joe and I use the lower case, becaus I am and will always be the original JOE AMAT, check out the student handbook from 64 will you please, that is me, I am JOSREPH A AMAT!, PG was not an All Angelus League BB man. and please tell me that my cohorts are still in centerfield, a mini Yankee stadium tribute to one of the best pitchers in CIF history, little fat Frankie O'Connor and to my man Manny Estrada, the original Cuban Bomber! now wait till I call Clements and Caropino and tell them the school has tarnished their stature...................

Joe Amat said:

Easy now....Pete was All-Angelus league!

if no one posts do they really play? said:

does anyone really care about girls BB, I mean most of the posts here are off subject!

delagardelle? you mean Pete? he played BB? where in PE class?

BIG DADDY said:

Fred,
Any scores from last night?? We really need a Basketball score board now.

the game with the smaller ball said:

what? did they unretire Caropinos jersey and Clements too? how does that happen, is it like John Galvin field in Ontario, oops now Jay Littleton field? hmmmmmm

Joe Amat said:

Wow...
et al = Storing, Flores, Kisselburg, Branich, Acosta, Wulf, Delagardelle, Tanner, all th eway to Porter and the only retired jersey-Haywood.

Here's the kicker on how bad it is. One of the '88 Lamb twins son, Tyler, is one of the top recruits in the nation. Commited to UCLA after his sophomore year. And he's going to.... Mater Dei!

woulda/coulda/shoulda been a Lancer!

the game with the small ball said:

ahhh the memories of Bragg,James,Clements,Caropino,McManus,McLeanSalter,Haden.Purdom,Jennings, and Lear et al........ now they could have/shouldhave had a great gym to play in

Joe Amat said:

That does hurt. True... but still hurts.

Thankfully for the Amat boys the ladies graduated some studs and their coach left to pursue an Administrative Credential. That leaves them with a rookie coach and replacing their two leading scorers and rebounders. They'll be good... but they are not "Aram's Chicas" that we remember.

So the game against the guys might be closer. The boys have a pretty decent guard returning, but the girls still might have the edge in the coaching category. Too bad the majority do not concern themselves as much with upholding tradition of Friday night hardwood as they do on the gridiron and have let things deteriorate to this point. That's the next big upgrade on campus the Lancers need.

yes, I do like to watch the gals in skirts play, powder puff FB, field hockey, Iowa girls BB.all live on the BIG10 network or ESPN Paraquay..hey Joe? hows that Amat girls BB team gonna be in the interim, are they still able to whip the boys team, man that hurts.. just to mention that, even in a half-jesting manner.

Joe Amat said:

you're just looking for female athletes that compete in skirts !:?)

is there a message board for girls field hockey? now, that is a sport! girls with sticks, chasing that small ball, what more can you want and popular too(pakistan, nepal, bangladesh to name a few powers)

I went to Drake in the 70's Joe Amat and have great memories of womens BB, lol.I might have been intoxicated that one time tho, I knew there were 6 players at a time, maybe I was confused by the short skirts they wore, but I thought the six were divided in three on each side, it looks like the game with the smaller ball, now has as many posts as the game with the bigger ball, lol

Joe Amat said:

Common misconception.

Actually ...Two girls on each team had full run of the floor while two were restricted to defending at one end and two waiting to score at the other.

Glad I could clear that up.

You might want to make your plans now for a summer trip to DesMoine, Iowa (that played that way until the early'90s) for the July performance of "Six-on -Six : the Musical"

I kid you not!

to update....I concur with all previous posters, except the man from the Czech Republic, Mr. Reality.who refuses to answer my questions about the 3 on a side or the basket being 10feet high or the ball being inflatable or A Nerf type ball, right on, wizard of womens BB!

reality czech said:

it seems to me that you're "wasting precious minutes of computer time"
coming on every hour to check the status of your ignorant posts.
the reality is I'm picking a Covina/Walnut finla

the game with the smaller ball said:

if you respond to a post, that doesn't really address the subject matter of the article written, are you just wasting precious minutes of computer time in the local library, or were you lost and stumbled upon the "wizard of womensBB" the game with the smaller ball!

reality czech said:

if you post and nobody responds-did you really say anything? or are you just wasting your time.
They say talking to yourself is not a sign of insanity-but answering yourself is!

the game with the smaller ball said:

is it me or do they play 3 on a side still? is the basket 10 feet high? is it a nerf ball or inflated? I still concur with all previous posters, 100%

the game with the smaller ball said:

seriously, I concur fully with all previous posts, however if they play and nobody posts , did they really play?

the game with the smaller ball said:

I concur with all the previous posts, 100%

the game with the smaller ball said:
