Tribune's Super 33: Saints Move to No. 3

Above: Bishop Amat's Deshawn Gaisie

1. Bishop Amat (4-1)
Best start since 2003, but that included a forfeit victory. It's actually their best start since 2001. But now it gets really tough.
2. Charter Oak (5-0-1)
They're not far behind Bishop Amat, and we'll have a fair comparison after the Chargers open the Miramonte against Diamond Ranch on Friday.
3. San Dimas (5-0)
They're playing so well they deserved the jump up a spot. I'm not sure how they can lose another game. Northview, maybe, but not likely. Can you say, 10-0?
4. South Hills (4-1)
They're winning, but there hasn't been an eye-catching performance yet. Maybe that comes against West Covina, Rowland or Walnut, but we're still on a wait-and-see.
5. West Covina (5-1)
The greatest part about the San Antonio is that West Co. meets South Hills at the end of the season. In between, lets see if they can take care of business.
6. Glendora (3-2)
Another good win over a solid team, beating a two-time defending champion in El Dorado.
7. Rosemead (3-2)
Koffler's guys proved their worth against South Hills, but lets see how they do in games they're supposed to win in the Mission Valley. Still, you'd be a fool not pick them as the favorites, and perhaps the favorites to meet San Dimas in the MId-Valley finals.
8. Bonita (3-2)
It could be tough recovering from another Smudge Pot loss. Friday's game against Los Altos should be interesting.
9. Rowland (4-1)
What a great way to rebound after going 3-7 last year. But the tough part is next, the San Antonio. First, however, they have another nonleague date at Wilson.
10. Walnut (4-1)
They love their wide-open offense in Mustang land, where running back Leonard Rhodes is proving he's legit.

Rounding out the top 33: 11. Diamond Bar (3-2), 12. South El Monte (3-2), 13. Diamond Ranch (1-4), 14. Northview (3-2), 15. Damien (1-4), 16. Western Christian (5-0), 17. Azusa (4-1), 18. Pomona (4-1), 19. Baldwin Park (3-2), 20. Workman (4-1), 21. El Monte (2-3), 22. Wilson (1-4), 23. Covina (1-4), 24. Los Altos (0-5), 25. Duarte (2-4), 26. Ganesha (2-3), 27. Nogales (1-4), 28. Bassett (2-3), 29. Mountain View (2-3), 30. Arroyo (0-5), 31. La Puente (0-6), 32. Sierra Vista (0-6), 33. Gladstone (0-5).

Comments

I am sure OaksC pulled their starters out of all the rest of their games as well.
As for what happend with Covina, it was an emotional let down after the Smudgepot game. The same thing happend last year. Too many mistakes and still won, it will not happen again this season.

Yes the scores dont lie SD Dad. 56 was the most point OC put up against those 4 teams....56 coming against San Dimas. They could have rolled you by more that nite. They pulled their starters out in the 4th qtr. If San Dimas does not win a championship this year they are chokers. Nico is gone after this year and like Covina with McD next year they become normal. Speaking of Covina how did they disrupt that fine oil machine of SD and almost beat you.>>?>?>????>/

Ring Time?

Last years playoffs:

OaksC 56
Saints 27

OaksC 44
Serra 07

OaksC 34
OakP 00

OaksC 52
Nordhoff 07

Say what you want, but the scores are there. That is the bottom line.

walnut has really turned things around. walnut looks like it should with the talent they have.

walnut insider chris warren was first team all league

and the offensive line should become a force like it was in 2002

Fred, sorry to correct you, but the 2005 AMAT season started 4-1 also. Wins aganist St. Paul, Glendora, Charter Oak, and Damien with a loss to Valencia. I was a member of that team =P...

But besides that, AMAT is having a GREAT season. I really hope they can finish the season strong and make playoffs unlike that 2005 team...

Hey walnut softball player...seriously get over your crush on Tommy. Austin is a tough QB who doesn't think about what's best for him. He always looked for that extra yard. That's how he got hurt at the DB game. Instead of going out of bounds he tried to get another few yards and took a hit. He likes the contact...good for most, but not for QB's.

