I'm very glad that Chris Allen is getting the recognition he deserves. Ever since he took the reigns his sophmore season, Charter Oak has been a different ball club.

As for the comments about the Charter Oak transfer des, it sounds like bitter nonsense. I can't speak for every Charger player but I personally know Chris. Every school he went to had Oak in it.

So until you can find evidence and name some names, please refrain from the assanine comments about Charter Oak getting all of their players from Pasedena. Not only is it childish but it paints a negative picture for everyone who isn't in the know.

Watched C O against Diamond Bar, Damien, Bonita, and the Championship Game against DR.

DON , what games did you see?
Perri went both more than any on line. Williams went O line when Dunbar was injured a couple of games., played nose when Clapper was not available for 1 game. Williams went at FB when Perri was sick and not up to par. Both Williams and Perri along with Clapper and Dunbar did not see much action in blow out games which were many in 3rd and 4th quarter,This cut their stats.

To Around Campus, Who did I bash? I will state my opinion again for you. Chase Price is a great kid and will without a doubt be the featured back at DRanch for the next two years. However, this 2nd team all Miramonte League selection is for what he accomplished THIS year. He was the fourth (not sure how many yards Gus gained, so maybe fifth) leading rusher on his team. I gave him the benifit of a doubt and said he didn't gain 500 yards this year and am now told that he didn't gain 300. My question was, "How could he be all league 2nd team?" BTW Tyler is Roddy's son. After seeing that the Damien coach got his son on the Sierra League list I figured Roddy would do the same. That he didn't, shows that Roddy is a class act. Oh snap, did I just "bash" Roddy now?

MVP should be the transfer clerk at Charter Oak!!

Johnny Medina is on the list as a 2nd team WR, Fred just accidentally put him as from "Bonia" (no t). And Aureli? Seriously? Being 6'7" does not make you a good blocker, just a big body. Aureli was......nevermind. My Mom told me if I don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all.

Two offensive MVP's and four Defensive MVP's. That really tarnishes the value of an MVP! Why not four offensive MVP's and maybe four POY's?? Ah hell, let's make em all MVP's they all had a great season!!! Patches for everyone!! Were do you draw the line?? That's obviously grey matter now! Although all the players on this list have had a good season and you could make a good case for several more for MVP honors, it should have been much less. There wasn't four defensively, sorry. POY could have went to either Adam or Chris, as both were impressive and both got rings! The value and honor in the award is it's limited number! Don't let Tebow and McCoy hear about this!!!

How can leave Matt Orosco from Wilson off any of the all league teams. Not only did he always match up against the opposing teams #1 receiver and regularly shut them down. On offense as a receiver he also was defended by the best db on the opposing team. Everytime he was thrown the ball he was money . Take a look at his receiving yards. Even though he and his fellow Wildcats had to put up with the new head coach(Hoyt) thats no reason to be left off those all- league teams.

Coaches did a good job selling players cause I can not believe that fred would pick some players that did not have an impact at all.

Brandon Golden led the area in picks and he didnt make 1st or 2nd team at DB, but first team at RB.

Getting awards for a team that's 1-9 or 0-10 is just frekin ridiculous.

congradulations to all, but something is really weird to me..why isn't that kid Johnny Medina from LA on one of those teams or that other kid Aurelli..the 6'7 tackle..ive seen these kids play and they got skills..i just think some kids got robbed

It would help if we knew what class ALL these all league players are. Last time I looked there were 11 per team, plus punt and pat specialists. What a joke indeed.

Grim, if this is what it's coming to I hope I'm 75% of the way there. I'll be 40 next year so who knows ?

Looking just at the first team O, I would suggest that four Running Backs is at least one too many and maybe two. The QB pick is solid but S I X offensive linemen AND a Tight End? No way; pick five including the TE. If he actually catches the ball like at C O and Bonita, call him the TE, otherwise just include him as a OL.
Three WR are fine since several of these teams ran Ace or Spread O's but why TWO PK's. The Brown kid has done a splendid job for three years but was clearly outkicked this year by Highley who had better #'s in every category but two, one of which was a tie.

On Defense, select the best FOUR DB's, LB's, and DL's. That's enough to cover any formation run in the league. Five is too many, especially when you have TWO more Linebackers and TWO more DB's as Defensive MVP's. Too much dilution.
Daniel Colby was the best punter in the league, maybe not the best stats, but totally clutch.

I'm not sure things have changed all so much over the years.

Looking at an all Whitmont All-League Team from the early 70's I see 12 First Team Offense (11 + K), 12 First Team Defense (11 + P), 11 each Second Team O & D (no kickers), and 12 Honorable Mention (1 kicker). Also named is an MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and Offensive Player of the Year. 59 Players total.

Not so different than what we have now except for the Honorable Mention thingie.

Wow! I thought the Sierra League All League Team was a joke. This was even worse! Chase Price (great kid) second team? He missed the first four games and I'll bet he didn't gain 500 yards this season. I can't believe Roddy couldn't get Tyler on this team. People's blogs are right on. Shorter list would be who didn't make the list.

The Miramonte League coaches made these picks, as I understand it. I also understand that they cannot vote for a player on their own team. It's a 5 team league. So if 4 guys tied, they tied at 1 vote a piece, further diminishing the accomplishments of someone; or everyone.

Let's vote for cheerleader of the year next.

In the four C O games I saw this year, pretty much everyone playing on the Offense saw time on the other side of the ball.

Some of this is just wrong, some is politics, and some, as pointed out is kind of silly.

Its, however, consistent with what everyone else seems to be doing. The Serra had something like 56 on their all-league team, the Sierra 62, the V V had 58. Last year the hallowed All -Trinity League found 76 boys worth of their post season accolades.

Maybe there could be one set of awards for individual excellence and another set for “team achievement”. Clearly, some of the awards here, or at least their placement, reflect the success of the player's team rather than the outstanding play of the individual. Both worthy of consideration, but maybe not comparison.
