Getting to the Pac-5 finals would be great for the Lancers. THAT would mean we are one of the top teams in te NATION, since the Pac-5 is recognized as the toughest division in the country!

Let's hope that wouldn't be the score because that would mean other teams in the SGV might need to put triple-digits on their football scoreboards.

I would however, suggest that you focus your efforts and comments on Charter Oak, Diamond Ranch, and Rosemead... rather than wallowing in your Amat envy.

This is their week and we don't need to put a damper on their accomplishments by comparing them with the Lancers.

To single out the corners in the Diamond Ranch game furthur proves your lack of credibility when it comes to commenting on Bulldog Football.

The fact is that the Bulldogs were not effective at any aspect of the game which resulted in our lobsided defeat.I believe we could have played better, but the better team won that night.

Sonrise is a private school that is NOT in the CO District and has no residence requirements-so they have kids from all over. Amat, Western Christian, South Hills and more all have kids from Sonrise.

That pipeline form west of the 605 might disappear. How many CO players did NOT go to Royal Oak Middle School-the only middle school feeder in the district? Be careful what you wish for.

I hope they play the final at Mt.Sac. The former home of the Bishop Amat Lancers who played there for years in front of SRO crowds. Let's hope that CO/DR can pack it too.

It's nice to root for you're team but, put it all in perspective. Most of these teams in the SGV could not hold the jock straps of the teams that were in the PAC5 playoffs.

Los Altos will be back next year but the question is will you because sounds to me you'll probably be sitting in Damien's bleachers next year. Regardless, we hope to see you Friday night and would always be a great day in the Valley if Charter Oak or Los Altos is winning a C.I.F. Championship!

Here is an example of the kind of admiration and appreciation we should have for DRanchhhh demonstrating honor, respect, sportsmanship, and valor for the Diamond Ranch football program.

ROWLAND....READ and MANIFEST. They (CO) are a group of young men like yourselves. They dont take steroids and are not super human. They just happen to be a very well "recruited" team. Nothing wrong with that. They (CO) breathe the same air, bleed the same blood, and lift the same weights you lift. I know some of you players are looking at this blog and thinking pessimistically, but you cant. That TEAM is beatable. 16-7 with 3:20 left in the fourth quarter, should tell you something. Dont trip about being an underdog. We have been that for the last 3 years.

And as for CO you will be surprised at what a younger, scarier kid will do to a bully when backed into a corner. Keep talking, you guys might choke on your charge!!!

what can I say, that was total domination by your
team. with no speed in the secondary Sermons and Spirlin were too fast for us.
We would have been a more worthy opponent but we've
been missing our two corners for a few weeks and a linebacker for this week, I knew this would hurt us when we came across a good team cause those players had the speed to compete at this level, but even with these missing players you guy's still win cause you shut down our offense, but at least we might have made it a respectable game.
West Covina has a bright future for the next few years, lots of key players returning and some good ones coming up the ranks,
if the injury bug and other problems stay away we could be one of the better teams in the SGV for a few more years.

True, that Northview announcer is very irritating, but was he calling the game night? Yikes !!

Also, it seems that Los Osos took it in the chin last night so I think the guy calling himself “Amat Who” won’t be herd from for a while. Oh well.

I for one was very disappointed that West Covina lost. I was really rooting for them after Amat bit the dust this year.

I once spent a year in Minneapolis and St Paul, and while the folks out there are wonderful people, you just can’t compare all the cheese heads to the southern California lifestyle. I mean, that’s why the Lakers came to LA right ? Ha ha just kidding.

BTW, I usually root for the locals most of the time, but one of my “many” Alma Maters was COC, so I don’t feel too bad that they won last night. Go Cougars !

UCLA started off good yesterday, and I was a bit surprised at the final score not being a blow out. Can anyone say Bruin Pride ? Naaaa…

Having said that, is Pete Carroll really happy to see his offensive coordinator over at Washington? And, is it ethical for him to continue to coach the Trojans once he has been named the head coach at another school? I wonder how much genuine effort he is giving to the program after this announcement.

Well, the winter sports programs are in full swing right about now in high school. It’s funny to see so many football players on the various teams out there.

I guess that it just goes to show you that allot of players play multiple sports players and there doesn’t seem to be too many objections from the baseball or football coaches at Amat. In fact, the last few games I went to I saw Coach Hag's leaning over the rail watching the B-ball games late into the evening. He must be missing drawing out those x’s and o’s right about now.