As for Tommy, he pretty much cost Walnut the game against DB. He couldn't hit anything that night. Probably nerves, which is understandable, but he is not "the man".

crzywhtman,
the refs had nothing to do with diamond bar's lost but it might be because of your defensive line which can't even stop ricky johnson on this play!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikxYaDpfrA4

Walnut improved once they send Austin Cooper to the bench and brought in the Peralta as the QB. Cooper is a cry baby (uh duh?)from what the players tell me, he is scared out there and sucks big time. He fakes injuries so he can not get hit out there. Peralta is the man. Hope he asks me to Homecoming.

wow...Walnut Dad you're getting a little delusional. Take a look and most of the line are seniors. So the improvement should go to experience & the new offense first...then the coach. And should we be impressed with a 2nd team all league? seriously 2nd team? I am sure he is a fine coach, but let's not call him the next Vince Lombardi.

All I am saying is Coach Warren took this o-line this year and turned it around 10 fold. You could have the best skilled position players but the games are won and lost in the trenches and Ralph has taken this line and has really improved that the offense can move the ball now and get you scoring opportunities unlike the past. The line at Walnut the last two years were so horrible but Chris Warren Ralphs son made second team all league, so Dad really knows his stuff. To take that know how and now coach it into this years line you see a big differance. Credit Ralph Warren, great job coach. As for the rest, yes it starts at the top and O'sheilds has assembled a Good staff this year. Hope we really play good league ball and get to CIF. We are not the doormat of the San Antonio any longer and WC SH and Rowland will see that this year. This Mustang team is coming to play this year.

I have to disgree with the comment about the one that turned it around. I've been watching Walnut Football for quite a few years now. And I would have to say this team has a totally different aura about them, since the person years.

They have improved dramatically on both sides of the ball. Their defense is a Hit and Hustle defense. Their offense is a spread offense that has utilized theirs men well. They played a schedule that is more deceiving then what the other team records indicate.

They'll have a test this week against a Wes Co team that is very good.

I dont give credit to one Coach. But I believe Coach Warren has a done a wonderful job with the line. But they do have newcomers on the Coaching Staff. Coach Linsay is now a full time wide out Coach of football after playing college ball. Coach Shields is also full time linebacker Coach after playing College ball. Coach Devera is now back as the defensive coordinator after spending several years at Bishop Amat. Coach O'Shields has done a great job in upgrading an already good staff with Coaches like Acosta, Peralta, Wallace and Demonica. My hats are off to the Mustangs you have a tough team a head of you. Hopefully, now we'll see how good you are. All the Coaches and PLAYERS have done a wonderful job turning it around. Keep it up.

Walnut insider,
Yes you hit it right on the nose. It is the O-line that has improved this team and a gentleman by the name of Ralph Warren has taken over as the O-line coach. His Son Chris Warren played last year as a senior and Ralph took the job this year. He is a very experienced coach with a college playing background and has that O-line opening holes and Pass protecting real well on the roll outs by the QB. The big test is WC and if they get by that game or stay competitive this will show Walnut if for real this year. With Rhodes being a Junior this Walnut team will only get better for next year. I think this is a upswing from what they have been doing in the past.

Crzywhtmann, as you see, most people who saw the game disagree with your conspiracy theory's. The fouls were committed, & the refs did their job, and the Bulldog defense got the qb sack to end the drive. You got your explanations for the two calls you cried about, There were no homer refs, and as voice of reason explained to you, what you thought was happening on the field, wasn't even close to what was happening, your emmotions got the best of you, its ok it happens to the best of us. The fact is, your boy's where tired in the second half, Bulldogs where a bit too much, have your boy's do a little more conditioning next time, better luck next year. By the way I am proud of this hard fought well played Bulldog win, don't feel so bad though
cause your boy's are pretty good. See Yah! 5 & 1 baby!! Tootaloo!!!
Just kidding, see ya next year crzyman.

Walnut Dad, I am curious new are the new coaches? The way I look at the staff I see all returning coaches from last year with one exception. Is he the reason for the turn around? The O-line is mostly seniors which is their strength, but more importantly is the new offense which spreads out the defense which allows for more holes to open up inside. This offense is a better fit for the Walnut kids because the bunch wasn't cutting it because Walnut kids weren't big/strong enough to push around other schools for 4 quarters.

I can't say much about the defense because for all we know it's the opponents offenses that have been weak. I will say Ike has been very solid on the inside this year.

I am pulling for the seniors on this team, but I don't want to get to over confident because of the easy pre-season.

