Hoyd adjusting just fine
Wilson coach Greg Hoyd: "With the internet there's going to be accusations and even caused some administrators to ask what's going on in Wildcat country. But you deal with it and move on."
Wilson Athletic Director Dave Merrill: "You know what, he's like any new coach. He's eager, wants the best for his team and wants to prove his worth. You don't learn everything in a year. I don't care if you're 25 or 45, your first year is your first year. I'm sure he's stressed trying to cover all his bases. It's not easy. But I have an open line with him. We've had a lot of communication, and you take it from there."

HACIENDA HEIGHTS - It hasn't been the smoothest transition, but Wilson High School football coach Greg Hoyd is dealing with it.
Hoyd, who played college football at the University of Mississippi under then coach Tommy Tuberville, was hired to replace Robert Oviedo. It is the former linebacker's first high school head coaching job after several assistant positions throughout Orange County.
To continue reading, click thread
After graduating from Mississippi, Hoyd started his coaching career as an assistant at Crawford High in San Diego, then moved to Orange County in 2003, where he became a secondary coach at Rancho Santa Margarita.
Hoyd also was a defensive line coach for El Dorado in 2004, then became defensive coordinator at Anaheim Canyon in 2005.
He was defensive coordinator at Savanna in 2007 before becoming Wilson's next coach.
"I'm thrilled to be here, I really am," said Hoyd. "I love coaching football, this is what I've always wanted to do. Despite what you hear sometimes, everything's going pretty well."
It's not what's heard, but what's been written in cyberspace that has caused Hoyd headaches away from the practice field.
Internet chat rooms haven't been that kind to Hoyd, where he's been questioned about his coaching techniques, who he hired as assistants, his meetings with Wilson boosters and scheduling conflicts with neighboring pop warner programs.
"With the internet there's going to be accusations and rumors," Hoyd said. "It even caused some administrators to ask what's going on in Wildcat country. But you deal with it and move on."
Wilson athletic director Dave Merrill has been around a long time and understands the growing pains.
"You know what, he's like any new coach," said Merrill. "He's eager, wants the best for his team and wants to prove his worth.
"You don't learn everything in a year. I don't care if you're 25 or 45, your first year is your first year. I'm sure he's stressed trying to cover all his bases. It's not easy. But I have an open line with him. We've had a lot of communication, and you take it from there."
Hoyd tried making a good first impression by convincing school officials to go back to wearing the University of Wisconsin W's on its helmets, which is what Wilson wore when it won back-to-back CIF-SS Division VI championships in 1996-97.
But he's learning he can't please everyone.
"You know what, this is where I'm having fun," Hoyd said as he pointed at his players during a round of drills on Wednesday. "The administration part, getting angry phone calls, obviously that's not fun, but it's a part of the job than I'm learning. I've always just been a coach, but now I'm learning how to run a program.
"Am I going to make mistakes? Probably. Rome wasn't built in a day. I'm not going to pretend that it's easy, or I've got all the answers. But I'm learning and getting experience."
"I still talk to my old coach (Tuberville, now the head coach at Auburn) all the time. He said not to worry about all the distractions, just win. He says when you win, everything else falls in place."
As the Wildcats inch closer to their Sept. 12 season opener at home against Sonora, everything seemed normal at practice.
"We're fine," highly touted running back Tim Gilmore said. "All that stuff you're hearing about Wilson, none of it's true.
"Just go out and watch a practice. We're a family out here working for each other. That's what it's all about and that's what coach (Hoyd) has been preaching since he came here."
Senior fullback Brian Snodgrass echoed those sentiments.
"We really don't care what anyone else is saying, we're here to play football," Snodgrass said. "We have a goal to win a (Miramonte) league championship like anyone else. I don't care if someone laughs when I say that, that's the goal and we believe it, so we'll see what happens."
The Wildcats are coming off a modest season in 2007, in which they finished 6-6 and advanced to the second round of the CIF-Southern Section Southwest Division playoffs.
But with the loss of several graduating seniors, especially on the offensive and defensive lines, Hoyd started his tenure by making the weight room a priority.
"We got a lot bigger on the offensive line," Hoyd said. "I kept them away from the field as much as I could all spring and summer. Even when guys were dead tired, they kept at it. They pushed through and showed their toughness, and now they're bringing that to the practice field."
Until recently, Hoyd had refused to watch film of Gilmore, arguably the best returning running back in the San Gabriel Valley.
Gilmore rushed for 1,978 yards and scored 26 touchdowns last season. He averaged 164 yards and nearly 200 all-purpose yards a game.
"Since some (college) coaches have been asking about him, I thought I'd pull out some tapes and watch," Hoyd said. "I know he's talented. I know what everyone's saying about him, but we can't expect him to be the life saver. We've got to do this as a team and Tim is buying into that. It's no secret he's a huge part of what we're going to do, but for us to win, you need everyone buying into the game plan, and that's been my focus."
And what are the expectations?
"I know it's a cliche, but one game at a time," Hoyd said. "I don't know how many games we're going to win, but I know that we're going to walk out on the field expecting to win. If not, then why even bother showing up?"

