JFR,
Thanks but i knew CIF controlled movement I only wish more bloggers would understand that part.Maybe you can explain what happened to those programs that they dropped so far down and have never risen at least a few divisions. Look at us in baseball , we dropped and now we moved up a division just this year. Not complaining because we are still to low in baseball, but why haven't they moved in football where they have won often and remain in the lower divisions.
Amat 73, only CIF can move schools up and down in divisions. SH won the 4A title in 74 against I believe St.John Bosco at the Coliseum In the "fog bowl".
used to be,
In reading your post it never fails to amaze me the one common thought when people speak of the CO's,WC's,SH's,LA's on how they are supposed to be in the lower divisions because that's where they belong.Well aren't teams suppose to get better and strive to move up in the divisions instead of staying put and win titles when really you should be moving up because you have evidently passed up your fellow competition in whatever divison you are placed. That has been said of AMAT in baseball or that thinking IS only for AMAT and not the other valley schools. I can recall when LA,WC,SH were in the old 4-A division and I believe LA even won a championship . That at one time was the tops equal to the D-1 of today. What happened to them that they dropped and no longer have the desire to get back to the top or do they like being the dominate teams in lower divisions and are happy with mediocity. Now don't get me wrong or confused because their championships are great and they are something to be very proud of but at the same time you should want to challege yourself and strive for the top. Yes there are a some AMAT bloggers who go over the top but I don't think we degrade anyones accomplishments or programs unless they come on here and try to tear us down. Am I to think that is another thing that is ok for other schools but not for AMAT. I must say you do make a very good point in the fact that we are in the division we are supposed to be and that is where we belong and we are very competitive in that division . Yes we haven't won a championship in quite a few years but I am sure that will be rectified in the very near future.
Does LB POLY have the SC disease, we show up so you you should lose. That much talent with that much arrogance=LOSS.
Good job for hanging with for that long Lancers. Grant brought it last night, kudos.
state football playoffs
Good advice. Perhaps if the San Gabriel Valley was exposed more to what goes on outside the Valley, we wouldn't have so many people, who truly believe in their hearts, that the Pac-5 championship means just as much as any division. As the way things are, St. Francis is considered to be a football powerhouse! LMAO!
I wish Poly had won last night too.
Jcaz...I was looking for the So-Cal sweep with a Poly win !
Long Beach Poly went down tonight 25 to 20.
Good. Ha ha ha
great coverage by the trib (not!)on the STATE playoffs held locally in Carson at the Home depot center, Fred you guys might want to check it our and then send a report, they say it's for the State HS Football Championships, I mean it sounds kinda big, maybe some really good teams too, lol
It's Amat's job to take the stand against the elite that laugh at the San Gabriel Valley
its amats job to keep losing and have no titles in 14 years.
CO>BA
Don't sweat it.
Like I said before, it's all for fun in here and it's just a blogg, no big deal.
Championships are not championships in the Southern Section.
Long Beach Poly vs. Tesoro
Charter Oak vs. Diamond Ranch
Long Beach Poly's victory over Tesoro made national headlines...
The Pac-5 is a nationally covered and respected division.
Forgive Amat fans if their interest in Southern Section Div. 7 football is lacking.
It's not Amat's fault that they have spent the last 30+ years competing against programs that most of the Valley does not play nor pay attention to.
It's Amat's job to take the stand against the elite that laugh at the San Gabriel Valley.
jcaz,czech,BA blogger
i just want to say im sorry about talkng smack in this blog its totaly un-CO of me to be so rude, hopefully one day our two teams can face off once again and play some all out ruff neck football...thats all i have to say...im sorry

perhaps gold instead of white gold???
=)
Get a life,
Man, chill out a bit will ya.
It’s just a blog here, nothing more, but, if you think I’m vulgar, then you should see what I posted on the other thread. Ha ha ha
Hey, whets up with this clown posting with my moniker anyway?
That post below me wasn’t from me, but I suppose that if you can’t post under your own, "drive-by" name, then you’re just a loser.
since reality czech is coming out of the closet I am too. I have a man crush on you reality! wink
jcaz,
Aren't you the same person that had a ridiculous post using vulgarity and verbally abusing others on another post? You Amat fans are truly one of a kind and seriously would spend less time on this blog if you had won anything in the last ten years so until then I guess you have nothing better to do than be HYPOCRITES!