SO MR. KNIGHTS, PLEASE LET US US KNOW WHO HAS WON 20 LEAGUE TITLES..YOU SHOULD BE SO LUCKY..NUCKLE HEAD..THE ONLY THING YOU KNOW ABOUT FOOTBALL IS BEING,ON THE CHEERING SQUAD...GIVE UP YOUR SCHOOL IF YOUR SO PROUD.... FIGHT ON MVL

"(DESTROYED)"LOL..." YOU MAKE ME LAUGH". LOOK AT YOU, LEG RIDING ON THESE BIG SCHOOLS!LOL.. Are you trying to get support from these bloggers to side with you! "you ARE really a FOOL"!

Insider,
You must be genius, how did you guess I was from Arroyo ? Did my log on name give me away ? You should be a detective, nothing get's pass you. Not once did I say Arroyo was good, they suck too, and so what if you won a couple of league titles, try winning 20 of them you loosers. Like I said I can't stand Rosemead, but I know football and they have the best team in the MVL. Sorry, they will kick you a$$ and ours. Still a Knight (always a Knight).

Dubb3

Gilmore never ran the wing-t with oviedo, oviedo ran the singleback play action. Even when they had daniel bernal they did not run the wing T. Everyone knows that was not oviedos style. Might want to check the facts. I believe now they are running a wing t tho, but I'm not sure.

TO RESPOUND TO MR KNIGHTS/OCT-15........YOU MUST BE AN ARROYO MAN..PLEASR LOOK AT YOUR OWN RECORD..AND THEN COMMENT..WHO WON THE LEAGUE TITLE LAST YR. AND THE YR BEFORE.. SINCE YOUR NOT FROM ROSEMEAD..YOU CAN"T OR KNOW WHAT THE COACHES ARE SAYING ABOUT SEM..AND AM SURE THERE NOT TAKEING SEM LIGHTLY..WITH ONLY TWO RETURNS FROM LAST YR DEFENSIVE TEAM.THERE FIGHTING BACK..SEM OFFENCE CAN PUT POINTS/ALOT OF POINTS ON THE BOARD AGANST ANY MVL TEAM AND THAT INCLUDES ROSEMEAD.SEM QTR BACK IS NOT ONLY THE LEADING PASSER, BUT ALSO THE LEADING RUSHER, IN THE MVL HE"S GOT MORE RUSHING YARDS THAN TRE SUMNER..AND ACOSTA IS THE LEADING RECIEVER..YEA WE ARE GOING DOWN...WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN SMOKEING LATELY?????? GOOD LUCK TO TWO GOOD TEAMS IN THE SGV... PENALTIES AND TURN OVWERS WILL DECIDE THE MVL..

I was at the Diamond Bar/West Covina game and it wasn't the officals. The key of the game was when Diamond Bar trailing 21-19 late in the third quarter had the ball at the Bulldogs Six yard line and committed to legit penalities and then the quarterback got sacked turning a 1st and goal into a 4th and 55. Also West Covina had four or five sacks in the second half. Dimond Bar lost its compisure in the last two minutes of the third and the begining of the fourth. If they would of played all four quarter they might have won.

Crzywhtemann...

Like most fans on the losing side of a contest, you are looking for someone to blame, I understand.

Since you appear to be confused as to what was going on at the West Covina/Diamond Bar Game, let me enlighten you.

The officials took the 10-15 minutes discussing the length of the marker chain that was being used(whether it was too long or short was not an advantage to either team).

As far as the other call that you said was declined and then accepted had to do with confusion over the officials' giving WC an automatic 1st down on the obvious pass interference against Diamond Bar, either way, we were inside the 10 yard line and scored within 2 plays.

You also referred to "mystery" calls but surely you know that blocking from behind is a penalty at every level of football, if you don't, you may want to pass that along.

Lastly, I am sorry to inform you that there was no official's conspiracy, Diamond Bar played a good game, but just got outplayed in the 2nd half.

Now you can get back to your other hobbies such as Who killed JFK, UFO at Roswell etc... By the way, Good Luck vs Glendora and their Refs!!

Walnut insider I disagree, Walnut is better this year and yes those 3 teams they played were not top of the line but what has Walnut playing good football is they added coaches with Experience and that is paying off. The line is opening up nice holes for Rhodes and King and that is a credit to the new O-line coach. The D seems to be getting to the ball quicker and is tackling better and that spread offense is a nice design by good coaching. Can they step it up vs WC is still a question. If Walnut does lose they will not lose by much, this will be a close game....there will be no blowout like in years past.

