Saturday Morning Quarterback: Rosemead crushes San Dimas; Charter Oak, DRanch, West Covina and Rowland all advance

For quarter-by-quarter updates of tonight's semifinals, click thread

Friday's quarterfinal results
Southeast Division
Charter Oak 40, Crescenta Valley 9 -- The Chargers win big, but running back Adam Muema leaves early with a bruise on his side. But not to worry, Brandon Golden took over and finished with 113 yards and two touchdowns to make it look easy anyway.
Rowland 52, La Serna 28 -- Where did this lopsided victory come from? That's a statement win over a 10-1 team. Now comes the big question, what will they do about Charter Oak in the semi's?
Diamond Ranch 15, South Hills 12, OT -- The surging Panthers advanced to the semifinals with their fifth straight victory after starting 1-6. In overtime the Huskies could do nothing with their first series, losing yards on every down. That set the stage for Diamond Ranch's Sean Marley to close it out with a game-winning 25-yard field goal.
West Covina 49, Burbank 28 -- The Bulldogs fell behind early, then rolled up their sleeves and gutted out a victory to meet Diamond Ranch in the semifinals.
Mid-Valley Division
Monrovia 41, Duarte 21 -- Marquise Williams had 233 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Cats, outdueling Jordan Canada, who had 280 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns.
Rosemead 59, San Dimas 22 -- Despite San Dimas fumbling four times in the first six minutes, this was all Rosemead. Tra Sumler finished with 260 yards and five touchdowns, and Angel Alejandre was nearly perfect, finishing 13-of-16 for 225 yards and three touchdowns.
Temple City 17, Azusa 0 -- The Aztecs' great season came to end, getting shutout in their first trip to the quarterfinals since 1975.
Central Division
Upland 54, Glendora 14 -- The Highlanders were simply too much at home as the Tarts give up their most points in two years.
Rancho Cucamonga 28, Paloma 20
Cajon 34, Ayala 14
Los Osos 28, Chino Hills 24
Saturday's game

So tell me Trojan Man...is it fun being the new "Drive By Target"? At least they picked someone new? Sorry it was you.

WOW !!!
I am SOOOO Hurt !!!
Maybe I'll KILL myself ....
Nobody likes me ....
BOOO HOOO
ALL Charter Oak FANS,
I did a little research and would you believe that since 2004 Charter Oak has played 32 teams with a winning record (the bulk of that coming in 2005 and 2006)? And I'm not talking about top teams from top conferences, I'm just talking about teams with a winning record of whom many had 1 win that qualified their record as winning. Know what the record was in those games? 18-13-1. Therefore, you're basically a .500 team against winning records. Does that make your scheduling tough? Also, against teams I would consider part of reputable leagues (purely subjective) Charter Oak was a whopping 4-9-1. So COJO, D-MO, CO Mom, please don't tell me how great your scheduling is or your team for that matter. You play inferior teams. And, oh yeah, 2 of those losses were thrashings at the hands of the Lancers!
shout out
Truth hurts you little B---h.
Trojan Man exposed for the a$$ he really is!
Hey No Bodies,
Lighten up. No one in their right mind can dismiss Rowland as another low achiever from a weak league. That part of the new season is over. Your record speaks for itself. Chargers are hot and ready, you should be the same. Ignore the hot dog bloggers and look for a great game, play safe play clean. May the best team win. In my case its Chargers, I'm sure you see it just your way.I may miss the game as my Godson plays at W Covina
Eagle 20
What the hell are you talking about. My post had nothing to do with anybody except rowland. Where are you getting this s*** semhs? Rsoemead? You trippin nig.
....and despite your malicious slander the fact remains that
Rowlands dope
Real Trojan Man stop acting like a little girl. I think you are pathetic, throwing names around like a rat snitch! Grow up the blog is all about having fun .
COFan,
Hi im Joseph and I graduated from Charter Oak in 1999 and let me tell u that this team is special they remind me of the team that we had when we won cif in 1998 but this team we prevail Friday against Rowland and get the victory to face west covina or diamond ranch in the finals bottom line CO will be going back to the Finals CO 56 Rowland 22
COJO,COfans:
No Worries ...Its in the bag.Maybee CIF should send you straight to the finals!....No need to play the lowly RAIDERS...heck they're coached by a bunch of senior citizens and can u imagine..they dont even recruit...wow a bunch of nobody, neighborhood kids who play for the name on the jersey - RHS (not their name)!!!...Besides, CO has the best football money can buy!! NO WORRIES its in the bag.
COJO, you don't really think you have a good coaching staff do you? 1 tie to 1 team in the beginning of the season doesn't mean your schedule is legitimate. That's laughable. You keep thinking that. In fact, you'd better get ready for Friday. Charter Oak is very talented, but so is Rowland. So Charter Oak had better be ready.

COJO, I'm an INDY terd boy! I love Larry yet I still know who you are,see u friday.
Please, please , please Get over it. They keep throwing them out at us and we keep knocking them off, Unlike AMAT, GLENDORA AND SO HILLS. IS RANCHO A WORTHY OPPONENT? SAME RECORD OF WINS AND LOSSES, OOPS NO LOSSES. GET ON THE BANDWAGON, CHARGERS ARE FOR REAL. BEST COACHING STAFF IN SO CAL.
Hey JFR, Hell you can't know who I are, I don't know who I are. Besides Im a hyde bound ,dyed in the wool Libertarian. Follow and agree with Larry Elder and Michael Savage. Go chargers, the rest of you pretenders go take a nap or I'll tell your mommie!!!
ROSEMEAD FANS!
Who cares. This is the stupidest stuff i've seen on a blog... Rosemead parent(s) please stop throwing out your dirty laundry out there! You sound as pathetic as (SD MOM)! GIVE IT REST ALREADY!
COJO, the teams you play might have something to do with not allowing a TD in the past three games!
COJO, we are on the same side but beware, the next time you reference me with a dumocrat will be the last. I KNOW WHO YOU ARE!
To all you "AKA" Bloggers,
Thanks but no thanks for bringing me up in your blogging. I really do not understand how all of your AKA blogging and trash talking does anyone any good.
I can see that some of you maybe do not have kids yet. It is amazing that you adults can come on here and blast others kids and now you want to blast me too.
That's cool it really sucks that you adults and ex-Panthers would conduct yourselves in this manner. Hey just leave the kids alone and let them be all they can be.
Good luck Panthers
I agree with JFK and slaker about WILLIAMS and Peri but don't omit a great linebacker corp led by SMITH. Thats the reason defense has not given up td in last 3 games. Starting defense that is,
I think its pretty funny how grown ass adults are acting like children and pointing fingers of how to conduct themselves or about who starting talking 'isht first or showing no class.
I've been quiet all year, Just adding my FEAR THE MEAD comments here and there, and have let the kids do the talking on the field, but come on now..seriously, this is getting ridiculous.
If I am not mistaken it was the Saints fans(not all but quite a few) saying that the Mead is done. That we've havent played anyone. That they fear no one. That we are one dimensional...blah,blah,blah.
Well maybe coach Z did fear something and after not playing a kid for 10 weeks felt the need to suit him up....hmmmm.
I agree that the 'Mead is 1 dimensional...that dimension being. When we get the ball on offense we 'tend to score. Be it on the ground (5 touchdowns) or the air (3 touchdowns)
Excuses or no excuses a loss is a loss. Deal with it.
My boys from the Mead...

