Gladstone...
Congradulations! I've hammered happy rock pretty hard on this blog... and I'm happy to see they pulled out a win! Hopefully they can build on this and string a few wins together! Way to go!

What a Travesty said:

I left at halftime too. I was embarrassed for the Olympians even though I have no connection with the school. I think my kids 8th grade flag football team could beat Bassett, no I take it back...they could beat Bassett. The team lacks fundamentals and discipline, I saw defenders shoulder tackling without wrapping up, their defensive and offensive game is non existent. This was arguably the worst football game I've witnessed in my life. What a travesty. Bassett football team is flatlined, not the kids fault...I blame it on the administration for having no consistency in their coaching staff. They had may 5 new head coaches in the last 5 years. Time to pump is some money in some quality coaching or just hang it up for good.

What a shame to see what high school football has become in our Valley with some programs. Bassett and Gladstone literally had the fewest fans I even seen in the stands and the level of play was unfortunately horrendous. Pray for our brothers in the Montview league because I can envision football one day very soon will be dropped entirely for the integrity of the game.

I have to tell you that while I love high school football, I just had to walk out of the Basset-Gladsone game at half time.

Yes the score was 22 to nothing, and on the surface it looked as if there was allot of scoring, but I just could'nt stand to watch a complete blowout.

These two teams really had no offense eventhough Gladsone was killing Basset att he half.

To tell you the truth, Gladstone really only scored because the Olympians could'nt get the ball out side of thier 20 yard line most of the night.

With the ball being Intercepted, and on-sides kicks being recovered, along with having to punt from thier own 5 yard line, it became a long night for Basset real early, because it only helped the Gladstone team come up with more points than they should have earned.

Oh well...