Saints dad,

What playoff game were you at last year? You blinked in the first quarter and it was 28-0....OC could have run 100 points on you that nite, they played the 4th quarter with the second string. I can say that Nico got his but the rest of your team got a good old fashion butt kicking. With no OC this year the Saints "SHOULD" win it all.

I am happy to see Walnut doing well, but if you look at the 4 teams they have beaten they combine for a total of 4 wins for the season. So the question has to be is Walnut better or is it just an illusion? We will see Friday night because WC is a little down this year and Walnut has at least more confidence heading in. Should be good.

Insider,
Rosemead should be concern ? be real, I can't stand Hosemead and even I can say that they are the best team in the MVL. I hate to say it but they are going to run away with the championship. South is on the way down, all your good coaches are gone, and your HC stinks. Quit thinking that SEM is some kind of power-house. You will get bounced from CIF early as usual. You had one good year and South Hills put about 70 points on you in the semi's. Since then ??????? yeah, that's right nothing.

A few things...
1. Poor Gilmore... what happened everyone says..well when you run an offense for 3 years and then your senior you change it. It can really mess with your production. For 3 yrs. Gilmore ran the Wing-T. Now he is in a I-back pro set..Well most would think well more touches well not unless he has the line to open the holes and a FB to lead the way. Look at it like this San Dimas and Wing T team with Barron is still putting up numbers cause of the design of the offense. A good running back can get lost in that system with all the motions trapping and sweeps that a runner like Gilmore can thrive in and make Defense have to really work to find the ball. Now take that away and stick him in the I form. And a Defense can focus a whole game plan to stop him. Gilmore is in the WRONG SYSTEM!!!
2.San Dimas is legit...best team in MID-VALLEY..good oline and Dling. Barron is nice..but i like Joseph he is a game Changer. But there romp in the MID-Valley wont be easy..I have seem most teams in this divison play. Rosemead and SELM.from the MVL Have great offense. Rosemead has a good defense as well. SELM needs to sure up the D to make noise. But if that QB#11 and WR #7 get it going no DB in the Mid Valley can guard him one on one.Azusa and Workman from the Montview and yes Workman...they have a good running game and well keep games close and there defense is actually the best in the league. Azusa has a good QB that makes big plays for them and there deeper than most think. Duarte has a lack of depth that i think will hurt them in the end. From the VVL Northview has a great defense but there offense has yet to show what it can do. I seen them in Passing league and there best players were there Wide-outs..But yet they run more than pass. There coach needs to let his playmakers loose. And Baldwin Park has a great D. like always but injuries to the QB have cost them. I have yet to see the OLY> teams but i have seen C.Valley and Parclete that last 2 years so i know they will be tough. I think the Mid-Valley will be a great Play-off. Lots of evenly matched teams. There will not be big blow-outs. There will be good football through out. As a fan of the lil--guys i cant wait to see this one play out...

If you look at last years playoff bracket you will see that the Saints gave OaksC the best game. Yes they still lost but it was OaksC toughest playoff win. You might say they still got slapped, but not like all the other teams OaksC faced in the playoffs last year.

Dan,

what an a$$!! Were tyou even at the game? Do you even know anything about football or any sport for that matter? You are probably one of those that don't believe that the "officials" can have an impact on a game. Yeah West Co. won. i did not disparage the team or the players but the coach and the "officials" sure. Tell me why the "officials" took 10-15 minutes to figure out how to mark a 5 yard offsides/encroachment penalty in the 1st 2 minutes of the game? No idea? Of course not. But once Maggiore came over to the sidelines and told the officials where he thought the ball should be placed sure enough they figured it out and low and behold the mark was 4 inches short of the 1st down. Yet when his team declines a lplenty he is given a timeout and the opportunity to "change his mind"!! Only in West covina. You probably were one of the dumba$$ "officials" right?
Look at the film. Highlight all of the holding and clipping and defensive holding away from the play and all the other mysterious penalties while West Co played a "flawless" game. Give me a break, it is a "homer" crew trying to keep the home coach happy. Well they did their job!! Be "proud" of your victory "Dan".

Make the right move:

Brown's problem is that the LA offense has had trouble getting him into legitimate field goal range to get those numbers up. He only had one shot last game it was from 55yds! Not exactly what you would call a gimme.

