6. Los Atlos will beat Wilson and finish 1-9.
7. Diamond Ranch will win out and make the playoffs

9. A high profile player will be declared ineligible ... always happens this time of year.
10. Glendora finishes third in the Sierra behind Chino Hills and Ayala.

slick rick,
Read the post quite clearly. My comment was the fact that you mention somthing that happened 26 years ago and are saying it will happen again after all that time. I even think Zodys had been out of business 25 years if not more , do you think they will reopen the store to entertain that rampage you are writting about.

Amat 73 and Real Chick...try reading now and then. TM said in his post:
"I have been going to RHS games since the 70's & have never even heard of such a thing ."
Now for you chronologically challenged 1982 happened since the 70's. Get it.
BTW, did you see me on the Gauntlet Show tonight? It takes great skill to cross my legs knee over knee in tight pants. It feels pretty good. Try it!

Hey where are you CHINGON whre are you? I thought you were set to testify as to who is the best in the montview. And where are you AztecPride? I thought you would be all over this. All those who predicted the Falcons flying high over the Aztecs saw their beloved bird being shot down time and again by the mighty Aztecs. Way to go Aztecs keep the pride alive!!

slick rick,
Never been a great fan of TM but god damn , 1982 .You have got to be kidding going back that far to prove a point on Rosemead being rowdy. How about something that happened in this century or even this decade.
Posted by: AMAT 73 | October 27, 2008 2:38 PM
Slick Rick-TWENTY-SIX years ago? TM was probably playing on the monkey bars at Jansen Elementary back then. Zody's? Wow!

Trojan Man
Oye me!
Maybe you missed that huge brawl between Rosemead and Arroyo fans in the Zody's parking lot in 1982 (The Panthers co-championship season) which resulted from Rosemead students vandalizing Arroyo's campus the prior weekend.
"If you have ever been to a RHS game the mojority of the parents are ALL nice people ,there may be a few bad aplles who get loud , but NEVER have I seen a confrontation WITH ANYONE !"

A short game review:
After the D R – BoHi game one of the Bearcat Coaches challenged me with, “We won, what are you going to write now?” Coach, I was wrong to pick the Panthers to win Friday. Bonita clearly had the better Team.
Team of course, should probably be capped, highlighted, and printed in bold because that is what the Bearcats were. With all of the “big names” Diamond Ranch brought out, Sermons, Bonilla, Lengyel, Spirlin, et al., the Bonita squad played together better, played smarter and actually whipped D R at it's own game, defense and running between the Tackles. All really unexpected considering Bonita appeared much, much smaller especially up front. Breaking it down a bit . . . .
Defense is growing up, reducing the need to blitz as often; Banales and De La Torre improve every week . . . Paradez continues to be as good as he needs to be; a “quiet” 184 yds, 2 td throws, season high 106 QB rating . . . Derrick Price: “dude is like everywhere” . . . big BoHi advantage in kicking, pushing D R back on punts and touchbacks . . . and a 46 yard FG . . . too bad the guru has never heard the name “Gelalich”
All in all, probably not enough to keep Roger and the Farrar's up at night but one of the two best teams in the Miramonte this year.

1) 1-2 if they're lucky! I think that OLu game gave them a false sense of security...could get ugly in a hurry.
2) Not only will SH lose to Rowland, they will also lose to WestCo and finish 3rd in league. Then some poor first place team from a lesser league will get smoked in the first round
3) CO wins by 24pts.
4) Easily.
5) SD wins by 21pts.
6) Sadly...this game will be close. Gilmore single-handedly beat us last year so if the rumors of his ineligibility are not true (and they aren't...he played last week against CO, if he was ineligible he couldn't have played) then he could do it again!
7) Ummm...they play two teams who haven't won a game! Not exactly a tough call.
8) See #2. SH better not take a nap against Walnut or this one could be a shocker!
9) Academic ineligibilty took effect last week. So anyone who played last week was either illegally playing or is eligible. I assume what you mean here is a high profile TRANSFER will be declared ineligible! Let the guessing begin! (I rooting for someone from CO!)
10) Glendora beats Ayala...loses to Chino Hills. Ayala ain't that good folks. We shoulda beat 'em.
BONUS 11) Because of his high level of reporting and "brown nosing" Fred follows Aram to the next level and leaves the SGV stranded with Stammering Steve Ramirez to do our reporting! I swear to God Freddy if you leave us with that bumbling fool I'll haunt you!

ok as far as SH perdicted to lose the tittle this year is just really funny. Im sure the ghetto raiders and the ponies will bring their A games but just not enuff against any Bogan squad. and as for WC, SH will show you why SH is forever dubbed kings of cameron. and muir THE BEASTS OF THE EAST are coming for you! you will go no farther than the quarters.

South Hills has another little minor monkey to git off its back - losing to Rowland at their "own" Covina District Field.
Beat Rosemead @ RoseHS, 1 down, 1 (Rowland @ CDF) to go.

