Training Camp: Bonita feeling good

Miramonte League contender Bonita opened its high school football camp of two-a-days on Friday. We caught up with head coach Eric Podley and quarterback Terry Paradez, who were happy to jump in front of our video camera and talk about their expectations. By the way, for a first practice, it was extremely organized and lively. I've got a good feeling about these Bearcats, but still can't convince myself they will do better than third in the Miramonte behind Charter Oak and Diamond Ranch. Bonita has added former San Dimas defensive coordinator Adrian Medrano, who is now the Bearcats special teams coordinator. Over at San Dimas, Medrano was replaced by former Azusa High coach Craig Schuster. Also joining Podley's staff is wide receivers coach Hector Mendoza, who came from Upland, and Tony Arreola, who moved over from Rowland.
Note: On Monday, we visit Charter Oak bright and early.

El Rancho
I look this blog because my close family friend is a los altos reciever and I saw Adrian Medranos name and wondered if it was Boomer from El Rancho. I hope it is cuz I knew that kid since he was a little PR Don and always thought he was bad ass and played with Blue Pride. He was a true leader that earned much respect. Bonita got a good coach, I just wish he was at the ranch. Maybe we will see him in the playoffs. Good luck Boomer

Bonita thread? Yes it was.
But as you can see even in rebuild year LA still has fans, loyal fans.
We are always armed with a traveling arsenal of 12th man at away games.
BTW, since this is a BoHi thread, I'll give a smudgepot prediction:
IF Nico is stopped after halftime adjustments:
BOHI 49, SD 27
IF Nico was well-prepared for and contained after first couple series:
BOHI 45, SD 14

Mr. Lopez - the kids that you saw working out are the LA QB's the shorter kid was LA's QB in 06 & 07 and is know the Starting QB at Whittier College the thin lanky kid don't recognize but is not an LA football player must be a workout partner and I agree with you they both have strong arms and and they run good drills.

Joe Conq & LA Alum,
I seen both LA QBs practicing last Saturday at HS field -my kids JAA team had practice same place & time.
I'm not sure which is which; one is tall & lanky the other is short, but both have strong arms and look crisp running their drills.
With a new coach I'm glad their is no DRAMA coming from LA...ie Wilson.
This week I'm going to wander over to their evening practices and check them out....

LA's defense is going to be their strength this year. QB they have Dmitri Longoria and that's about it, they really don't have a backup. So the O-line really needs to protect this guy. At running back they have Ramirez and Yamakawa these to guys are a great tandem. They have another fullback can't remember his name but he's good too. You might be hearing alot of completions this year from Longoria to Longoria. That's because Dmitris little brother is at wide receiver and has great hands for sophmore. I think LA will be a big surprise to all in the Miramonte league.
Good luck guys!!

Fred, or anyone that knows,
Just heard about this blog. What's Los Altos looking like this year? Who's the QB and RB these days, and how do they look? Is our defense still lights out?
Thanks!
