Sound off: Robledo, Ramirez and the Guru

| | Comments (21) |

LIVE BLOGGING: Folks, we encourage you attend Friday's games, but if not, we'll have live blogging from Rosemead-Monrovia and Charter Oak-Rowland. On Saturday, I'll provide live updates of Diamond Ranch-West Covina for those of you still feeling the effects of the UCLA-USC game, or who might want to stay home and watch the De La Hoya-Pacquiao fight. Steve Ramirez will also have live blogging from Mt. SAC's Southern Cal Regional final at College of the Canyons.

In another special playoff edition of the two-minute drill we're joined by the Scouting Guru, substituting for Reginald Miller, who's busy schedule kept him away this week. The Guru joins prep sports editor Fred J. Robledo and sports writer Steve Ramirez, who cranked out this week's semifinal games.

Friday's semifinal games
Southeast Division

Charter Oak (11-0-1) at Rowland (10-2), 7 p.m.
Mid-Valley Division
Rosemead (10-2) at Monrovia (10-2), 7:30 p.m.

Saturday's semifinal
Southeast Division

West Covina (10-2) vs. Diamond Ranch (6-6), at Ganesha H.S., 7:30 p.m.

"It's a big stadium, the Rowland side is pretty packed, but a little disappointed on Charter Oak side, it's half full but people are still trickling in." Posted by: Fred | December 5, 2008 7:36 PM

"21 Nov 2008 ... After spotting Amat a 10-0 halftime lead, Poly roared back for a 21-17 win that was as exciting as it was nerve-wracking for the 7000 or so fans in attendance..." -Article from Long Beach Press Telegram.

7000+ fans in attendance!

Josiah Thropay, Bishop Amat would welcome you back with open arms...

to all the ppl saying snyder pulled something off, i dont kno anything about that, i asked all these football players and they were looking at me like i was an idiot..but i do kno that there were ppl spying on rowland, ppl always do that to rowland when they scared that they might lose

Spying? Not by CO, that's for sure. The Chargers coaching staff doesn't roll that way.
Breaking and entering? Sounds like a made up story.

Maybe now that everything is over and Coach Hernandez has stepped down as coach at LP, maybe he could go back to mead in some capacity

Comparing Charter Oak to Rosemead is not realistic. It would be like speculating the outcome of a 1990 boxing match between Mike Tyson and Julio Cesar Chavez. Pound for pound, one can logically argue that Rosemead is parallel to Charter Oak, but head-to-head, the Panthers would suffer death by electrocution. On a good day, Rosemead would lose by 28 points. However, a motivated 2008 Charter Oak squad would distinguish themselves by atleast 40 points.

Keep in mind, Rosemead lost to a formidable South Hills team, whom Charter Oak would hammer this year. This year, the only SGV team that could defeat Oak is Amat. That would be a solid confrontation.

Not sure who out there remembers the 2003 Cat War.

Desean/Deon Sumler and a trio of nasty linebackers for the Mead and Canada/Spicer and a bunch of speedsters for M-town.
It was an early season game I think, maybe 3rd or 4th game.
The Mead won 21-7. Where they ended up that year I do not recall.

yall are ignorant.
today at rowlands practice there was a guy in a white truck video taping it.

there is no proof that it was or was not charter oak west co or d ranch.

and last night some one broke into the rowland coaches office and there isnt any proof about antone on that either.

but it does look awofly suspicious.