And he had a game-winner blocked against Northview that could have looked really good on the resume!

He'll be fine once LA's offense starts to click in the next few weeks......I mean IF it starts to click (here's hoping!)

crzywhitemann,
More like insane whiteman where do come up with this stuff? Like your really investigating the officials, just cause your boys were so overmatched that they had to resort holding, blocking in the back, & other desperate tactics cause they where beat by their opponent, don't blame the refs for doing their job, quit sniveling, get over it already, your team lost, on to the next game, West Co = 5 & 1, D-Bar =4 & 2,
get use to it whiner, NEXT!

Saint Tartan,

Thanks .

FIGHT ON

TM

Don

Anybody in this valley would like to get Oaks off there schedule for the playoffs, and not to mention the bus rides to Morro Bay..

gstone4life,

I love your blind support for your team! Fans can learn something from you! No matter what the odds are or the stats say, you will stand beside your team! I think that's a great quality... but I also think Azusa will beat Gladstone by three touchdowns or more. I'll be pulling for you because I love underdogs and I really apperciate fans who pull for their guys in the face of overwhelming odds!

Rock on Happy Rock!

Don,
I think you're right on the money here! Good old Oaks Christian was always waiting in the wings to slap SD down! The fact of the matter is Oaks is able to slap most SGV teams down, despite their league placement and enrollment. You might call the Saints lucky for being realigned, but their luck was needed if anyone expected the SD program to grow beyond a league championship. After all, Oaks Christian could give a good many junior colleges a run. So, again, you're right... the Saints will play well into the playoffs because of their good fortune and recent realignment.

nice rankings fred... how ever you will have to be doing a lot more thinking this week after gstone demolishes azusa... yes yes ive been waiting for this game... gstone 18 azusa 0... let me tell you why... A. azusa has not played anyone worth mentioning B.the kids are always scared when they play gstone C. albert sanchez will easily out coach joe scherf D.the qb gaete does not like to be hit! herrera and gomez will have thier way with him...also the aztecs defense are led by a lil skinny kid?!?!? i just dont understand how ochoa is the leader of that defense? he's slow small can't read and is afraid... why do the aztecs go as he goes???? and its just the same on offense gaeta makes bad decisions and is scared?!?
this is why azusa will lose to gladstone because of their 2 so called leaders ochoa and gaeta lets see if they follow them after this game?!? both of them will finally get exposed to what they really are... below average players..!!!! again aztecs Blame this loss on your boys OCHOA AND GAETA!!!!!!!!

AZTEC PRIDE

You are really a fool, do you think Fred is going to go to the Azusa Gladstone with the rest of the Valley opening up league play this week? He does not want to watch the Sorry Montview League when he can watch some real football such as Amat, CO, West CO, South Hills, Glendora, D Ranch, or even in your division San Dimas, Nothview, BP, Rosemead etc.
Why would he want to waste his time on that sorry game. Yes everybody in the Valley knows Azusa will win (and win big 48 to 7 my prediction) I will give you that but again it goes back to beating another team that has not won a game 0 and 6. Brining the combined record of the teams Azusa will have beaten to 4 wins and 29 losses WOW tough schedule. Do they play another team that has a winning record? Because the only team that they played that had more wins than losses destroyed them!!

Once again Fred uses personal feelings over statistics. Does it make since to have Rowland and Walnut ahead of Diamond Bar? No, if DBar had the same soft non-league schedule that Walnut and Rowland play they would probably be 5-0, then maybe DBar would get some respect from Fred but probably not. DBar rolled through the The Mustangs in the first game of the season!! Thursday night's game against Glendora will show that DBar is on their way to reestablishing credibility in the SGV.

The game against West Co. was so poorly officiated that the Sheriff's Dept had to escort the officials off the field and to their cars after the game. I have never seen such a "homer" crew. I am investigating the situation so we can identify the officials and have them sanctioned for their ruining of what should have been a great game. Fred, check out the number of penalties called against DBar vs West Co.
Try 18 against DBar vs West Co's 3. But I am sure Fred is just happy that his West Co boys are still in it until league. Maggiore was an integral part of the problem telling the officials how to make the the calls and where to spot the ball. He even had a call (declined penalty) changed after he called time out. The "officials" had already announced that West Co. declined the penalty and then miraculously after the timeout was called the "officials" allowed West Co. to change the decision and awarded West Co. the 1st down. 2 plays later a touchdown to end the first half. What a joke West Co. You should be embarrassed calling that a win That was a whitewash orchestrated by the West Co. Head Coach!! Guess we know who the powers to be are now!!