All those comments below me were all classic.
Very witty and funny. Keep up the humor guys, remember it's all for fun here.
:)
and I'm transferring to Charter Oak because they're more - uuummmm- tolerant. I'll also have more-uuummmm-options. and I hear the football team likes pink.
reality czech,
Does that mean you voted Yes on 8?
RC ..... Dont ask dont tell !!!
reality czech,
naw dude we didnt go to chuck e cheese after the finals, we had a lil party and went to films the next morning and we talked about how we are ganna get our rings done, what did you guys at BA do after the fin... oh oops my bad didnt make it to the finals i forgot....

=)
maybe you can put the photos on little pins for the CO moms to wear like they do in little league and ayso. that would be appropriate - you'd fit right in. did you go to Chuck E. Cheese after the final?
CO>BA>jcaz, I'm sure jcaz has better things to do with his time than watch Pop Warner Football.
jcaz
would you like a CO 2008 highlight video to go along with that order of photos???

This video was shown at the rally before the LBP Game...put together by a teammate for his school. Propaganda...no...sharing your talents...absolutely. Great Job!!!!
No matter what is posted on any blog it's a fact AMAT IS IN PEOPLE'S HEAD. Even Gano's day in the spotlight or Charter Oak winning is second to Amat. Why? Because AMAT IS IN YOUR HEAD. GO BIG BLUE!
Whenever an Amat fan says "The only championship that really matters is D1," it makes my blood pressure rise. Championships are championships. It doesn't matter how big the school or what division. They won the games they had to and took care of business on the field. St. Bonaventure is very good. They're in what used to be considered D11. There are 3 things that usually decide divisions: geography, school size, and public/private. Schools of equal attendance in similar areas will usually be in the same division. Amat gets bumped up to D1 because they're private, meaning their student body can be drawn from anywhere, and also history. I tell you what, I'd take a championship in D7 or D9 over going one-and-done in the playoffs ANY DAY. People who talk about the experience of playing with the big boys and losing being better than "lower level" championships...that's just ridiculous. Stop making yourselves feel better about not winning. Rio Hondo Prep won another championship. That used to be an 8-man school. I'd wear that ring with pride and wave it in the faces of the sore losers at the big-mouth D1 schools. Guess what Amat, they finished. A champ is a champ.
CO>BA>jcaz
Good one there.
However, I have to tell you that yellow, blue and white lip stick just aint my color. I'll just have to stick to the good old blue and gold thank you.
:)
Oh and one more thing here folks, and that is that, all you guys don’t need to take all the things I say in here way too seriously ok.
Just keep in mind that, through it all, it's just for fun. In fact, I just do allot of this stuff just to get a rise out of allot of you people out there.
And BTW, it seems to work pretty good sometimes eh ?
HIGH QUALITY VERSION!
You can go here for the high quality version. The "watch in high quality" link in located on the bottom right of the video playback screen. Trust me fans, it makes a huge difference and just adds to the video.
Enjoy!

Simply badass.
most of you may not know but amat ws not even suppose to be ggod this year
btw dont get me wrong i love co but still you cant place co and amat in the same game theres no way all it is divsion 1 and what division 6 correct???????
all the people saying thats something not to be happy about it is because they started off being known as the nobodys that sucked and look how far they came in a year do you know how many years it takes to do that good i mean with a new staff this wass suppose to be a rebuilding year and they dd better then expecttted
oh and co is a division 3 team in a division 6 league
jcaz
on that order of ring photos is there anyone you would like to make it out to? we can also do CO cif championship ring cut outs with a sticky back side so you can wear it like the real thing!
=)
Jcaz,
Help, Amat family, we live in C.O. school district(also support the Chargers),we have rottwiellers,Want do we do?
About that video, Nice work Andrew. Make sure the kids get a copy!
These Charter Oak people are so annoying, that they are forcing me to come out, and tell my little Chihuahua story again.
Oh no! Not another story from jcaz !!
