You must be kidding. This happened not more that 3-4 years ago. Maybe I am mistaken about the 2 games.I think that was when Farrar had second thoughts and cancelled the second game . I am sure alot of people wished we would have played each other this year. Because afterall to be the best you must beat the best. Then we could put to rest all this about who is number one. Good luck the rest of the season and maybe we will see a game between AMAT and CO in the future .

This goes out to all of you South Hills fans...your team is over rated. As always, your line is the only difference maker....you poke fun of the mid valley division teams...but the bottom line is....the only thing you have always had going was your line defensive and offensive line...a lot of teams are either much better or simply better than your team at any other position....ask your coaches to take average players and make them great and to make great players excellent....they cant...they are used to coaching players who have everything handed to them...players who have access to special trainers, camps, programs...etc...need I say more? Like I said earlier, the only thing you have is size on the line...if the were evened out...then your butts would be getting blown out by teams like San Dimas and South El Monte. Period.

Well i made this point in another blog topic eariler. But i have seen many of the teams in the MID-Valley...and the truth is these teams and leagues were realigned for this reason. TO GIVE ALL THE SCHOOLS A EQUAL PLAYING FIELD!!! Now some can not seem to understand that. Azusa , Rosemead, South EL Monte, San Dimas, Northview, Cerritos Valley, Workman, these schools are all roughly the same size and have the same amount of talent except and few schools here in there get a few more players. I have seen schools like San Dimas have to PLay Oaks Christian!! Now is that FAIR?? I dont think so. Or teams traveling 3 hours to play a game. The CIF got it right. Give all the schools that compete a chance to play on a level field. I mean thats why there are Divisions. Imagine a IA college team like USC playing NAIA APU just cause there were close. That is stupid and unfair cause of the size and talent pool. Just like it is to ask San Dimas to play Oaks Christian.

But this is my take on the MID VALLEY>>>

1.San Dimas is legit...best team in MID-VALLEY..good oline and Dline. Barron is nice..but i like Joseph he is a game Changer.But there romp in the MID-Valley wont be easy..I have seem most teams in this divison play. Rosemead and SELM.from the MVL Have great offense. Rosemead has a good defense as well. SELM needs to sure up the D to make noise. But if that QB#11 and WR #7 get it going no DB in the Mid Valley can guard him one on one.Azusa and Workman from the Montview and yes Workman...they have a good running game and well keep games close and there defense is actually the best in the league. Azusa has a good QB that makes big plays for them and there deeper than most think. Duarte has a lack of depth that i think will hurt them in the end. From the VVL Northview has a great defense but there offense has yet to show what it can do. I seen them in Passing league and there best players were there Wide-outs..But yet they run more than pass. There coach needs to let his playmakers loose. And Baldwin Park has a great D. like always but injuries to the QB have cost them. I have yet to see the OLY> teams but i have seen C.Valley and Parclete that last 2 years so i know they will be tough. I think the Mid-Valley will be a great Play-off. Lots of evenly matched teams. There will not be big blow-outs. There will be good football through out. As a fan of the lil--guys i cant wait to see this one play out...

If anyone seriously thinks Azusa can compete with San Dimas that's absurd. And to compare South Hills and Azusa players is even more ridiculous. Please just go play your Varsity a.k.a. J.V. Mid-Valley Division football and leave the real football for us big boys. I mean seriously is anyone from San Dimas going to be proud of their C.I.F. Championship when your playing teams like Monrovia and San Marino in the Semifinals and Finals. South El Monte and Pomona are ranked in your top ten. Wow! To all of the Aztecs reading this, don't worry about all the things that these people are putting down about the players from Azusa not being able to make a scout team on SH or CO. You guys take what you are good at and use it to your advantage. Same as every team in the Southern Section. And I know for a fact that some of the kids that play or played for Azusa would be able to out work and out hustle kids from SH. I personally know a kid from Azusa that now plays for APU and he is getting after it everyday in practice and working hard. So, Aztecs finish the season right and show thenm what you can do in the playoffs!

Why can't teams just enjoy a little success. By the way, CIF doesn't make the rankings. Traditionally a panel of coaches will come to a consensus. Is it correct, not always. A lot has to do with winning games on the field. That's regardless of who they play. We all know SC is one of the top teams in the country, but they, in the eyes of some, play a weak schedule this season. Should they be penalized for that or rewarded for beating the teams they have in front of them? Obviously to many of us in the valley some of these teams aren't the strongest, but if they are playing competition similar to their school why should they be rejected for winning. Take Azusa for instance, now I am not an Azusa fan particularly, but I did grow up relatively close to Azusa and I can't remember them being ranked this high or starting the season 5-1. Congratulations to Azusa & Coach Scherf! When was the last time Pomona was ranked? When was the last time San Dimas was #1 in their division? 1991 with Matt Harding?

On a side note, I get tired of reading about all of the "Powers" in the valley. Who cares if these kids would start at South Hills. Their school isn't South Hills, Bishop Amat, Glendora, Charter Oak, and the list goes on. They are having a great season and don't need somebody from a bigger, and more football strong school to chime in. If you want to chime in let's go to the topic of transfers into say Azusa for football v. South Hills, Bishop Amat, Charter Oak, etc. That's a big reason some of these "Weaker" schools aren't as successfull. Most of you will go into the rhetoric about kids wanting to come play for us, tradition, etc. True in some instances, but "Undue Influence" in others. Harsh criticism, but I don't have the wool over my eyes, I know what goes on. How are these "Weaker" schools supposed to create a tradtition if the same schools take all of the athletes! Let them have their moment in the sun, they've earned it to this point.

Must I mention it again Azusa SUCKS they have beat teams with a combined record of 4 and 23 and yes they will win again this week against another 0 and 6 team in Gladstone bringing the combined record of the teams they beat to 4 and 29 or 30 depending on how you look at it.

That is a 13% winning average! WOW. Anybody that has ever dealt with CIF knows they are a screwed up organization so yes in this case:
All is right in THE world. A screwed up organization picks a weak team to be ranked 4th. Azusa could not play with Rosemead, Northview, SEM, or Pomona.

It is going to be bad when they win (if they can get by Duarte) their league and get beat by a third place team from another league. I predict it now 10/15/08 at 7:40 PM Azusa is a 1 and done in the playoffs this year no matter where they finish in league.

Based on the performance of the listed teams, you gotta think the CIF Championship is San Dimas' if they keep playing the way they've play so far. Azusa, Paraclete, and Rosemead all have a reasonable chance while South El Monte, Cerritos Valley Christian, and Northview will likely all fall a little short. I don't know much about San Marino but they clearly have a great record so far...