Trojan Man,

I dont know what I'd do without you....

Thank your lucky Stars for Realignment & Something Interesting:

Moving down to the Mid-Valley League and leaving the Tri-Valley and Los Padres Leagues behind is huge for the Saints.

The best teams they will probably see all year are Rosemead and SEM although there are some small Privates in the Olympic League, (Home of the Lancaster to La Habra bus ride), who might peak come playoff time.

Fred,
Interesting top 5 here. I can't say I disagree with your moving of SD above SH. SH is a great program and maybe we expected too much at the beginning of the year - but the fact is - and you nailed it - San Dimas is playing too good and South Hills has been pulling out victories from the jaws of defeat. If South Hills can really post some numbers in season I think they will need to be moved back atop San Dimas. I think SH has a tuffer league road to travel than does San Dimas. However, if the Saints keep scoring 45 or 50 per game and don't loose - it's hard to bump a team that is playing that well.

Good set of rankings here - pretty accurate!

Leonard Rhodes is Legit and now Walnut moves into the top Ten. This is a team and School everyone writes off every year as chess players and swimmers. At 4-1 we will stand up to WC friday and this game can go either way. Rhodes is solid and WC may not be able to contain this one man wrecking crew. Johnson From WC is good but if Walnuts Defense limits him Rhodes will outshine him and tear it up...Walnut 28 WC 20

The only thing that favors the San Dimas Saints this year is the fact that Oaks Christian will not be around to smack them around again come playoff time. With that said it is a easy road to a championship this year for SD. If they come up empty they really choked.

What happened to Gilmore? Two easy answers. Horrible head coach and a bad O-line. What a difference a year makes.

Don
Not sure the VVL or Mid Valley wont give them some tuff games, plus as most would say, they have to play where there told too!

However, I had a little fun today on Calpreps under "Project Matchups" and SD projected to win on everybody below them. Now, this is just a computer program, but interesting anyways.

They have some real talent over there.

Good luck the rest of the way.

“San Dimas – I still wish the Saints had booked some tough games to validate the season
Don,
San Dimas booked Los Altos and Bonita, thinking they would step it up as in past years. Is San Dimas to blame for that?
Your thoughts...
Posted by: SaintsR4real “

The Bonita-SDHS game is sort of a given. Most of the time BoHi fields a pretty competitive team and that game is sort of a traditional baseline for the Saint's success that year. I applaud the scheduling of the Conqs in '08, too bad it is an off year for them. The S E M match up is good too, traditional, similar sized schools and almost always competitive.
My point all year has been that the Saints could probably have beaten some mid-sized OC or IE “name program” type schools this year and really given themselves a boost. I'm not talking Servite or Centennial here, maybe Canyon and Colony, or even La Habra and Los Osos. I think the Saints are for real, and believe that in this, Coach Z's 4th (5th?) season, they could have stood some stouter opposition.
They certainly don't seemed destined to get it from the V V L or the Mid Valley Division playoffs.

right moves-coaching matters!

I have a non-Amat topic, Gilmore. What happen to Tim Gilmore this year? This was one of the best backs if not the best back in the valley last year. This year he isn’t even a factor in Wilson’s weak non-league schedule. We all know that this is when you would have expected Gilmore to put up the big numbers. Is this year’s line that much worse than last years, most would think that isn’t possible? Is the coaching that weak, and if so this is a great lesson for all. How important coaching and the players around you to getting those D1 looks.

I guess an even better example of that would be Brown the kicker from LA. Another all league as a junior and his numbers this year are below average. Brown is going to have a real tuff time getting any bites with the numbers he is putting up this season. I don’t feel that Brown’s issue is coaching; LA just doesn’t have the talent on the line.

Both these kids have the talent to play at the next level but due to the teams they are on they are going to have to make a stop on the way their (JC).

I know lots of you are going to bring up loyalty to your team. Well the way I see it, if your team for example LA recruits a player from for example Bishop Amat. Then LA starts him over a kid that has been in their program all four years, where is the loyalty their. These kids and parents need to look out for their best interest because the schools and the coaches aren’t going to that is just the way it is.