Anyway, I have a neighbor of mine who owns a little Chihuahua. He’s a cute little thing, but to be honest with you, he is one heck of a vicious little dog. The only problem for him is that, he doesn’t know just how little he is because, he wont go outside the house to face up to the neighbors dog, even though every chance he gets, he’ll bark at the neighbors dog through the fence that separates the back yard just to piss him off a little. Kinda reminds you of someone here eh?
The fact is that, if you know this bread of animal at all, you will understand that theses types of dogs will only want to do one of two things to you once they see you coming in the front door.
The first thing they'll try to do to you, is to try and bite your fingers off if you get to close to them.
The second thing they will try to do to you, is to jump on your leg and try to hump the living daylights out of you, if you’re not too careful.
In either event, theses dogs will try to screw you both ways to Sunday.
You just can’t win with these little pests.
Well, Charter oak bloggers are allot like that little Chihuahua. They bark allot and they snip allot, but they won’t cross the fence to face the neighbor’s dog.
Yup, these Charter oaks people are a funny lot. They see themselves as a big dog in the SGV because they won a division title.
But they know deep down in their harts that they really aren’t the biggest nor the best in here. They won’t face that big dog down the street, because as much as they bark and bite, they have enough sense to run and hide when the big dog gets to close.
Amat Dad, the video Andrew did is great but do some fact checking. Highlight videos are not given out each year on Varsity. I do think a Freshman parent does one each year for them and this one although it is fabulous will not be shown or given at the banquet Hagerty already said so.
Andrew you keep doing what you do all of the boys love it.
My Friend,
If I remember right, wasn't Coach Holycross the coach at Salesian at that time? You're right, the Mustangs probably made the call. He sent his daughters to Amat and they're very loyal Lancers. (one still teaches there). He was one of the good old guys in coaching and I think ended his career at Upland.
whitey you made my Christmas.....hear that!
Bishop Amat 14
Salesian 7
WE ARE THE MUSTANGS THE MIGHTY MIGHTY MUSTANGS...EVERY WHERE WE GOOOO
PEOPLE WANT TO KNOWWWW
WHO WE AREEEE
SO WE TELL THEM!!!!
Alhambra's Coach Ruedaflores was on that Salesian team ! And was teh Varsity Head Caoch my senior year @ Salesian.
14-7.....man what a great surprise!
Well guys was I telling the truth or what.
Saleian played against the best!!!!
Thanks whitey!
Dang Whitey,I was only in the 5th grade then,Going to Amat seemed like a 100 years away...LOL
Frank C Amat 14 Salesian 7, 1965 according to my yearbook!
And for the record, anything less (than D1 football for Amat) would be uncivilized!
local, I wouldn't know. The winner of the Las Vegas Bowl would never make such an asinine comment, they would know to just stay "local". And Joe, don't worry about what these clowns are saying. You keep beating them down with the facts! Translation, "stay in a kid's place CO!"
Joe Amat as a friend and someone who shares a great deal of respect for Bishop Amat I can tell you directly I think this conversation is demeaning.
I won't hide behind clever screen names and sign with a message. I like being direct when I feell I'm talking to someone I respect. I respect your love of school and family. Therefore I will make my point.
When I was in high school Salesian played as tough a schedule as any school in California. That's not an exaggeration. As tough as any.
We opened with Pius X who fielded many Div 1 players . No less than the Nelson brothers of UCLA and Stanford fame, Long Beach Poly who fielded Frank Manaluena, Notre Dame when they were a powerhouse, Crespi same as today, St. Francis same as today, St. John Bosco same as today, Loyola better than today, Cantwell with the Damien legend Coach Larson, and little old Salesian.
Now what am I supose to think when I see this carrying on about CO and BA? I think if CO wants the game. Kick the crap out of them. Wait ...you already did that convincingly...TWICE!!!... Case clased. You're better and always will be.
Maybe that's why people either admire or laugh at DR's Roddy Layton. He challenges the BIG BOYS....and here's the rub my friend. And I do want to remain friends. HE'S DOING THE ASKING! That's why I love that team....they remeind me of my beloved Mustangs..tough , scrappy and mean.