SD Mom, remember the old cliche....what goes around comes around? You reap what you sow? SD fans are loud, arrogant and cocky when they win...and classless when they lose.
TM, for the last two years you have been honking the MEAD horn with honor as an alum. You have always supported the Tartans but have never forgotten your roots, kudos.
Trojn Man;
You been here since the begining of the season rooting for Rosemead. Your blogs hav always been positive and I never seen any disrespect. Don't let these foolish comments bring you down. This is just jealously and hate. Your team is going to the third round, and there not!
Rosemead take down Paracelete, and win the championship for the SGV!
PLEASE! All you Rosemead fans and alum ,,LET'S SHOW SOME CLASS, Act like you belong there (playing in December). One word should say it all

Rosemead Cholo Big Mouth AKA Trojan Woman
This clown was a dead give away..
Came on here last year praising #10, sticking up saying "Leave junior alone", and supporting Glendora, RM and SC.
He was at the Glendora Games. What parent would not watch his kid and chose go to RM games?
Then ran home and started talking like he was at RM games with no details.
I agree, stay away from Foothill Blvd, and remain on Lower Azusa Rd. LOL
No one really thinks that ANY team in the Mid-Valley Division can beat any of the top teams from the Serra, Sierra, or Miramonte League so please stop verbally harassing them and let them feel rewarded for their hard work and competitive spirit in yes "small time" football but that's ok this is why C.I.F. designed a Division like this for competitive parity. Do not compare them with other top teams they do not deserve to be in a conversation with but do compare them to each other.
In the Eastside vs. Westside argument, the truth is the Westside "small time" schools are better and the Eastside "big time" schools are better. Go ahead debate this point but I'm just referring to this year's teams successes and who is beating who head to head preseason and in the postseason.
Good luck to every team next week and may the best teams win! Let's be honest were going to be lucky regardless because we should have locals playing each other head to head for a C.I.F. Championship. Priceless!

Personal Info
Name: Wallace Gonzales
Graduation Year: 1990
Charter Oak: Nice work out there, Mr. Golden. It is great to see Monrovia kids doing well.
Rosemead: Congratulations. Your team has been working hard and deserve this. Good luck this week. I'm looking forward to a battle.
Fred: How can you say that those San Dimas fumbles that provided tremendous field position and points early in the game would have made no difference? I mean, it made SOME difference. Maybe a big difference. I did pick Rosemead to beat SD, but the fumbles and early points must have changed the entire dynamic of the game. Was it four TDs in the first quarter???
All this crying makes me sick and I cannot believe that some San Dimas fans cannot face the fact that they lost. SD MOM has been talking smack all week and now has to eat crow. It is has school football so lets all have fun and talk smack. And to the knuckle head dissin Trojan Man, please take a cold shower homeboy.

NV Fan---Yes, San Dimas had some success at the JV and Freshmen level....but get this...SEMHS did as well. Actions speak louder than words...so I will just say that we have some surprises for everyone.....
Cdub...did you even read my comments...maybe you did not graduate from HS and cant read...so then I can understand...yes...my team did not make the playoffs...so what....that was not the point of my posting...I was giving props to Rosemead and their efforts...SEMHS has a lot of work to do...but we will get it done...please read things at least two times before you type...

