

Yes, Duarte has demolished Ganesha the past three years-and received numerous penalties for taunting. The coaches were upset at Ganesha's principal for not hiring them there. At one point a Duarte player scored a touchdown and jumped over the fence in the end zone and lined up at the snack bar. You could tell the coaches loved this. It was amusing, except for the players on the field. High school football coaches should know not to run up the score on anyone. Makes me wonder why some people are coaching? You should never brag about beating a team 81-0 because it only shows you have no class and shouldn't be around kids period!

There is absolutly no character on this blog. The lack of education
I agree about the lack of Education. Some people can't even spell absolutely correctly.

You just proved everyones point in this blog. Azuza hasn't won anything in the last 30 yrs. Don't even get me started on basketball games and the 5 people in the stands. Please new topic, new team.

There is absolutly no character on this blog. The lack of education is obvious and sportsmanship is at an all time low. Just let the kids play the game and have fun.

why are we wasting all this blog space on a crappy team like azusa?? lets talk about something worth it
Posted by: azusa's a waste | August 27, 2008 10:03 PM
well, it seems that all the Azusa hype has gotten to this AZUSA PRIDE fellow. The thing with last year was a man by the name of Marco Negrete. Oh, but didnt he get hurt when he faced la puente? thats right. ur team was focused on one player. duartes team was focused on serious super stars. la puente was a unified team last year. azusa, well if 2nd place doesnt get remembered then 3rd place shouldnt even exist then. the only thing that they should watch out for is winning their weak schedule and pose a fight to basset, i believe they can hang with u guys this yr. ive been to their practices, ive been to urs, basset seems way more motivated than u guys seemed

FALCON MAN, did you win CIF division title those years you played???Lol! UUUUUUH NO!LOL. Oh yeah, your great accomplish was WINNING AZUSA! WOW!
And didn't you mention that Duarte almost won a title, and how you justified why they lost?
Well let me remind you about something! NO body gives a rats ass about second place, or better yet no body remembers who lost in the final CIF game! JUST THE WINNERS BABY!Lol
Maybe your just confuse and don't know what your talking about, because your still wondering how duarte LOST TO LA PUENTE!
YOUR NOT GIVEN A LEAGUE TITLE, JUST BECAUSE YOUR duarte (BFD) You must WIN! Lol...

im sorry to correct u but duarte beat ganesha 81-o
i just dont see azusa winning league this year.
basset had similar things going for them. they had a core senior group the last 2 yrs but still didnt improve. duarte takes it, if not for la puente to make another stunner

Aztec, i'm sorry to be the one to tell you this but if you have 29 starters returning that aren't that good, then your chances of winning this league are slim. Azusa is a doormat team. Duarte blew out Ganesha 67-0 last time they played them. so if you don't win 68-0 its all for nothing bud. I did play for Duarte, senior in the 98-99 season, and we rolled you guys all 3 years while i was on varsity. and maybe my freshman year too. lol. Just remember a lil math 0+0= 0. Remember that Duarte is much faster, stronger, and more talented than your powder blue boys. I bleed Falcon BLUE... well you said we don't put the school we back or where we're from so if there's anything else you need let me know. DHS c/o 99 #7 starting WR/RB/FS All League Defense. Thank you sir or ma'am. lol

Aren't you the same guy that was crying about Schuster leaving? BOO HOO!
Well at least when he left you, he left you with the softest schedule possible.
The combined record of the first 3 teams you play (according to maxpreps) from last year was 4 and 26. WOW can you say THANK YOU SCHUSTER you are not such a bad guy after all.
I agree with no mamas you guys would get beat by the West Covina Bruin Midget Team or at least that team is tougher than any of those first three teams you play.
By the way who is that fourth team Aquinas? Never heard of them before are they an 8 man team?
Also you keep talking about this #47 did he play aginst Gladstone last year because I saw that game and I do not recall a #47 at all. Did he get all his sacks last year agianst Ganesha? That power house of a team.

Here's another little ankle biter sharing his intelligence about AZUSA.
If you notice, the ankle biters don't put down the schools were they're from or what school they're backing.
They come in cowardly and share their IQ level, which is (0)!
So, No MAMAS, WHICH MEANS I blow myself in SPANISH!LOL... WATCH WHAT YOU SAY!

Azusa plays no one. Might as well play in powder puff football. West Covina Bruin Midget team will beat the Asstecs.

Fred you got it righ!t!! This is AZUSA'S YEAR! You forgot to mention AZUSA had the most Quarterback sacks in the league! #47 ARCEO!had 9.5 sacks and scored on offense!
Was nominated first team offense and defense for the Montview League. AZUSA's only player to be nominated for that!
He will dominate this year!