That's the biggest difference Joe! ...it's who's doing the asking.
I wondered what all those powerhouse schools thought when Salesian fought NOT TO BE DROPPED FROM THAT LEAGUE AFTER LOSING SO MANY LEAGUE GAMES (HECK JOE IN THE 74 SEASON WE WERE THE HOMECOMING GAME FOR ALMOST EVERY TEAM ON OUR SCHEDULE)....WHAT ABOUT WHEN SALESIAN ASKED TO JOIN THE LEAGUE WITHIN 10 YEARS OF OPENING THE SCHOOL?
We'd beat on them as Freshmen, pound on them as B's and rotate JV championships and then war as best we could come Varsity. To this day Joe, Salesian still holds the record for 19 or 20 all league honors in one season (1st and 2nd team) Class of 1972. Look it up...I've got the year book to prove it.
So the argument as I see it is this...IS CO asking for the game? Or is this just a 'Valley" need that a former Boyle Heights kid wouldn't understand.
By the way what were the scores of the Bishop Amat /Salesian games anyway?
That must have been one heck of a scheduling challenge huh Joe...but for who? Still can't believe we played you guys.
So what do you know Joe ? about those games. My guess is that Saleian placed the call. You're an old timer...did it go down like that?
I think what we did was look the competition in the face and say
BA 201 CO 34
Joe,
As a TRUE Amat Alum, I read what you constantly say and man, I have to say that you are one of the reasons that there is so much Anti-Amat attitude on this blog and its threads.
I have to ask, do you just sit around ALL DAY and wait for someone to post a comment so you can/must reply???
If you were truly an Amat backer, you'd really just chill and not come across as knowing all and having to comment on EVERY SINGLE Topic!
That in itself, breeds this "Amat People are cocky, arrogant etc..." sentiment that is more and more showing its ugly head on this blog.
If you truly back Amat as you say you do, then you will think twice before you post 100 times a day!!
i believe it was the famous philosopher roddy layton that once said ID HAVE TO GO WITH CHARTER OAK OVER BISHOP AMAT THIS YEAR
btw paul porter had a sweet jump shot
bishop amat your just un-american!! nowhere in this country is being average celebrated like it is in the LP
so you go out and play tough teams and get beat so you can turn around say look at the competition we face...thats just as cowardly as anything else on here
1) Long Beach Poly
2) Mater Dei
3) Loyola
4) Los Alamitos
5) Eisenhower
6) Orange Lutheran
7) Fontana
8) BISHOP AMAT
The ONLY schools to have won a D1 championship in the last TWENTY years. Pretty good company> We'll take that.
1) Long Beach Poly
2) Mater Dei
3) Loyola
4) BISHOP AMAT
The only schools to win MULTIPLE championship in that time!
So what about all those other schools. Failures? Go tell a Servite Friar face to face that he's a failure because his school hasn't won a championship since 1983! But first... leave a will!
That video is awesome, but it wouldve been better if bishop actually would win something. All i hear how great the bishop program is but they haven't won a cif title in 14 years! 14 years! i'am tired of hearing bishop fans talk when they have nothing to show for it. Ya you won the cif state bowl game in 1992 but guess what bill clinton was barely starting in office. Stop living in the past you guys won't do nothing in the pac-5 just face it. Ya let's say charter oak goes to pac-5 their going to get wooped!!! day in and day out! no doubt about that but guess what bishop still gets wooped in the pac 5.
What do you KNOW?
I know amats won nothing for 14 years.when you win something then talk until then stfu
1st - let me remind you that this is a blog topic posted by the paper... not Amat people. No hijacking of any topics, dimming anyones spotlight, or no raining on anyones parade. It is interesting that you all come here to comment... yet for some reason expect Amat not to? How does that work, exactly? Go back and look... really look... at how many times in the HISTORY of this blog Amat bloggers actually inserted themselves into a conversation not about themselves... you'll be surprised. Now look at how many times some bozo brings up the Lancers. Like a court of law... that door is opened and you are subject to ANY and ALL cross examination or debate. Period!
weak sauce,
It's definitely not bragging. It's just stating facts... as in things that actually happened not the woulda, coulda, shoulda speculation that occurs when you have to guess how good you really are. That happens when you don't have a regular season win against ANYBODY with a winning record until the final game of the season. And then when that win is against a team that never beat a team with a winning record - what do you really KNOW?