Rosemead Fans:
I would like to tell you how proud I am of your accomplishments so far this year. Someone came on this 'blog' earlier claiming to be part of our administration and staff condoning your efforts and the so-called unsportsmanlike actions of our fans.
Let me say this, on account of our Staff and Administration, WE ARE PROUD OF YOUR PANTHERS! THANK YOU PARENTS for taking an active roll in your child's extra-curricular activities! Thank you to the city of ROSEMEAD for your Support of your school, along with the rest of the MISSION VALLEY LEAGUE and the EMUHSD!
We will continue to do what is right and success will continue to follow.
Rosemead Coaches/Teachers you have done a wonderful job this year! Keep up the good work!
-"REAL" PANTHER ADMIN/STAFF
qwerty,
Thank you for manning (womaning up?) up and coming clean on behalf of your fans. We were a well-deserved #4, but we definitely did not prove it last night. I'm not sure why your fans decided to take out your frustrations on us, but enough said.
Thanks for your kind words, qwerty.
Facts somehow show the real truths about some of Rosemead problems...
The average parent education level is 1.92 (where “1” represents “not a high school graduate” and “5” represents graduate school.). Data analysis shows yearly increases in student population over the last four years. Approximately 10% of the student population is receiving Special Education services and almost 77% of all students come from
backgrounds where the language spoken at home is other than English.
Who is the coach at Rosemead? Was he dropped on his head as a child? AND, is he Sumler's English teacher? Just sayin.
SD MOM,
Give it a rest already. There is nothing wrong with sayig overrated! You hear it all the time in college football. Pleaseeeee get over it, MOM. Your last post sounded sincere until almost the end, by you hoping the same thing happens to Rosemead! So what's the difference.
Please, were trying to watch the game!SSSSHHHHHH!
Good game last night Diamond Ranch... Good Luck to you next weekend... As for South Hills it was a good hard fought game, Deen had a good game passing for over 300 yards and 1 touchdown... Big Question though are running game, our leading sophomore back for some reason didnt play much and our freshman running back didnt do anything... Hope next year is different, with losing Deen are passing game will probably suffer a little... Were going to have to step up our running game, hopefully both our sophomore and freshman come back stronger and faster...
SD Mom,
one last comment then Im done. At this years smudgepot game our (SD) fans were chanting at the end of the game. "whos house? our house!
Admin, I know I'm stupid for responding but you are full of CRAP. My old man who ran RHS for many years would have never showed his hand like a girl as yourself has. Do you know names like Dunaway, Swanburg, Ellis, Hall and the big M for which the stadium is named after. YOU SUCK if you condemn your crowd for cheering a great team with a long drought of success. I hope you realize who I am!!!!!
SD john: Homer or Dedicated?? thats the question... and as far as this year goes I have yet to here any disrespectful chanting coming from SD side... and if they do talk sh** its not being yelled across for the players and fans to hear correct??? And im not taking anything from mead they were good... TRA was Really Good...!! never said he wasnt... we lost fair and square.. i just thought it was hurtful to the players to hear the chanting... one day the shoe will be on the other foot for mead and they will be Bit*#*&^ on here too.....
Hey TROJAN MAN:
Somebody know's who you are, and has blown the lid off the cover.
Lesson to be learn for all you bloggers out there! Never give up your moniker, or you might just be put in the MEAT GRINDER,AND BE EXPOSED.LOL...
TM, somebody is throwing out your dirty laundry ??? HAHAHAHAHAHAAAHAAHAHH!
SD MOM;
Here's some advise. You can't take on the whole world. Your nitpicking about the smallest things. That's football, and fans are going to do, what they'r going to do!So please quit bringing up the word, (classless). When your winning all seems right with the world, but when your losing or have lost, all the negativity comes out of us!
So keep your head up, and quit trying to make your point accross, because your wasting your time. I know blogging is addicting, but now you can concern yourself with baking christmas cookies.
SD Mom,
I did hear the chanting and I dont see anything wrong with it.What Im trying to say is that it goes both ways I have seen our fans cross the line and be disrespectful. Last year at the Ganesha game I heard so much s**t talking that was directed towards a GHS player I also heard a lot of laughing when comments were made. You have to take what you give.
As far as whos side am I on IM on the SD side but unlike some people Im not a HOMER when I see something wrong with the team I say something about it. When we lose Im sad I love SD football.Seeing the kids walking off the field in tears almost brought me to tears.
GO SAINTS!!!
GO SAINTS BAND!!!
BIG CHOLO AKA TROJAN WOMAN.
There is no room for this, this is a FOOTBALL blog! If you have some personal issues, take them somewhere else. Your post has to be the worst i've seen here since the season began.
Bottom line losing sucks, and you just to have bite your tongue and move on. Don't bring the race card issue in here.
The beauty of foootball is, all races can compete at any level! Remember there's always next year.
ALL YOU SAN DIMAS FANS QUIT CRYING ,,THERE IN NO CRYING IN FOOTBALL !!!LOL
all you SD FANS talking about class and such and how you guys show perfect class well thats a lie becuase when we walked out this year we walked out to F BONITA got stuff thrown at us got more u guys are P***Ys and after we lost u guys still suck more FU and u guys shud be in our division so id hate to break it to you over rated is not bad u guys are over reacting so calm down its only a game we didnt take any of that personally so calm down dont take any of that personally cause ill bet you a million dollars the players dont care cause we didnt care when u said all that
Trojan Man when did you become such a sh8t talker? For the last couple of years you've been a pretty positive Glendora wannabe good guy. I guess you were just trying to fit in with your new area and the new and improved wife. What happened you got drunk again and made a pass at one of the other Glendora Boosters wives and they no longer want you around? What happened to the guy that appreciated good honest high school competition and showed respect to every team in the San Gabriel Valley? You've grown increasingly boorish and vulgar in both your tone and your reasoning. You're that Mexican that acts the part and then "acts the part". You should stay with Rosemead from now on. Hope you weren't one of the idiots yelling "OVER RATED!!!!" from the stands. Especially in front of your impressionable mijo. Thta's pretty classless and as a coach you would have never tolerated that from eithr your players or their parents yet you come on here and agree with that stupidity? You really pissed the coaches off at SEM coming on here and talking all that trash about the quality of play and our coaching effort against RHS. As a former coach at SEM that's a low down dirty a$$ punk thing to do. But then again what do you expect form a Rosemead vieja! One freakin year of some form of success and the big mouth cholo in you comes out. Talking all that trash. What happened when Harvard Westlake kicked the crap out of you? Weren't talking big then where you. Last night the game got away from San Dimas. It's the playoffs and anything can happen...this time it happened to San Dimas. You talk alot about RESPECT and SHOW NONE! TYpical cholo mnetality...Hey homes I want some respecto! Like I said stay away from the Tartan program and stay with the cholo lowlifes at Rosemead where you belong. Next year when Glendora is back on track and Rosemead takes it's usual seat at the back of the bus you'll play the Coconut part again and say "Rosemead who?"
And stop calling yourself Trojan Man when you're nothing more than a Rosemead Veterano on his second wife after the first one threw your punk a$$ to the curb! What college did you play for? Vacaville State? Bet your number looked like this 554551588!
Tra this Tra that..
Good player with ZERO grades. He'll go nowhere.. Ask anyone at school.
#10 Rules..
King S
I understand but we try to follow and implement all the rules set forth by CIF, which includes parental conduct.
That's the only way that we can hold everyone in the program accountable.
I realize Coach can't always be there to control everthing, but we have to find a better approach and address these issues.
It only can better our success. After all, we are the adults needing to set a better example.
I went to the SH game and the QB is overrated, slow foot ketpt getting sack, could not hit a target when it counted.
Is this a D1 talent? No way
SD John:
If you read correctly i said the fans on rosemeads side were chanting OVER RATED were you there? because im sure you heard them... and the rosemeads players were talking sh** to our players as they walked by.. i was right there i heard them... I dont ever recall any of the SD fans chanting anything disrespectful... who's side are you on anyways.. you are always negative about SD... maybe you should change your name...
San Dimas you talk about class ,how about your players talking crap to Tra after he just kicked there butts. A good " NICE GAME" would have been better. Don't point finger until you know the whole story.
Admin.
Congrats to Rosemead on a great season but I have to disagree slightly with your post. A coach is responsible for his players but how he is responsible for the actions of adults? After all these are people who should be responsible for their own actions. I am not at all condoning anyone talking trash but adults should be accountable for themselves. Shame on any adults or parents who were talking trash after that game.
JFR
I was able to watch Rowland last night & have to say the defense was the unit that was impressive. While I would love to see Rowland advance, they are in for a long night against CO, just like every team in the division except DR. If they can get past WC & remain healthy, they may have a shot.
you have to excuse the rosemead fans. they just got there wick program taken away. that is why they are the way they are. that is why they try to mug the other teams. bottom line rosemead still sucks
?? Asks,
I know it's freshmen football, but what area team has the best freshmen team? The only team I know of is San Dimas and Covina. And Covina beat SD.
answer: if u ever saw a South Hills Freshman game you can answer your own question. F'n STUDS. that's all I got to say 'bout that
great year sd
Slaker, thanks for the kind comments, Evan is a horse and when people focus on him Ty takes over. CO has been spoiled for the last three years with these young men. I am very impressed with Rowland after watching film today, no B.S. they can flat out play, very crisp on O.
Dear Mead Fans
I am proud of the way our boys have played on the field, however would question some of the attitudes at the SH game and now SD game. I will address my concerns with Coach K next week since he’s held accountable for the players and parents.
It’s apparent our parents need to lead by example and act in a championship fashion. Sure Football is an emotional sport, but last night’s finale was ridiculous and uncalled for. Some of parents that read this blog I leave you with the following:
We played like champions, but did our parents act like one? There are many examples of winners who taunt those they defeated. There are also champions who are disgruntled in their victory because of one thing or another. Such a person(s) may be the champion or the winner, but he is not a champion because of his attitude. Much of this attitude is learned from the negative philosophy that states, "Win at all costs."
Clean it up folks…
Trojan Man (AKA) Wallace
Be quite, now you can make all the RM games.. LOL
SD MOM,
You are wrong when you say everybody talks crap in the stands. For the most part its the players parents. As for the kids in the stands well they are kids and they do what kids do.
FYI Im not a band member Im a SD band fan.Im also an SD FB fan a matter a fact not only did I go to every game this year Ive been to every SD game for the last 10 YEARS and have sat next to the band. In that time Ive got to know some great kids and parents.(most of whom are band members or parents)Ive also met some not so great people mostly but not all football parents.
GO SAINTS!!!
GO SAINTS BAND!!!
I did not know that the score in the 4th quarter was so close in the Monrovia vs. Rosemead 1 game..It was 28-21 Rosemead with 7:20 left. The final was 42-21.I think if the Cats can control those late mistakes it could be one for the ages...
I was unable to catch the SH DR game last night but i heard it was a great one. i heard D Ranch has an outstanding defense.
Can someone let me now how the game went, who played well, who disapointed, and most of all who showed class.
SD Mom ,
FY as I was having Cocktails @ Bahooka before the game , you want to talk about CLASS ! San Diams fans were there too & complaing about how ugly & bad our little town was , how HORRIBLE the bleachers were . WHAT A JOKE , all week EVERYONE from your town was showing NO RESPECT for our RHS Panthers , including some @ this paper . The Panthers proved everybody wrong . NO EXCUSES San imas . # 43 had a few hits , I have to say I HAVE NEVER seen a LB cut a RB's legs out . W E A K !!!
And that was you stud LB !?
TOLD YOU SO !

