For the record ...
We incorrectly reported that Rowland has never played in a CIF football championship, but Mike Chambers, class of 1968, emailed to set the record straight. Here's what he wrote.
If you look back in the record books you will discover Rowland went to the CIF finals (in 1966 losing to Neff High School, 32-13). In 1966 we ( Rowland) ended our season in a three way for the league championship and won a coin flip and was the only school in the league to go to the playoffs ( a lot different than today when almost everyone makes the playoffs). It was the last year Wayne Kurlack was the Rowland Head Coach as he then became an administrator outside the District. I know this to be true as I was there as a member of the team.

Fred,
For the record...will you be posting anything soon about the local boys soccer programs?
Thanks.