It's not bragging it is just speaking to the hilarity of actually trying to compare. It is NOT fair to CO to set them up for that kind of disappointment. Please allow Charter Oak to enjoy their D7 championship without setting them up in a situation where you are comparing apples to oranges.
So settle for My Friends (endless) boxing analogies (sorry) and be happy with being "pound for pound" the best.... but don't for a second try to compare teams (or fighters) on the same level. Be happy being the best D7 team - that's what you earned. Let me approximate the argument for CO. I'm Manny *Pacquiao* and at 5'6" 147 lbs I could knock out the 6'2" 220 lb Evander Holyfield no problem" so I am the best fighter in the world. Ludicrous! Pound for pound? OK. D7? Fine. In direct competition. Not close.
It's like propping this CJ Guerrero kid on Workmans basketball team as the next Casey Jacobson when in reality he might be fortunate to be the next Paul Porter.
We are actually completely fine NEVER playing a SGV school. THen we'd never have to talk about these *facts* that you choose to ignore. It is unecessary when everyone looks at the situation objectively. It was said below that D7 schools are not expected to compete with D1 schools... so give it a rest and be happy with that. But then knuckleheads like yourself are not objective and think that for some reason... a D7 championship equates to anything more than it is.... a great accomplishment - at that level. Had the Chargers had an opportunity to defeat anyone of significance at all throughout the season... the facts would differ and a claim might be validated. Unfortunately we do not know. When the Lancers were in a lower baseball division than they preferred... they went out and challenged themselves in preleague games. We knew we could compete at the highest level. In football we KNOW that this year we can step on the field with the best teams in the country. We'd lose to some. We'd beat many more. But we'd *compete* with them all.
I read somehwere a wise man wrote,
" A competitor only wants to test himself against an opponenet who musters up a fear within him of failure. To truely live one has to be willing to die for something. To truely compete one has to be willing to beat a superior foe."
That's where we stand. That's what we know.
What do you KNOW?
Evander Holyfield just signed to fight Manny Paquino. Holyfield's justification is that people think the best "pound for pound fighter in the world" is a Welterweight!
That doesn't sit well with Heavyweights!
Insert Amat for Holyfield and Charter Oak for Manny and you approximate the argument that is Amat's!
What a freaking joke. Amat I love you but you're an attention slut!
Let Charter Oak live in their spot light. THEY, unlike you, EARNED their Championship moment. So stop trying to crowd them out. Holy sokes it's only been what 16 hrs after the game when Amat bloggers turned teh attention back on themselves.
Jcaz I'm still waiting for your playing days credentials.
Now can we get back to a Carson and Amat game. Seems teh Lancers have some unfinished business with them.
If Amat wasn't obnoxious and didn't act like they are special, then the blog would be boring. Sounds basically like Amat is the Vanderbilt of the Pac 5-not that great a school in terms of Football, but they are in a tough league. Not that great in terms of education either, but they are private so they think they are. Ooops, bad analogy-Vanderbilt is actually a pretty good school!Sorry, just an opinion.
all that tradition all that sucess when did an 11 game season become something to brag about
when did missing the playoffs 3 years in a row become ok
all you amat poeople look down on CO but you brag about beating them...joe now i say your famous line YOU CANT HAVE BOTH
7 times to the semis or better in the last 11 years and 3 rings to show for it now theres a stat to brag about
I do have to applaud "indifferent " and "local" below for being among those who acknowledge by writing that Amat is a better program in a higher level than those in D7. The other programs are, apparently, placed in lower divisions with programs that they can "be competitive with" while Amat is placed in a higher division with the teams "that they can be competitive with". Is that REALLY what you want to agree upon? Because that's what you wrote. If so, you then have to refrain from claiming superiority - other than being superior to other "less-competitive" teams. That's what you guys wrote... are you ready to retract.? You can't have both.