Why was the Wilson player arrested?

Hot Off The Press;
Of course you won’t here this from Fred. All the seniors walked off the field at practice today at Wilson High School. They refused to practice due to Coach Hoyd’s comments to the police, based on these comments one of Hoyd’s players got arrested. Yesterday Hoyd gets the President and Vice President of the booster club remove. Today he pisses off all the players. This is the guy that Fred asked us to give a chance. Well now we have given him more than a chance and he still can’t make the wrong decisions.

Gilmore should go City Football and play up in L.A... a Garfield, Wilson or Roosevelt would take this transfer. What is the rules from going from CIF to City?
Posted by: Get out of Dodge | September 3, 2008 4:35 PM
If I was Gilmore and Bishop would take me I would make the move in a second. If Gilmore is really interested in playing at the next level it is going to take a Bishop Amat to get him their. Don't forget the scount was talking about Gilmore not performing well against top teams. Gilmore couldn't perform well aginst those teams because he had no line. This year Wilson's line is smaller and lacking the coaching that last years team had. Over at Wilson the kid is just going to get hurt.

No technicality at all. Rules are rules and they're there for a reason. And there is no hidden agenda at all. Amat rarely (never?) accepts senior transfers, especially in a public to private transfer. Believe it or not, that road has been traveled and the door was closed. Quickly. You see Amat values the diploma they issue and want to make sure a student has *earned* it. If anything a Gilmore transfer could hurt Amat, if the rumors of looking into Diamond Ranch were accurate... and I tend to believe they were.
I just want people to understand the rules and not listen to those that don't know or understand them.

Joe
Are you saying he exploit a technicality in the CIF rules? You have a hidden agenda. You might as well just say he should go to amat. Shame on you again!
Posted by: shame on you again joe amat | September 3, 2008 2:49 PM
For knuckleheads like you that's why I started AND finished with "...not suggesting that this is a solution..." teh move was suggested prior to me posting that and I was pointing out the incorrect interpretation of the rules by "The People Speak " who said, "...Well Hoyd isn't as stupid as he looks. Gilmore started school on Wed. Aug. 27th and Uncle Bob was forced out of the booster club on Sept. 2nd. Per CIF rules Gilmore is now stuck at Wilson, he can't go to another school and play football..."
The truth is, according to CIF rules - he's not stuck. No player is.
By allowing an incorrect statement to be made without correction we are perpetuation the very myths, old-wives-tales, and urban legends that knuckleheads like yourself continue to spread because you read it somewhere on a blog or heard it in a booster meeting. That ignorance is what ends up screwing kids in the long run.
Posted by: Joe Amat | September 3, 2008 2:21 PM
Plenty of kids transfer mid-year.. even mid-season and I've seen hardship transfers approved for far less. Again - not suggesting that this is a solution
Shame on you joe amat. You are doing just that suggesting he make a move. You have hit an all time low.
Posted by: Joe Amat has hit an all time low | September 3, 2008 1:59 PM
Lets be real about this, Gilmore needs to look out for Gilmore. Hoyd don't give a rats a@@ about what is best for Gilmore or any other kid on that team. He has made that perfectly clear from day 1. When all Hoyd would talk about is he had three kids coming into the program that are faster and smarter than Gilmore. Well eight months latter, all Hoyd has is Gimore and he is holding on to him with a string.
As we can all see the issues at Wilson all circles around Hoyd. The booster club don't like him, school administration doesn't support him, his AD wouldn't say one positive comment about the guy, and he doesn't get along with the local youth football program. Now we have the President and Vice President of the booster club voted out by Hoyd's clan.
I am sure that the school administration has already decided that Hoyd is gone after this year, but the damage that Hoyd has done to Wilson football program will take years to recover from.
It is so said that one person can cause so many negative issues within a community. How does this man sleep at night.

Gilmore,
Focus on your education get into a good JC like Mount SAC. Look at Craft from UCLA. I would not play for Hoyd it is only going to hurt you mentally & Physically. Your competition will simply attack you to stop Wilson. I hope your ready to get pounded.
Tell Hoyds thanks but no thanks. SEE YA

The whole "he's 18 he can move anywhere" thing is just another one of the myths, old-wives-tales, and urban legends regarding CIF Rules that get thrown around by people that *think* they know.
The Rule Book clearly states in the transfer laws after all of the restrictions to gaining eligibility that
"...This Bylaw also applies to students 18 years of age or older and emancipated minors..."
CIF was wise enough to close that loophole.
Posted by: Joe Amat | September 3, 2008 10:57 AM
Gilmore is 18 years old and can rent a room from anyone, anywhere and change residence. Not that I am suggesting it, but Hoyd likes to play games, play one on him.
I heard Hoyd was complaining to the school that his family reads this blog and they are upset about what is being said about him. Hoyd creates 99% of the issues that the community has with him. This is another example of the issues Hoyd create in the community.
The Wilson program is a mess, the administration is giving full control to Hoyd with no real check and balance.
Hoyd I have another question, why is their an entry for uniforms for the players when the school has already paid for the uniforms. Why is the booster club paying almost $1,000 for cloth for the coaches, must be nice. Must be nice that the booster club is spending almost $1,000 on gifts for the coaches. I don't have the budget infront of me but I will be posting the complete budget when I get home. By the way you are none profit so this information should be available to the public. Hoyd how much money are you going to take from the community before you leave?
My recommendation to all, if you want to support the program donate items to the teams, don't give money because it is going to end up in Hoyd's pocket.

Sounds like a whole bunch of bitching over there coming from the ladies. Football is a mans game stay out of the politics and go clean the Snack shack and tally up the sunflower seed inventory. Let this coach , coach. It is a program for the HS where the heck you get off placing the POP Warner politics into it is plain stupid. It is HS ball they play under the lights and I dont care if you have 25 kids on your varsity roster you hope for the best and you support your coach and kids and if you cannot... get out early and go play somewhere else, dont wait til the last minute then start your bitching when you could have left early knowing you were not happy. They were not ging to fire Hoyd based on a bunch of Cackling hens. I dont see Nogales having these problems and they have a squad of 25 young men ready to go to action. TOO MUCH DRAMA FROM THE MOMMAS. Sounds like the dads need to get involved more.
Posted by: Give it a rest already | September 3, 2008 9:57 AM
Well you cant say that the Gilmores did not see this coming or that they did not have plenty of time to transfer. Put up or shut up now... or quit or sanction the CIF for a reinststement at another school to play for. Wait til the last minute and you are screwed. The squeeky wheel gets the grease. What Mess over HH.
Posted by: For Goodness Sakes settle it already | September 3, 2008 9:44 AM
Well sure, that would work ... or ... you could just contract with Price Waterhouse or Arthur Anderson like you always have to oversee and audit every last nickel you spend and raise. I'm sure your impeccable bookkeeping department would be delighted to demonstrate their acumen to outside professionals.
Hey, and about those safe and sane fireworks. You guys do manifest due diligence in ensuring none of those sparklers and pinwheeels make their way over the La Puente city line into Hacienda Heights where they are prohibited, don't you?
I knew that a kiddieball organization like yours that is all about the kids would never be anything but good neighbors.
OK, back to the garage, the candy bars are melting.

The People Speak,
I'm not suggesting that this is the solution, but to your point regarding transferring, school starting has nothing to do with transfer eligibility for a senior. As before, the only way Gilmore, or any transfer, could be eligible is to have a valid change of residence OR prove a hardship - which actually could be aided by the confrontational environment he and his family have now been put in and proving it could hurt his psychological well-being.
Plenty of kids transfer mid-year.. even mid-season and I've seen hardship transfers approved for far less. Again - not suggesting that this is a solution.
Posted by: Joe Amat | September 3, 2008 9:04 AM
Don,
I am assuming that the wifes and girl friends profit goes into Hoyd's pocket, like most of the other profit that the booster club has been making.
By the way what is this about not paying the proper amount of taxes on the firework sales. What since your were not non-profit up until a couple of weeks ago the booster club figures they don't have to pay taxes on the sales. In taking a quick glance at all your paperwork I didn't see any numbers on the profit of the firework stand. Was their any profit, with all the back door freebie to the coaching staff and the big party one of the board members had.

