Mark,
That's old news. The team was the Midget Lobos. Also bringing in players cut or who quit HS teams to fill positions where players who had been with the team from day 1 . It has been said a few parents blew the whistle on the coach and rightfully so if they were doing those types of moves.

Just skip over the comments your not interested in. It's like television, just flip the channel.

MSACWIN,
I guess Whitey didn't get that my post on the Prep Sports blog was a reefer to let people know what I wrote on the Afterpreps blog. And like I explained to him, and what Fred has in the past, just because a post doesn't get a lot of comments, doesn't mean people are not looking at it. I believe our ratio for views/comments is something like 10/1.

"ok it's Steve then and it's still a reach to write an atricle about Pierce, this is the prep blog? correct then write about preps who played HS here and maybe went out of the area to play, common sense, do you sell this rag called the trib in Paramount? does anyone come to this website from there? I'm the only guy who has responded to this article, guess the content/subject is of little interest to those of us in the sgv!"
Is this Whitey guy serious? How about some constructive put, or better yet, just ignore this segment of the blog if you don't like it.
Fred had posted a story about Ian Johnson (local kid from Damien, and his new role at Boise St.) in this segment, and people had no input about Ian and hijacked the topic with baseball posts.
Fred, you are someone on the staff need to start deleting posts, these boards have turned into a mess.

Whitey,
Read my reply again. The afterpreps blog covers former prep stars who played in the area. But we also we like to let people know what our past stars from the local colleges are up to, especially if they are still playing professionally, like Antonio Pierce.
I used to cover this in the newspaper, under my Local Connection column, but now we cover it on the afterpreps blog.
And we have found, when you look at the page view numbers, that people care about the local colleges, they just don't make as many comments. But we still provide a service to let people know what they are doing, whether they are prep stars or area college stars from the area.
I hope this answers your questions.

Steve I want to tell you this blog is getting worse by the day. Sometimes I thought it was just a certain group who like to act like bullified fhigh school students but I think there is something deeper and more morbid at wrk here.
You gave "us" a look at your vacation an dI thought that was pretty cool. Never been to New York but it did inspire me to go. I was fun reading about your adventures.
Some thought it was the perfect time to try and punk you. And they certain;y did try. I wonder how many more memories you would have shared if not for the drive by specialists.
That kind of blog culture was nutured by Aram and to a certain extent the Catholic school crowd who have no limits to their hypocrisy. Not all for sure just the special ones who do flog, I mean blog, frequently.
Now it's Fred turn. I knew something was wrong when the word "mayate" was let pass. Too bad. Now with Obama as president the racist comments are the new blog material. Whatever, the point I'm trying to make is ...it's gone too far. It's not fun to read that kind of hateful speech. When someone like whitey takes the time to try and make you look foolish I wonder only on ething.....HOW OLD IS THIS GUY?
What difference does it make whitey? Why try and split the hairs? Seriously. I think you own Steve an apology. Grow up.

Whitey,
First off, please address me as Steve. I give you the proper respect, and all I ask is that you give it to me in return.
I do know where Antonio Pierce went to high school. He is from Paramount High School, and his local tie is that he played two years at Mt. San Antonio College, which is a local school. The Prep Stars blog is mostly to give props to former area high school stars, but we also give props to former players who played at our local colleges, whether it be Antonio Pierce, Brett Tomko, or Christian Okoye, none of which prepped in this area, but shined for our local colleges.

only ramirez would consider Pierce to have sgv ties, he was a "recruit" do you even know where he played HS football at? thought so, it's like saying Keith Rivers has la ties, he was from St Marys Fl. kind of a stretch for an article, after you guys promote the strength of the sgv hs teams
