09 Baseball going to be the bomb. Northview returns a ton and has more pitchers than you think to take over, including Big Ed Pedroza. Big question is who fills the shoes of these studs in 2010 and 2011? This program puts out players. Congratulations to Aaron Elias and Rich Pedroza on the scholarships. Good luck to the 09 class and go get another ring.

Covina Colts have gone undefeated so far at the world series playoffs. They are now 4 - 0. They will be playing Puerto Rico in the semi-finals. Winner of that game goes to the Championship.
This is a once in a lifetime experience for the whole team!!

Fred, I noticed that the Covina Colt All Star team out of Hollenbeck is in the Colt World Series and has reached the semfinals. I was wondering why the paper hasnt devoted more coverage to this?

Great news for these two young men, and further proof of the quality of baseball being played in and around the Miramonte and Valle Vista leagues.
Congrats to Aaron & Rich and their families.

Congrats to both of these young men and continued success.
Fred, I just looked up the colt world series and I see that the Covina team is 3-0 and in the championship round. This team from what I understand is well represented by Bishop Amat, Northview, South Hills, & San Dimas. Really great to see!

Is this true? this is so typical of Coach "Gonzo" the players are the last to know, that's B.S. man.
Posted by: player | August 9, 2008 9:05 AM
YES, YES, YES! please say, it's true. "Gonzo" needs to go! he has lost the passion to coach. He should of left years ago."Gonzo" didn't want to be bothered by his players or their parents, D.B. needs a mature man to lead the team, not a washed up former athletic that was still dreaming of his glory days. Best news EVER!

Scroll down and Fred mentioned Eric Shibley is the new brahma baseball coach. Someone mentioned that Rich Gonzales will be a grade level coordinator.