I saw the game at Charter Oak I am a believer, #56 Williams was a one man gang , he dominated bigger O line of CV. Must of had 10 to 12 tackles plus assists and hurry ups. Clapper and Peri chipped in but watching Williams push off double teams was amazing. The announcer got hoars say tackle by Williams.
It contributed to totat team effort. Rowland will hate this film.
SDmom are you new to the area? There most certainly are some caves in San Dimas. Just ask some of the players, they've probably been there. They have been a longtime hangout for youth from both San Dimas and La Verne. Know your geography.
FOR SGVGUY....
Keep talking all that crap....and just remember it when #44 is on your tv playing college football...your ignorant and small...
Yes lost our ass...yes every fan talks crap in the stands (to our "band" member) but chanting it to the other team is so petty and really shows the class of the fans.
It is heartbreaking that for some of these boys this was their last football game and Rosemeads fans had to start chanting that crap.
I have been to every game the saints have played this year...we played the worst last night. Only they know why.
This Tra kid played great...good for him...I will watch college football to see if gets selected. And you watch your tv...
and further more if you had done any research on #44 you wouldn't be saying that in the first place...ignorant ass. A players talent is not based upon one game idiot...it's overall performance and there are so many other factors that play into, any intelligent person can figure that out.
Congrats to the Panthers...Sumler played a great game for you...kid can take some hits too.
To the Saints....Great Season...came further than last year, keep it going.
Kyle, Daniel, Eric, Nico.... Brush it off...
Be proud of what you all have done for your team over the season.
To the Seniors- What a great memory of your senior year. Proud of all of you...you guys play with heart.
Azusa players, coaches, parents, and fans. Thankyou for a great year. You made history. Seniors good luck in whatever you do. Under classmen learn from this year, and expand on it next year. Take a couple weeks off, then get back to work.
AZTEC PRIDE, way to stay positive, and support the troops.
Now that Azusa is out bloggin' just won't be the same.
baller72 over and out.
Great Job to all of the players that came out and played this week. They could of stayed home and not practices when they didnt have school. They could of not waken up early on Thanksgiving to go practice. BUT THEY DID.
Congrats to all the boys that laced it up and hit somebody last night. Win or Lose... Good Job Men
Go SGV Teams!
Raul, sorry there are no caves in SAN DIMAS... ever been there?
I wanted to see how good this San Dimas team that every1 was talking about.I was expecting to see a great game because I knew Rosemead was legit. There's nothing worse to me when you show up to a game and just by the first couple smacks in the mouth you can see the opposing team just melt like a marshmellow in a bon fire-well that was an understatement.Rosemead could have fumbled 5x and still would have smacked Dimas in the mouth. As a spectator it was a total mis-match and that all-star rb #44? talk about un-impressive...?
Rosemead will win CIF!
They are physical up-front, they play well as a unit that believes they will win, there Qb is very sound, and of coarse Tra Sumler will put them on his back and take them to the promiseland!
The WSGV 3 - ESGV 0
Rio Hondo/Mission Valley had there way last night with Montview/Valle Vista. Paraclete should finish off the Valle Vista tonight. They're a very good football team...well-coached, disciplined and hungry. All the disrespect talk has been aimed at Rosemead...but Paraclete is no #6 seed. NV will lose tonight...and the hopes of the ESGV will lie outside the Mid-Valley.
Congraulations To The Chargers & The Panthers I doubted the Panthers they proved me wrong. Both of these teams have to take one game at a time now.
SAN DIMAS WAS TOO HIGHLY OVERRATED!!WHEN YOU PLAY WITH THE BIG BOYS IT'S OVER.
Bye Bye San Dimas all that talk from your players and fans the whole year means nothing now.. If I remember correctly right before the first game against Los Altos I said this was San Dimas best team ever yet they were looking at a 2nd round playoff exit.. looks like well I was right! Good Season SD but can't say we didn't tell ya so.
Hanging with all the SD bloggers!!!
HEY WHERE ARE ALL THE HUSKIE BLOGGERS??
Hey Congrats to Rosemead. see alot of simularities of this team with the 82 Champs . The scrappy D. The powerful run game (TRA) and the well balanced air attack.(I was on that 82 Team)All the other teams leading up to this team were either very strong Running teams or very strong passing teams or had o defense. This team has all 3 thats what makes them so explosive. I agree, it is time to Paint another CIF Emblem on the GYM. I wish I could come to a game and see in person this team of destiny. But My son s Team (WC)is on a mission of their own. Hey TRA you are really good.Good luck...HEY has anyone seen Ricky Johnson run the ball. Its pretty amazing what excitement this kids brings everytime he touchs the ball. Good luck Rosemead and GO BULLDOGS
Go back into your cave SD MOM. You have no business talking about class on this board! HaHa. You gotta love this! Remember Zernickow's great quote after the loss to Northview, "A Ring Fits Better Than a Patch!" LOL! All the hype for SD and NOTHING to show for it. Great job Rosemead!

You have alot of room to talk especailly when your team is sitting home and didnt even make the playoffs.
Over-rated Over-rated chanting... talk about NO CLASS.... it even spilled over onto the Rosemead players talking Sh** too.... You dont hear that kind of Chanting From our side....... Rosemead won fair and square but let me just say Tra is Your WHOLE Team... and he is AWESOME.. Kyle Withem had some Great hits last night.. Next year will be another great year.. with our records JV undefeated and freshmen 9-1
Trojan Man
This grad has problems and its called WALLACE.
How's Andy? Have anymore jerseys?
For those of us who saw the power of the Mead way back in July, there is no great glory in saying "told you so". The only thing that can derail this team is the turnover mojo it had throughout the season...and it appears the Mead may have shaken that mojo off. Since the beating Harvard-Westlake layed on the Mead, this team has ratcheted up a level and a level again.
As good as Monrovia is, the Cats will have to elevate to beat the Mead.
It is refreshing to see at least some of the naysayers and doubters - step up and hail the Mead for what they are - an excellent football team.
"over-rated.....over-rated" what is wrong with that? That is what the Rosemead fans were chanting....they were merely echoing what everyone else thought except for some idiots who sit behind a computer and type news articles pretending that they know anything about football....especially CIF officials....football is a game of emotions...if you cant handle it...then go play tennis...or badminton...I was in the stands...I did not shout "over-rated" but as a coach myself...I had no problem with the fans...it as was an ass kicking of the ages...once again....you idiots find some other distraction....the fans...san dimas coming out flat...get off your high horse and just admit it...Rosemeads team is special....CIF is theirs to loose...nobody was saying anything when they went out in the first round the last few years....
I have to admit that Sumler looked impressive all year...but I actually paid attention to his game...he is solid...this kid has speed and power...
However, he was not the most impressive player out there...I have to say that Rosemead's defensive line was the difference...San Dimas fumble some many times because the running back got hit every time when he was just about to get the ball....they did not even have a chance to take a step...
This is great for the MVL...and the entire area...pop warner kids and others could finally see a home team play against teams that are in the same area...as a it should be...
Rosemead will crush their next two opponents....pending that they don't loose their focus....
Odelbo Derf
Wow, Co won again. According to you we cheat and are underhanded. How about AWESOME? Our defense and offense get the job done. Have you ever seen this team play?
You wouldn't want to walk in Big Lou's shoes? I bet most coaches would like to walk in his shoes. I guess we are hated because we produce year after year.
AZTEC PRIDE,
Your kids played a hard, clean game. It just happened to be against a Temple City team that played maybe it's best game of the season defensively.
Best of luck to you and all Azusa players and coaching staff. The hard work that got you into the playoffs - will lead you back there again.
Some first thoughts after one of the most bizarre nights in the valley in a long while.
We mentioned that had we liked Rosemead to defeat San Dimas, but I don't think anyone foresaw this type of result. Kudos to the Panthers and coach Koffler for a job well done.
As for San Dimas, they will be back...no question about it and they are a top-5 team in the area when we talk over the spring.
Charter Oak continues to roll, but the Chargers have a little tester on Friday night at Rowland. The Raiders have athletes that are capable of making the night a long for CO. You can be sure that if Rowland gets their hands on the Rancho Cucamonga game, they will watch that game a billion times. It'll be closer game than you think.
We were in attendance at the SH vs. DR game and what a game it was. Never have I seen a game come down to special team. And just when you thought that SH was good to go into the semis, one broken play beats them. DR came to be play...but so did SH. You all thought I was crazy when I mentioned in last week's two minute drill about SH Frosh running back Jamel Hart, well, mark my words....PAC-10 kid!
As the for the DR vs. WC game, wow, this is going to be a slug fest. Both teams love to run the ball and play pretty darn good defense. Too bad it's on the same night as Upland vs. Los Osos (Part two). And if it means anything, I like LO in the game.
We mentioned that the Sierra League might go 3-0, well they went 0-3 and are done for the season. The LO vs. Chino Hills game was as tight as we thought, but what a semifinal we have in store on Saturday night in the central division.
And to prove to you that anything can happen, we were talking a highly respected area asst. coach before the SH vs. DR game and he told me that he thought that Sherman Oaks Notre Dame was going to win the Pac-5 title. Well, OL took of that. It makes BA's win back in week 1 all the more impressive.
I'll end this post with what we said of ESPN 710 last night, I GUARANTEE THAT ROSEMEAD WILL WIN THE MID-VALLEY DIVISION CROWN! Sorry Koff for putting all the pressure on you.
Hope to run into you at the SC vs. Notre Dame game!
Odelbor Derf "so clever", another drive-by PUSS bagging on CO because his sorry team is sitting at home. Our practice field is off of Cypress just east of Glendora blvd, please stop by and visit us this week.
Yes, and I am sure it was mostly from "SD MOM". I read her blogs and most had no class at all.
You need to learn to stand with your kid and his team. and it needs to be done with class. Like I know several SD parents do.
You had a great season. No one can take that from you.
For as much as it hurts to say I think the RHS fans may have been right. We (SD) were overrated. Also I went to every SD game this year and after every game I heard alot of s**t talking from parents and fans. That was directed towards the other HIGH SCHOOLS.So before you start to say anything about RHS remember you reap what you sow.
GO SAINTS!!!
GO SAINTS BAND!!!
cocky qb + idiot linebacker = district field tears!
aint no pity in husky city u wanted the chargers now ur just home feelin shi***
This post will be short and sweet.First off before I get started let me Sincerly congratulate all of the Final Four Teams in all of the Divisions. It is truly a special deal going to the Semis. This message is strictly intended for Fred Robledo.I would say thanks for the motivation, but your picks were so full of $hit that we couldn't even use it.Just because you work for the lower end of Mid-Valley Football(Valle Vista,Montview) doesn't mean you have to be such a friggin homer.Remember Freddy where your from. When just a short time ago you were a true believer. All year long I have heard you talk about how we are not this or that or Valle Vista is the strongest league in the Mid or Duarte is just to much second time around or How can you stop San Dimas offense. It goes on and on and on.Listen my man go interview how good AMAT is going to be next season or tell me how deep South Hills is.And after Paraclete beats Northview tomorrow this years work in the Mid-Valley is done.Or maybe Miguel throws you a bone and lets you share MEAD,but even then you really know which side of the 605 there on. I don t mean to rave being a friend an all but I could only take so much.Listen my Bruin brother I have enough things to worry about(OUR BRUINS)during the football season besides your crazy @$$ picks.Love you my man.Maybe you will finally show your face down in the old neighborhood for Rosemead vs. Monrovia 2 there is a lt we have to talk about.I know you have definitely seen some good Football games there before.
Go Cats
Go Bruins

