There is some wrong information in this article and I am trying to find out who was the original writer and which paper published this. It has been less that 20 years since the CC team went to state. Try 11 years! I know because I was on the team that competed in Fresno for the 1997-1998 season. Please let me know where this in formation is from so that I may see that my teammates and I receive recognition for OUR achievements as well!

still confused. . . i guess that's just part of the game. . . things will happen that dont always appear to be right or make sense. Just like some athletes will have better times, but just because of being div I or II schools some athletes will never be at a state meet. And let's not forget the horrible heat some runners had to run in this past season.

Steve that crazy. it's no wonder I have to get the LA Times to see the Business. California and Real estate sctions of the paper. The Tribune to see iF they covered anything worth reading locally, Sports included. And when I don't have time or the patience to read 3 papers I just get the Bulletin. They cover the most sports, pros, local colleges, local pro teams, area minor league teams in all sports, area high school players and interesting player bios and POY and National News related to ALL Sports.

The Tribune does what? An occassion local sports story and a smiggen of something no one will ever know for sure...and now the boubdaries are muddy?

Seriously the Bulletin killlllls you guys when it comes to covering local sports and making the All Area selections.

A few years ago Rabe didn't make Tribune ALL Area but made Bulletin 1st team. Look at this years selections. Most if not all the selections were ALL CIF selections. Most have Div 1 rides waiting for them or were being considered. How do I know this? I read and save every year's All Area Selection papers for the past 6 years.

I've seen Pete Marshall on a few sidelines and the guy is a pro. Rosemead doesn't belong to this area. Better yet can anyone tell me how many schools aren't being represented that would have to be included IF Rosemead really was in our Area?

That's a farce. Rosemead?

Why is it silly? Rosemead was a Trib school long before it was ever anexed by Star-News. Its now under both because its part of both circulation areas, either through home delivery, or street sales. The reason one is Area POY and only on the first team for the other is because the the sample of the Tribune players is a different sample from that of the Star-News, although there are some players who are in both, just as there are some similar players in both the trib and bulletin areas, but the overall samples are different.

Steve that logic is bogus. Look at Rosemead. They don't belong in the Tribune area. It's silly really to make Tre Sumler teh POY over there and an All Area player over hear. The Daily Bulletin has teh best All area representation. But the Trib has the most active blog.

Maybe Trojan Man's constatnt need for respect and attention has jaded you guys. That's props to Trojan Man but sucks for area players. Cut it off at the 605 fwy.

Hey Tre was tough but he isn't Gaise.

They can make both because we at the Tribune and Miguel and Keith Lair at the Star-News both cover that particular school, although the athletes that we each use to compare one an other are different. In my opinion, just because one makes one paper's list, it shouldn't penalize him from making the other's list as well.

I am new to XC - so can anyone explain how an athlete can be on the all area first team for both SGV tribune & pasadena star news?
the athlete definately should be recognized but just wondering if that takes away from another athlete making the list