Two snack bars.
That's right, run two snack bars and let the market decide. Adam Smith would be proud. (No, Adam Smith wasn't a Bishop Amat DE in 1981.)
Let the booosters run one and let the wives and girlfriends of the coaches run the other. I bet the chow would improve overnight.
OK, now you kiddieball folks get back out to the garage and get that Airhead inventory finished.

Everyone needs to realize, Uncle Bob wrote this letter as the President of the Booster Club, trying to work with Hoyd. Since he has been force out, now he is going to tell you what is really going on over their.
What I find real interesting is why did Hoyd force Uncle Bob out the first meeting after school started. Well Hoyd isn't as stupid as he looks. Gilmore started school on Wed. Aug. 27th and Uncle Bob was forced out of the booster club on Sept. 2nd. Per CIF rules Gilmore is now stuck at Wilson, he can't go to another school and play football.
Now I understand why Merrill wants nothing to do with Hoyd, Clegg put the school in a no win situation with Hoyd. I understand that the school administration needs to support Hoyd, but do you realize what that is making you look like. Wilson's freshmen program has 20 kids and Los Altos's freshmen program has 90 kids. What message is the community sending you. Simple math 35 of those 90 kids should have gone to Wilson. Merrill also knows that some of the best football players in the area are on the Wilson side, and planned on going to Wilson. But, due to the hiring of Hoyd they all but one went to Los Altos. Now Wilson is going to take even a bigger hit next year. Hoyd will get numbers, but he isn't going to get the players.
Posted by: The People Speak, and Hoyd doesn't listen | September 3, 2008 7:37 AM
I heard the Hoyd told Uncle Bob that Wilson is not going to be built around Gilmore. That Gilmore would be watching more plays than he would be playing. This Hoyd guy is a joke.
We all have to realize, all these different people making these comments. They all have one thing in common, they started from Hoyd. Can't trust the guy, and I would never allow my child to play for him.

Below is a letter written by Uncle Bob, at the time President of Wilson Booster Club;
“August 25, 2008
Letter from the President of the Booster Club Wilson High School;
This letter is regarding the gathering we (Booster Members) had on Wednesday, August 06, 2008; time approximately 6:30 p.m. The Boosters met to discuss what and who was going to purchase and prepare food for the luau for August 15.
The gathering took place at Teresa and Manual Chavez’s home. Prior to going to the gathering, I spoke to Teresa. She asked me if the gathering was an official meeting. I told, NO. We are only going to talk about and take care of matters regarding the August 15th BBQ.
All went well, until Coach Hoyd entered the gathering. Coach Hoyd wanted to declare the gathering as an official meeting. At that time, again I said no! Coach continued, trying to declare the gathering as an official meeting. I told him he had no right trying to do that.
In several of his statements that he made was very alarming to me. He wanted to remove me as the boosters’ president and Don Consiglio, as vice-president.
Then he offered me the football president position. I took offense to this, because, he gave me an alternate. “If I take the football president job, he will get me the snack shack back”. At that time I asked the boosters if anyone had anything else to say regarding the August 15th luau. They said no. I dismissed everyone and I left.
On August 12, 2008, boosters met for our regular (official) meeting. Everything was going well, until Coach Hoyd joined the meeting. Members asked Coach Hoyd if we had the snack shack back. He stated that if I would remove Lori Ramirez who was assigned to be head of the snack shack, we will get the snack shack back.
He asked me and Don Consiglio to go outside. Outside he continued the same old saying. I told him, we need a person like Lori Ramirez to be over the snack shack, because she comes with experience, knows what to buy and the needs of children and the people in the community.
The Coach’s action over the pass month is very appalling to me. I hope this matter is dissolved very soon.”
As of about 2 hours ago Uncle Bob is now the X-President of the Booster Club, Hoyd and his clan forced Uncle Bob and Don (Vice President) out of their positions on the board. This was a Hoyd’s move to take control of the Booster Club and all funds. I have also been handed every documents having to do with the booster club, with many very questionable expenditures. Hoyd may have control of the booster club, but he doesn’t have control of the IRS.
Posted by: The People Speak, and Hoyd doesn't listen | September 2, 2008 9:41 PM
I don't understand why you people don't read the comments. We are not upset with winning or lossing we are upset with the person, his character, and his goals as a head coach. Hoyd over the last seven years has had questionable references at best. Seven High School jobs in seven years, sucessful coaches don't skip from one school to another. Sucessful coaches don't forget to list one of the schools that they coached at. Why would you drop one of the schools off your resume? Sucessful coaches don't get involved with Pop Warner teams that are know around the nation as the team that cheated. What is Hoyd's response to the Tustin team that he was an assistant coach on cheating. The other coaches were the ones cheating, he wasn't involved. Then he comes over to the Heights and starts telling all the kids he's got championship rings. What championship rings? Unless he is talking about the one championship the cheating Tustin Pop Warner team won the year before. We are told by Orange Country Youth Board Members of youth about Hoyd, watch the money. What happens Hoyd comes over to Wilson, for the first five, six months Hoyd is more involved with the money than the players. It took over six months to get Hoyd out of the money and even then he still has the money going through him when possible, even though he was told stay away.
The character of this person is in question, is this the type of person you want your child to look up to. I can't bring up the other issues but the parents of the football players on this Wilson team are aware of many of the current issues. Someone has raised enough concern that the district has removed the two younger kids that lets say had some major legal issues. It would be best for them to stay in Orange County.
Posted by: The People Speak | September 2, 2008 2:23 PM
what kind of success are you wilson people expecting considering you haven't had a winning season in at least 5 years?
Posted by: question | August 31, 2008 9:50 AM
Winning will shut everyone up. But we are not talking about La Puente and Rowlands. We are talking DB, SH, Bonita, etc.... We are talking league games. Hoyd made it prefectly clear that he has a easy preseason schedule. According to Hoyd he should go undefeated into league play. Anything less is a failure!!!!!!!!!!!
One other comment, about the kids being sold on the weight room. I was at the field just about everyday during the summer, four or five of the kids are sold on the weight room, not the team.
Hoyd, you need to realize adding a bunch of kids the first day of school is going to make the program look good, but lets see what these kids do on the field. This program is ging to get lite up this year, another 1 season and out for Hoyd.