Congratulations, your wisdom has "shined" through.
"War Panthers" right? One goof year does not equal a tradition of winning. I don't recall Rosemead "bringing the wood" when it was Arroyo taking the MVL title or when South El Monte got it.
qwerty says:
[ yeah we (rosemead fans) were lacking class at the end of the game. but you have to understand that we weren't too happy being placed relatively low in the pairing and having to play san dimas in the second round. ]
Still crying about placement in the playoffs will never excuse the stupidity in the actions of those fans (not all Rosemead fans, I hope).
Then again I don't recall the blog fans of Rosemead getting behind the other MVL teams when they got further than Rosemead in the previous CIF Playoffs.
Maybe in a year and a half Tra Sumler can apply for Washington, lord knows they need some talent from the bottom of the barrel
It really doesn't matter in any fashion. CO RULES THE SGV!
ROCK ON CHARGERS!
DUARTE WAS IN THE SEMIS TWO YEARS AGO, THE FIRST YEAR OF THE MID VALLEY DIVISION, BEFORE IT WAS RECONFIGURED, IT WAS JUST ANNOYING SEEING IN THE NEWSPAPER THAT DUARTE IS NEWCOMERS TO THIS AND THAT CRUTCHFIELD HAS NO EXPERIENCE IN THIS KIND OF SITUATION.
saint4life,
yeah we (rosemead fans) were lacking class at the end of the game. but you have to understand that we weren't too happy being placed relatively low in the pairing and having to play san dimas in the second round. This was a tremendous win for the panthers, so things mightve gone out of hand. On my behalf i will apologize for our actions. goodluck to you guys next year.
Dan, I had RJ for 208.
We (San Dimas) came out flat, PERIOD. You can't hand over the rock three times in your own red zone in the first quarter and expect good results. None of those fumbles were forced. And as far as Rosemead, they HAD to have a flawless night, and they succeeded. We choked, they didn't - they won the game.
I'm not exactly sure how much class it DOESN'T take for a crowd to cheer "OVER-RATED" towards a HIGH SCHOOL team that certainly didn't deserve that, but my hat goes off to ROSEMEAD FAN for showing the least amount of class possible.
Despite the classless fans, I wish Rosemead (the football team) well in the playoffs!
GO SAINTS!
FEAR THE MEAD?
Fear the Lancer child...
You dream of the big top?
You dream of the stage?
You dream of competing against the best of best?
Become a man and join the few who know...
Win or Lose you become Legend...
Amat will shine as you will...
Great win tonight West Covina. and Ricky Johnson was awesome rushing for over 200 yds. Hey the Bulldogs are where they are at because of steady play by a young QB George Jonhson and a O-Line that kicks some A--!
#62 A.Martinez, #68 R.Tejeda, #69 Big Dog Patrick, #64 J.J. Madrid and Big #72 Alberto Cid. Props to the guys who live in the trenches. Good Luck Next week. GO BULLDOGS!
One last thought,
Diamond Ranch, I knew after the Amat game that you guy's had a legit team and I could see your victory over South Hills coming this week, I also had the same feeling about Rosemead over San Dimas, I felt that this years version of Rosmead plays at a level that is on par or very close to our Southeast div. playoff teams, congrat's on your win.
Looking forward to a great game between D-Ranch
and West Covina 2 good teams and I know that both our teams will bring it that night, may the best team win and I'm hopeing that will be our Bulldogs.
One other thing,
Looks like WC found a new reciever tonight.
Thank you Steve R. for the
WC vs Burbank updates,
Congratulations West Covina for a hard fought win tonight, it got a little scary for a while but you stepped up again in the 4th quarter when the crunch time came. Burbank you fought hard too
just like Bulldogs should, nothing to hang your head about, your a worthy team.
Coach Mike Maggiore lost his offensive coordinator and his defensive coodinator, and his starting quarterback all before the season started, yet he has this team in the semi finals, I'd say that would make a fine coach of the year, no matter what happens from here on out.
Steve,
How many yards did Ricky Johnson have tonight? I would guess well over 200, plus he also had big yards on the 2 kickoff returns he ran.
?? Asks,
I know it's freshmen football, but what area team has the best freshmen team? The only team I know of is San Dimas and Covina. And Covina beat SD.
Monrovia won League at all (3) Levels (Var 8-2) (JV 1 loss) (Freshman 1 loss)
Same in Baseball Won League all 3 Levels.
Diamond Ranch truly was the better team tonight. There defense was tough they hit Cam hard and square in the mouth. They looked great and like i said earlier do not take them lightly because they are 5-6... now 6-6 they are a very legit team!
As for the Huskies huge ups to #35 Jamel Hart who for a freshman ran very hard tonight. And to #3 Andrew Roddy, he played the game of his life, with Umodu covered by Sermons they looked his way and he excelled.
Congrats to the DR they were a classy group who EARNED everything they achieved so far. Congrats and take it to the Bulldogs!!
Nice win by Rowland over La Serna tonight...The game was not ever really close as La Serna QB's threw at least 5 interceptions, and they lost at least 3 fumbles as well. I though tonights game would be tougher than last weeks, which we barely squeeked by 1 pt over burroughs. Rowland continued with some big plays on offense to score when needed...Rowland has improved at lot in the last few weeks...It's been fun to watch...
sh CHONKED.
NUFF SAID. CHONKED.
Absolutely a great game at CDF!
Diamond Ranch, what can you say? It's been a low tough ride but where other teams would have folded up and hid in a corner you guys came out swinging.
Remarkable team. Coach Roddy Layton did something really special this year. He ket his players play and his coaches coach. Diamond Ranch parents love this guy. They might not always agree with him or understand his methods but they love the team.
How many teams feed the player before and after the game?
South Hills may have been the better team bu in th eplayoffs the better team moves on. Diamond Ranch will move one.
The defense and offense is as resilient as any I've seen this year. Just a great group of coaches, parents, players and fans. Coach Layton should be the Coach of the Year for keeping his team together during what would have a disasterous year for any coach.
Best of luck against West covina. After tonight it will be tough to bet agaiinst DR!
Just incredible!
SH looked like crap, played like crap and is crap. That OL sucked so bad it was embarrassing. They didn't deserve to be on that field. OL lost it for the team. No blocking, no hitting, no nothing. Deen had no protection and there was alot of bad play calling. Don't understand why they needed to air it out everytime. DR say it coming and stopped it. DR did a hell of a job. Good luck.
hey choke, stfu. if rosemead was going to choke, they wouldve choked already. your just the a$$ that says it over and over everyweek but it hasnt happened so far.
Wow....The doubts, come as no surprise. Keep feeding us. We will continue to be quiet and work hard.
South Hills, what can we say?? AN Extremely well coached team. QB is defintitely stud. Havent seen but one QB (Terry Peredez, Bonita) all year through the ball so precise and hard. Any #35, Heart will be special in the forth coming years. #3 very smart and football saavy reciever, Knows how to read defenses well. Great team.
DR, held this talented team to 1 TD, and 2 field goals. We look forward to another great contest with West Covina next week. COngrats on the Win CO!!!
SH.......SHHHH!!!lol
rojan Man JUMPS SHIP...some how he FORGOT about Glemdora. You're a classless joke rojan Man. First you came on here and dogged your former coaching buddies at South El Monte and now you bag on San Diams like a 15 year old. Yes you won but San Dimas was not over rated. Some one has to lose and in this case you won and San Dimas lost. Shoyld some class and some adult sportsmanship. Do me a favor and get off the Trojan Bandwagon. We don't need braggards and loudmouths making the Trojans out to be a new chapter of Rosemead transplanted Raoder Nation Loud Mouths.
Grow up dude!
San Dimas, South Hills & even Azusa dusted. Wow, even the league realignments couldn't help shelter the San Gabriel Valley football teams within their new divisions. All the teams are exposed for their true worth, San Gabriel Valley football is crap. Crap, crap, crap. That is why there will be no CIF Championships here this year for true San Gabriel Valley teams. Don't forget what happened to Glendora tonight too. San Gabriel Valley Football is a joke. Has been, is and will always be.
Thank god for Charter Oak, a program that breaks all the rules - a win at all costs type of program - and may be the most hated, but it goes to show you that cheating and underhandedness pays off. Big Lou 'No Soul' (or personality, mind you) Farrar, gosh I'd hate to walk a day in his shoes.
Good luck Northview and here's to West Covina over Diamond Ranch. Roddy Layton is and will be a Big Lou type of coach as soon as he figures things out.
I wonder who out of Monrovia, Rowland, West Covina or Northview will go farthest? I am guessing West Covina or Rowland.
[Definitely Not A Rosemead Fan Or A San Dimas Fan]
You're Not Done Yet Rosemead. Two Games To Go Before You Can Vindicate Your Season and the 27 Year Drought Of CIF "glory".
So Don't Get Excited Just Yet, Cause You Still Are Prone To Choke And Choke You Will. And From There, There Is Only ONE Thing Left To Fear.......
FEAR THE OFFSEASON!
Rosemead one game at a time and look what happens. Monrovia better be ready because the Panthers are for real!