*Competitive* is an interesting word. For you linguists out there "compete" really means "TO STRIVE WITH". Not against. Not "to defeat, conquer, humiliate, or ultimately prevail. WITH! As you play the best they raise your level play... and the reverse is true. THAT'S competition. NOt beating the heck out of someone that you KNOW you can defeat. When you have a team that can defeat the likes of OLu, Crespi, Mater Dei, Loyola, St Francis, Santa Margarita, Servite, St Paul and Rancho Cucamonga (not a TIE) while taking others down to the wire over the past five years- I'd say your "competitive". If you are judging "competitive" only by championships - you're going to leave out A LOT of people. Be careful.
But if THAT IS your definition of "competitive... tell me... who IS a competitive DivisionI/Pac5 team?
Mater Dei? It's been 10 years since they've won. How about Servite? They haven't won in 25 years! Edison? 23! Esperanza? 16! St John Bosco?...Never! How about Santa Margarita- it's onnly been 11 and that one was when they were in Division SIX. Does that count? Fontana/Eisenhower.. GONE. Not even a factor anymore. Dropped divisions. Now tell me what exactly THAT proves? That you give up, gave in, can't compete? THAT'S what you want? THAT'S certainly NOT the guy I want on MY side of the line of scrimmage!
Then there is this misconception that Amat "loves" to play local teams. Go back over the history and that is clearly NOT the case. BUT...You know who the most annoying kid at the park is? It's the little $#!& playing on the short rims talking smack that pops off and THINKS he can play with the guys on the big boys court.
Sometimes it's not even that kid that pops off but his buddies go around telling everyone how great he is. So then the better kids throw him a bone and let him play - and he does nothing. Reminds everyone of where they stand. But he sure kicked @$$ on those dunk rims against the other little kids.
As I've said before, we could really do without playing anyone from the SGV, although it is great for the fans and for the gate$ that are collected. And every once in a while you just have to. But really... it serves us little purpose in preparing us ON the field. We saw that this year when we faced Loyola and the last two times we ran over the SGV only to follow it up with losses to Bosco and Loyola. It's different at that level. Sorry.
I do hope that all the top teams get to post a highlight film. It will give everyone a chance to compare... and see that there really is no comparison. Until you've been on the field to see the difference in size, speed, intensity, the force behind EVERY hit. during Pac5 competition ... you really have NO idea.

and -PLEASE- what hurt worse losing the fed ex bowl? or after losing the fed ex bowl hearing more then half of the nation say you would get beat by the vegas bowl winners
CO>BA
Someone on this blog said that the scores for the two years Amat played Charter Oak ended up something like 62-7.
Now, I don’t really know if that's entirely true, but if it is, wow.
BTW, I’d love to have one of those rings and a pic to go along with it.
It will be kind of like one of those old WW II photos of the Marines holding up a captured Japanese flag after a crushing victory.
:)

CO declined Amats invitation to play in week one.I believe that ends the discussion. I think it would be a great match up. Too bad it will never happen.
Where the christmas spirit ? Don't Hate ! Bishop Amat had a very good year and so did Charter Oak. To end all discussions. Let Bishop Amat play Charter oak every year. Then will find out who is the best.
Well Said Amat Dad.
I will wait for as long as it takes to get a D1 banner
its going to be another 14 years.
HIGH QUALITY VERSION!
You can go here for the high quality version. The "watch in high quality" link in located on the bottom right of the video playback screen. Trust me fans, it makes a huge difference and just adds to the video.
Enjoy!

Simply badass.
Love the Video and all teams have them, they give the CD away at the end of the season banquets. Does not matter if we are not hanging a banner for football, we had a great season did what was expected after hiring Hagerty, got away from Verti and the upswing is in place. The video is what we are looking at not the W-L record. Nice Job Encinas. Pac5 very tough to play in as you can see LBP won it all and we gave them all we had, came up short but the measuring against a team like Poly that nite shows allot for the Lancers and their Coaches. Tell me about our SGV Champion Charter Oak and if they would have stretched Poly Like that not to mention blanking them for 2 quarters and having a lead 10-0 at half. CO NEVER gets close in a game with Poly. Thats why Amat plays where they play and only settles to win the ultimate Banner which is D1. I will wait for as long as it takes to get a D1 banner, I would not trade that goal for anything. anything less well we will leave those championships for the D6 D7 BOYS....Yes us Amat Dads are pompous SOB's but we have that right we put our sons through the toughest competition out there. We strive for the best out of our kids INCLUDING EDUCATION..