Wow Diamond Ranch Came out with a mission. They played a perfect game. Those Kids are Legit. They took advantage of our Week Corners. and showed us Bulldogs what we need to do to get to the next level. That D is something special Great game plan Runnibg a Split 6-2 so the that #54 (stud) could roam free, Great scheme for a Linebacker with his talent, My son said it right we could not get to him and block him because of the 6 man front. also having # 4 back at saftey and the speed of the D was awesome. WC You dont need to hang your heads, You had a great season We are proud of you guys. We will be back next year you can count on that, We will be a team to watch out for. The same types of comments were being said about Bishop Amat, how they didn't play up to their regular style of play. They were flat? Just goes to prove now that it wasn't them not playing at their best, it was DR making them look like they were not playing their best. The DR Defense is that good. It should be recognized that way and should be feared. CO didn't do as well against DR as they had with all the other teams they went against (except 1 game vs RC). This upcoming CO/DR II game may look like a rerun of the DR/Muir II game. Great Game DR - Bring it on to CO.

DR's defense was just that dominating look at the stats they speak volumes!! There's a reason why the offense looked flat and thats because DR smacked them in the mouth from the very 1st series 3 & out! It wasn't coming out flat it was a defense purely having there way with an offense..
Plus everyone knows that WC is 1 demensional and can't pass, the matchup was DR run defense vs WC run offense and DR clearly won that battle..

Well unfortunately some of us do have to go to work on Sundays but anyways I was surprised at the score but not the outcome. More importantly, can we please not poorly represent our schools and degrade each other this week and instead be respectful towards one another. You come from the same league and the admiration seems to exist between both programs so fans follow your team's leads and do this right between now and kickoff. I for one am excited for the game and think the challenge ahead for both teams will make for an outstanding football game. The early line is Diamond Ranch +10 after both teams games last week. Defense wins championships and offense sells tickets and honestly Diamond Ranch has done both in the playoffs. Good luck and congrats to us for a S.G.V. Final!

I cant believe i missed the fight to see a boring wc dr game. There was no energy at all. I was sitting on the dr side and it was still boring. The highlight of game was sitting behind co in the stands. They looked confident and ready for next... In the third it was obvious who the winner was gonna be so they left.

I was at this game for 3 and a half quarters. It was one of the most boring games I've attended all season. The fans weren't into it on either side. The players didn't even look like they were into it. I attended the CO-Rowland game the night before, and after the electricity and excitement of that game, this one was just awful. I understand it was a blowout, but the sheer lack of enthusiasm from both sides is surprising.
Diamond Ranch, looked good at first glance, but when you consider how flat West Covina came out, it isn't surprising that the score was so lopsided. After DR's first touchdown, the Bulldogs had their tails between their legs.
Also, if DR thinks they can run the same offense next week as they did tonight, they've got another thing coming. Running off tackle all game may work against an over-matched defense, but CO will shut it down hard.

Well..well...I applaud both teams tonight. Because Fred now knows who I am, I have to watch my choice of words per say!!

Within the last 6 months Diamond Ranch has demonstrated the value of getting hot at the right time. First, in June, the baseball team, despite finishing behind Bonita and Charter Oak in the Miramonte League, advanced to the final, losing to Northview. Now, the football team finishes behind Charter Oak and Bonita again, but once more reaches the finals.

Sure it's nice to be league champs; the extra patch for your jacket and that extra number on the banner hanging in the gym. But DRanch is showing that regular season records are no match for a team that was playing their best at the end of the season.

I'm not a DR fan, but I respect what they've done. Uh oh, the basketball team is rated #1. They should aim for #3 again.

Charter Oak won the first meeting 23-7 .. what I remember from that game was Diamond Ranch moving, then losing their center to injury and were never the same....It will be a great game next week. I can't believe we're talking about this with a quarter left. Nobody dominated West Covina like this.

As far as Muema...He was/is very good, not the best I've seen this year though. Gilmore and Barnes from Burroughs are better, in my opinion. He is an integral part of the CO machine, no doubt. He is on par with Stansell and Johnson in the SG Valley on the best team. No disrespect to Sumler, have not seen him play.

Speaking to my son after the game, he said Muema was very tough and a very good RB...but Gilmore and Barnes were better. Said Gluck for La Serna was good too, and Johnson didn't show them much in the game against them.

Your absolutely right Josiah would hate to return to Bishop Amat. He has fallen in love with Charter Oak and just ask him he'll tell you the difference between a professional and personal relationship. The Lancers were his friends and the Chargers are his family! There is no comparison in the difference in how he's being treated by people who actually care about not just the athlete but more importantly the child.