Slick Rick ,
"4. Rosemead will lose a game they shouldn't and their fans will go on a rampage attacking the other teams fans."

I will predict rowland well lose to sh and walnut and than lose the coin toss.

Ten things that will most likly happen.
1. Frank Corona will make a long drawn out speach about nothing in particular, but will include Damien in there somehow.
2. Donkey boy will say something like this: Frank Corona will have an epiphany and will stop being an ego-driven, snivelling fool.
3. Frank Corona will go the ref, and break out a corona, and will tear into donkey boy on his next post.
4. Donkey boy will return the favor by posting a "drive by" and claim that it was not him.
5. Frank Corona will get another corona, and post something about green paint on his car.
6. Donkey boy will still say it's not him.
7. Frank, by this time has ran out of corona's so he packs it in for the night.
8. Donkey boy, while waiting for a reply that will never come, will log on a few more times to see if Frank has something.
Alas, it never happens.
But Donkey boy has done something good here. He has helped Fred to get to his goal of 10,000 hits a week by loging on every day.
9 thru 10, who cares.
another brokeback moment

Gilmore is eligible from what I have been told. He had three F's a couple of weeks ago. Somehow he brought up the grades. The QB over at LA is a junior and that has been the rap on him since he was in JAA. The kid will throw it up to avoid a hit. His uncle is one of the coaches at LA.
What is real interesting about ineligible players is the freshmen team over at Wilson. Last week they had 12 of the 22 kids ineligible and somehow after the grading period was complete these kids are now eligible. The word on the street is since they wouldn't have enough kids to play they are going to take forfiets on all the games and allow all the ineligible players to play. Great lesson for these kids.

Ten more things that will happen in the next three weeks.
1. Damien will burn their field to exorcise the demonic spirits that have prevented them from even winning a single game on their new field turf.
2. A Rowland RB will take a swing at a referee.
3. Frank Corona will have an epiphany and will stop being an ego-driven, snivelling fool.
4. Rosemead will lose a game they shouldn't and their fans will go on a rampage attacking the other teams fans.
5. SHHS QB Deen will have an awful game on a night that a college coach makes a special trip out to see him.
6. Glendora will get smoked by Ayala, but will beat Chino Hills.
7. Charter Oak will continue to win and will destroy Bonita. Several fights and a key injury occur.
8. Azusa gets pounded in a game they should win. See #4.
9. This blog gets 100,000 hits in a week. Unfortunately it's the same 20 people who log on all day, everyday since they have no life.
10. Steve's picture in the paper frightens a small child, scarring him for life.
Of these, only #3 probably will not happen.
Posted by: Slick Rick | October 26, 2008 7:07 PM
The gremlin team won their first and only game. Looks like daddy ball carries over from charter oak pony to football.
Posted by: HaHa | October 26, 2008 5:44 PM
Regarding #2...Rowland was between 14 to 21 point underdogs going into game against West Co. If nothing else, they should gain some respect from everyone with the victory. The defense has played great all year. What looked like a two team race for #1-SH and West Co, now another team has proven they belong with the top two. I personally have not seen SH play this year so it is difficult to say I know Rowland will win. What kind of team speed does SH have?

fred robledo,
listen here little man. stop with the reverse psychology and firing up your huskies. everyone knows your a closet south hills lover. when have we ever been mentioned in the second sentence of one of your posts. we all know you and bogan go way back and our edgewood buddies. we like that you always ignore us and only pay attention to those other bigtime schools. don't start jumping on our bandwagon now pal. we all know were in for the game of our life against south hills and they may not be playing well now but always play their best games when it counts. so you too just like everyone else just sit back and let everything happen on its own and take care of itself. don't ruin it for us by getting in south hills head because you want them to win so bad and like them better than everyone else. and oh yeah bishop amat too check what you wrote about them also. your always a front runner and for the underdog at the same time. make up your mind dude. you probably love the yankees and the cubs and the cowboys and the bills all at the same time.

I was at the Charter Oak and Glendora Junior All American game yesterday. Charter Oak gremlin team won congrats to them their first and only win. While I was there I couldn't help but notice the intensity at that game and that was between 8,9,and 10 year olds. What happened to the high school games between those two teams. Wasn't that a big game? Any chance of bringing that game back. I thought Chater Oak HS and Glendora hated each other.
Posted by: west co | October 26, 2008 2:06 PM
Just do set the record straight, I don't endorse my colleague's view of No. 2 and No. 10. Both South Hills and Glendora just remind of that 2002 Ohio State national championship team that never did anything "sexy," except win.
Posted by: Steve Ramirez | October 26, 2008 2:03 PM
Yeah, #9 already happened. Los Altos QB Dmitri Longoria is ineligible, and rumor has it that Tim Gilmore is also ineligible. LA's new QB #19 seems like he throws a pretty good ball, but he performs horrible under pressure as seem at the SH game, and he threw an interception straight to the defender almost as if he gave him the ball. I hope DR has mercy on the kid this friday.