14 Years:
Actually, I've seen quite a few of these done. But NOT at the high school level. No one in the Pac-5 can come even close. Look at the quality and effort put into it. Andrew E. did a fantastic job. And I'm sure we have Chris Rix to thank too! GREAT JOB!
I do not understand why some people have trouble believing that we value our level of competition over our number of championships. Remember a thing called "honor?" I know...it's an older concept but there are books on it. Everyone can google it.
You're not going to hurt anyone's feelings Mr. 14 Years. I know that deep down inside, you liked this video. You may not be an Amat fan, but you did like the video. Any sports fan would like this video.
OK! Time to watch it again! hahahhaa
That video is nothing more than amat propaganda. It's only the best you have ever seen if you don't watch many videos. Those players are jumping up and down because they have ants in their pants. 14 years and counting and ZERO titles. So much for best in the valley.
This is not a highlight video...it's more like a call to arms! LOL!
That video was the best I've ever seen!
Did you see that offensive block out of bounds against Orange Lutheran? That was a smack!
It's no wonder why it has received a few anti-amat protesters but that was expected. I expect even more grumblings from those that have never witnessed a Pac-5 team.
But seriously, even if your are not an Amat fan, you have to admit, it's a pretty damn good video.
I love the unflinching partiality of this blog - if should be called "Robledo Talks Amat".
All the other SGV teams worked just as hard and deserve just as much attention.
Hey Fred - if I get you links to Rowland, West Covina and South Hills' highlight videos online, will those get posted, too?
I'll bet you two grown bums take pride in going to the local middle schools, beating up some defenseless kid and proclaiming yourselves as the king of the school! You two are the epitome of losers and that's why your school will never be considered great in any field or endeavor! Hell, you guys can't even print a yearbook correctly let alone play football at the highest level. Hey bums, football and life are about COMPETING! The lessons learned in victory and defeat (when you do it at a high level) are far greater than anything you will ever accomplish playing small ball. Simply put, I'd rather lose in the FedEx Bowl than win the Las Vegas Bowl! You bums! By the way, Joe Amat and Amat 73 don't have to respond. I just did!
the post right below me hit it right on the head! outstanding!!!

When I played, I used to not care about Bishop Amat. They were just another school playing football. It isn't until years later, especially over the last year or two, that I've come to dislike Amat. I do not blame their coaches, players, or anything about their program. I simply blame the loud-mouth, greater than thou fans. Here's my two cents: Bishop Amat hasn't won a championship in 13 years. They field some decent teams every once in awhile, but nothing spectacular in recent memory. Almost every Amat fan toots their Amat horn and degrades the other local programs, but their own program has had nothing to show. Their excuse is "Our players play at the next level." That's all well and good. They're great players. Amat is a TEAM. A team that doesn't win championships. I don't wanna hear "We're in the toughest division in the country." You're in that division because you're supposed to be competitive in that division. It's nothing but excuses. Charter Oak's got championships in recent memory. South Hills has them. Los Altos has them. West Covina's got one. Yeah, they're in lower divisions, but that's because they're supposed to be. They actually compete and win championships in their divisions. Don't say it's easier. They have to go up against schools of similar caliber. That's the way the divisions are designed. You gotta beat the teams in your division to win championships. Other local schools manage to do it. Amat can't do it when it matters (playoffs). Prove me wrong.
I gotta say that was impressive to watch. The music and editing was done beautifully. It definitely gets your blood pumping, even if it comes at the expense of having to watch Bishop Amat. I keed I keed. Encinas did a masterful job.
wow, what a great video! do all high schools do that kind of thing these days? if so, high school football has come a long way from the old 16 millimeter! can't wait to see the others. good job on that amat.
we all know you wrote that about yourself so shut up already
This video was done by andrew Encinas, brother in law of Amat QB coach Chris Rix, one of Amat's quarterbacks. He did a great job on the video.