again, learn to read. i am not sevendeuce. you are a loser with an axe to grind. you have no football knowledge and no one takes you seriously. wilson football has been terrible long before hoyd got there and it will continue to be terrible long after he leaves. the reason has more to do with losers like you who like to come online and post ignorant crap anonymously like a coward. you have no credentials to criticize anyone's football practice loser. what exactly is your football expertise? probably none.
Posted by: WTH=POS | August 29, 2008 4:33 PM
You're right WTH...I, along with 95% of the people that post here (including youself) know nothing about football.
But given that fact, how the heck is a reporter supposed to report on the environment of a practice? What the F do you really want to know?
If you have ever been around the game other than as an observer (and we're not counting pop warner here), then you would know there are good days and bad so how does reporting on one particular day of practice represent everything for that football team? Is that what you want him to say...their practice wasn't intense and organized, therefore they will suck this year.
WTH - I will give you the name of a coach whose practices are very loose, undisciplined and in a funny sort of way can best be described as controlled chaos to the naked eye, yet his record speaks for itself - Don Markham
The bottom line WTH is your request of Fred is stupid.
You need to spend more time pre-ordering hot-dogs, hamburgers and nacho cheese for the booster club tent this coming season and let the coaches and players take care of the stuff on the field.

WTF%&* WTH,
You must have no clue about sports. Practice is the single most important thing any team does. If you are reporting the status of a team you must be able to observe their practice an create an opinion.
Have you seen their practice?
You must be one of those people that only watch the player with the Ball. It takes a team to win in football.
Posted by: WTH | August 29, 2008 3:19 PM
While you're at it Fred...
Please tell us about which flavor Gatorade they like to drink when their helmets are off.
How about letting us know which picture packets each of the kids on the Wilson team will be buy.
Or I would really like to know your opinion (rated on a scale of 1 to 10 of course)if you think that they should be doing team stretch in 6 lines or 8 lines.
At the very least Fred, please interupt practice next time you are there and ask the coach if he can crank up the intensity on the hitting drill so you can print something good about the drill.
BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW THIS IS THE TYPE OF STUFF YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO REPORT ON WHEN YOU VISIT A SCHOOL FRED!
PLEASE FRED - BECAUSE EVERYONE IN THE SGV IS REALLY DEPENDING ON THIS TYPE OF INFO BECAUSE IT WEIGHS HEAVILY IN THE LOCAL HS FANTASY LEAGUE ALL THE PARENTS PLAY IN.