HEIGHTS UP !!!
ROWLAND ROMPS AGAIN !!!
.......ONLY contenders from the SA .....NO PRETENDERS !!
yeah rosemead! for all the doubters, suck it!!!! rosemead is not a 1-dimensional team and san dimas is not going to run easy on a tough rosemead defense and rosemead will bring the wood.

I talked to Fred after the game for a second & he brought up San imas had 4 turnovers ...TAKE EM & we STILL WIN ! RHS earned some respect tonight, Tra Sumler is the BEST RB in the SGV hands down ! And NO the San imas comment is not a type o ,
San imas has no D !!!
FIGHT ON PANTHERS !!!!

Great job tonight Charter Oak that a baby Chris Allen and Adam Muema great game thanks for the memories Crescenta Valleyand once again my hats off to another victory Diamond Ranch who knows maybe we will see you in the FINALS.But first bring on the Rowland Raiders and by the way Rowland we will bring it our "A" GAME that is we will be ready because like I said before we are the Chargers and we will be back in the FINALS and we are and will be th best in the sgv.
I have to admit the Panthers kicked SanDimas A____SS..SanDimas three fumbles in the 1st qtr killed them.As for Azuza Can Every Body Say Over Rated!!!!
Any scores for Ayala or Chino Hills?
Congratulations West Covina on a great win tonight.
Also, it's really funny how this world turns sometimes.
This evening, Orange Lutheran beats Notre Dame, yet earlier this year Amat beat Lutheran, and Notre Dame in turn creamed Amat. Wow !
Anyhow, next week we have Diamond Ranch against West Covina in a very interesting game.
I'll be there to root on the Bulldogs.
Good luck next Friday.
Montview still has to show what they think they CAN do! Congrats to all the winning teams!