San Dimas – I still wish the Saints had booked some tough games to validate the season
Don,
San Dimas booked Los Altos and Bonita, thinking they would step it up as in past years. Is San Dimas to blame for that?

Your thoughts...

GAME OF THE WEEK!!!
Chargers vs Diamond Ranch, a great matchup. If Dranch can put last years blowout behind them it should be a war. Chargers on a roll put lots of points on the board. Chargers 31 Dranch 14. Play safe.

And now, The BIG Valley:

Bishop Amat – You either agree or disagree here depending on how you feel about D Ranch
Charter Oak – Who else in the SE is 4-0-1 against D5 and D1 teams?
South Hills – The Ole San Antone doesn't look like such a runaway any more
San Dimas – I still wish the Saints had booked some tough games to validate the season
West Covina – Making the league run and the Division seedings interesting
Glendora – ElDo win was HUGE, D Bar is looking for you to let down a bit
Muir – Good job to Coach Howard for keeping the Stangs healthy and eligible
St Francis – Yeah, it's all fun and games, then you get Amat, and Crespi, and St Paul, and .. . .
Diamond Ranch – Told ya the Lengyel kid was big time. Twice. Last year.
Damien - A wild and woolly Sierra League race, again
Rosemead – As Keith Jackson would say, Panthers vs SEM will be a Jim Dandy, barn burner
Bonita – Holy John McKay! Gutty little Bearcats running an I formation?
Rowland – Going to be a scramble for the S A L #3 spot this year
Maranatha – the QB has more Yds than Paradez, a better ranking than Deen, and a ride to KSU
Diamond Bar – It's lucky we will have the Sierra to write about after all else is decided
South El Monte – Count on the Eagles to be in the middle of the Mid Valley playoffs
San Marino – Continues to surprise. Just beat darn good Cantwell SC and San Gabriel teams
Arcadia – Battled through some dings, I guess Apaches are tough like in the John Ford westerns
Monrovia – Has battled in every game, maybe the RHL isn't as soft as I thought
Walnut – Another terrific turnaround, Coach O ought to be proud
Azusa – Really an amazing climb from where they were
Northview – Better D than expected, less O; I thought Coach A was a scoring savant
San Gabriel – The AL will be easier than Cathedral and Serra but I really expected more here
Los Altos – Everyone is happy at LA, just a move or two away, believing that will make my day
Alhambra – SEM is FOUR TD's better? Gil, tell me it ain't so
Claremont – Sinking slowly into the Baseline
Rio Hondo Prep – Gives new meaning to “small enrollment”, just played Maranatha to a 14-7
Baldwin Park – Brave new world? Who has cash down on the Northview game?
Pomona – Second hottest team in the VVL right now making a run
Temple City – Well hey, they did beat La Salle last week
Covina – The good news? ... . . . . . . . Colts play Ganesha on November 6th
Western Christian – 2008 Part 1 is vs 4-21 opponents, Part 2 is vs 22-4 (so far) foes
La Canada – Won last two . . . . against Firebaugh and Arroyo; what's a Firebaugh?
Pasadena – Bulldogs have one toughazz season booked this year, wow!
Poly – Put these guys here just to annoy that chingon guy
Duarte – Won the last two: Sierra Vista and Happy Rock, that's 2-0 against 0-11
La Salle – Beat the Tigers, probably will beat the Stars. Dude.
El Monte – Knights really should be 4-1 right now

DONT COUNT THE SEM OUT OF THE MISSION LEAGUE TITLE...SEM PLAYED SAN DIMAS TOUGH 20 ALL BE FORE HALF IF IT NOT BEN FOR A COUPLE OF TURN OVERS THE GAME WOULD HAVE BEEN ALOT CLOSER PLUS SEM PUT 35 POINTS ON A EXCELLENT TEAM..AND ALSO PUT 21 POINTS ON A VERY GOOD AND PHYSICAL TEAM CHINO AYALA..NOW THAT THE DEFENSE IS PLAYING UP TO PAR..ALHAMRA 7--SEM 35..ROSEMEAD SHOULD BE CONCERN..SEM CAN MATCH THEM POINT FOR POINT..THE OFFENCE IS ROCKING..ITS GOING TO BE A GOOD GAME....I BELIVE SEM GOT A BETTER OFFENCE ROSEMEAD IS MORE BALANCE..GOOD LUCK