Your being to biased by reporting only Wilson's opinion on the current status of the team.
It would be like asking the owner of a GMC SUV, is the price of gas hurting your wallet? versus asking the owner a Toyota Prius the same question.
They both have different views.
What is your opinion since you must see tons of teams practing.

I have two sons attending LA but have numerous friends that have kids going to Wilson. At this point...everyone at Wilson and LA think that what you are trying to do is a joke! Grow some Ba##s, and talk to the coach in person! Other wise...just give it up already!

sevendeuce,
of course wth can't tell you what makes them weak and how and why things should be done differently. all he knows how to do is complain. he thinks that coming onto a blog as an anonymous hater helps wilson football. he is obviously a loser with no life and no knowledge of football. i also suspect that he is a racist who can't stand to see an african american succeed as a coach.

sevenduece,
Have you observed their practice? If you think they are good I encourage you to travel to the other local schools in area and see what they are doing.
The other teams have been practing much longer than Wilson, They have no kids walking around on and off the field. The tackling drills are much more aggersive.
Look Around do not get fooled by mirage.

Yeah a report, covering sports you should have knowledge of the sport yes? Do you have any comment about there practice in comparison to the other programs in the area? WC,LA,SH,AMAT etc..
Practice tells you everything about a team.
Practice is single most important thing in any sport.

WTH
are you an ex-high school or college coach? are you a recruiter? i'm just wondering what your credentials are that would make you an expert on football, it's techniques and procedures. you've made the comment several times that the drills are weak... can you explain what makes them weak and how and why they should be done differently? i'd just like to know that you are qualified to render such judgements.

Like I have said in the past, Fred will never report that information. I'am not sure if he is clueless, job security or flat out scared to report the truth.
I have to date not heard a single positive comment about Hoyd's coaching ability from another coach, at least 20 negative comments. You should here what the Orange County coach's say about him. If I put it on the blog Fred will delete my entry.

Track practice? I'm a reporter, not a scout or college recruiter.

Fred J. Robledo,
I have one question did you observe their pratice? If you think things are good, you have no business tracking football. Kids are walking around, some have there helmets off, they use a quarter of team fielding balls for kicking, There hitting drills are very week.ETC.......

Since we have meet with the school administration you haven't heard a word from our organization.
What I don't understand is why you are trying to make this a HLP thing. This has been going on for months, and it was very clear that it was your booster club vs. Hoyd. The names were through all over this blog.
HLP should be the feeder program for Wilson, but comments like yours are why the HLP kids are going to Los Altos instead of Wilson. The parents at HLP were very upset with the way the Wilson Program (Hoyd) treated them. Now the school administration has stepped in and taken control of the situation in a very positive way. Your comments are negative and are only going to affect the Wilson program in a negative way. Bottom line, the HLP kids are the core of our local youth talent, if those parents don’t like what they see at Wilson they are taking their kids to Los Altos. The first impression wasn’t a good one (Hoyd).

If you really, REALLY only care about the kids - then quit trying to sabotage the program. It is what it is, get on board and try and make YOUR KID'S expeience this year - a good one - IF that is all you really care about.

good luck hoyd,
We all know where all this hoyd crap started up, the Wilson Booster Club and Hoyd not getting along.
When Hoyd started causing problems for HLP (a couple of weeks ago) that is when HLP got involved. All we care about is our kids, leave us out of all of Hoyd's games.

As an outsider it seems sad to say that is what this blog can do coaches and players nowadays. I have followed this thread just to see how awful and vengeful someone can get - this is one or two people that have a HUGE AX TO GRIND with Hoyd. It is NOT a large group as you can tell the content is always the same. It seems to stem from the pop warner group and again SHAME ON whomever is leading this attack. You might want to check yourself. it is not productive in the least an actually quite cowardly! Again, I have no vested interest but as a coach - I wish Hoyd the best of luck and it's too bad this forum has allowed this attack. Good luck and pay no attention to the junk - but pay attention to the important people around you...that is the kids, the school and to an extent their parents..

This was a good article. Coach Hoyd seems humble and honest about his new job. Considering all the trash talking about him, remains confident in his team. As a league rival. I wish him the best of luck, just not against us! Hopefully his team parents will give him a shot and prove to be a winner. I agree with his former coach. Winning will shut them up. Good luck coach!