As usal WC gets no respect but keeps on rolling. South Hills was a pretender from day one, and for some reason the Trib writers love SH. At the end of the day the Bulldogs outwork, out hustle, and outmuscle because of coach Maggiorre. Maggiorre has taken a less talented bunch of kids and has guided them to play better than than their talent shows. Caoch of the Year accolades should be coming this year regardless of what happens to the WC in the semis.
Duarte and Azusa Both Lost 2nite....
Guess The Rio Hondo Outplayed The Montview..
So What...Atleast You Guys Know That the montview is becoming a threat and are ready to compete and get the job done with exceptions to some teams...lol
Congrats to both monrovia and temple city for their victories...
And to Duarte And Azusa
You guys are true football players and what a great run it was.....
Always and forever will be
Falcon Pride.....
to bad Azusa couldn't pull this game off. maybe next year. MAYBE!
Sorry for the big gap, but WC wins it 49-28, with the play of the game turned in by RJ, who goes for 70 yards and a 35-28 lead with just over six minutes to play. The Bulldogs then recover a fumble and go up 42-28 with just over two minutes to play on a 43-yard TD catch by Anthony Molina from George Johnson. WC adds a consession score late for the final 49-28 count.
Fred said,
RIO HONDO VS. MONTVIEW
I made a comment earlier this season that not much separated the top teams in the Rio Hondo and Montview, and heard plenty from our sensitive Westside neighbors. Well, we're about to find out. The best two teams in each league go head-to-head in the quarters, Duarte-Monrovia and Temple City-Azusa. Now that we're here, I'm going on record taking the Montview in a sweep. Just like DRanch-Muir, its hard to beat a good team twice, especially a rival. Plus, Falcons RB Jordan Canada was nowhere near as healthy as he is now, and it's at D-Town. Azusa made me a believer too, and has a great match-up against run-oriented Temple City, which fits right into their game plans. That's right, two Montview league teams in the semifinals. Don't laugh, it's gonna happen.
Who's Laughing now fred? Haha...
Rowland wipes la serna bring on co they better be ready.
Does anyone know about the ayala game?
RioHondo League (2) Montview Zipppp!!
Congratulations Cats!! and Rams!!
I gotta say Robledo is consistent he called both games wrong!!
Azusa nice run, just can't play when it really counts. Montview disappoints again.
Burbank, getting a 44-yard pass from Hunter goes up 28-21 on 13-yard run by Leo Rodas with 11:34 left. WC comes right back and ties it at 28 on a 25-yard run by Jon Hernandez with 10:03 left.
Still 21-21 after 3
Just left the Rosemead - San Dimas game at halftime...
It was that lopsided, Panthers 34 - Saints 7...
I know there were alot of Saint turnovers and penalties but the bottom line is the Panthers are for real and play at another level...
Joe Colt...
Burbank opens the second half with an 84-yard drive and ties it, 21-21, on a 1-yard sneak by Hunter with 7:31 left in the quarter.
And we are at halftime with WC leading, 21-14
It's becoming the Ricky Johnson show. He runs 50 yards and WC takes a 21-14 lead with 1:27 left in the half. RJ has 117 yards rushing.
6-3 Diamond Ranch with 2:11 left in half.
south hill's punted and with one play they ran 66 yards for a TD. they missed the extra point
WC drives 70 yards to tie the score. WC faced a fourth and 11 from the Burbank 41, but George Johnson tosses 31 yards to the 10...RJ takes it in from there, making it 14-14 with 8:34 left in the half...Fred just called me and said San Dimas fumbled four times in the first half and trails Rosemead, 27-0...Wow!
3-0 South Hills.
South Hills punting with 2:38 left in half.
Burbank drives 72 yards and takes a 14-7 when Kevin Hunter tosses 21 yards to Cody Cardenaz on the final play of the quarter.
Ricky Johnson returns the kickoff 63 yards to the Burbank 25, but WC gives the ball up on downs. But Ray Covarrubias picks off a pass and returns back to the barn for a 40-yard TD, tying the score at 7 with 3:45 left.
Burbank drives 56 yards and takes a 7-0 lead on a 6-yard run by Nate Galles with 7:02 left in the first quarter.
Ricky Johnson returns the opening kickoff 30 yards to the West Covina 40. WC goes back from there. George Johnson is sacked for a 5-yard loss and two runs get 8 yards..WC punts.
Hi all,
I'm covering the West Covina-Burbank game. I just arrived, and there's no power outlet in the press box, other than the one for the announcer's mic. But I will boot up my laptop around game time and try and provide updates. I was able to post this on my IPhone.
Almost game time baby!!!!!!!!! those speeches got me fired up. cresenta valley you are now entering the danger zone!!!
Dranch we are coming and the Dawgs will prevail! and the Mead will beat the saints. CO much respect for your boys, see you in the SHIP! AINT NO PITY IN HUSKY CITY! SUWOOP! EAST SIDE UGLIES!
I know it's freshmen football, but what area team has the best freshmen team? The only team I know of is San Dimas and Covina. And Covina beat SD.
Tonight is THE NIGHT !

Crescecta Valley. Welcome to Charter Oak, Charger Stadium. House of pain and suffering for visiting teams. Leave the kids at home, batten down the hatches and meet the Miramonte league Champions.Lets get it on. Play hard , play safe. You will be able to tell your kids someday you met the Chargers at home. You played hard in defeat, and were better for the experience.
YOU HAD THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE.
Lets go Saints!!!!!Play smart and safe...... SAINTS SAINTS SAINTS SAINTS..... Good Luck!!!! Good Health to ALL the players playing tonight!!!!!
OldSchoolPanther lets wait and see promises promises.Koffler and his predictable play calling will Choke again!!!!!
Duarte vs Monrovia...
Monrovia is indeed a great foorball team.
But those Falcons are a good team to...
monrovia did not play these falcons. and the game was close..
